Went to spend the dollars I earned at a prior shopping trip. He was looking for shoes and I wanted sandals. He helped me find some and he tried several styles but nothing was comfortable as we would have liked. So we purchased my sandals. I went here after shopping at the DSW in Park Meadows, since I need shoes the same height as the walking boot. Most of my shoes have high heels, or the heels are too low. I was hoping to find boots. I found a pair at Park Meadows, but they weren't quite perfect. I did find a pair of loafers and a pair of booties at this store. The vibe here is weirdly depressing. I think that it's the yellowish lighting, maybe? Also, oddly, there was only ONE MK bootie--the left--in the box, and it had a security tag on it. I had to find an employee (possibly the manager?) to ask for the other shoe, since I can only wear a shoe on my right. She said to give her the left so she could swap them, then said, "Oh, never mind, it has a security tag." Very peculiar. Have never seen that in any other DSW, even on $400 Stuart Weitzmans. I ended up buying them. It would have been annoying to go and find her to retrieve the left shoe. Also, there aren't enough seats to try on shoes, nor mirrors. Park Meadows is much better equipped. The cashier was cheerful and friendly, so this visit ended on a happy note. read more

TERRIBLE customer service! They didn't have a shoe I wanted in my size, so they told me to go home and order it online. Went online and could not find it by brand or product description. Called the store to see if they could help me find it and/or online. Described the shoe in great detail to the woman who answered the phone, told her I was there earlier and saw it but not in my size. She absolutely refused to get a visual (in retail, this means physically going to look for it). She just kept typing in keywords in the website, which I told her I had done. I asked if there was someone else on the floor who could get a visual, she absolutely refused. Pure laziness and terrible customer service. I ended up going to a different DSW where the associates were friendlier and more helpful. read more

The manager of this store (gal with Glasses didn't catch her name )wouldn't honor a $5 coupon since it expired last night! Ok, but I would think of a person was going to spend over $100 for a couple of pairs of shoes $5 to promote good will wouldn't be that big of a deal. However,the cashier was so nice! I absolutely love this place because I can order online and return at this store. It's not very far from my house! I really love browsing their clearance racks because there's always something cool to check out. Especially since my feet are pretty large for a woman! A DSW near me? Yes, please!! No more treks down to Park Meadows to get my shoe fix. I finally have a store close to SE Aurora! Yay! This one is off the vortex that is Arapahoe & Parker Road and is smaller than the Park Meadows one, but still has a nice selection. I also like that the clearance section is set back in another room. It is quieter and a nicer store to look around in than its Lone Tree sister. If you don't know DSW, it stands for Designer Shoe Warehouse. It is not a fancy schmancy shoe store known for service or hand holding. It is a big ass store with tons of selection - rows and rows and rows of it. It is overwhelming at times! There is so much there. Still that is what I love, I can get a running shoe, a sexy pump and discounted designer bag all in one store. It ain't pretty - by any means and yes you might have to track someone down if you have a question, but it is awesome for what it is! I love their rewards program - earn points for free gift certificates and other perks throughout the year. Awesome!!! read more

I'm usually not a fan of DSW, but this is a much nicer location than the one at flatirons. It is a little smaller than the other ones I have been in, but seemed to have my size in all the shoes I looked at, which never happens. And I know the size thing is a common complaint. If you are looking for shoes for a specific season i.e spring/summer start looking early! Once it starts to get warm out all the good stuff is gone. read more

I was looking for boots. I had something specific in mind: size wide, low or no heel. The selection was poor for those specifications. Almost nothing in sizes 6 through 7 or wide. Couldn't find anything under $50. Not a single salesperson approached me. No one even visible on the floor acting as a salesperson or even just stocking. I finally settled on some rather ugly shoes because they were wide, in my size and somewhat appropriate for winter. $50, overpriced. There weren't any sales or deals, just some random promise of possibly getting cash off the next purchase. There won't be a next purchase from me. read more

Not a great place for guys shoes unless you are looking for dress shoes, but there are name brands for the ladies. The sale section has never particularly impressed me in its cost or its product offering. Back to the review for the guys, DSW has a bathroom, water fountains, and leather seats in the front to wait on. If you like crocs, they have them. read more

Stopped in today to browse and was pleasantly surprised by my experience here. First, the store is very nicely decorated, creating less of the warehouse feel. (True, you *are* in a warehouse while shopping here, but the lighting, colors, curtains, and large chandelier make it a little less obvious.) Second, rows and rows and rows of shoes. This store seems larger than Park Meadows, but I can't state that as a fact. I liked that the clearance section had it's own room. I found a few great pairs on clearance, although the clearance prices weren't all that amazing. Bought them anyway because they were too cute to pass up. While waiting in the check out line I heard the clerk mention the DSW reward program to a new customer. She told her that she'd receive a birthday coupon as part of the program, and i had to wonder where mine was, having just turned 30 last Sunday. I asked my clerk when it was time to pay, and although they only send the birthday reward every other year (eh?) she gave me $5 off today. She didn't even ask for my license! So, super experience and I may go out of my way to visit this DSW when I want to avoid the chaos of Park Meadows. read more

They recently reorganized the store and it is easy to find what you are looking for. My husband picked up some shoes for work (2 pairs) and while I was waiting for him I found a pair of short boots for 70 percent off plus I had a $10 off coupon so they only cost me $20 bucks! How can you not by them? This is when I typically find shoes - when I am not actually looking for them. All told we hit it at the right time - his shoes were 40 percent off so between discounts and coupons we got out of there for just shy of $100. The customer service is quite poor. They do not make it easy to do business, and I walked out because they wouldn't order an existing pair of shoes that was already in stock but out of my size- they basically forced me to pay for them first before I even got to try them on to ensure they fit. $150 sale lost as a result. Also really bad phone service experience too over the phone. It took over hour to get through to a rep who couldn't even modify or cancel an online order same day a few hours later, which seems silly. They forced me to take the shoes and return them to a store once they arrived. Overall I will definitely be avoiding DSW for future shoe purchases. read more

My son purchased shoes here last week and decided to return them yesterday, new, in the box. I went with him but did not go to the counter with him. When I met him at the door, he stilled had the box and said they would not return them without a receipt. As we walked to the car, I was telling him I didn't think that was a policy if he had the card on which he purchased them. I took them back in and asked the man who had been "helping" my son, why he would not return the shoes, if my son had his card. He told me that they couldn't return anything purchased online at the store. (Also not true) so I told him that they were purchased, at that location, last week. He said "Oh, he told me he bought them online." I told him that was not true and at that point, the manager, who had been listening, walked away. I told him he must not have understood my son, but he persisted in the lie that my son told him they'd been purchased online. I truly believe that they were not willing to even bother looking up my sons' card and were treating him poorly because he's a 16 year old boy. They were basically acting like he had stolen the shoes, and then lied to me to cover up their behavior. I ended up getting his refund but I will never, ever shop at this location again. If they cannot treat every customer fairly, I won't do business with them, plain and simple, nor should anyone else. Be it ageism, sexism or racism, I will not tolerate poor behavior or lying. read more

DSW is hit or miss. My experiences are usually best when I'm not looking for anything in particular and just browsing to see if something calls to me. I typically go to the Park Meadows one, but they didn't have my size in the perfect hiking boots I tried so tried this one out. This store is NICE! And, the employees were very attentive and helpful (not always the case at DSW). Sadly they also did not have my size, but they did look in their system to see if anyone else did. I can never find wide shoes here that are truly wide, even though labeled wide, they still seem very narrow. I guess this can be blamed on the manufacturer of the shoes they carry, but they are happy to place an online order for you for a wide size if it is available. Just seems that when I go to the store to try on the shoes that I ordered, they are just as narrow as the non-wide. Other than that, the rewards program is great and the selection is fairly good.
