I took one of my cats here today. She was seen before here and I had great care so I took her again. I was even more impressed than ever by the techs and vet as well as the front desk staff! All of the staff are very caring and friendly. The vet was incredibly thorough and explained in details his concerns and options for treatment. The wait room and patient room s were very clean and comfortable. They offer both owners and pets treats and water. Although it can be a wait since it's urgent care triaged and first come first served, it was not too long of a wait. I arrived at the time they had open and was out less than 2 hours. That was during the lunch hour as well. Definitely worth the wait! read more

Love the team at Access Vet Care. We've been here twice, once when covid was still spreading but not as bad as 2020 so had to wait in the car while our sweet beagle was being checked out for UTI. Let me just say that this place is a great alternative when your pet is suffering and your vet is booked solid and going to the ER isn't really ideal. Like a true urgent care (or even an ER), when your pet is seen depends on the seriousness of the case. So waiting can seem interminable but in the end I felt it worked out. Your pet is in pain/stressed/anxious which makes you worried/stressed/anxious... all normal! So... what to expect: * As a few other reviewers said, get online asap and "register/check in". This means, the website will take you to a semi-long form asking for your details as well as a description of how your pet is doing and what is going on plus background medical history (not everything but things like current meds, if your pet has a history of a similar condition, etc.). * You'll get an email confirmation and a text message that you registered so make sure to input the correct email and phone number! * Once you are in the system and your details are reviewed, you'll get a text message letting you know that your pet has an appointment. Reply "confirm" and you are set. They give you a good 30-45 minute window to arrive. * Plenty of parking. Pets must be on a leash or in a crate. Once we got in, the team is great. Very sweet to our dog (treats!) and she got the care she needed both times. The docs explain everything very well and what is nice is that they tell you upfront what costs you may incur. They directly ask (on the intake form, too) if you have a strict budget. X-rays done. Diagnosis. Meds were provided. Care details. Boom. read more

I rushed my sweet little girl, Lucy to this wonderful place on Saturday as she was bleeding from her nose and mouth. After tests and a scan they discovered she had cancerous tumor that ate away at her palate also affecting her gumline.. Since November at my vet she was being treated for an allergy/sinus infection. There were no signs of a tumor until last week when I saw swelling in her mouth. She was not in any pain, was acting her normal self playing, eating and chewing on her bone. The tumor was too far gone and the thought of putting my sweet girl through surgery with still a bad outcome was something I could not do to her. We had to make that hard decision to do what was right for Lucy. They put us in a private room to spend time with her and when we were ready, with caring and gentleness, we let her go. Access staff were kind, gentle and a God Send to us. Their compassion and understanding of what we were going through will never be forgotten. They helped Lucy pass peacefully and painlessly and for that I will be forever grateful. read more

I've taken both my dog (Callie) and (Cat) Oliver to Access I can't say enough of how great the Staff are. they did my dogs surgery for ACL and I couldn't be happier. Receptionist is always very pleasant and shows concern about all the animals coming in. The only thing I wish is that they put more stock in what owner suggested there pet needs. especially when it comes to antibiotics, ,topical antibiotics have never been enough to treat heir infected hot spot, If we had put Callie on a short cycle of oral antibiotic along with topical I think her hotspot would be healed now.. but because we didn't, it's another trip to try oral , if than that doesn't work we start over.... I really. couldn't ask for any better care from all the staff!!! read more

I appreciate this business I agree that the scheduling for pets could be better but also realize that the triage process selects animals that need care first so my pet may have to wait which is hard. The staff do a great job caring for every animal that they encounter perks to all of them for everything that they do. My one request would be better follow up with the records of what procedures were done and the outcomes of those procedures. The timeliness in which this information is shared is poor at best in my experience. current process is less than optimal I feel that information is not being shared and follow up emails are not address. Nor having a face-to-face visit with the actual vet makes this very difficult. Overall it's a great place and they do everything they can for pets that they have never seen before and are new patients to their business and for this I'm very grateful. read more

This is our first visit here and when needed, I will come back here again even though its quite a drive across the metro to get here. Staff was kind, courteous, helpful and triaged the animals appropriately. The proper care was determined quickly, pain management was prioritized and the communication was through and efficient. We have fostered many many dogs and have cups of our own who have been through all types of incidents and we have been to myriad service providers throughout the metro area, this place, Shady Oak, IGHAH and AERC in St. Paul are all amazing facilities I am grateful for each of them. and so is Treasure. read more

Now I am just the appliance repairman that went in and fixed the washer and I was so impressed with the kindness of each and every person that crossed my path. Everyone was nice. I noticed they treated the pets like their own children. I had special requirements to work on the Washer, nobody rolled their eyes. They assisted me so that I could perform my craft. I brought my cat, Ernie, in and Le was the person who came out to meet us and hear what the issues were. She brought him back to the vet and then she came out to tell me they wanted to do an x-ray and was asking permission. I said yes ( it's Ernie! :) ) and then came back saying they had 2 recommendations. One more conservative and expensive than the other. I asked Le what she would do, and she said try the less aggressive one first. Had she recommended the more expensive one, I would have done that. This clinic has integrity (she could have recommended the expensive option), expertise (Ernie is doing great now), and a compassionate, warm and gentle person helping scared and concerned moms (Le). Update 7/1/22: Tried to get a return appointment (Access vet had said to bring her back in one week and cat is still limping and in pain). Note to others, all of todays appointments were taken by 9:11am. Advice to Hopefuls: Be sure to be on the site by 8:55am and refresh refresh refresh until the 9am opening of daily registration. That's how I did it last week, and didn't realize they would all be gone if I hopped on a few minutes after 9. I signed up for the waitlist. Last week they called the wrong number - an old number, not the one I put in my reservation, then when they finally called the number I gave them, asked if I could have my cat there in 15 minutes (wasn't possible). I have been to Access twice with my pup Louie and have had amazing experiences both times. This is an awesome alternative to an emergency vet if your pet is stable and not needing immediate care, but you would still like to receive care in a few hours. The prices are so much better than an emergency vet! My dog is typically scared of the vet, but the techs and Vets at access go above and beyond to make sure he is comfortable. They are SO patient with him. I highly recommend visiting access if you need care for your pet. Thanks Access for helping my puppy Louie get better without breaking my bank! My tip-you can stop by in advance and check in without your pet there. They will then call you when they are ready to see you. My two experiences the wait was anywhere from 1.5-3 hours. read more

Never again! I had to stand outside in bitter cold with a sick puppy, waiting for an appointment. I had him inside my lined flannel shirt and my wool coat but gee he was still chilled when they finally saw him. Gee, I wonder why, Gave them a second chance when another dog needed to be seen ASAP. More reasonable than the emergency vet. But you get what you pay for. I checked in as soon as they opened it, still wasn't seen for 8 hours! It took a week for them to e-mail about actions on his test results, despite several calls. Even then it was just a forward of another e-mail to someone else, they didn't even bother changing the pet's name or gender. No prescription, though one was needed. By then it was too late. I'll never come here again. We brought our four month old kitten in as a weekend emergency because of a pale nose, extreme lethargy and lack of appetite- all of which was not like our little kitten. Every clinic I called said 'you need to get him seen ASAP', and as Access was an emergency clinic, we brought him there. They took him into free triage, told us that nothing was wrong, and sent him back out within ten minutes. If we had believed that vet's word that nothing was wrong, our little kitten would have died that weekend. Thank goodness, we later took him to a reputable emergency clinic, where they assessed that he was severely anemic and treated this emergent case with a blood transfusion, fluids, and kept him overnight for three days- all of which saved his life. Considering they didn't take the clear signs of our otherwise spunky kitten seriously, I unfortunately can't return or recommend the care that Access provides to anyone else. read more

We have been quite unlucky with our animals being sick lately. We actually has a really bad experience previously with a Emergency vet, and we easily decided never to go to that place again. So when one of the dogs got sick with round worm, (yeah I know, super gross) we found Access Urgent care, and were beyond pleasantly surprised. They are located in crystal so they were about a 6 minute drive from us, and when I called to explain the situation, they lady I talked to was so incredibly sweet and said come on in and we will put you on the list. She told us a time frame, and we were allowed to leave and come back in an hour if we didn't want to sit around which was great because our puppy can be quite hyper. She warned us it may be over an hour, but actually got a call in 20 minutes that a room opened up! The site is decorated beautifully and you can tell they take great pride in cleaning and making a good impression. They even had a donation jar for those who can't afford an expensive pet bill! They have very good prices to begin with though which was very lucky for us. I highly suggest going here for emergencies after 5, and they are open until 9pm! read more

This is such a happy place. We could not be more pleased with the care we got for our cat here. The first clinic we visited was cold and clinical (the facility was all hard surfaces and the staff wasn't much different. I'll admit my opinion is colored by the fact that they wanted to charge us nearly $1500 for a fairly simple procedure.) Access Vet Care was a completely different experience. Warm and comfy. Music playing in the lobby. There was a sweet black lab post-op (shaved side) behind the receptionist who was petting him from time-to-time. I later learned that he just wanted to be close to someone as he came out of anesthesia. The veterinarian gave our kitty such great care. She was clearly ready to find less expensive care solutions if she could. In the end, she recommended the same procedure as the first clinic, but Access charged about 1/3 the cost. After how they treated our cat and when I observed as they interacted with other customers, I would not hesitate to return here for any reason. read more

No you can't make appointments, but if you come early they will take you that day, simple enough. My 3yr old cat needed surgery and out of the 3 or 4 vets we had been to before, this place has been the best. The vets truly care about the well being of your animal and it really shows at this place. The staff is kind and the prices are very reasonable. I need to update my review after yesterday's debacle. I called on Thursday to ask about my chances of getting my Cat in to Access. I called at about 4 PM. I was told to bring the cat right in as they were not really busy right then. I explained that i was still at work and would not be getting home till late. I told the receptionist that I will have to come on Sunday early since i work all weekend. I arrived at 10:45 and there was a line about 10 People deep ahead of me. they open at 11 . i noticed there was a sign on the door that said No Vet Techs would be available that day. I checked in with the receptionist and was told they were scheduling appointments and was asked how far away i lived. I said about 12 miles away. I was then informed i could come back and they would fit me in at 6 PM. ( 7 hours later) So, i had two choices. I could hang around Crystal with my Cat in her carrier for 7 hours. I could drive all the way back home. take my cat out of the carrier only to put her through the stress of getting back in her carrier and then back in the car for another 22 Mile Drive to Access for the 6PM appointment. I told them that i would not be doing that at that i also would Never be returning to this Clinic. For a place that claims that the have come up with a " Better" Model for Vet Care. I quite frankly don't see it. What is the point of being a walk in Clinic if you have a receptionist with a Laptop scheduling appointments? and if you want your pet to be seen you have to wait for hours on end or leave and return...It is not worth it. I have made an appointment with my neighborhood vet and will have my seen there and then. I might be more expensive..but time is money. read more

I have never experienced such lack of compassion and poor customer service at any vet I have brought my dog to. I brought my dog here for an extensive teeth cleaning with multiple extractions. My appointment was made weeks in advance, which I never received pre-op paperwork for or a reminder call the day before. When I arrived at the vet that morning, no one was there and the door was locked. The vet was sincerely sorry for the inconvenience and we rescheduled promptly. My second visit was worse, I dropped my dog off for a 10am appointment to find out they were 1.5 hours behind, which I understand happens with dental work. When I received a voicemail 5 hours later I was expecting that they were telling me that I could come pick her up. This was not the case, this was a call to tell me they were just getting started on her teeth cleaning. The fact that there was no communication during the 5 hours time frame when my dog was sitting in a kennel is unacceptable, considering I let the director know that she has anxiety being kenneled at the vet. When I picked her up from the vet that evening, I was just happy to pick up my pooch and get out of there. The vet had to leave early so I was not able to pick up any discharge paperwork, I was told they would be sent to me that evening. I have reached out to receive the paperwork and 3 days later I still have no paperwork and have not received a call to see how she is doing. Needless to say, I would not recommend bringing your pet here if you expect anyone to act like they even remotely care about your experience. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because I don't believe this is the veterinarians fault, when I was there Dr. Jenna was very kind and understanding. read more
