First time today with RunBuddy in Mesa. They don't service San Tan Valley, so drove up to my daughters house this morning to try it out with Gabrielle, my 18 month old Shepherd. Great experience. They let her sniff around the van a bit before hooking her up on the treadmill. Worked like a charm. She got a great 30 minute run/walk at a pace I'm not able to give her. GREAT exercise both physical and mental for these higher drive breeds. As others have said, there are no motors on the treadmills, so the are quiet, and the van has two celing mounted A/C units to keep it quite chilly despite the 110' temps outside. Remember to bring your pup a bowl and some water. This is going to be a regular thing for us now. Well spent $75. read more

This is such a great idea. In this heat it's hard for us to excersize the pups and not worry about heat stroke. Here they run or walk at their own pace in a van that is cool inside. No motors on the treadmills so they set their own pace. Ella was amazing getting my pup to feel comfortable he was very scared. They had a couple of harness options. She had him come in first and then Stella who is now a pro at this and looks forward to the van pulling up to the house. read more

David at Run Buddy is fricking amazing! We recently got a 6-month-old American Bully, Freddy, who hasn't had much socialization yet and was pretty nervous in the van at first. But David immediately recognized why Freddy was anxious and worked his magic to help him feel safe and comfortable. Within minutes, Freddy went from unsure to running on the treadmill like a boss! I have had the worst experience with this company. I have a 10-month-old golden retriever who needs exercise. The park is too hot in the morning, so I thought I would hire this company. I started out reaching to them, and they told me the rate was $75 per 30 minutes. I asked if there might be a discount if I booked three to four sessions per week. The answer was NO. Finally, because this pup needs to be exercised, I agreed to three $75 sessions per week. Then, after receiving a confirmation text saying that they would be there today, they didn't show. When I reached out to find why they were late, they told me, "you didn't respond to your confirmation text", (which in fact I did) "so we canceled it". This is the absolute worst company ever. Do not use them. Do anything else you can do. Unfortunately, they are the only dog exercise van company in Scottsdale. If you live in any other part of town, there are several other options, and I highly recommend you use them. They are less expensive. They are able to reach easier. They are more accessible. Runbuddy is awful., Plain out awful. And the people who run the company are horrid. Avoid, avoid, avoid at all costs. read more

Just use Run Buddies for the first time for two small dogs. I was very impressed with how Brandon handled them. One was more skittish than the other and I thought he'd be more upset than he was. He's going to be slower but the other one Bella did really well. It's just too hot out here for the dogs to go outside and mine needed to do something. So this is what I'm gonna do. He started last summer as a way to keep him active in the summer months, the hot summer months where always difficult for him due to not being able to be outside, the hikes being cut significantly shorter and as the owner it was very difficult to balance keeping him safe but getting his energy out. Every trainer we have had has been incredible with him!!! They where so patient with him for his first few session and keep him going full throttle for the 30mins!!! While keeping him engaged but still making sure he's not over exhausting himself and giving him water. They even helped with a new rescue my mom adopted, that had mistrust of people, and could be aggressive. David and the trainers took their time with him to the point that even the new rescue would hope in the van and would let them handle him and let him!! Cody really gives it his all on the mill and Shasta does a slight jog but both come into the house after their session with the proverbial "tails waggin' and tongues draggin' ". This is one of the best ways of exercising our four-legged besties in the hot Phoenix weather and even when not so hot out. Our "athletes" wait at the front door and become so excited when they see the van pull up! Speaking of vans, the vans are very well air conditioned to keep our athletes cool and comfortable, the van drivers/"coaches" are cheerful and kind and do a great job of encouraging the dogs to keep them engaged and happily running! We've been using David & his crew for almost a month on our 5 yr old German Shepard mix & I can't begin to explain the difference we've seen in him! He has been on anxiety meds for 2 yrs and we've seen no help. Started running him 2x/wk with RunBuddy and he's so much happier. He waits at the window everyday to see when his friends are coming. I have been following RunBuddy on Tik Tok for over a year now. I first heard about them when I adopted my 7 year old Lab/Retriever Winston from AAWL who ran their shelter pets. Recently I rescued an 8 month old Catahoula named Mochi, and quickly realized that I needed support in burning out his energy. Additionally, Winston was lookin' kinda thick around his love handles, and with his energy level, I also needed a way to maintain a health weight for him. I pulled the trigger and made an appointment for both of my pets. Unfortunately, when I adopted Winston, the shelter failed to inform me about his behavior issues, or his history with random aggression and biting. He has behavior/reactivity issues that stem from his neglect/abuse. However, over the time that I've had Winston, I've never had him hurt anyone. So the night before my appointment coincidentally, Winston had bit my neighbor, throwing me into a frenzy, and making me extremely anxious about running Winston, as he had never bit anyone under my care. The morning of my appointment, I reached out to RunBuddy to notify them about the bite, and how concerned I was, and that I would be okay if they didn't want to run Winston. David reached out to me, and told me not to worry. They still wanted to help me, and run Winston. He pushed my appointment to the end of the day so he could make his own assessment about Winston's behavior. Our first run, David calmed my nerves, and said that they run all dogs, regardless of their past, history, or behavior issues because they already get a bad wrap as it is. As a pet owner, I deeply appreciated this, as the world will never know how reactive pets act at home vs. in the presence of others. David told me this would help with his behavior, and that Winston was cleared to continue running! Seven weeks later, running them once a week, I am extremely proud to state that Winston is looking amazing, losing his love handles, and is now at a healthy weight! Mochi is still growing, he's a puppy, and that energy gets burnt out in one session! We found that his behavior has already started to develop, and that even the day or two after we run him, he's still collected because he really needs to burn out that energy! My husband and I now look forward to our weekly sessions, and cannot imagine life without RunBuddy! Our pets are so relaxed, and stimulated. They get their workout, and my husband and I get to relax too! Winston's health has improved which was our biggest mission. We absolutely appreciate the entire team at RunBuddy; their love and compassion for all dogs really shines through in the work that they do! Mochi now sees the van, and gets SO excited to run! First time using Run Buddy today! My two boys were scared to death, but Lauren was outstanding with her calm voice, making them feel comfortable. We got both of the boys secured on Run Buddy's specially designed treadmills, and it took less than 10 minutes for both of my boys to feel safe and figure out how the treadmill worked and they had a blast! My little one (Bear) started to walk a little faster, his ears were up, so was his tail and it looked like he had a big grin! My other boy (Buddy) is extremely skittish, but once Lauren worked with him on one of the bigger treadmills, you could tell he felt safe and could work the treadmill on his own! The dog has to make the treadmill work which allows each dog to move at their own pace. My 14-year-old, slightly overweight, Shih Tzu needed to get some exercise during the heat of the AZ summer when it was too hot to walk him outside. Run Buddy to the rescue!
