I came here expecting a good experience, but unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations. While the food is the same as always, the cleanliness of the place was really disappointing. The floors were dirty, and behind the counter there was food all over the floor, which also creates an unsafe environment for employees who could easily slip. The bathrooms were even worse. very unsanitary, with paper scattered all over the floor and a toilet that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days. There were no hand towels available either. I've only been to Cava a couple of times but the experience at this location was way unlike any other! Don't base your opinion of Cava on this location! The service was so rough! Several people just standing around while one person helped us. They seemed way more focused on doing other things than helping their actual customers! We had four bowls - it took so long to get in and out of this place! They were out of so many things. It seemed like they kept trying to discourage us by claiming long wait times for them to prepare the things we wanted to order. We were not able to get what we came for! The staff kept whispering among themselves and making jokes back and forth. It was a very unpleasant experience, over all - which is so sad for a Cava! read more

Don't let the outside appearance deter you from coming inside this very welcoming restaurant! Cava was my staple lunch spot in California and I'm stoked there's one here in Columbia! The staff were super nice and the place was clean. Food was fresh and prepped. Drinks were all full and ice cold! If you've never been to Cava, it's like a Mediterranean Salad cuisine spot. CAVA has become my favorite go-to for lunch! I typically place my order through their app to save time and pick it up from the shelves by the counter. They do have signature bowls and pitas, but I prefer to make my own. The Harissa Honey Chicken, Spicy Lamb Meatballs, and Braised Lamb are all SO tasty and flavorful. The veggies are always crunchy and fresh, and the selection of dips and sauces is fantastic. For drinks, I'm obsessed with their Blueberry Lavender drink, but the Cucumber Mint Lime is also delicious and refreshing. Their rewards program is also pretty good if you visit often. I have visited this location three times and each time I visited the service is always excellent. The server/cashier always pleasant and patient and they give you your money worth. Now the smell in building was not pleasant, I almost walked out because it smelled horrible. I am not sure how that table ate inside. My food was fresh and delicious. Came here on a normal weekday night (around 8pm) on to be highly disappointed... The good: quality food with same consistent taste across locations. The bad: dirty (behind the counters & table where I sat by the window). smaller portions compared to other Cava locations (usually I'm able to take leftovers home), employee was dry mannered and rushed thru building my bowl. I didn't get the chance to tell him I wanted my vinaigrette on the side. Avocado didn't come sliced... just a half of avocado on the bowl. Normally I wouldn't nitpick on the cons (the friendliness of staff, dirty counters, avocado) but when it's slow and and you walk in to see 5-6 employees standing behind the bar just lounging around it is kind of frustrating. Having paid $18 (Harissa Avocado bowl and small fountain drink) I believe the portion should've been bigger and the add ins should've been cut appropriately (avocado in this case). After all, you pay for convenience. Take aways: maybe another location nearby is worth the drive. read more

I tried Cava for the first time and truly enjoyed it. My friend described it as a Mediterranean Chipotle. You can either make a selection from the menu or build your own. I decided to get a bowl. I started with a green base, they also have rice, grains, or pita. Next I selected up to three dips, select a main (protein), add as many toppings as you want, and a sauce. Definitely get the toasted pita chips, YUM! For drinks they have fresh teas and juices, a soda fountain, or drinks in a cooler. The food was fresh and delicious. I mixed my teas, so refreshing! It was the perfect day to sit outside and enjoy fresh air. The young man preparing my bowl was helpful. The decor was very basic but the restaurant was clean. The rewards program a bonus. i frequent usually once week and have been for about 7-8 months. I love this brand so much , I bought the stock. the food has been surprisingly consistent, I have come to really look forward to my Thursday night treat. Great food. The restaurant was pretty small inside, and it got crowded quickly. The parking can be challenging during lunch hours. The food is a bit overpriced, but everything is nowadays. We explained it was our first time eating at Cava and Donte took the time to patiently explain what our menu options were and also made sure we understood the ingredients too. He was so friendly and helpful and prepared our food with extra care, even ensuring we got the freshest avocado! Everything was so delicious and ample servings too. Don't skip out on the pita chips, prepared fresh by the minute! In addition to regular soda and tea there were several flavorful, specialty drink choices too (blueberry-Lavender, cucumber-mint, citrus-lemonade, ...) I started going to the Irmo location first because the staff was very nice but after 3 weeks that changed. I now travel an additional 10 minutes to the Lexington location because they never disappoint. The ladies at the Irmo location should work in the back and Not take orders. Especially the one with the bright red lipstick! Food is even prepared better at the Lexington location! read more
