My family was going on vacation and we needed a kennel to board our three 150 pound trained guard dogs that are all intact (not spayed or neutered) for one week. After MANY phone calls, everyone wimped out. No one wanted to get near our dogs at any price. This really pissed me off because our dogs are all professionally trained, totally socialized, and friendly (unless you jump over our fence in the middle of the night). And they're way nicer than many untrained mutts that I've met. Unfortunately, the kennel owned by our original dog trainers (in Hudson, WI) no longer boards intact dogs. It wasn't looking good for taking our vacation! Buffalo Dogs was the ONLY kennel we could find that would board our dogs. Anna, the owner, was not intimidated at all. She did a great job. She's a total pro. She walked around our big 160 "Scooby" like it was no big deal. FYI, Scooby loved her! It was pretty hot and Anna even added extra cooling to make sure our big guys (and girl) didn't overheat. FYI, Buffalo Dogs is on a farm, on a dirt road, with a big old hay barn and other buildings. Our dogs were kept in the basement where we were not allowed to go. Neither one of them ate while we were gone and we were not notified of this and they both had developed diarrhea. No one told us anything until we picked them up! So we went to pick them up after we got back from Texas and could see that something was very wrong. They each had lost 4 lbs!!! The older one was so weak that by the next day she could not stand. We took her to the emergency vet in Coon Rapids where they gave her some IV fluids and prescribed some medication. We were lucky that she made it. Our other dog pulled through okay. The Bed and Bone is not a good place for dogs and there is no communication about your dog. After this incident, I never boarded my dogs again but used Rover to have someone come to the house and stay with them. I highly recommend them. It might cost more but it's worth it, not just in price but in care, plus you're not paying an emergency vet bill. Its a bad bad bad place!

Enter Happy Days.. Now they don't have all the accouterments that the other place has, but she still had a private sweet and plenty of place to get her run on. And reasonable too. About 33 a day. And she seemed happy to see us, too. Quite the drive for us, but than again, St. Bonnie wasn't close either. Would recommend Happy Days to anyone with a larger dog that needs some space to roam.

The staff here are excellent- the monitor play, sleep, health, and food intake, and really care about the dogs they look after. Zoe is now an older dog at 15, and we have no worries when she is at doggy camp. Happy Days has a wonderful facility, with a large outdoor play area and one inside as well. Additionally, whether it's scheduling a pick up or drop off, or calling with a question, Happy Days has great communication and answers phone calls or emails promptly. Lastly, they have competitive rates, so even though your dog has a great experience, it's not breaking the bank to have them looked after. We will definitely be taking Zoe here again in the future.

Our three dogs go there for spa services, day care, and overnights with our frequent travels. They will sometimes pick them up at our home and we have tremendous trust in them to care for our priceless pets. One of them is special needs (blind) and they ensure he's kept with our others and safe. We've had experiences where our dogs have come home injured and that has never been the case here!
