The vibe the vibe the vibe... this cozy restaurant is located in downtown columbia. Let me tell you it's a vibe. It's a nice date spot or f you want to get away, this spot is secluded and quiet. It's worth the visit!! The bartenders are very friendly and hold conversation. I did not try any food because we had reservations elsewhere. The menu does not have a lot on it. 6 items is what you can choose from. I may try the chop on nmh next visit. The drinks are spot on. The right mix of alcohol. If you're are looking for a great brunch spot with a live DJ this place is a great option. Younger crowd but good food and good drinks. We had chicken and waffles and chicken and French toast both were good!! Food came out hot like fresh out the kitchen!! The chicken bites were full of flavor! Don't let anybody tell you Greenville or Charleston is better than Columbia. The local talent I've heard tonight show cases what Columbia is all about. This venue offers an intimate experience with local r&b talent as well as Jazz artist. Stopped by here with a friend on Wednesday night for karaoke. The sitting room was very nice and quaint. Not a huge area but just enough space to not be on top of each other. I ordered a few drinks from the bar and the bartender was super sweet. The drinks were good. I sang a few songs and it was my first time out. No idea what's up with this place tonight. Been here several times before and thought it was a great place. Tonight we brought my son, daughter and her boyfriend and they were completely different. Ordered two things on the drink menu. Both times, "we don't have that". Ordered Bees Knees. Bartenders rolling their eyes, refusing to serve top shelf drinks in glassware claiming there is none... obviously plenty behind the counter in plain site. Only thing I can figure is that they disrespected my 25 and 26 year old USC Graduate son and daughter. Never treated the wife and me this way. Shame on you. Not sure we'll be back. DO NOT DISRESPECT YOUR CUSTOMERS !! They/we pay your bills. Really annoying that we came here to have a nice time only to have the staff adversely impact our evening. Too bad. We went on a Sunday and grooved for over two hours to a live jazz band. The space is small with like a dozen tables indoors and 2-3 tables outside. The offerings here were comfort with a twist. 3 of us had the chicken and waffles...so good. The chicken was double fried with fresh waffles and a spicy syrup. I've walked by this spot many times while on Main Street bit never stopped in. Well tonight I did and I'm glad I did. They had live bands, good drinks and positive vibes. Thos is a cool spot to come to to hear some live music and have a drink or 2. I heard they have karaoke on Wed nights so I will have to drop by one Wednesday and see whats up. This spot has a great vibe that is hard to describe, but I like it. I will be back and I will have to try some of the food. read more

I love love love this place! The vibe reminds me of a vintage saloon from the 1800s. I appreciate the live music. I especially love coming to Latin night on Thursdays when the band has the place rocking. My favorite dishes are the shrimp and grits (get the chef to add bacon!) and the chicken and waffles. Chef Sidney Mitchell is a masterful executioner of the food. All of the dishes are named after a famous musician and chef Sidney knows how to bring out just the right flavors (and notes too, because if it isn't too busy, he will jump on his sax and play along with the band)! read more

Went on a Thursday Latin night. Music was excellent. So fun. Many dancing salsa, bachata, merengue! Ambiance was amazing! Drinks were very good. Loved it. Gave 3 stars because men's bathroom was disgusting. Filthy toilet, sink, and no paper towels either. We then had to leave to use bathroom elsewhere. Disgusting! The chef's made from scratch waffles are delicious and unique, seriously... the best waffles I've ever had. I appreciate the attention to detail that they put into the atmosphere and the food. Loved this place when they first opened. There has been a change in management, I believe, and the experience of the restaurant and atmosphere have been effected. The food is still great. At first I was a little disappointed and almost left but I did arrive very early about 6:00pm. Things began to get really good around 6:30 when the band started playing so don't get there too early was a lesson I've learned. The vibes were really good once band began to play. I expected the menu to be more but it was simple with a few choices to choose from but overall the food was delicious. I gave it a 4 star because there were no waiters who come to your table. You have to go to the bar for all orders including the food. It's a really good place to go a chill if you like Jazz. read more

A suggestion from a friend, that their brunch menu was amazing. My husband and I will have to agree. We are BIG BRUNCHERS. He had the chicken and waffles and I had the grits, waffle, bacon and egg plate. Hands down the best grits I've ever had. The chicken was juicy with a flavorful spicy syrup, a perfect combination of savory and sweet. The biscuits were crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. The homemade strawberry jam was delicious, I personally appreciate how there was no added sugar. It was just sweet muddled strawberries. Highly recommend this place. Five stars relative to what it is. A live music place with good prices and friendly staff. Not a luxury venue but really good at what it is.

We were headed to get a light bite b4 an 8:00 movie at The Nick. Only available parking space was directly at The Joints front door. Why not? 6:00 pm Saturday. We were the only customers, sat at the bar. Asked for menu suggestions, no hesitation on their part , which is awesome. Ended up getting a U pick charcuterie board with prosciutto, provolone, manchego, fruit, olives and an AMAZING smoked Salmon! This board was beautifully presented and more than ample! It didn't come with crackers so we ordered a side of crostini , which was PERFECTLY buttered and grilled! The bartenders were adorable, ( we r 60 , so all these young peeps are adorable to us) everyone was super friendly. We had to leave b4 the music started, but they were pretty packed when we returned to our car. Love the ambiance! We will DEFINITELY be back for more food, spirits and music!!! read more
