I thoroughly enjoy this Runner's Route! I've been to a few shoe stores and running shops but none as treasured as this corner store. For me it's not just about a product, it's the people!!! I see Charles a lot on my visits and even asked for him this time! It was my first time in a while where I walked in and didn't see him there. I had to ask! He also knows about these milk chocolate frames I had my eye on, but didn't have the guts to purchase when I tried them on initially, and each return has been a big part of this lesson in, "just get the sunglasses girl. Just get them." They haven't had them in stock since. But Charles is always so kind when I come in looking for them and even took my name down for when they finally do arrive. Because they will! A girl can dream. But Charles wasn't there, and that's okay. I am in full support of his days off! Plus! I got to meet Aiya! Who is another wonderful employee!!! After hearing what I was looking for in my next running shoe, her first pick was the pair I ended up with. I told her I like to try on a few things at once and after my stroll around the store she had another pair as an option. But the first pair were Da Ones, hands down. Maybe I should've listened the first time. But I wonder if we would've had such a beautiful conversation otherwise. I had a great time at the Runner's Route! Great staff and great selection leads to great runs! I know it's gonna take some time to break in my new shoes, but I had a grand time on a 30 minute recovery run today. At times it felt as if I were flying! I wasn't even trying! Recovery run = minimal effort, right? Right. I walked into the right route. Hehe! Found a very nice stride. Thanks for the magic!

My husband and I came to Hawaii for our honeymoon and he wanted to stop by here since he is getting ready to run a marathon on December. We've had our fair share of awkward interactions at running stores since a lo of the employees have no idea what they're talking about. We were so excited to talk with the staff here because they actually knew what they were talking about. I feel like staff like this makes the experience that much more personable and special. We walked in just wanting to look around but left with a pair of runners that weren't even released in stores on the mainland. I'd definitely recommend stopping by here if you enjoy running both for fun or sport

So I had a great experience here. They opened at 10am right on time. I received great service and the ladies answered all my questions. I forgot to bring my socks, so they were kind enough to loan me some. Total Rookie mistake and I highly recommend you bring your own. They still have signs up asking that customers wear a mask, luckily I had one in my glove compartment . They have a great selection of shoes but they are kind of pricey. Expect to spend well over a $100. Here's some helpful hints 1. They offer a military discount on certain shoe brands. Hoka is not included in the discount but my ASICS were. 2. Bring your own socks and don't forget your mask! 3. You will not receive a refund of any type ... you will receive store credit which never expires. 4. They are currently hiring!

Asics best support!

Excellent customer service! Thank you very much charles! Needed to find myself a pair of shoes that'd help running much easier and better for my knees! Charles was very helpful and knowledgable! Answered all my questions and educated me on which shoes would be best for my needs. Would definitely be back!

$86.90 shoes and toe socks and out the door! Awesome!

Just went here for the first time. Michael and his coworkers were most knowledgeable and helped me find the perfect footwear for my 12+ hour shifts at Queens. I am so happy! What a great store, well sticked with multiple options and genuinely friendly service! I am very happy and the price was excellent!

My only regret is not stopping by Runners Route sooner. This is the best store in the Ala Moana neighborhood for sports shoes and apparel. It has a wide variety of running shoes, many of which are on clearance. I compared the prices at Runners Route with Amazon, and you will find better deals here! You will also receive individualized attention that you will not get at big box stores. The sales associates are very friendly, attentive, and open to having you try a number of shoes until you find one that is the best fit. I love walking and I walk a considerable amount everyday. Walking is another form of meditation for me. Putting on my headphones to listen to music or a podcast while walking to work is a ritual I look forward to every weekday morning. On average, I walk approximately 15,000 steps everyday, excluding the exercise I get at the gym. On the weekend, I can walk up to 30,000 steps if I decide to walk to and from Downtown and Waikiki. That means I put a lot of mileage on my shoes. Over the weekend I discovered that the soles of the Børn walking shoes I bought only five months ago were already crumbling apart. I wanted to replace them with a pair of versatile and comfortable running shoes that I would be able to wear when walking around town, running at the gym, or hiking Diamond Head and Makapu'u. I saw that Yelp friend Kathy H. had recently bought several pairs of Hoka One One at Runners Route, and was happy with her purchases. I had worn Adidas, Brooks, and Sketchers sneakers before, but never Hoka. After doing some research on the internet, I learned that the maximalist Hoka shoe was founded by two French trail runners in 2009 when minimalist shoes, like Vibram FiveFingers, were considered trendy. Hoka is the antithesis of that. It is known as providing maximum cushioning. With all due respect to barefoot runners, I like as much cushioning in my shoes as possible! So, when I read that Hoka is, as Runner's World calls it, "the king of cushion", my decision was set to purchase a pair. Runners Route has Hoka One One shoes for men and women. For women's Hoka shoes, Runners Route sells the Bondi 6 and Clifton 5. One of the sales associates offered to have me try on the standard B width size as well as the wide sized shoe. I chose the standard B width because the wider shoe felt too big for me. I immediately wore my new Hoka shoes to the gym and wore them on my walk to work this morning. Hoka is now my new favorite brand of sneakers. I haven't worn a sneaker this comfortable in a long time. Hoka lives up to its reputation as being the most cushioned running shoe that is also lightweight. I will be buying my next pair of Hoka shoes at Runners Route.

Nice place! They took time to look for a pair of tennis shoes that would help my son with his running issues.

It is a shoe store that specializes for the working women especially for those with small feet in brand names like Athena Alexander, Callisto and Italian Shoemaker. I like that they provide a wide variety of styles, colors, sizes, low heels as well as high heels and prices are affordable. The owner of the store is not only friendly but also very helpful and will assist you in finding the perfect shoe. I had one of those days where I was on my way to buy lunch when all of a sudden the strap on my left sandal broke. It was a fairly new style of Callisto and I had bought it at Macy's or it could have been Nordstrom. Desperately seeking for a shoe to take its place I thought of the Shoe Box which surprisingly was not far away from where I was. I popped in and explained my situation to the owner and she found me a great pair of Italian Shoemaker shoes for $50. I wore the shoe the remainder of the work day and encountered no blisters, no sore feet and actually since the shoe was light it was very comfortable on my feet. If you are ever in the downtown area I recommend you check this place out.

I have boxes of Damiani, Naturalizer, Italian, Callisto, and Athena Alexander shoes, and usually the same style in at least two colors. The convenient location, reasonable prices ($19 and upwards, typically in the $45-$59 range), and variety of styles make this an ideal place to shop for the working girl, hmm... let me rephrase... make that "business professional woman." If you work in downtown, you have probably already stopped by on your lunch break to chat with the owner while she helps you navigate the myriad of boxes to find the right size for you. She does buying trips several times a year and brings back the latest styles. If you're a common size, you may have to wrestle with another customer for the shoe, so the best thing is to ask the owner when the new styles are coming in and plan accordingly. Have fun!

He paid cash and was asked to sign a Sneaker Condition & Final Sale Waiver himself, without a parent or guardian present. The shoes were worn only twice, one shoe completely separated from the sole and the other also started coming apart. This happened while my son was at school. He had to walk very slowly for hours, was late to class, and was embarrassed when other students laughed at him because of the condition of his shoes. I contacted Original Grail and provided photos of the damage. They declined a refund, exchange, or store credit, citing the waiver and the age of the sneakers. I asked them to reconsider because the waiver was signed by my 13-year-old son without a parent or guardian present, but they maintained their decision. Original Grail later stated to me in writing that the sneakers were manufactured in 2014, while the handwritten information on the waiver they provided appears to reference 2011. I understand that older collectible sneakers can deteriorate with age. However, as a parent, I am very disappointed that an older pair with this risk was sold to a 13-year-old, that he was permitted to sign the final-sale waiver himself without a parent present, and that both shoes began failing after only two wears. I am sharing our experience so other parents and customers can understand the risks and the store's final-sale policy before making a purchase.

For a brief moment I enjoyed joining a 5K and 10K walks/runs and with that I had no idea what type of shoes is for me as many recommend what is the best somehow it jut never really worked for me though the stability and comfort is what many brands to encourage they have my feet just says differently. There are moments when packet pick ups was here at the Running Room and with that I always somehow never leave without purchasing something as they just have so many items besides shoes and socks and the perfect location on Kapahulu with free parking does make it an easy place to shop as well and on this sad to hear of its closure did take me by surprise so I just had to pay them a visit and I guess many have known about it as basically majority of their inventory has already been sold. Luckily for my larger sized feet there was my size left though the color situation was sparse understandably I did find one that looked promising and decided to get my very first pair of Hoka. I haven't treated myself to a brand new shoe in years so it felt like a cloud but being cautious since my legs hurt the next day. Not exactly sure when their last will be but glad to have given them one final visit and hope that the future will grand for this part of Kapahulu. Thank you!

Yelp Ghost, you're killing me!!…read more Since my previous review disappeared, I'll write this new review based on three of my most recent visits. I was looking for a new walking and running shoe so I immediately went to Food Locker at Ala Moana Center. They are located on the top floor across Hoka. Since my sister swears by Hoka and I recently bought my dad a pair of Hoka's, I looked at that section first. My cousin recommended a brand called ON so I also checked that section out after. Now I could compare them myself. I picked a pair from each brand and a SA named Joshua helped me. He was friendly and very knowledgeable about both brands. Joshua offered exceptional customer service. He didn't take long to bring out my size to give them a try. I personally didn't care for how the Hoka's made me feel. It felt like a rocking motion but maybe I need to acclimate to them? The ON pair was extremely light and very comfortable. It was a hard decision so I told Joshua I would think about it and come back. I ended up coming back to pick up the ON shoes another day. He was working so he was able to assist me with bringing the pair out for me to purchase. They offer you to join their FLX rewards program and to do a survey of your visit. With Joshua's excellent customer service, I made sure to do it. To my surprise, I received a $10 gift certificate to use on my next purchase after completing the survey. It came in handy as I wanted to get my father-in-law a pair before we flew out to visit my in-laws. Of course my dad wants a pair too lol. Great option to purchase sneakers, socks or sports apparel.

This gal isn't really a shoe shopper but my feet is always in desperate need for a comfortable pair and I've been relying on Foot Locker for that though at one point they had great selection for women as I've always came here versus the Women's Foot Locker which sadly has closed now find that the selection here for my personal preference is meh! The staff here is great as they greet you but I'm a browser and do need time to look so I don't mind that solidarity and to think through the prices as well though sometimes have the need to ask for their knowledge and suggestion which is something we all should do especially mine is mostly for work. Their insoles are a great item to keep in mind...get them and keep the receipt with the box because once they wear out it's use you can have them replaced for free as most time the insoles wear out before the shoe so you don't have to purchase another if it's in good condition and offers like this is wonderful new to keep my feet happy. Thank you!
