Lemon Pepper & Soy Garlic : 50 wings
Kelly L.

Called in to order for pickup because online the food items were a little difficult to understand. But phone call was super easy and quick. I got Lemon Pepper & Soy Garlic : 50 wings. They do orders in increments of 10s (10,20,30,40,50). It comes with a side of coleslaw or radish cubes. I also got 2 side orders of rice. Total came to around $93. I walked in and checked my order, make sure to ask for ranch. They don't automatically give, also I wish they gave me more than just one small container of the radish cubes. The wings were delicious both Lemon Pepper and the Soy Garlic were yummy. Everyone at the party liked it a lot and the size of the chicken wings was great! Would definitely come here to order again! They had a few tables indoor for dine-in. It's a very casual Korean fried chicken spot, if you're looking for a quick and easy meal.

Sooo good as takeout!! They are so friendly over the phone which is good because their menu is a bit confusing for me (the photos on Yelp of the menu don't match the menu on delivery apps). I recommend you just call if you're willing to pickup instead of get delivery. Even as takeout, the chicken is ALWAYS crispy! My friends and I love the soy garlic, although I think their consistency on the sauce is too thin bc it always pools are the bottom of the box and I have to dip the wings. I would recommend retossing them or asking for sauce on the side. I noticed recently that they're giving less pickled radish. Other than that, highly recommend these wings for crispy, delicious, and comforting Korean Fried Chicken. Parking: theres always street parking whenever I pull up on Atlantic Blvd, but the plaza has parking in the back, too! Very convenient.

First time visiting Running Chicks. Three of us dined in, and because I had never been there before, I called ahead of time to ask about the likelihood of getting a table if we went around 5 pm. The woman who answered the phone was very nice! Because it was a holiday (4th of July), I had no idea what it would be like. She said that it should be fine, and that usually they get busy around 6 pm. We ended up getting there about 5:30 pm. It was not crowded, and we got a table to dine in. We ended up ordering the Group Meal #1, which consisted of 10 pieces of wings (we got bone-in), 4 drumsticks, 2 sides and comp side. We opted for two orders of the fries, and the comp side was the pickled radish. Be sure to check in on Yelp to get 1 free wing when ordering wings! They also have a loyalty program--- I received a stamp card and I think I can get a free drink or something next time. The food was absolutely delicious! We got both the soy garlic and the lemon pepper. The chicken was cooked perfectly and juicy on the inside---so good freshly cooked and hot! I loved the soy garlic wings--it was my favorite. JJ commented that they were pretty messy and he needed wet ones. But I didn't mind. The lemon pepper wings were also delicious as well. Drumsticks are really large. The fries were okay---nothing special. We got the regular fries. I love the pickled radish, which goes so well with the chicken. Next time, I would try the coleslaw. I also think the chicken would be great with rice. The Group Meal #1 was a lot of food for the 3 of us, and I took home leftovers. I heated up the wings at home the next day, and they were so good. Ambience was nice, very pleasant and extremely cool, which was such a relief, given the sweltering heat outside. It even got a bit chilly, which was fine with me. There are at least 4 tables that comfortably seat 4 people, and one small table that seats 2. Most of the people were ordering their food to go. I liked dining in, because it was so good fresh and hot! Overall, a great experience. Highly recommended, and I will return. Service was very good and our order was prepared fairly quickly. There is parking in the rear, behind the restaurant.

Medium combo with bone-in wings, fries and soda

I was picking up some Thai food a few doors down and saw Running Chick's pop up on my GPS. Curious to see what it was I walked down and saw a cute Korean chicken shop. I decided to try it since the smells coming out the doorway were divine. I ordered a medium combo (10 bone-in wings with half soy garlic and lemon parmesan. Combo came with fries, small container of pickled radish and soda) for about $20. Food was fresh fried, hot and tasty. Good crunch and lemon parmesan was kind of addictive since it was so tangy compared to the soy garlic. Overall nice combo. Plenty of parking behind the strip mall.

So glad this place was opened on Christmas Day! We had were looking for food. We got the large combo for 2 , $29. 95 bone in. It came with 15 pcs, fries and 2 drinks plus pickles. We got all three flavors: garlic soy, lemon pepper and sweet spicy. The flavours were all great! Love the sweet spicy. I really enjoyed my fried wings and drumsticks.

They have a boneless chicken bowl?! So good. Amazing. Add eggs, definitely must have.

Food is quick, they have rewards coupons! Love the garlic Parmesan fries, soy garlic wings. You can ask for ranch!!!

Soy garlic on the left, lemon pepper at the top, and spicy chili at the bottom, right.
Eliza O.

Best lemon pepper wings ever! The soy garlic are also yummy. The spicy chili are good, but I prefer the other two. My mom liked those best, though, so it's a matter of preference. I was so sad when the one in Walnut closed, but glad there's still this one in MPK. Some may consider it a bit on the pricy side, but the flavor, texture, etc. is really good - much better than Wingstop, in my opinion. The place is fine and there's adequate seating if you're eating there, which we did. It's also great that they still have the stamp cards. I would give it 5 stars because I really love the wings and fries. Only two things put a slight damper on things for this location. 1) You're not able to redeem the item on the stamp card unless it's already been stamped from before. If you earn stamps to reach a free item on one visit, you have to redeem it on your next visit/purchase. At the Walnut location we were able to use it on the same visit. But I understand. 2) The girl at the counter was polite enough and brought the items to our table, which was appreciated. She wasn't very communicative, though, and a little direction on some things would've been helpful. It wasn't bad service, but it could've been better. Perhaps she had an off day? Although it's further for us to get wings, etc., if I'm in Monterey Park, I'm glad I can get the lemon pepper and soy garlic.

Their soy garlic is real good here. We ordered the group meal, which came with wings and drumsticks, and 2 sides. Only the wings come with sauce but you can dip the crispy drumsticks in the extra sauce for more soy garlic goodness. Service is great. Seating is limited inside and outside. There's free parking in their lot and on the streets.

What's up: Dinner time and we were looking to grab some Korean fried chicken. After a quick search on Yelp, we settled on checking this place out! Parking: Located at the Mar Center, there's plenty of parking available in the covered parking structure located behind the businesses. There's also limited street parking up front on Atlantic Blvd. Environment: There are two entrances: the front is accessible from the street on Atlantic Blvd and the back entrance is from the parking structure. The order counter is located up front with the menus hanging overhead on the TV screens. There's a chalk menu decorating the wall near the back entrance and the restroom is also located near there (ask the staff member for the code). There are a handful of tables for indoor dining and a couple up front for outdoor dining. Cute running chicks decorate the side of the wall. One busy staff member manning the counter to take phone and in store orders (poor guy was constantly busy). The fountain drinks are self served and the machine is located up front near the counter. There's also a stamp card that you can take advantage of; every $10 gets you a stamp towards free food! What was ordered: - Large Combo for Two (we got the bone-in wings in soy garlic and lemon pepper. Both were good but we enjoyed the tang of the lemon pepper over the sweet soy; wasn't too salty either! Fries, drinks, and coleslaw included in the combo) - Bibimbap (yummy. The sauce gave it a bit of spice but it was pretty good) Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. It was empty when we first arrived, but the crowd quickly came right after us. Oh and don't forget there's a Yelp Check In offer too! Credit cards are accepted.

Best part? We saw Shelly, our favorite girl that works here! She's always so sweet, kind, and welcoming every single time we visit. It honestly makes the experience even better when you're greeted by familiar friendly faces. We came around 7:30 PM and the wait was only about 10 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad at all considering how popular this place gets. Service was quick, efficient, and the food kept coming out fast. Plenty of tables inside, so it never felt too cramped. This time around we ordered: * Jap Chae * Bulgogi with Beef & Seafood Tofu Combo * Spicy Pork w/ seafood & beef combo * Teriyaki Chicken w/ seafood & beef tofu * Bulgogi with All Seafood & Beef Tofu Combo And of course... the unlimited refills of the banchan are always one of the best parts. Honestly, sometimes I think I could make a full meal out of just those alone. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and exactly why we keep coming back every couple of months. I will say the prices have slowly been creeping up little by little each visit, but honestly, we still enjoy it every time. Still our go-to tofu spot and definitely one we'll continue bringing family and friends to. Happy eats!

They like their savory food strictly savory. But this time, I didn't compromise. I went all in on the sweet combo: tteokbokki with honey butter chicken. Truly a match made in heaven. The tteokbokki delivers that perfect balance of heat and sweetness, with the sauce clinging beautifully to each chewy rice cake. Every bite is bold, glossy, and deeply satisfying. The pickled radish on the side adds just the right touch of brightness, cutting through the richness and refreshing your palate between bites. And the honey butter chicken? It arrives hot and audibly crunchy, each piece generously coated in that addictive sweet-savory seasoning. Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and dangerously easy to keep reaching for. This combo hits every note--spicy, sweet, crunchy, chewy, rich, and refreshing. Easily a five-star experience.

We came around 6pm and it changed for dine in option, a server was available this time to give us menus, take our orders at the table and provided banchan (side dishes) for us as well as water. There was a few other tables with us and the place still looks the same. I also noticed a QR code on the table which we didn't use but may be to help streamline ordering in case a server was too busy. The banchan is refillable upon request which we did ask and it was received! I am super happy to see fishcake, picked radish cubes, kimchi, and stir fried julienne potato. Here is what we got: An order of two boneless fired chicken (bulgogi and onion sauce, $3.50 extra for onion and it was worth it in my opinion!). Onion sauce was a nice creamy mild sauce over the chicken and slightly cooling effect to counter the spicy army stew. The bulgogi sauce was slightly spicy and sweet, since it was slightly spicy to my son, and he didn't want to try the onion one, we asked the server to add in a side of fries my son might not eat the chicken. The army stew spicy level cannot be modified and yes it was a little too spicy for me but I ate it well with chicken and fries. It came with a bowl of rice and fried egg on top. We didn't ask for more rice as there was plenty of food. I did enjoy the cheese covered spam slices, mini sausages, and fish cake in the stew, I didn't eat much of the noodles given how spicy it was. Once we finished eating we asked for a check and a to go box, the server was handling the tables by herself and was very attentive to us so she did a wonderful job. Overall, super happy I came back. We plan to com back to try their pancakes and tofu soup!

Here's what we ordered: **Beef Tofu Sou (Medium Spicy): Easily one of the worst tofu soup (soondubu) I've ever had. First off, when I added the egg, the soup wasn't boiling so the egg didn't cook through. The soup base hardly had any spicy kick. The soup itself was very bland and had no authentic soondubu flavor.
