Intimate room with plenty of seating for the comedy night.
    Greg M.

Attended comedy night at Di Prato's. A great time was had by all. (Well, except maybe that one table who didn't get the jokes!) What I loved: * everyone had table seats, which is rare for an affordable comedy evening. * small but thoughtful event menu. I went with their famous pimento cheese loaded fries - maybe bbq sliders or wings next time. *full bar, with a range of beer and wine including local Columbia Craft. *a range of comedians and a talented musician performance. Not everyone was ready for a night at the Apollo, but enough variety and different perspectives to keep interest and smiles all through the program *super staff. Welcomed from arrival, frequent (but not pushy) check-ins, and plenty of laughs together with other patrons. All in all, a really nice night. Look for information on table tents, eventbrite and Facebook.

My mom and I were driving through Columbia on the way to Charleston. Cute restaurant. Food was disappointing. I got a bacon & pimento cheese sandwich. I asked for it to be toasted and the bread was barely warm. The pimento cheese was really heavy. The sandwich wasn't good. I didn't think the side of chips was gonna be a store bought bag.

Food was great! We had a Triple Rueben, Vegetable Sandwich, Sailor Sandwich & the Caprese Panini. For Appetizers we had the Bacon Gouda Pimento cheese & White Cheddar Pimento Cheese. We ordered their housemade seasoned pita chips to scoop up the pimento cheese. Dessert was the tiramisu. The tiramisu was not our favorite.... Needs more espresso taste & less cream in our opinion. Our server was El, he was polite & helpful. The restaurant mainly serves breakfast & lunch & they are located near USC campus. We will definitely be back!

First time trying them because I was in the mood for a really good sandwich. It sits in the corner and not hard to get to. The parking lot is rather small. I sat outside because they have outside seating which was nice and the customer service was exceptional. They were so kind and prompt! I ordered a pomegranate mimosa, and the chicken salmanta on multi grain ciabatta bread with fries. It was so good! I'll definitely be back to try the breakfast menu and other menu item. Definitely check them out if you're in the mood for a nice sandwich or panini! The mimosas were really good too!

Our ROMEO group of seven went for lunch today. Got there at 11:15 and it was a great time to go. Immediately seated and our waitress Linsday took our drink orders. Followed up with our meal orders. We started with an appetizer of the regular pimiento cheese and the pita bread. Still the best Pita triangles anywhere. Warm and nice little crispyness on the outside but soft on the inside. Everytime we've been here we order these ( and I think everyone else must too). Three of us ordered the Patrami with Swiss cheese sandwichies. We had an order for the lunch special Thanksgiving dinner sandwich, a shrimp Po'Boy sandwich and an order for a hot Italian Hoagie. The Po'Boy was very good with a nice remoulade sauce. The Hoagie was very good, warmed and with jalapenos on the side had a little kick to it. It wasn't as large as you get at some of the delis but it was very good. Everyone liked their dish. Lindsay was great and came around to check on us several times during the meal. Nice atmosphere...our average rating for today was a 4.25 and I'm sure we'll return.

My first time here and it was a great experience. It was Mother's Day wkend and it was jammed packed with a wait but since I was solo I was able to be seated right away. It did take a good min for my waitress to come over but it was because she was so busy with bigger parties so I was patient. Once I ordered, didn't take long for my food to come. I enjoyed it all. I got the crab cake Benedict with the potato casserole.

What a wonderful location for brunch if you find yourself in Columbia SC. Not far from the campus of the university of South Carolina. The service was wonderful. Very Southern with hospitality and attentiveness. The Charleston eggs Benedict on crabmeat was wonderful. The fresh fruit and the hash brown casserole was an added treat. A wonderful brunch location.

We love Di Prato's!!!!!! My boyfriend and I have always enjoyed coming for a nice lunch as they've got great food and service, but today's visit really sealed the deal for us. Keista was our waitress and she really deserves a huge shoutout because she was absolutely amazing. Throughout our whole visit she was extremely genial and helpful, making great food suggestions and overall being enjoyable to interact with. We ended up getting their Thursday taco salad, jalapeno pimento cheese fries, and a turkey Reuben with potato salad. We absolutely messed it up!! Thank you again to Keista for making us feel truly welcomed. Also want to give a shoutout to one of the hostesses, Kate, for being very kind and sweet upon our arrival and getting us seated exactly where we wanted.

This place is like a hidden gem. Randomly stopped by for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The food is really good. My server was awesome. She was so friendly and helped me figure out what to get since everything looked good. She let me sample the pimento cheese and I'm not a fan of that stuff but at this place I ate all of it. The tomato soup and grilled cheese was good. The salad was also good seems like they homemade the ranch. I also got a slice of cake too and it was delicious. Overall I will be back.

We stumbled on Di Prato's after reviewing Yelp posts. The reviewers on Yelp got this one right. We enjoyed a Sunday lunch of sandwiches. Honestly the pimento cheese and pita triangles were some of the best I have ever eaten. The was a wait but well worth the time. This is a must stop if in Columbia.

Stopped in for a late lunch, and just wow!! I was blown away by the interior, the variety, and the customer service, which is top-tier. The shrimp po boy is good. The shrimp are fried and seasoned well, and they are a good size. The bread on the sandwich was spot-on. The wrong bread can throw a po boy off, but this one was the right type of bread for a good po boy. It's definitely enough to get full and then have some leftovers. I did request to hold the ketchup, but it was on the sandwich, which took away from my fully enjoying the sandwich. The fries are pretty standard. They came out hot which was great.  The Di Prato's combo, although I modified it so there was no ham or sprouts, was amazing as well. I will have to return for their brunch and mimosas. The cookies are good as well!

This is the best pimento cheese in all of South Carolina - I'm convinced of it. This deli is affordable (maybe because it's so close to the university) and the pita chips are fresh, buttery and warm when they arrive to your table. No complaints. Get the jalapeño pimento cheese - all of the flavor without the heat!

Went here with my girlies after our bat party. The weather was so nice, unfortunately the table was not on flat ground so my chair kept wobbling. Not too bothersome though! The food was tasty and service was great! Would definitely recommend!

The food was on point! The gyro meat was seasoned to perfection. I opted to swap the rice out for their veggies and it was a great call. There were bell peppers, onions, tomatoes and mushrooms in there which complimented the meat perfectly. Their tzatziki is homemade and the perfect contrast to the dish. From the moment we stepped inside we were treated like family or close friends of the owner. The owner works in the kitchen but greeted us at the counter and helped answer all of our questions. He is extremely passionate about his food and you can tell he takes great pride in it through every delicious bite. Due to covid , they have limited staff and no servers but their dining room is still open. We thought we would be picking our food up at the counter. Nope, the owner graciously served us and would not accept anything less. The owner apologized for the way covid has impacted how they do business (which he did not need to do) and he was overall just a very genuine and pleasant guy. He even offered us complimentary damascus bread and baklava. Here's what we tried: -Damascus bread and hummus - the damascus bread was light and crisp with sesame seeds sprinkled on top and drizzled with olive oil. It was a perfect pairing with the hummus. The hummus was some of the best I have ever had. Creamy , with a hint of paprika. -Chicken, kufta and veggies special over yellow rice with a Greek salad. Flavorful, tender and delicious!! It was so good. The owner also brought us some tzatziki sauce and a spicy tobasco based sauce. Both sauces complimented the meats well . The owner asked us how we liked the spicy sauce to which we replied how great it was and he then brought us some to take home. It's delicious so definitely order some on the side! -Baklava - this heavenly Baklava combined honey-soaked layers of flaky phyllo pastry with chopped nuts. It was very good. I've always gone with and recommend the chicken kebab. It comes with about 4-5 pieces of grilled chicken, yellow rice, vegetables, and side of tzatziki sauce. The grilled flavor of the chicken just mixes so well with the rice, so having that clean "chicken & rice" meal while maintaining the awesome flavors. The menu is pretty diverse, despite Mediterranean being their speciality. They offer other American dishes like burgers or even pizza; never tried them though, but options are there to diversify. Right now due to Ramadan, their hours are adjusted for dining in, so they stop seating people around 7:30pm. To go orders are the only option; not a big deal for me though. I highly recommend people to try this place out if they haven't; seriously a solid 4 star dining establishment!

We tried to enter, but the door was locked. After a few mins. we tried again. Still locked. There is a table with chairs outside, so we sat and proceeded to wait. A few minutes later, the waiter (there was only 1), told us he hadn't bothered to open the door as the chef had not arrived yet. We said it wasn't a problem as we were not in a hurry and we could spend the time having something to drink (iced tea) and perusing the menu. After the chef finally arrived and we could order, we ordered the Dolmadaki to share and two entrees that came with salads. We told the waiter that we would order dessert after dinner. The waiter eventually brought out the salads. Nothing special, but very overdressed. He then brought out the entrees. (In between his service, he spent a lot of time looking at himself and fixing his hair in a mirror on the wall in this small dining room.) My chicken souvlaki was very dry, served in large lumps that were difficult to cut. Potatoes were ok. My husbands beef kabob was flavorless, and his red lentils also lacked flavor. At this point we were still the only patrons and Andrew was the only waiter. He then came over, and asked if we were ready for the check. We informed him that we each wanted to order baklava and that he needed to make sure that our check did not include the Dolmadaki which we never received. He acted surprised that we hadn't received the appetizer, in spite of the fact that we were the only patrons and he was the only waiter. He went back to the kitchen and when he returned he told us that they only had 1 baklava as the chef didn't bake any that day. We requested our check instead. He proceeded to say that the Dolmadaki would be out shortly, at which point we informed him that we did not want them as they were to be our appetizer, not something we wanted to eat after dinner. When he finally brought the check, I needed to ask him to remove the used dinner plates so that I could deal with the check. While I was very tempted not to leave any, left a very meager 12% tip that day. Due to all of the above (and the fact that the only bathroom had an overflowing trash bin, no hand sanitizer in the dispenser, and could have used a good general cleaning) we cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant. It was also interesting to note that when we left there were still no other patrons, but the restaurant next door was booming. Next time we'll try there.
