This was my third experience dining with RUMBA and -- like the first two -- it was excellent. This time, my girlfriends and I, staying in HB for the weekend, were shut out of dining at RUMBA due to limited seating during the pandemic. We decided to order out. After pestering the hostess with our dietary questions, we placed an extensive order to go for four people that was over $200. Unfortunately, after we placed the order we received an urgent call from our friend's husband that forced us to return to the city immediately. When we didn't pick up our order, the restaurant called us and we explained what happened. Unprompted, the restaurant gave us a full refund. We were shocked! I would absolutely return to this restaurant again - they were extremely considerate and we are super grateful!! read more

The Duck Empanadas were amazing a bit pricey tho for an appetizer that small that is expected to be shared...everyone goes crazy over the rum punch but i have definitely had better it was strong tho so if you're looking to get drunk look no further i hated my jerk chicken entree the chicken was decent but everything else with it tasted weird with it my gf loved her entree the mahi with the shrimp tho but the place was really noisy and cluttered people standing over my back and next to me while i eat i would probably go with the guys sometimes but never for a romantic evening or for a date read more

My family and I came here for a birthday. I love the vibe. The website says "island inspired" and it surely lives up to that. We sat outside, within sight of the water and the locals enjoying their fancy boats and jet skis. The staff was friendly expect for one bartender who seemingly threw my money at me when giving change for a to-go order I made. It could have been an accident because he was in a rush to get his drink orders out, but that still isn't much of an excuse. I ordered the jerk chicken and coconut risotto. It was delicious! The risotto was creamy and it left a great first impression seeing as I'd never had risotto before then. The jerk chicken was full of flavor, but after a while, it became too spicy for me to finish. My favorite dish was the fish tacos. They were simply amazing. I had them as an appetizer and then I ordered two more to take home with me. They didn't make it very far, however, because I couldn't resist devouring them once I got in the car. We also took the boat from the dock of Rumba to their sister restaurant, Cowfish. We didn't eat there, but instead enjoyed the view and breezes from the water. Very relaxing and beautiful. Lovely experience. read more

I came for lunch for the first time on a Sunday. Started off great from the valet parking. To fast seating right to drinks. The rum punch was fantastic and sneaked up on me halfway. The ribs were juicy, flavorful and falling off the bone. Followed by having two tacos, the pulled rib and skirt steak. Both were very tasty and different left me wanting more. The waitress, Stephanie, was very friendly and attentive. My only complaint was the meat was not hot enough for me. I like to see my food steaming. Been a regular here since they opened! Still some day one employees we love to see because they know me and my husband by name. Ask for Jess or Erin they're great waitresses! You have to try the Dominican ribs (fall right off the bone) and they have a spicy sweet margarita with blackberries... soooo good. Only complaint is they close on Tuesday's in the winter and that's my night off with my family! But we still make time to go read more

Went to this place on a Saturday night. Needless to say, It was busy!!! It is located right by the water. The food was excellent!! And generous portions for the amount that they charge. The Rum punch was sweet (a little too sweet for me) but the original mojito was just perfect!! Service was excellent too. Our party was bigger than what we had reservations for and they tried to accommodate us as soon as they could (within a half hour). Truly enjoyed this place and would definitely return! read more

So I came here during the summer with my girlfriend and her boyfriend and two others to have a nice lunch near the water. Well, what was supposed to end up just being a relaxing day ended up being a crazy evening! We were told a wait about 15-20 minutes for a table, ended up to be about 35 minutes. However we were able to get a seat at the bar, which was great. The bartender was attentive and helpful. The drinks (mojitos) were great as so were the prices. I can't quite remember what we had to eat exactly but I know I had some sort of tacos which were delicious! I can't wait to come back out here again this summer! read more

I've lived in hampton bays my whole life and rumba is one of the most consistently great restaurants that's ever been around. The drinks are always delicious and the food is unique and incredibly fresh. My partner is vegan and she's ALWAYS able to order the fresh vegetable platter (request it vegan and they will accommodate) and the servers,waitresses, and the manager always follow up to make sure it's correct. They even know that honey is a debated vegan item and always ask before using it on her food. Not only are the food and drink great but the atmosphere can't be beat right on the water with big windows to see it if you're seated inside! Definitely make your way here if you're in the area! read more

I've been visiting Rumba since its opening and have always been pleased with the food and service. There is nothing necessarily "local" about the menu dishes, but that is made up for within the quality of the food. As with many other restaurants and eateries in the area, the prices continue to rise undoubtedly each summer season, yet the quality of entrees and service remain unchanged. My favorite time to visit Rumba is during the affordable Happy Hour they host each weekday from 3-5 PM which include half off - well liquor, beer, wine, along with $5 - margaritas, sangria and their famous rum punch. Many appetizers are also included in the half off discount, but be weary because this is only applicable at the bar and surf table. The apps I enjoy most are the seared ahi tuna or delectable duck empanada paired with a margarita, corona, or chardonnay. As a younger and local guest It'd be great if they added a discount or special for nearby neighbors. If their prices were just a little lower, they would be busier than they already are. Overall, a good choice for dining, they know what it takes to operate a restaurant in "The Hamptons." read more

Food was delicious but the rum punch wasn't anything like a true Jamaican rum punch. If you own a Caribbean restaurant, you should make your drinks as authentic as possible. Drinks are their weak point. I had a mojito and it was disappointing also. I guess they're counting on people not to know their Caribbean drinks. I come from a multicultural jamaican background and travel to Jamaica Regularly. I know my cultures drinks. Came here on Father's Day for my birthday, besides from having to park in the auxiliary parking lot since valet was full I had to wait 10 minutes until the bus picked me up. I wasn't gonna let a little walking and waiting on a beautiful day on my birthday ruin my whole experience. Once the bus brought me to the restaurant I met my wife and dog outside on the deck with a nice view of the bay. Because this is a rum bar they have my favorite diplomatic rum!! we started off with the double dip and a side Caesar salad. Double dip consisted of fried chips with guacamole dip and a pimento cream cheese kind of dip which was a little on the spicy side very good and flavorful. Caesar salad was nice and fresh pretty normal and simple but made very well. For my entrée I got fish tacos and steak tacos always on point here very delicious would definitely recommend mahi-mahi is the best. Our waitress was friendly and attentive they were a little on the busy side since it was a holiday but all in all had a great experience. read more

The staff was very nice and courteous. I had a great time with my girlfriend there. We had the Dominican Ribs which were really good and also had various Tacos. Those were delicious. Also had the drink with the Jalapeno in it. I forgot the name but very tasty drink with a kick. We will certainly come back here again. Parking is limited here, so I suggest parking at their sister restaurant Cowfish and take the ferry they have there to Rumba. Its a very nice and romantic ride back and forth. read more

So we came from a long way to go visit this place. Hearing nothing but amazing things about it as it was a new restaurant opening up in the Hamptons. We got exactly what we expected with amazing food and excellent service. They have a filiated restaurants up the road that are also top-notch which I've been to in prior years. The drinks at the bar to the environment outside made a guarantee that this a five star review for us. We recently ate at Rumba and felt like we were VIPs the entire evening. There was a mistake with our reservation, however the manager Craig resolved it and made sure that all of my friends had a fun night! Our party of 7 sat outside on the deck and overlooked the beautiful bay. This was the perfect ending to my sister's bachelorette party! It's pretty good, but it benefits from not having a whole lot of competition in its price range (except for Cowfish, which is owned by the same people). It's either cheap dives or really overpriced garbage, and then these places sit right in between it all. Gets packed out with the worst people you could imagine during the summer but I guess that's the Hamptons for you. Food is good, drinks are strong, prices are more or less what you'd expect. I really liked this place!! Atmosphere was great, drinks were refreshing and the view was beautiful. It is one of those places you end up missing out on plans you had to go somewhere else. I only drank here but will be coming back for food as it looked good. There seemed to be an army of staff, almost overwhelming at times as they seemed to be bumping into each other and running around but at that point I was on my 3rd rum punch. Justin behind the bar was great to us and advised us on a couple of hot spots in the area so kudos to him. The only thing I would love to see is live music here although the space may not allow for it. Def a great spot worth checking out! read more

I came to Rumba. Always had good quality food in the past. But today , it was disgusting. Had the coconut risotto. Over cooked horribly and no flavor of coconut anywhere. Ordered the Jerk Chicken Tacos. No flavor at all. Popeyes chicken has more flavor. To make it worse , service was terrible. I won't be returning here to eat. Not quality in the kitchen. Horrible service. Waited 30 minutes for our table even though we had a reservation (so did everyone else-they were clearly over booked). They served us the food as fast as possible, they were trying to to turn over the tables quickly as they had many parties just standing and waiting. Our food was cold. They served us the wrong order. I came here with my boyfriend and two of his friends at their suggestion on a Sunday night. Right off the bat, parking was insane but they were able to fit us somehow. We didn't have a reservation and were given a 1hr 15min wait. Never in my life. Our friends seemed to really want to eat here, so we sat at the loud, crowded bar to wait for our table. Bartenders were probably the best of all the staff we encountered. Attentive and hustling, made great drinks and quickly brought us a few apps while we waited. We finally got to our table after about 45 minutes and had two, maybe three different servers come by over the course of our meal and all were confused about if/what we had already ordered. We waited at least another 30 mins for the food which in my opinion was just okay, everyone else seemed to enjoy it though. It was impossible to get a hold of any wait staff to bring another round of drinks so we ate our meals without them. Prices were fair, I guess. Other things to note: the music is blaring, kids running around the already hectic floor with no parents in sight, and the bathroom barely had any soap, which seems like a pretty significant oversight given the current circumstances. Wholly crap I love this place. We were there for Wednesday lunch. Alexis was our very attentive and patient server. The rib appetizer was bursting with flavor. The rum punch packed a nice little punch. The shrimp sandwich and crab cake salad were filling and flavorful. Even the fries were perfectly cooked and did not require catsup for flavor. The key lime pie and the house banana vanilla rum should be packaged to go. Will be back next time we are in the neighborhood. Oh - loved the deck view too. Some guac and chips, the grilled artichoke (to die for) and the crabitizer...followed by another coconut mojito (thank You bartender!!) the Rastafarian taco (for all of the vegetarians out there) and fish taco for the pescatarians...
