It was okay. I'm not from down south and don't eat meat so maybe this just isn't a place for pescatarians. There were NO seafood topping options. The veggie baked potato was not that exciting. It was a lot of cold veggies on top of a hot potato, minus the sautéed peppers. The woman who took my order was nice. Offered my mother and I a deal. We opted out to get a fill spud, not a half spud. I first tried this restaurant in NC and so glad I get to have it around in SC ! The food is delicious something new I thought was brilliant was their spuds they offer man those things look delicious next time I definitely need to get me that. I had the sweet chipotle chicken sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese! And my friend had the pick 2 offer a spud and sandwich which if you're trying to have something gluten free they can accommodate! Stopped here on a road trip and I wish we had one back home! I got the Sweet and Spicy Chicken sandwich with chips and a lemonade tea. My fiancé got the Spicy Southwest Chicken sandwich with potato salad. It has a calm atmosphere and the staff was polite while we ordered. I would absolutely recommend McAlister's! read more

McAllister's is just a reliable deli with a good selection of salads, sandwiches, and a variety of loaded potatoes. I do not recommend their chili or anything that sounds Mexican. They are not a Mexican restaurant. When I go, I usually get "choose two," which is half of one item and half of another. Oh, as they take pride in their tea. If you don't like it too sweet, better get half-and-half. Their app also works really well for order ahead. read more

I used to love McAlister's but it's gone so downhill. Orders always wrong or missing items. I was missing my side of Mac and cheese and my brookie. The Ruben, i requested a wrap and I got a messy thrown together sandwich on rye. I understand it's short staffed everywhere but it's ridiculous that it's messed up EVERY TIME I pick up my order. Id recommend checking your bag and what's inside of the boxes before leaving the store since clearly no one pays attention to the item details and they could care less about your order. Not my favorite deli. Wife enjoys it. Me, just not a great deli. Typical American fare. I just go and enjoy time with her.

I tried. I really did. Pros: The manager was nice. He was definitely trying. They let us move tables together for our group. The dining room was clean. Fast service. Cons: Just don't. Bathrooms were dirty and they were out of toilet paper. Several of the orders were heard wrong and/or entered incorrectly resulting in the wrong things coming to the table. The staff was not bright and really uncertain about their roles and what they were supposed to be doing. The food: I ordered the Black Angus spud. It is a potato, with deli style angus, cheese and au jus sauce poured over. Maybe it was all in the perspective but I was expecting a potato in au jus sauce. I was on whole 30 so I got it sans cheese but it was just gross. Cheese could not have saved this spud. The meat has zero flavor, there was just a tiny bit of au jus added to the potato and it also had no flavor. My fellow diner ordered a spicy southwest sandwich and said hers was also extremely bland. Several other people in our party mentioned that everything was sub par. The dining room wasn't comfortable and didn't encourage you to stay. We were out in about 30 mns flat. For the price you pay, none of what we ordered was worth it. We were hungry again in a couple of hours. If it's up to me, we won't be back. Note: I have eaten here before and it's been better. I placed a to-go order over the phone specifically with a representative because my order is always wrong. I ordered a Mcalister's CLUB with no tomatoes on WHITE because I'm allergic to wheat bread. She read my order back verbatim however I still received a Mcalister's KING club on WHEAT bread with Tomatoes! I'm a nurse that works night shift so when I opened my box to see what I had of course they were already closed. This is the 4th time this has happened at the Two Notch Rd location. Unfortunately, I and all other customers were experiencing a 50 minute wait just to have our order taken because the location was receiving lots of online orders in addition to the brisk business with walk-in customers, and there was only one person working the front and two people working the kitchen. This was on a Saturday between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The management majorly miscalculated the staffing requirements resulting in poor customer service and frustrated work staff. This place is definitely not worth more than 3 stars. Sandwiches and Salads are adequate. Nothing to brag about. Service is extremely slow. Waiting 24 minutes for a salad I'm sure they're just pouring out of a plastic bag is ridiculous. There's really no interaction with the staff. Nothing but ordering your food and somebody bringing it to the table. Nothing to write home about...... Revision: we gave them another chance this weekend. Service was so much better. I really wish that I could give 0 as a rating. Picture this: * School night, after a hard days work, 2 hungry kids and waiting to receive my order. Once received, I set my children up with their plates and upon opening my salad, I realized that the avocado I'd paid extra for was completely brown. Because again, I had already given McAlister's the benefit of the doubt, when I first uncovered my salad and saw that my avocado I paid extra for was COMPLETELY BROWN. *I called the restaurant and spoke to Ashley who presented herself as the new manager and apologized for the experience stating that she also has children and understood how hectic things can be on a school night and all with hungry children and in I stated to her that after spending $90.95 at her establishment I now still had to find a way to feed my kids before bed. I stated that under the circumstances I did not feel comfortable eating anything else or allowing my children to do so. I requested a refund and said I'd provide photos if needed. She kept apologizing and said she would contact her manager and BiteSquad in order to refund me because as a new manager she was not aware of the exact procedure. She then assured me SHE would call me back with any additional updates. *Next thing I know, I receive a call from a guy who speaks so fast I could barely keep up. I heard him say he was the manager. So, I figured he was probably the General Manager. First, he said that the food did not come from his establishment at: 4710-A Forest Dr Columbia, SC 29206 I then confirmed that I still had my screen up and verified that indeed, the food was prepared at the Forest Drive location as shown also on BiteSquad. He then began speaking like he was talking down to me as if to put me in my place assuring me that he'd been in the restaurant business for 30 Yrs and that he'd never had any issues at his establishments and that there are no records of any problems at the Health Department or anywhere else. He kept saying very authoritatively, "I can assure you." Then, after he went through his statements, I said: "Okay. How soon can you finalize your communications with BiteSquad in order for me to receive my refund?" I should say that it was my intention to make that statement because I did not get to finish. He raised his voice and began talking over me. Told me: "No maa'm we will not be calling BiteSquad. You will." I tried to talk, but couldn't. I managed to say: "Why are you yelling and talking over me?" He admitted it by saying: "I am because you're making accusations and we're not going to call anybody." *I then proceded as best I could to say to him that since he felt no responsibility in the matter, I would then proceed to contact the news channel and the Health Department with photos and receipts. Aside from the fact that I am a vlogger and I will ensure to spread the word. Owners/Managers/Employees need to be aware that in pretty much any situation in life one can with respect, empathy, and in this case, accountability resolve almost any situation. In some cases, there can be a 'turn around' if you wish. However, for him to call me with such an arrogant demeanor and tone and then proceed to yell at me, when my family was affected and we did not at any time proceed to yell or even make any rude statements, it's absolutely unacceptable. Up until he called, Ms. Ashley had thus far, handled the matter in a very professional manner and she can and should attest to the fact that when I called I proceeded to identify myself, provided the receipt number and total and calmly explained the matter without EVER being rude or unkind. Yet, she did not keep her word as it relates to being the one handling this throughout. Not happy. Will not EVER eat at this establishment and will proceed as stated to report the matter even further. I have supported this place fir a few years and even when their business was way down during COVID-19. Today I walk in and there are several front staff all ignoring the growing line of customers. I ask who can take an order and we are told only at the to go counter so we all shuffle down there. It was a bit confusing that would have easily been handled by a simple sign at each register simply saying closed see next register. When picking up my order the manager asked if she could help and when I mentioned this she got a very condescending tone. Look I get that everyone is struggling but no need to be nasty about it. McAlister's has never slumped on meat for the past 2 years I've been regularly going there. It seems there are new menu items every month, and every single one has been decadent.
