Dogs are kept in penned rooms that are part of a farmhouse. Structured activities include outdoor exercise, social interactions, and alone time. I had a similar experience as the other 1 star reviewers. We boarded our 2 Goldendoodles for 7 days while we went to Texas. Our dogs were kept in the basement where we were not allowed to go. Neither one of them ate while we were gone and we were not notified of this and they both had developed diarrhea. No one told us anything until we picked them up! So we went to pick them up after we got back from Texas and could see that something was very wrong. They each had lost 4 lbs!!! The older one was so weak that by the next day she could not stand. We took her to the emergency vet in Coon Rapids where they gave her some IV fluids and prescribed some medication. We were lucky that she made it. Our other dog pulled through okay. The Bed and Bone is not a good place for dogs and there is no communication about your dog. After this incident, I never boarded my dogs again but used Rover to have someone come to the house and stay with them. I highly recommend them. It might cost more but it's worth it, not just in price but in care, plus you're not paying an emergency vet bill. Its a bad bad bad place! read more

Our 6 1/2 year old Standard Poodle stayed at Bed and Bone too August13, 2024 . While we were on a cruise to Alaska. On August 23, we received a call/text from Madree that Jaxson wasn't eating. 10 DAYS AFTER WE HAD DROPPED HIM OFF !! She was worried but not overly concerned , what could she try and feed him. After looking at Madree's "log notebook" he really wasn't eating much at all during that time and was put in seclusion. We had asked to see where he had stayed , and because of so called liability reasons we were not allowed in the basement. (RED FLAG) Within 24 hours he ended up at her vet in Buffalo and from there he went to the emergency vet( Blue Pearl in Plymouth.) Jaxson was a very loving and social dog loved people and other dogs. Who waits 10 days without calling/texting a problem or concern?? True neglect on Madree & staff at Bed & Bone. I could go on and on but this will not bring my boy back to us. We are broken. Long story short....he had to be put down. read more

We have lived in Connecticut Virginia and Minnesota as dog owners and have known /worked with Madree for almost 15 years. She has created and run the best kennel we have ever used in all three states , and as a human being you will not find a more vigorous committed big hearted generous joyous loving person as her . She even came over last year when I was very ill, had no one to help and brought friends co-workers one day and helped me pack up my house to put it on mkt! Why is her kennel so unique? 1. She created a separate entire house with full spotless rooms for each size/ weight of dogs. Each room with giant picture windows has it's own huge outdoor fenced in yard with an easy access door for the dogs to go in and out at will. By keeping the huge dogs separate from the ,e.g., fragile 10 pound breeds you prevent what happened years ago to our young puppy in Virginia --- she was bitten while at a kennel in Richmond VA during their daily " all -dog" -in- one giant indoor room play time, then never informed us of this neck bite! 2. Madree's whole life and passion is focused entirely upon her business which she supervises meticulously. Her own home is right next door on a spacious property. She is extremely careful with whom she hires and the majority of her staff have been with her for a long time. 3. We had a deeply loved very very old Bischon Frise, Timmy, who lived to the age of 19.5. Madree and her entire staff showered tim with love and rare care-- they created a special space just for him right next to their office so they could hear him/see him at all times He even had his own sofa! WHO does this? Being so old he had a very special vegetarian diet including a spoonful of cottage cheese or yogurt. No diet is too complex for them and they take exacting notes at intake for all your pet's needs . Unbelievable. 4. And somewhere, I don't know WHERE Madree finds the energy and stamina to offer one way or ROUNDTRIP PICK UP/DELIVERY service for a fee. She rarely gets home from this until midnight . (Whew!) Over time the entire staff starts to become part of your family -- rare today. Most of all we never ever worry, each of our pets NEVER has had a problem and receives deep love and care with Madree and her great staff . PS. Her daily rates are quite reasonable. They offer bathing and gentle grooming and wait until Halloween -- she adores this holiday as much as I do. read more

Our Goldendoodle Rali spent last weekend at Bed and Bone Too and we were very happy with his stay. The staff are exceptionally helpful, friendly and flexible. I was pretty surprised there weren't already other reviews on here for Bed & Bone Too. I brought my dog here after receiving several recommendations from friends and even a family member. After having my last dog for over 15 years and having never boarded her, I was extremely nervous about boarding my current dog, who came from a rescue. I sent a few emails asking questions and visited them in person prior to our stay (I like that they require this - it's better for everyone involved!). One of the most outstanding features here is that there are NO KENNELS - the dogs are grouped by age/activity/personality with bunkmates, and they are free to go outside to a well-fenced area at any time. I appreciated that my dog would be staying in a home-type setting. So you can imagine exactly how that first experience went, right? I had only had my newly-adopted dog for a few months and felt like he probably thought he was being abandoned yet again. Yeah, I was a wreck. But the people at Bed & Bone Too were SO kind - very patient with me and assured me that my dog would be well-cared for. They also assured me that I was welcome to check on my dog (by email, phone, whatever) as often as I liked for updates. How right they were - my dog had a blast and has since returned several more times as I've traveled anywhere for both business and pleasure. Once I even got an email with photos of him playing and hanging out with other dog friends. They always remember him when I call, which means a great deal to me. It is so wonderful to go somewhere knowing your dog is having SUCH a wonderful time while you're away. One additional note - during one visit the woman working was carrying around a very small dog that she explained was blind and deaf, but that they periodically cared for. I was so touched by the way they kept this little dog with them, just like you would do if the dog was yours. The fees are very reasonable based on other businesses offering boarding, and the owner actually offers a taxi service - a lifesaver if you can't make the drive to or from yourself. The bottom line is, when you need to leave your dog you want someone who loves your furry family member as much as you do... and for that reason I don't go anywhere else. read more

I love to hear how much the crew at Bed and Bone Too say they enjoyed having my trio there (whether it was true or not). My guys are always tired when they come home, so I know they had fun. It's a comfort to know they're being well loved and taken care of while I'm gone. Madree and the staff are awesome and take it in stride when my guys have to mark their territory as soon as we walk in the door. My guys literally have their own bedroom with people furniture, instead of being on a cement floor behind a chain link fence. I could not recommend Bed and Bone Too any more! read more

Whenever we leave home for an extended time we leave our little dog with Madree and her excellent staff at Bed & Bone Too. We cannot express how much we love this place! Our furry friend gets such great treatment and everyone is so nice! It's easier to go away knowing we don't have to worry about how our dog is doing. read more

Writing this review is very difficult for me because I have mixed opinions. Recently, we left our two dogs (1 large and 1 small) while we went on a Christmas vacation. Our large dog, did wonderfully - I can tell she had a great time and was exhausted from so much outdoor time. However, my little Morkie was another story. When I picked him up, it was obvious that he was excited to see me (which is no surprise). It wasn't until the car ride home that I noticed one of his eyes was completely raw and pussy and that he wouldn't quit shaking. Once home, he went into his kennel (which he NEVER does) and wouldn't come out...and then the diarrhea started. We have been home since Monday and he's still not well - up at least 4 times a night to go outside (again), won't eat, and just lays sleeping. Going to take him to the vet today. What is most disheartening is that I called during the week and everyone assured me they were both fine. Maybe it was just the Christmas holiday, but I got the impression that the dogs didn't get any "people" time. Granted the rooms are nice and comfortable, dogs are separated according to size, each has their own outside run, etc. But, what I didn't ask (and I've learned) is how much time they actually spend with the dogs, how many dogs can be in one room (there were a LOT there on Christmas Eve), how they note or what they do if a dog isn't feeling well, etc. My caution to anybody using them is to just make sure to ask the right questions - being a rookie I had no idea what I should have been thinking about. read more
