Great food! Crab cake salad and Ahi tuna salad are delicious. The place is right by the water and nice atmosphere. It's a good place for summer. Thump up! read more

Wonderful dinner. This was our first time visiting. They were participating in restaurant week, and offered some nice options. Food was all delicious, cooked to perfection and plated beautifully. While we really enjoyed our meals, the key lime pie was really outstanding. So when you already have great food, the one thing that will set a restaurant apart from another is the staff, and this staff hit it out of the ballpark. They are like a well-oiled machine, and genuinely friendly, and that's including the valet staff! We will definitely return. read more

Best lunch ever! Waterfront location, great menu! Sit in or outside. The food was a creative Carribean combination of delicious ingredients! Highly recommend and can't wait to go back. read more

Wasn't expecting this to be anything special and they knocked it out of the park. Everything was seasoned well, the Grenada Chicken paired perfectly with the confit tomatoes. The duck empanadas and wings for apps are a must! read more

Great, young bar scene. Food was very mediocre. I had the tuna burger for dinner, and it was disappointing. The duck and fried oyster apps were also pretty weak. read more

Great menu! Everything has been well thought out to present an exciting assortment of Caribbean inspired dishes. I had such a hard time figuring out what to order, everything seemed so good! We visited mid august and sat outside and walked out to the dock after eating. A great place to come with friends and family. Great service. I was pleased with my meal, I just wish that the portions were greater. read more

Took my wife & 2 kids (14 & 12) to this place for dinner yesterday around 4:30 after a long day at the beach. We liked the rustic ambiance with soft reggae music in the background. The place is small but cozy. Seating was immediately available inside but we wanted to sit outdoors so the wait was 15-20 min. Well 40 minutes later we were seated. During that time though the hostess served us tortilla chips & water without us asking. That was thoughtful & made the wait bearable. After we were seated we ordered crab cakes, Dominican ribs, skirt steak & a cheese burger...all of it was amazingly delicious! Would definitely return with my family. read more

WOW! Food is amazing, drinks are strong and of course the service is superb! Came here for my friends birthday and they gave us the bus to eat in! We had Liz as our waitress and she is great! She had a smile on her face the whole time and is a perfect example of how every server should be. 5 stars all around! Thank you so much for making my friend so happy, will definitely return back here soon! read more

The Rumba experience is great. The manager Craig is wonderful. We have dined there as well as catered at our home. Never disappointed. It's a truly fabulous experience. So many delicious choices - the green sauced muscles are a MUST and the marinated steak is ridiculously delicious ( to the point when I make steak at home I foolishly try to recreate that marinade.... why do that when I can just go there). Rumba is a MUST. read more

Amazing food!!! Rum punch, ribs, wings and blackened mahi-mahi...oh my!!!! Everything was so tasty and the service was top notch! Highly recommended! read more

For starters, if you go here and don't get the Sangria - you made a huge mistake. They make Sangria the best way possible...with rum in it. It is quite small, so the wait time can get quite long. The food is good island food and is not too overly priced. They absolutely crush the pulled pork tacos! Since the wait can get long - I suggest putting your name in with the hostess, picking up a pitcher and going down to the dock to relax with some friends while you wait. read more

Hubby and I came here during our weekend in the Hamptons due to the great reviews on Yelp. Sadly, I feel like Yelp led us wrong this time. The restaurant is noted as "Island inspired" restaurant.... last I checked Mexico was NOT an island. Most of the items we ordered was missing the Caribbean flair we were hoping to taste. There is valet parking here; i guess 'cause the parking lot is laid out awkwardly? We came on Monday night around 6pm and although it was busy, we were able to get a seat fairly quickly. The service left something to be desired though. It took them literally 20 minutes to get us a high chair, another 20 minutes for our server to come and when I asked for a smaller fork or a disposable fork, the server said "i'll see what I can do" and never returned. Disappointing. We ordered the following: Duck Empanadas Grilled Oysters Fish Tacos Jammin' Chicken for the toddler The empanadas and oysters were waaaay salty. I'm not sure if this was intentional so that you'd buy more drinks/beer? But the food here was salty to the point where we had to gulp water each time we had a bite. Yes, the fish taco was great, but then again, how could you go wrong with fresh fish in the area? At $5/each, it's definitely not easy on the wallet. The chicken fingers were bland, but that would've been okay for a toddler. The bill came out to around $60+. Quite pricey for the amount and quality of food we ordered. read more

We are building a house in Hampton Bays. Each time we go to see the progress the real reason is to also eat at Rumba. Absolutely high end food and service with a beautiful spot on the water. One of my favorites. make a reservation though, especially in season. read more

Holy moly worth the hype!! I'm a vegetarian - it's the best meal I've had in a long time. My husband is not - he raved about the ribs and scallops. Don't miss the coconut risotto. You will not be sorry! read more

Key Lime Martinis!! So yummy! The seared tuna appetizer is a huge winner here. I don't like ribs (because I'm crazy, but I know that everyone else does) - and apparently these are to die for. Every appetizer was awesome, but do yourself a favor, feel healthy and order the grilled artichoke. That way you can order your rum punch and feel like you did something right. As for the low reviews, I suggest you read them. One of them is clearly a snob that I am happy won't be at the table next to me. The others I can honestly say I've had multiple experiences now that are much better. And I highly recommend the food. But the takeaway here: Key Lime Martini! So good. read more

Place was amazing. Hesitant to try the rum punch but as good as advertised. Will be back.

Awesome spot! Tacos are outstanding , mussels too. Rum punch is a MUST! Small restaurant but packs in the crowds so plan ahead on any summer evenings bc there will be a wait , but totally worth it . You can go sit by the water and have a cocktail while you wait. read more

This place is absolutely great. Even open on Mondays in the dead of winter. We have dined here twice in the offseason and the food was amazing both times. The second time we went we ordered two of every taco. There were 5 of us, while we did order appetizers we ended up with left overs. Still great tacos for lunch the next day. The staff here is super friendly. Exceptional really both times. Highly recommend this place. A real gem! read more

FOH Needs to be attentive I have to wait like an idiot in the host area to be seated. Ended up there's a wait and she did not even mind to ask me if I want to be in the list. I've been here a lot of times during the summer. The food is good and prices aren't too bad. read more

Luckily a bunch of restaraunts were closed on Tuesday and it forced us to check out this place. It was the end of our trip in Montauk and we are glad we ended it here. Relaxing atmosphere, casual but I wouldn't come in dressed like I just came from the beach either...First off the Duck empanada's were awesome... My wife had two Pina Colada's, I know thats a pre-game for most but for her on a weekday...its a miracle , so that goes to show how good the drinks are. Had a mojito and margarita myself, both perfect. The fish taco's, crab cake, and pulled pork taco's are some of the best I ever had. Had a skirt steak taco which was ok in comparison to the other stuff, and a side of plantains that were as authentic as a Dominican Grandma can make. Whenever I go out to Montauk I'll be wrapping up the trip here... or starting it here... or both read more

Service was great. Rum punch was tasty but over priced. Where the hell was the spice ? The duck empanadas; too much cheese not enough duck, no heat/spice. The Ribeye steak had no ,, rub or ginger flavor just sweet sauce. Jerk chicken was not spicy hot enough and needed more Jamaican spice. Previous reviewer stated it was as good as what he had in Jamaica ; I highly doubt that. Sorry to say was overrated and over priced. David, We visited day of review. I was a lil harsh. The place is beautiful and staff was great. We were just very disappointed with the food. read more

The food. The drinks. The view. I loved it here, and so did my boyfriend. The service was great (aside from one dark haired hostess who promptly rolled her eyes at me while trying to navigate the busy waiting area, guess I didn't get out of her way fast enough). We ordered drinks and an appetizer at the bar and the bartenders were fun and very nice. Our waitress was very sweet and kind, and the hostess got us a table even faster than we thought one would be available. Make reservations, because it gets crowded, and for good reason. The mojito and the sangria are both very good, but their rumba punch was incredible. The duck empanadas are to die for, and the Dominican ribs are also great. In addition we had the crab cake salad with mango and papaya which was light, flavorful and tasty (next time I'll get it without red onion, just not a fan of raw onions!). For our entree we split the salmon with coconut risotto and fried plantains. I didn't think I would like the coconut risotto but it was so creamy and unique and I ended up loving it. The perfect addition to the salmon. The plantains were also great! Our food came out fast and we had a wonderful view of the water from our window seat. Their parking lot was full but they have an overflow lot with a little shuttle/party bus that takes you to the restaurant and pack. So convenient! As for the crowd, it was a mix of relaxed locals and girls dressed up in a way that screamed "OMG the Hamptons!". Either way, it made for great people watching. My only complaint was that the music was just a bit loud. Other than that it was a great place to grab dinner. We drove an hour from where we were staying on Long Island and I would absolutely come back. If I lived nearby, I would totally be a regular here. Oh and I disagree with the comment about it being overpriced. The food and service are great (and appear to be consistent), and for crying out loud you're at a waterside restaurant in The Hamptons. This is probably the most reasonably priced restaurant you'll find this far out. It's worth it. read more

The food, drinks and the awesome view of the bay never disappoint me no matter what time of the year I go there. Drinks was on point. Ordered the "Hot and stormy" - banana liquor, jalapeños and ginger beer. This drink have a little kick to it, very unique. Ordered the jerk ribs as appetizer, probably the best ribs I ever had, only wished there was more on the plate, because it's $13 for only 4 ribs. But overall, a great place for dates or parties! read more

We came by because of the good reviews and unfortunately were a bit disappointed. We were a party of four and ordered the Dominican ribs as a starter. They were falling of the bones but only 4 pieces. So my daughter and i we didn't try one because the men would have two each. As main dishes we had: the blackened Mahi which was perfectly cook, three carnitas tacos and two smothered pulled-rib taco - don't forget to order sides. The carnitas tacos were boring: only a spoon of guacamole and a little sourcreme: no tomatoes, no lettuce, no caribbean spices - anything... The pulled rib tacos tasted porkish and like a convenient product - they were greasy and no tasteable spices but a lot of fried onions on top. The three cocktails we had were great: two virgin colada and one with alcohol. My husband had two IPA's which where served without a glas - only by can & bottle. We paid 130$ and i guess it's to much for the quality you get. The service was fast and attentive- especially the valet parking guy was perfect. The view / location is perfect but the next time i would spend my money somewhere else. read more

Love this place, apps are the best, the ribs and the wings. Don't forget to order a prickly pear margarita

Delicious! Flavorful! It was Taco Thursday 3 for $12. Two would have been plenty. The Fish Taco was my favorite, then the Smothered Pulled Rib and Rastaman's. Each one had its own unique flavor. For a Thursday the place was packed for lunch. Next time we will make a reservation for outdoor seating. Service was also great. Can't wait to come back. read more

Drinks, apps, service, location and ambiance of this restaurant is fabulous. The tacos are average. I would recommend a reservation.

Cute beach bar with excellent food. The vibe here captures the island vibes and is perfect for the beach location in the Hamptons Bays. They're known for their rum punch, but I prefer the mojitos. Everything here is really good and this place packs out during the summer time. Super friendly staff and reasonable prices. read more

Love this spot. A bit tricky to get a spot on the weekends but worth the wait for the ribs, the coconut risotto, and their piñata colada!

Service - very prompt and polite. Noticed staff members hustling and bustling in the midst of the craziness. Definitely impressed by their strong work ethic! We interacted with the host in person and over the phone and she was very pleasant, polite, and timely. The bartenders were responsive and worked well together. The wait staff was attentive, timely, and kind. Food - had the homemade guac and chips - they were solid, 7/10; had the duck empanadas - they were tasty and unique, 8/10; had the special taco of the day - (buffalo soldier tacos?) - delicious - 9/10 for preparation, flavor, and uniqueness!; had the crab cake - 10/10, just do it!; had the seared scallop salad - honestly, would have enjoyed the 4 large seared scallops on a dish with a nearby glaze and called it a day - the salad was lacking avocado and papaya 9/10 for the seared scallops, 3/10 for the accompanying salad...key lime pie was delicious, 10/10. Had the Rum Punch - 10/10 and top shelf margarita 10/10. Parking was available alongside the restaurant (valet), as well as a bit down the road they use some space at the Marina. Its about 500 feet passed the restaurant Cowfish and there is a small sign that denotes the parking - the Rumbus comes every 5 minutes and was a cool experience. Walked back to the car around 945pm and it was pleasantly dark and a nice way to walk off the meals. Only complaint was that for a restaurant that can host as many folks as it can - they only have 1 stall for the ladies and there is a line. This line averaged about 6 minutes (the wifey counted) and can be counter productive for the establishment as this is time that a patron isn't at the table and slows turning down tables for the waitstaff. Would like to have seen an additional stall! read more

The ambiance was good, location was nice especially on a clear day as the sun sets, however the servers are overwhelmed and food is served cold or at best luke warm (albeit with good flavor). One of my favorite summertime restaurants!! Very small place, limited parking but they do offer a shuttle bus. LOCATION: What a great place. You sit right on the Shinnecock bay. Most of the seating is facing the back which is right behind the establishment, so make sure you get a spot outside on the deck so you can really see the nice bay view. DECOR: Very beachy themed, but not cheap looking. Wooden tables and wicker chairs outside, small candles sitting in sand jars on the tables... it all really makes you feel like your in the heart of summer. FOOD: Try the Wings and Duck Empanadas for appetizers. Some of my favorite meals include: any of the Tacos, Ribs with sweet potatoes, and the Pork tenderloin with coconut risotto/fried bananas. It was around 20 something dollars for the Ribs and Pork entree's. A little pricey, but very worth it! For once I didn't feel guilty after eating out, it tasted like something homemade, good quality and not frozen foods just heated up quickly like an applebees would give you. Very delicious dinner. The rum punch, small for $10, came in a mason jar to continue the beachy feel, and was pretty good. Strong drinks so its worth the money. SERVICE: Waitress was very nice, food came out quickly even though the place was pretty busy when we got there. Try to make a reservation at least 24 hours in advance if you're going for dinner Fri-Sun. If you don't, expect at least an hour wait. Waiting isn't bad though, you can order drinks at bar and sit outside by the bay while you wait for them to buzz you. read more

A friend's of our friend took us here. Great place to hang out and eat and enjoy sunset at the same time. I like their tacos.. so yummy! we also ordered some other dishes from the menu they all came out pretty good. But not the drinks :( some of us ordered mojito (in many different flavors) they all turned up to be too blend and sweet. So we asked the waiter to put more alcohol, they decided to remake all of them. Great! when the second drinks came, sigh! the same thing, just not as sweet but definitely need more alcohol. I'm not being sarcastic or exaggerating, I asked some people to try all the mojito we ordered at our table, they all agreed that it was blend and too sweet. Anyway, we had a great time! got to see sunset and watched the moon rising... ahhhh pretty!!! great food and great company. I will stop by again if I'm in the area. read more
