I've only been here a few times, and originally I went to help my daughter when she was running cross country for high school. They have a very high level of attention to detail that I have not seen anywhere else. Furthermore, when I went to buy a pair of running shoes for myself after 1 million years they took care of me in a very positive way. The first person I dealt with didn't give me the attention that I was looking for, but when I went back, they more than made up for it by fitting me perfectly in a pair of shoes that lasted me for tons of miles worth of running! I would recommend this place to anybody that is a professional runner on down to a casual mall Walker. I don't know about other stores, but the one in Lone;Tree is superb! They did not try to upsell, but rather found the right shoe for me and what I wanted to accomplish. They could've charged me way more, but never did. read more

When I ran xc in high school I absolutely LOVED runners roost - really felt like a meeting place for the local running community. Staff always went above and beyond for all levels of runners. When i moved back to CO, I went straight here for my running needs. But in the last few years this place has REALLY gone downhill (in the bad way, for runners). Staff is impersonal, not very helpful, snarky, and rude. From trying to get new shoes to even just loading up on some gear for a big run, I rarely leave this store satisfied. I'll add the caveat that I've had a couple decent interactions with individual staff, but overall feels like this store no longer cares about running or runners. Really a bummer. read more

Very disappointed with treatment I received for a recent purchase I made at this store. Last November I purchased a pair of Brooks tennis shoes similar to ones I purchased back in 2017, also by Brooks, which have been the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. Unfortunately the new pair has developed "pilling" in the fabric under the balls of my feet. Initially I suspected a crease in my socks, but further investigation showed small bumps in the fabric directly under where the balls of my feet rested. Obviously a defect in the shoe. I showed this to one of the sales ladies at Runners Roost, and she actually suggested that my foot must have been sliding sideways! These shoes fit like gloves. The sales person offered no compensation whatsoever, and seemed annoyed I had brought this up. They've lost a customer, and I would advise people to shop elsewhere. So i have probably had something like 80-100 pairs of shoes over the course of my 30+ years, and this was hands down the best shoe-buying experience of my life. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the incredibly knowledgable woman who helped me, but she was pretty with long, dark hair and also worked as a personal trainer. Turns out I've been wearing the wrong size shoe for God knows how long and she helped me find a pair that I swear were made for my feet. I went running for the first time in years and while the rest of my body and lungs wanted to die, my feet felt amazing! Oh and thanks to her advice, I didn't get shin splints either. Outstanding, exemplary service. I went in needing a new pair of shoes, and was instantly greeted by the amazing, knowledgeable, Brittany. She yelled me understand the newest running shoes, took her time helping me get a pair I felt great about buying and made myself feel good about wearing. Visit #: 2 Will be back My only other RR experience was my freshman year of high school, surrounded my other track amateurs and Old Man Spiller (Coach Dave Spiller who to this day is one of those people I remember as an influencer in my life). Very glad I came back. Mark was the one to help me find a shoe for my flat feet and goofy stride. He was patient and able to interpret my supposed likes and dislikes (which came out in the form of, "I like my feet to feel like they're in a cage"..."this one feels weird"..."I like soft and sturdy at the same time" -- aka I'm not great with words, or with knowing what my feet need). After giving me a pair to try he listened to my comments, watched my gait on the treadmill, and brought out a new pair. I ended up with a pair of Asics that feel supportive, but not too bouncy. He was also able to answer some general running questions that I had, and was so friendly during the entire visit. Major kudos to you, Mark. Now, I've logged about 56 miles in my new guys and generally feel great--hit my first ten miler 3 weeks after getting the shoes and it was the best run I've ever had. Service: 5/5 read more

Always satisfied with the service received at this location! Most recently I went in to see what I could do about a pair of shoes that had worn down rather quickly. I wasn't expecting anything considering I had worn them for 6 months but they the manager John noticed it was a defect and not normal wear and tear and exchanged them on the spot! I was so impressed with the level of knowledge and customer service. I won't go anywhere else for my running needs. This place rocks! Went into Runner's Roost to get a good shoe after suffering a setback with Morton's neuroma. The guy (Javier I believe) was super helpful and I tried on a few shoes that he recommended with a wide toebox. Turns out the one I liked they did not have in my size so he offered to get it from their main Denver location for delivery that day or the next. Great! Fast forward to the next day and I go into a completely empty store around 11 AM. There is a bald guy there who seems visibly annoyed that I am there to pick up my shoes. He asks if they called me and I said yes. So he goes and gets the shoes for me to try on. I pull them out and they feel pretty good but it is obvious they are the wrong ones. I asked him if this model comes in a different color because these just don't look right. He gives me attitude and acts like I am wrong! I continued to ask questions about the shoes while he uses a roller on his recently exercised calves, which was 10,000 X more important to him than a customer purchasing shoes in an empty store. I continue to ask normal questions about the particular model and other sizes in stock and whether they have different colors for the wide version, etc. to see where the mistake might be and he keeps sighing and frowning and acting super annoyed. I was wondering if it was me so I ask my wife who had seen this all go down "Is it me or does this guy have an attitude?" She says the guy is a huge db and she can't believe we are sitting here taking this. As he was going to the back to check shoes we told him to forget it and left. To the first guy who helped me out with my shoes and my kids and the local running clubs, thank you. But I can't excuse the second day as it was probably the worst customer service I have ever experienced in Denver. I will not be returning to Runner's Roost. read more

Decent selection of shoes and running apparel but customer service has consistently been pretty bad. Was in on Dec 8th and waited while other customers were assisted. Several employees in a row rang up customers then went into the back and did not return. It was ridiculous that I was waiting 20+ min with only one other customer in the store before one finally emerged from the back room to assist me. Will be ordering online from now on. read more

You have to be a substandard running store for a runner to give you less than 4 or 5 stars, period. This is my go to place when I do not feel like driving to Run Colorado. I like it because they offer much better deals on gels than Run Colroado, and they have very similar pricing on other gear as well as a knowledgeable staff. I bought the best pair of shoes I have ever owned, my Hoka One One Stinson Trails (10 dollars cheaper than many competitors). I have only put around 65 miles on them in the past 3 weeks, I am pretty early in my training for my ultra. I love the shoes, they have held up well on my Pikes Peak and Colorado trail runs, and they would not be something I owned without a recommendation from this store. Really helped with some IT band pain I was having, its almost gone. This is also were I get all my gels now because of the great price. I had bought box of Honey Stinger gels, always worked great for me in the past. They are now making me nauseated I have noticed on long runs, Time to switch I think. read more

Perfect fit every time and they take the time to fit you. Running shoes are difficult to purchase with all the different brands. But it you just sit back relax and tell them what you want to do and your weight(it's imporatant), You'll get the best fit ever. I love these guys. Runner's Roost has always offered great service, whether I'm there for a new pair of shoes, clothing, socks, or even just gels. I'm usually greeted when I come in, and I'm always asked if I need help (especially when I'm staring at their great wall of running shoes). If I need a gait analysis in order to make certain I'm in the correct shoe, they're certainly willing to help (they did this for me on what appeared to be a very busy Saturday morning). PLUS, this location has a great Thursday evening run club. They'll often run the nearby Bluffs, which is good for a soft surface, and for hill training. You can meet new people this way, and you often get to wear test shoes and other gear. Finally, once in a while you can win shoes or other stuff in a raffle. All in all, a great running store with superb employees, promoting the sport extensively in the area. read more

I was a long time customer of Runner's Roost and initially loved it, but over last several years have noticed a terrible degradation in service. For too long (2 years+), I ignored the incredible rudeness, arrogance, self-importance, and terrible customer service provided by the employees there. In any case, since I do try to buy local I bit the bullet and went in last December. Long story short, I was pressured into buying a pair of shoes that I didn't really want. After two uses I had excruciating foot pain (and had to stop running for 3+ mos) even though my feet were fine before and I was easily doing 8+ mile runs with no problems. In any case, I saw a podiatrist who indicated I had nerve damage in my foot - roughly $1000 dollars later and 2+ most of treatments later, I went back to the shoes I know work for me, found a better local running store where the people are actually friendly, don't act like they're God's gift to the running world, and actually listen. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere... If you want a referral (podiatrist or running store), I'd happily provide one, but lest readers think I'm some paid schill for another running store, I'll leave that out of the review... I came in on a Saturday evening. There were 2-3 staff and maybe 6-7 customers. I was in the store for about 10 minutes and had no idea what to get. No one came up to talk to me or even say hello during the 10 minutes, so I left and went to Big 5 Sporting Goods and had help the moment I walked up to the shoe selection. I'm a pronator and was hooked up with a pair of shoes for this problem. They cost about $40-$50 less than what I was looking for at Runner's Roost and after 4 runs they feel great and offer a lot of support and comfort. read more

The store allowed me to swap out a pair of Hoka's that I'd run 7 miles in for a new pair a half size smaller and when that pair had a defect they exchanged them right away.
