Finally I tried this hidden gem, it's been on my list for while! Robinson Room was a great experience from beginning to end. I made a reservation, timing was perfect. It wasn't crowded, ambience was nice, customer service was A+, and the food- drinks was amazing! Absolutely loved the decor and very intimate dining experience. Location is downtown Columbia, I went on a Friday afternoon approx 5p, we had no issue with parking. This was the start to our 30yr anniversary pre diner, before another reservation later in the evening. We loved everything about our time here. I highly recommend this boutique cocktail and desert bar, we will be returning in the near future! Thanks to your staff! @glampedlife

Espresso Martini

3 1/2 stars, Okay so let me get the negatives out the way first: smells a bit weird but well done on decor except the faux plants. The space could benefit from fresh greenery to give it a clean air vibe but I digress. However, I love and recommend the espresso martin and the bourbon pudding (it's a banana pudding, no bourbon flavor whatsoever) but I enjoyed it, it could use more of the cookie wafers though. Stay clear from the Tuscan Trifle drink, yuck... way too sweet. Instead order the espresso martini and you can thank me later. With this place being a drink/dessert place I wanted more but it's cute and has potential. It's worth a try. A cute little spot to hang with your besties or even have a little pre/post date cocktail. They just need to vamp up their desserts to make it a spot where you would want to keep on coming back to.

The environment was so nice. Great for a date night or night out with friends! We enjoyed all of our food and the coffee was very delicious.

Goat Cheese Pita

Overall I had a great experience. My server was attentive, the food was good and the chairs were comfortable. That means a lot to some of us! This is a great place to go to if you want light bites. Their menu is traditionally tapas style. Do not expect big hearty meals or even hearty appetizers. This place would be suitable as an after dinner or first date place. I tried the goat cheese pita which is one of the "heartiest" meal options. It was a good portion and tasty. They have several cocktail option. Lastly, if you have a large party, this may not be the best spot. This place is more intimate and cozy. I believe anything I over 6 people maybe hard to accommodate if the place is packed. Nevertheless, I'll be back!! Oh they do have brunch I just came too late.

CHICKEN & PEARLS

The food was great, the syrup and waffles were super sweet and the chicken was seasoned well! A great combo together. The biscuits were a little hard but once gravy soaked in it was desirable. The waffle board was a shareable plate and everything tasted good, the fruits were fresh and the sauces were tasty. Of course the drinks were drinks . Our server, I forgot his name but he was very attentive to our table and took great care of us while we were there. It's a nice chill spot with nice music and quiet vibe.

The Robinson Room is so vibey. The colors and florals and music, it's just all such good vibes. We got the buttercream board which was to die for. The espresso martini was made well and if you're an espresso martini person, you know they have to be made right. The server was attentive to us and checked on us often. It's perfect for a date night or after dinner dessert.

Central location right in the heart of downtown. They recently opened up this spot and the decor and ambiance is super cute! The food is plated creatively and I like the brunch menu they have going on. I am docking a star because the waffle was a little dry and the biscuit had a little too much gravy for my liking but I definitely will come back and try other items.

What a cute place! Came here with a friend while visiting and I was thoroughly impressed. Their holiday drinks were delicious and their desserts were so good. The staff was amazing and helpful too!

Cheesecake w/ Caramel sauce
Kayla P.

My guy almost sent this exquisite delicacy back, thinking they brought out a donut! Lol. What a gem I would have missed out on! This cheesecake is delish and the caramel sauce (you can also get strawberry) was so complementary. Good down to the last graham cracker crumb! The space itself is smaller but my only issue was that the table we were at blocked the easy path to the bathroom and people kept having to pause, realize that, and walk around our table.

Gourmet meatballs

So good. And AMAZING atmosphere inside. There was nobody in there on a Thursday which really threw me. I'm not sure if there just hasn't been a lot of advertising for this place or what, but wow. Food was fantastic. We ordered the meatballs and the soft cheese plate. Both incredible - meatballs are a must. Service was also good and our waiters were really cool. Can't wait to go back!

This has been on me and hubbys list for awhile and we finally got to try it out. We weren't sure how busy it may be, so we made a reservation for 11 am since we were trying to have brunch before the girls basketball game (2nd round ncaa playoffs) woo hoo! First off the inside is so pretty and the vibe is elegant but cozy. I love the vibrant colors and aesthetics. The only thing I'd say about the service is our waiter seemed slow at times coming to our table and it seemed he tried to remember everything and not confirming the order vs writing it down or repeating it back because he gave my bf the wrong thing (which at the end wasn't a problem) and when we asked for the apple sausage , he thought we said apple torte and came back and said we don't serve dessert during brunch.... We were like no we said apple sausage. Now on to the food and drinks. I ordered a pineapple sour and it was so good. It seemed to get stronger the more I drank and the dried blood orange slice gave it a nice little kick. I ordered the wagyu meatballs and potatoes and they give it to you in a little skillet. It doesn't seem like enough food but it actually was a good sized portion. The wagyu meatballs were tender and flavorful and paired well with the potatoes. The potatoes were supposed to be crispy which I'm sure they were initially but after the meatballs sitting on top lost it a little, but that wasn't a problem at all. I think it would be so much better with a medium cooked egg in the middle to complete the dish .We ordered the apple sausage and grits a la carte just to try it. The sausage was a smidge sweet but still had good smoky flavor. The grits were flavorful but texture was mid. It was a little dry and thick. I wish I could have tasted the desserts but that'll be an excuse to come back again. I'd give it this place an 8.7 for overall experience.

Every time I pop in the ambiance is amazing! However, the one thing I attempt to order is either gone or missing an ingredient. The staff is very friendly but they may be over worked. Seated quickly but took a while to have someone come over. I had to ask the table next to me if I could borrow a menu and they obliged because they had already ordered and eaten and just had a table of menus amongst their dishes. Definitely a place to check out but be prepared to have a back up item to the item you want to order and don't come "hangry".

The food surpassed my expectations, particularly the red pepper dip. I also saw the teriyaki beef tacos and thought they'd be meh, but they were really quite tasty! Did not order entrees. I would say they should add a vegetarian/vegan entree option (or substitution) (beyond something mundane like a salad)- maybe I didn't look hard enough. The service was good but not anything to rave about. We were there at what seemed to be a relatively slow time of day/week (maybe 20% of the restaurant was full). Nothing bad to say here. The pricing was as expected. Pretty typical. Also, why no champagne on the menu?! Come on guys (lol, again, maybe I didn't look hard enough). So- 4 out of 5. Not knocking it because of any complaints, it's just pretty average for Columbia. Though I do think they deserve higher than 3.6 based on my experience.

The cherry on top was the cherry mouse which we split, but easily could have enjoyed two as it was so yummy. Can't believe we waited So long to come to this adorable hangout spot and will definitely be back. The decorations were perfect and food even better.

Upon entering the hostess informed us they were currently only serving the late night menu. We said no problem and elected to grab seats at the bar. There were several empty tables and a few empty seats @ the bar. However, the only two seats together at the bar needed to be cleared from the last patrons that were seated. We stood there for over 20 mins while Jacob continued to walk by never acknowledging us or the fact that we couldn't sit. When he finally cleared the dishes he just walked away, never cleaning the area. When he returned he still never greeted us or apologized for the wait, the mess... nothing. Jacob: What are you having? Me: Well hello... Jacob: Yea... what do you want? Me: Wow... ok. For starters can you please whip off the bar so we can properly have a seat. There is still food residue here from the last customers. ** we get a visible huff** He wipes down the bar and we proceed to order drinks, while he never really speak any more it's all via motions and body language. Amongst ourselves we check in with one another to confirm that we both were feeling very unwelcome. Instantly we decide that we will not be ordering anything additional and will be leaving after this one drink. Which is just as well because Jacob never returns. Someone , whom I can only assume was of a mangement status, asked if Jacob was helpful and we promptly and simultaneously said no and that we would like or bill. She shook her head in utter disbelief and disgust but then she also disappeared. Just so happened that Diamond, whom was on the other side of the bar happen to walk pass. She stopped and asked if we were ok after witnessing our frustration. We explained that we wanted the check and why we were leaving. She was super apologetic and closed out our tab. Her energy literal turned the experience around and if she would have came to our rescue sooner we would have considered staying. Thank you Diamond. Just A Note: Unfortunately, bad first impression because The Grand seems like it may offer a good time with the bowling lanes in the back.

The place is very well air conditioned, and the space is very intentional. Visiting from out of state the waitress seemed a bit shy/new but curious about Wisconsin she warmed up a little bit. It's really cool that you can see the chefs in their element behind a glass wall while you wait. The silverware, or should I say Goldwear was beautiful. I started out with the All American Spritz- it was good but nothing extraordinary. However when I tried the pistachio martini, I was in disbelief! I was skeptical to order it as I've never even heard of one before and was unsure how pistachio would translate into a martini. It was creamy and somehow savory and sweet at the same time, the alcohol taste was nonexistent. And the rim was coated in pistachio crumbs. Both the drinks presentation was beautiful. I personally ordered the bbq chicken sandwhich, with mac and cheese instead of fries for the side. The sandwich was smoky, I could not stop eating it! If anyone was wondering what so special about the mac and cheese, it's the name of the noodles. And yes, the waitress will sound it out with you lol! The Mac and cheese wasn't creamy, and I found it a bit bland unfortunately. There was no order the same in the group I came with. The truffle fries were on the thinner crispier side, neat that there were different color of potatoes used. The duck wings came out like their very own presentation. I tried the alligator bites, that were served with 2 sauces, I thought there were kind of chewy , and weird enough I guess I have a preference with how my alligator is served since having tried some at the Wisco State fair. I love that the menu feels curated, you know what you're there for and it's not overwhelming to pick from the options of something new. The bathroom was very cute too! And the bar area was lit up, a cool atmosphere.

That created a slightly rushed feeling right from the start of the experience. When the food arrived, it was not served hot. The fries were seasoned but came out cold, so we had to send them back. The service also felt a bit disengaged, as though the server was ready to wrap things up, even though there was still about 30 to 45 minutes before closing time. That said, once the food was remade and served hot, it was really good. My salad, however, was not the same experience, as the lettuce had brown spots throughout, which took away from the overall quality. You can tell the kitchen has potential when the food is prepared properly, but consistency is the issue. The ambience is very cool and visually appealing. It is a bit dark for my personal preference in the evening, but I can imagine it being bright and beautiful during the daytime. The cocktail I ordered was just okay and didn't really stand out. Overall, there is definitely potential here, but improvements in consistency, service attentiveness, and food quality control would really elevate the experience.

What was even more disappointing was that when our waitress brought the bill, she clearly noticed I hadn't eaten the sandwich and chose not to ask about it. At this price point for lunch, I would have expected the situation to be handled a little differently. I had a few options, but ultimately landed on Gervais and Vine and made a reservation. On the recommendation of our server, we started with a bottle of In Sheep's Clothing and got to ordering. I had already scoured the menu before coming in so I was pretty sure I knew what I wanted. I love that it's smaller portions so you can order different dishes and try a bunch all at once. We started with the baked brie which I think had an apricot spread plus some fruit and bread. Then we did the petit filet mignon, pork with gorgonzola cream sauce, spicy shrimp gambas, and the seared jumbo scallops. This may sound like too much for two people and you would be right but it was so delicious. I highly recommend everything we had. If I had to choose some standouts, the shrimp were phenomenal and I'm still thinking about them. The biggest surprise was the pork. It was a good size portion in comparison and the cream sauce was so good. Honestly, if you followed this order to a T or any variation of it, you can't go wrong. We weren't rushed in any way so in lieu of dessert we took our time finishing that bottle of wine. While there were some other menu items that jumped out at me, I would absolutely come back and order the exact same thing again. This was one of my favorite meals this year.
