Thai Tea

This is an amazing small family restaurant. The menu is primarily Cambodian and Thai. Everything we had was delicious and incredibly fragrant and eye fetching. This is not a fancy place, but a quiet place with a competent chef. The staff is young but helpful and friendly. The young lady that served us noted she had eaten here for seven years before working here. My wife and I shared a bowl of soup and the Caramelized Pork and the appetizer of Egg Rolls. Chef Bee greeted us and others to see how we enjoyed our meals. Go! Go! Go!

Excellent service and great food! Our server, Bee, showed me and my family the warmest hospitality from the time we came in till when we left. Aside from the hospitality and food we really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the restaurant. We got the pork gyoza and tempura shrimp as appetizers. The gyoza is absolutely delicious and I'd highly recommend it. For our main dishes, my wife really enjoyed the drunken noodles and I loved the Pad Thai. The garnishing on the dishes added a nice touch too. I'd highly recommend giving this place a try if you're into delicious Thai/Laotian cuisine and want to relax and enjoy your food. Bee and his family will make sure to that!

Forecast said "rain soon" and I happened to be near Rumdoul, how convenient! Panang Curry came to mind. Owner Vi and his wife greeted me with big smiles. A family was dining & chatting, 2 other solo customers concentrated on their plates. The whole place is clean & neat, with old school cha-cha-cha crooner songs by cover artists setting your mood to "mellow". Vi connects with all of his dining guests, he enjoys feedback when he feeds you! Everybody is a repeat customer, Vi can recall what you had on your last visit! Rain clouds headfaked the Weather Man, but I scored an excellent lunch! Rumdoul is tucked into a tiny, but very busy small mall at Dalrock Road & Hwy 66 in Rowlett, TX Evenings are much less hectic here. Daytime, it is like a beehive.

We found this place by happenstance and WOW are we glad we did!! The service was great, the waiter attentive and kind- we even met the owner/chef who came out to greet us, then later to make sure everything was satisfactory. The atmosphere was calm and the decorations lovely making it a nice place to enjoy a meal together. Last, but certainly not least, the food was I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E. We got crab Rangoons for an appetizer- they were fresh, hot and crunchy with a creamy inside just like I love! My husband got the carmelized pork meal and I got the chicken fried rice. Both meals were beautifully displayed and DELICIOUS to the taste!!! No doggy-bags needed here! I 1000% recommend this place and we think it's worth the drive!

I loved the flavors of the dishes. The owner is very quick and super friendly. I adored the decor of the restaurant. Will definitely come back to try other dishes.

Egg rolls!

Wonderful meal.. Took my very picky, elderly mother to dinner and she loved it, again. We shared yellow chicken curry and caramelized pork, both medium spice level. Yum, both were excellent. Fresh ingredients and served hot. Service was kind and attentive. The new owner is "B", is a direct relation to prior owner "V". Recipes unchanged. Quiet and clean dining area, as always. Highly recommend this family owned and authentic restaurant. Really good stuff here.

We're new in town and so glad we found Rumdoul through Yelp--it's truly a hidden gem! The owner, who also serves the tables, was incredibly kind and attentive throughout our visit. You can immediately tell that genuine pride and care have been put into both the food and the service. We had the Seafood Salad, Tom Yum soup, and Chicken Skewers--all fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The Tom Yum soup was large enough to share and packed with seafood and mushrooms, while the skewers were juicy and perfectly grilled. If you're looking for authentic Thai food with warm, personal service, Rumdoul is a must-try. We'll definitely be back!

Veggie Spring Rolls, Yellow Curry w/ Chicken and Panang Curry w/ Chicken

Was in the area and looking for somewhere for lunch and this place did not disappoint! Small Tai spot that's big on service and presentation. The owner was so nice and friendly. This is some of the best Tai food I've had in the Dallas area. Delish!

Chicken Pad Thai

Not only was the presentation amazing, but the flavor in this dish was extraordinary. Hidden gem of a restaurant, will definitely be coming back.

This Thai food is some of the best I've ever had! A true gem of a place, and gem of an owner. The restaurant was clean, service was amazing and food was top tier. This will be my new go-to and I highly recommend stopping by for some great food and hospitality. Thank you so much!

You will not be sorry. From the time we sat down to the time we left this was the most amazing experience. The owners love for family and passion for his culture is second to none. His wifes cooking was the best Thai food we have ever had !!! Wow!! The chicken satay and twist on beef jerky had wonderful vibrant Thai flavors. The tom yum soup came piping hot and added amazing flavors with a light kick which was very tasteful. The curries really make you feel like you are eating in Thailand and the recommendation of the drunken noodles was top notch. If you want to try something new or want the best Thai in Texas. This is the place to go. We will definitely be back here ...

Amazing food. Atmosphere could use some work, but since we always get takeout, not a biggie for us. Highly recommended.

Hi Debbie! Thank you for your inquiry.… Read more

Are they open for takeout during this Quarantine?

Yes, I just got some yesterday. They'll walk it out to your car.

Do they have high chairs for babies?

I didn't see one, but knowing the owners, all you'd need to is mention it and they would rectify it. It's a very family friendly place.

Do they have delivery?

Yes. Free with $25 or more purchase. $2.50 charge for less than $25.

Just moved to the area and was looking a place with good Thai food. Seeing the amount of stars…read morethis place got and how some people raved about the pad Thai here, made me want to try it. Ordered the fried squid and the regular portion of chicken Pad Thai level 2 spice, which came with an egg roll. If you're going to come here for lunch, and don't like eating left over, I recommend getting the lunch portion of chicken pad Thai. The lunch portion comes with a small cute salad, egg roll, and a good portion of chicken pad Thai with the bean sprouts on the side. The fried squid we got was very soggy which was a little disappointing. Then it got more disappointing when whad more fried onions and carrots compared to the amount of fried squid on the serving plate. The chicken pad Thai was ok in my opinion. Not sure what everyone's raving about because my noodles were all over cooked so it was a little difficult to enjoy. I may need to come back here one more time to see if anything changed and to bump up my rating or to see if the food usually like this.

Stopped by The Blue Rat in downtown Garland after the initial place we were trying to eat dinner at…read morehad a 2.5+ hour wait on a Friday night. This was recommended by some locals in the park when we were trying to figure out what our next move would be, and we thought -- why not? My husband and I got the soft spring rolls with shrimp and the corn fritters to start, and then we split two entrees: the khao man gai (Thailand's version of Hainanese chicken rice) and the khao soi (yellow curry noodles) with tofu. The fritters were pretty dry/mostly batter, mostly just a vehicle for the sauce they came with. The spring rolls were very loosely packed, so every bite we lost some of the filling to the plate and had to sop it up with our hands. The peanut sauce that came with it was also pretty tasty, though! The khao soi was quite delicious and definitely packed a lot of flavor and heat (we requested level 2 spicy), but it was honestly pretty small portion-wise for an entree, and there weren't a lot of noodles. The tofu was excellent, however. And the chicken breast on top of the khao man gai was super dry and disappointing (I would've vasty preferred dark meat chicken with skin still attached), but the bed of aromatic and flavorful rice is probably one of the best I've ever had. They have the khao man gai rice available as a side and I'd recommend that to anyone who comes here, because it was incredible. The flavorful khao man gai sauce was the only reason we were able to finish the super dry protein on top of the dish. The friend we were with got the pork pad see ew and found the protein there to be pretty tough and dry as well, though the noodles were good. This place is pretty far away from us so we would not go out of our way to return, but if you find yourself in the area and craving Thai, definitely give the khao man gai rice a try.
