This vet has a very strong idea of how he feels it is best to treat your animal. After allowing the…read morevet to examine my dogs, we talked about medicine refills needed. The vet was willing to fill the meds for pick-up at the clinic, but I declined due to availability and pricing elsewhere. I had the vendor I chose fax in the request with no response from the vet office. I called the vet and was told they never received a fax, so I had the prescription request sent again. With no response I called the vet office again and was told their fax machine was out of toner so they were not receiving faxes. I asked for a phone approval as my dog is on a time sensitive medication. The vendor I chose to fill the medicines attempted to call the vet office and authorization was not given. I called the vet office and asked what was going on and was told the heart worm preventive medicine was not one the vet office uses so they would not authorize the request. For the record the medicine I chose was the generic for heart guard. In regards to the time sensitive medicine, I was told my dog needed a blood test for this medicine. Keep in mind when I scheduled the appointment, I told the office I needed this medicine filled, we talked about it during the visit, blood was taken, and meds were offered onsite for much higher. Three days after I visited the vet and spent $435 on three dogs, I received a certified letter in the mail indicating they would no longer provide care for my dogs. I inquired why and was told because one of my dogs growled and showed his teeth when the unsuaul practice for examining dogs took place required that dog to be muzzled. For minds wondering, this dog is an 11 year old border collie lab mix that has never been agressive before this experience. In all honesty I could have swallowed "we don't want to treat this dog going forward", but to not fill reputable medicines after paying for exams and having testing done is unethical. I also received the medical records for the dogs, and the records clearly indicate they received the medication faxes the day they were sent. This vet should have retired years ago, has horrible bedside manner, and will only work with you on medications if you have his clinic fill the medications. Steer clear of this vet and treat your fur children elsewhere!

Because of COVID, it has been very difficult to find a place to take him today. Which is understandable. Every vet I have called so far today has no openings, but has given me tips that have actually helped while I have tried my hardest to find a place to go. Until I called THIS place. They were quick to pick up the phone. After explaining our situation, the first question the woman asks is, "are you a prior client to this clinic?" I had never been asked that before so I was a little flustered, and because it is my parent's dog, I was honest and tell her I didn't know. I assumed she would have asked for my information to check to see if I was in their system or not, but all she said was, "Because you aren't a prior client we cannot see you at this time." Again, I was flustered, but I couldn't think of anything else to say but, "thank you for your time." And then she hung up the phone without saying another word! I know I could have been more blunt and asked for her to look for my information, but if that is how they treat people, I don't like imagining how they treat pets. Overall sad experience.

I've brought my other chinchillas here a few years ago, and have had chinchillas for over a decade. I recently brought my third chin in because her food was dust like and she had some drool under her chin with watery eyes - so I thought her teeth might be too long or something else such as malo or stomach issues. They were able to take her as a drop off on short notice which was nice because my work schedule is tough to work around. I dropped her off at 11:15am and picked her up around 5:30pm on 1/11/24. They called around 2pm stating her teeth were fine, but possibly a stomach issue so they recommended a fecal, and we did that, later I got a call her gut ph was off and she will be ready with medicine soon. When I picked her up, they mentioned they were feeding her fresh lettuce and she was eating fine and kept referring to her as "him". I questioned why she was eating fresh veggies as in the past this same doctor recommended against it - they told me to trust Dr. Jina. I stated I would like to talk to her (as I was talking to a vet tech and receptionist), because I have questions and told them I don't plan to feed her fresh veggies going forward and that she's never had this type of food before. Instead of having the doctor come talk with me, like they said they would, they brought me a "brochure" as they called it (it's literally a typed word doc) on why chinchillas need fresh veggies - not even a professional brochure. They told me to trust her, and at that point I referenced the bad reviews about exotics passing away after going here and that it's hard to trust a doctor who wouldn't come out and talk to me & who previously recommended against this type of food and that I'm losing trust in her from this visit. I also mentioned that I was unhappy they fed my pet something without asking when I brought her with hay and sticks for her short stay. The receptionist and the vet tech then just stared at me for a couple minutes, waiting for me to leave - I had to REMIND THEM to bring me my pet, so I could leave. I used to recommend this place, but would not anymore, especially for exotics. it's pretty bad when you question the recommendations & bring up reviews that they then terminate the client relationship. Lastly - they didn't even pay attention when writing up her discharge paperwork, why on earth would she eat a Carnivore diet & what is Carnivore Care? Should be critical care. She also was eating, so idk why they kept referring to her as not eating / must syringe feed her.

Today I stopped by to pick up meds. I am told no one can come inside. Yet, staff is outside with their faces right next to customers open windows with no mask. Inside staff is either not wearing mask or wearing it covering half their face. (I don't much care if you wear a mask or not.) I asked why they are not letting people in and she says, we are behind on whats going on. So, I ask to speak to a vet to learn why no one can come in at this point. She informs me there is no vet on staff. I asked to speak to a manager to express that many people would like to come in with their pets and other vets are relaxing their covid rules. The lady again says there in no manager on staff. At this point they leave me to believe there is no licensed veterinary on staff and they're not allowing owners in because of this fact. Techs are doing the vets job and charging full fee to see a vet vs a tech.
