A fun unique little restaurant with Caribbean and island inspired cuisine. Their menu options are a bit pricey for portion size and their drinks are priced very high as well. The prices seem to rise each year with no increase in satisfaction or quality of food. I remember at one point in time, food was being served on eco-friendly recyclable dishes. I'm all for the environment, but if you want to charge money like your in the hamptons, atleast serve like you are in the hamptons. The most satisfying time I would say to visit Rumba is during happy hour when beer & wine as well as some cocktails and apps are half priced. The restaurant is fun, new and refreshing, but nothing extraordinary. read more

LOVE Rumba! As always, the duck empanadas were perfect...crispy with just a touch of heat. Shared a bite of my friend's seared ahi...YUM!. Dominican ribs as the entree with a substitution of smashed potatoes were delicious. Paired with a couple of key lime martinis....HEAVEN! My favorite casual restaurant on the East End! read more

As always a great time at Rumba! The food and drinks were delicious! My only two small complaints were that one, we felt a little rushed to order as soon as we sat down. I realize we were there on Mother's Day and I'm sure they were fully booked but at the time of our arrival the place was pretty empty still. The other, which is probably out of their control is the amount of very large bees outside on the deck. I'm not sure if there is anything they can do to at least deter them from swarming where you sit and eat but if so, they should look into it. I should mention these are the larger ones that don't sting but still, large insects hovering over you while eating are a bit annoying. read more

Best kept secret in Hampton Bays....All though it's probably not much of a secret because Rumba always has a great crowd. Outstanding food, amazing staff.... read more

One of my fav places ..super chill atmosphere rum punch will definitely have you on a tropical island

Have been going to Rumba since it opened. Great food and view. However, customer service is EXTREMELY BAD. It takes over a 1 hour to be seated sometimes, especially in the summer. Management / staff is either incompetent or extremely clueless and have no sense of loyalty to customer. Very disappointing in summer. read more

Awesome food and great service at a great price. I had 3 tacos and the duck empanadas. Loved it! Get it all the time.

Had a great time with friends here in mid-July. Had some very tasty margaritas and really enjoyed the vibe. The bartender was super friendly and remembered what each of us was drinking when we re-ordered. The wait for dining was too long for us so we opted to go to Cowfish but will be back to try the grub. Definitely a good spot to roll off the beach for happy hour. read more

No way to review the food as we never had a chance to try it. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon. We requested a table outside with some shade. A waiter said he would look into it and never returned. We witnessed other patrons just sitting down anywhere. We finally had someone notice us again and reiterated our request. We were seated at the outdoor bar facing the water. We had not been there 5 minutes before being told that the table was reserved for someone else. We asked if there was a place in the shade. He said no. We left. We are HB homeowners. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. In fact I would strongly suggest you avoid the restaurant! P.S. I emailed the restaurant and received a one sentence reply that someone in management would contact me. So far nothing. Which is a good word to describe this place. read more

I was extremely disappointed and won't be back. The service was horrible!!! Our waitress came to our table maybe once during our 2 hour meal. The food was okay but certainly not worth the prices they charge. Highly overrated for sure. read more

The food is excellent and the service is superior. The view is fantastic. They have a deck with water view and a launch to exchange customers with Cowfish restaurant nearby. The drinks are good and easy to drink but they can be expensive. The evening crowd in the summer can be deafeningly loud but they are mostly young and having a good time. Use the deck if you want more quiet dining. Parking is difficult but they have valet parking and a shuttle bus from nearby lots. read more

Great food, great staff, great ambiance. We had a wonderful day today. Everything from the duck empanadas and Dominican ribs to the fish tacos and tres leeches cake, was amazing. And the view can't be beat. Thank you! read more

Celebrated my birthday with my sisters at Rumba earlier this week. The service and food was outstanding. We will definitely be back.

Smiling, friendly and efficient hostesses, bartenders, and wait staff, the best rum punch north of Barbados, great food (seafood, beef, chicken, ribs, tacos, etc. etc.) and a beautiful view of the bay always make for a delightful dining experience. Rumba never disappoints and is a highlight of our Hamptons weekends. read more

Excellent food ,drinks service and band. Honored reservation

The foods good not great and the service just ok but great drinks and view! You can get a pitcher of sangria and hang by the water its a cool hamptonish caribean vibe read more

This was delicious! Food was outstanding- we had the Dominican ribs as an appetizer and it was amazing, smokey & sweet flavor. The sugar cane soy salmon with coconut risotto is one of the best meals I've ever had. A nice rich unexpected combination. Service was great, even though we were there labor day weekend after 9pm where you have obnoxious drunks everywhere in the Hamptons. Our waitress kept apologizing and checking in on us, but the food was worth the loud environment. I will probably go earlier next time and enjoy the view since it is on the water. read more

Great food, people, drinks, atmosphere. I don't think its possible to have a bad time here. Great during all seasons as well

Love Taco Thursdays! Cocktails are always great. Fun atmosphere. The wings and ribs are very good!!

Went to lunch on a recommendation from friends & will definitely be back.service friendly & helpful. Food was excellent! Everything was very fresh & delicious. We have been to Rumbas several times and have never been disappointed. Other than serving delcious fish, scrumptious pulled pork and marinated flank steak in a tortilla and calling it a taco, this is not a Mexican resturant like Annie H suggests. If the $5 each breaks her wallet, maybe she should stay out of the Hamptons as this is a reasonably priced place for tasty fresh food, great drinks and a fun/beachy atmosphere. The ribs are absolutely incredible and Fish Tacos are my favorite and I am not a big fan of fish. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend. read more

I love rumba, delicious, adventurous food and a really nice crew. Try the Rastaman tacos, there's nothing like them anywhere else, and the best rum punch you can get!!! My wife and I go there every year for our anniversary. read more

Rumba Where do I start busy Hamptons bar or restaurant. We meet friends and we're able to seat at bar and enjoy some summertime Caribbean drinks we ask for table and waited for an hour no reservations here just first come and go style. While drinks were good and refreshing waiting for staff was other issue . Busy for Thursday night . The place was overcrowded and had lots of people coming and going . Finally sat and ordered round of drinks. Servers look like underdressed beach girls at strip joint . But for my friend and I it was enjoying but classless for our ladies. We ordered appetizer, salads and dinner . Appetizer was delivered a little dry for my taste ,but salad was fresh and refreshing and dinner came it was absolutely delicious spot on perfectly cook meal finally positive thoughts. Another mango rum punch to wash this one down . Ladies said no to dessert preferred more drinks instead. My thoughts at the end of this one was the chef can cook but busy clicky night spot does it inn and better wait staff will suit the chef and may be larger separate dinning - bar areas would of help ."mixed thoughts????" read more

I just had the noodle salad. It was great, I loved it. My friend ordered the dominican ribs. Soooo good!

Loved the food! The service was great too. Good drinks, good food, great view.......what more can you ask for? I would say definitely make a reservation. Even on a Monday night, the wait was over an hour. Of course that speaks volumes about the place, but a reservation would cut your wait time down. Why wait for a great dinner if you don't have to? read more

This is a cool place that's right by the water. My party was seated outdoors, inside of a large broken down bus of all things! It's a nice looking bus that they used to use for tours of some sort, I forget exactly, but once it was no longer useable they put it outside to utilize as an additional seating area (it has a dining table and chairs inside). A pretty smart and spectacular move from the owner, in my opinion. More ways for restaurant to seat people and make more money, since the place was completely packed inside when we went, and it was an interesting and enjoyable experience for all of us there. We had a nice view of the water from inside the bus. The staff was extremely friendly, and even though we were seated separately from everyone else, someone always came periodically to check if we needed anything. The lack of stars is due only to the quality of the food. There was barely any fish at all in my fish tacos, and the tortilla had a very strange/ off-putting taste to it. My garlic mashed potatoes were extremely dry, lacking salt, and overall pretty difficult to eat. The rest of my party, while we had a fun time, didn't seem to enjoy any of their dishes very much either. read more

Monday late afternoon in June I called for a reservation and 8:00 was the only time available for 4 people, OK. As we drive up, the parking lot guy says "lot is full you need to park at the marina and Rumba bus will get you." After asking where this marina is, we head back down the road to the marina on the right and as soon as we park, a guy overlooking a 2nd floor balcony yells down "you can't park there" and points towards the back of the marina. Then we follow some other people to wait about 5 minutes for the cute throw-back-to-the-60's hippie bus with a very friendly bus driver. Restaurant isn't that big hence, I see why you need a reservation. We start with drinks, even though the pina colada said "on the rocks" I guess I was still expecting the typical "frozen" drink which it wasn't. We opted for more appetizers and less entrees since the apps sounded different. Duck empanadas and wings were great. Double dip was eh. Barbados jerk chicken salad was good but just like a ceasar salad. The tacos were cute and delicious. Dominican ribs which were soft and fall-off-the-bone but it looked like a 1/2 rack and it was $28 - rather high. Waitress was very friendly. Decor is rustic and there are some tables outside overlooking the water. We were stuffed ! Then someone brings us a large ice cream sundae and we politely say we didn't order that. The waitress says "it's from the chef because you waited for the ribs a long time." We didn't mind waiting for the ribs to digest, lol, but that was truly a great gesture on the chef's part. It's a great restaurant, the food is special , friendly and attentive staff, just wish the parking lot was bigger, but hey you can't have everything. read more

Today was our second visit! The first was in Aug. In Aug the wait was around 20 minutes. The service and the food were excellent. We had duck empanadas, ahi tuna for starters and a pitcher of island sangria, we then had a variety of the tacos , we ended with key lime pie and French press coffee. Everything was delicious! Today we were sat almost immediately and had a pitcher of the rum punch (prefer the sangria), crab cake , Dominican ribs (extremely tender and tasty-the practically melt in your mouth-best ribs I ever had) and the duck empanadas again (thought about them a lot since our last visit). We then rode the Rumba Barge to Cowfish for Jalapeno, Ginger Margaritas and back to Rumbas for the Scallops, Coconut Risotto and white beans followed by again key lime pie and French press coffee! Everything so far is great with one exception the ladies room has only one stall:-( Something has to be done about that, too many patrons for that! However foods great so I'd visit again. read more

icrumbaaa! awesome rum punch, service, atmosphere, and dishes. to start we had the Dominican ribs- literally fall off the bone, melt in your mouth. i had the creole mahi with fried shrimp on top. the proportions were perfect especially after finishing off 2 pitchers of the rum punch and apps. our server gave us a free round of their homemade coconut infused rum and then another round of their banana vanilla rum. the prices are very reasonable. i will definitely be back again. it was a great time, i couldn't have asked for a better dinner out. read more
