From the Philly area and can confirm the cheesesteaks are fantastic. A must stop when in Columbia.

I believe he got bbq, buffalo and blackened wings. They put the sauces on the side for the bbq and buffalo (I'm assuming for people to add it themselves in case you don't like a lot of sauce). My bf preferred that because he doesn't like a lot lol. The wings were cooked perfect, had a lot of meat, very flavorful. I didn't try the tots, but everyone said they were good. My friend and I got the garlic soy edamame and that was probably my favorite thing I ate. It was so flavorful, the edamame was well made very well, wasn't too salty. Our waitress Mina was such a delight. She said she made/created the Seakhawk Stack drink for the superbowl so I went ahead and got it :) and it was actually really good! It wasn't too sweet or too strong so it was very enjoyable with my meal. I love pineapple and Midori in my drink as well so it was perfect. My daughter got tenders and fries (not pictured) but the tenders were juicy and cooked well. She enjoyed them for her dinner. For dessert, my baby got the sherbet ice cream and my friend and I got the chocolate chip cookie wontons (which are on Hanabi's menu). The ice cream was creamy and tart, perfect balance to end the night. I loved the wontons but I think the wonton was a little overcooked because it was hard to bite through but the cookie dough inside was nice and gooey. I think if they had taken it out maybe a minute before, it would have been crunchy and easier to bite. Overall we had a great experience and we look forward to coming back.

My friends and I went during the NCAA Basketball Tournament, hoping to be able to watch all of the games at once. However, rather than having any of the basketball games on, they literally had a replay of an NFL game, a volleyball game, a TV that had timed out, and some kind of documentary on the other TV. When we asked our server if they could put the games on, we were told that they were unable to change the channels on the TV, as it was some kind of streaming service. Furthermore, we placed an order for drinks, and after sitting there for about fifteen minutes (15) minutes, got up and left after not seeing our waitress after that. If I were simply judging by this experience, I would have given The Yard negative stars if possible. However, my friends and I returned to The Yard to watch the NCAA Women's Basketball National Championship, and had a much better experience. It seemed that they were able to get the TV situation worked out, and we were actually able to get drinks this time. I know that this is the bare minimum for a sports bar, but they did show marked improvement from the first time that we went there. Our server, the bartender, and the hostess were all very nice, and I really liked the interesting sports regalia that was hanging on the walls. Overall, I'm going to give The Yard a generous three (3) stars, mainly considering the context in which my experiences took place. I hope that my first visit was simply a matter of needing to work the kinks out, and that future visits will be more in line with how my second visit went. I've yet to try their food, so I'll probably come back at least one more time, which'll serve as the tiebreaker as to whether The Yard is a worthwhile stop or not.

However, we expected German beer options being that they call themselves a Biergarten. They had none. Absolutely nothing about this place was German. We went on a Sunday late morning and all they had was brunch. That was fine, but the brunch menu was fairly limited. And again, nothing German. While our service was great, it looked like they had two servers for the entire place. We saw two tables of people get up and leave because the weren't being waited on. Again, our experience was good. But maybe consider the negatives before trying.

Service was good and very friendly, portion sizes were extremely generous, and well priced. That said, the food wasn't great. Very greasy all around. I was the only one who didn't thin the sausage was gross. My frittata had a ton of mozzarella cheese which added no flavor but a ton of calories, one bite of the grit cake and it had very little taste but a lot of fat in it. I had brunch here once before a few years ago and I remember there being some healthier options on the menu and I don't remember it being this greasy. J.Ja

We were also able to bring our dogs, which was a nice bonus and added to the overall experience. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, checking in on us a reasonable amount without being overbearing. However, the wait time for our food was disappointing. It took about 30 minutes to arrive, even though the restaurant wasn't very crowded. I ordered the steak quesadilla, and unfortunately, it was underwhelming. The bottom was soggy, and the steak was bland and somewhat rubbery. On a positive note, the beer cheese was really good and probably the highlight of the meal. Overall, the experience was just okay. Nothing stood out as particularly special, and the food didn't quite meet expectations. It may have just been the dish I ordered, but based on this visit, I'd say the restaurant was mediocre at best.

The waitress finally came around to take our orders about 15 minutes after we'd been sitting. We ordered 3 Captain Crunch Chicken Salads, a Bologna sandwich, a Pulled pork sandwich, a Chicken and one other wrap, a catfish Po'Boy and a couple more items. We finally got our food about 30-40 minutes later although the waitress did bring our drinks about 5 minutes or so after we'd ordered them. The restaurant wasn't that busy and they seemed to have enough staff but it sure seemed like it took a long time. I must say the waitress never really stopped back to check on our drinks til we'd almost finished our meal. The Captain Crunch Chicken Salad was just so-so. The chicken wasn't real hot but fairly warm. I doubt if I'd order it again. The Bologna sandwich was good and the guys liked their wraps. The person ordering the Po-Boy was expecting it to have catfish filets rather than Catfish nuggets...and there were so many of them he had to pull them off the sandwich in order to close it and eat it. He said he wouldn't order it again. Pulled pork must've tasted better than it looked because it was given a 4.0. Based on the time it took to get our orders and the food I doubt if we'll be returning with this group.
