Our visit is complete and as hard as these decisions are to make the process was comforting. This is my first time using this type of service and I can't tell you how glad I am to have chosen MN Pets. From the first contact to saying our last goodbye the process was very smooth. Communication was great. Our sweet girl blessed us 16 1/2 years of joy and love. She will be missed but knowing her last day was filled with calm love and kindness fills me with comfort. Thank you. read more

An extremely compassionate, professional and timely service. Their customer service is impeccable and their staff is knowledgeable and caring. Dr. Mike is what you would describe as someone who found his calling. Professional, caring and respectful. He answered all our questions and still asked us if we had any more questions or concerns. I highly recommned this service. read more

After weeks of being in denial that Behavioral Euthanasia was recommended by multiple behaviorists as well as our primary vet, I reached out to MN pets hoping for respectful and compassionate end of life plans for my sweet girl. I was met with a condescending and judgmental tone and comments. They acted as if I was making this decision lightly and as if THEY knew what was best for MY dog, and made a comment alluding to how I hadn't done enough for her...not listening to what led us to this point. I even told her how this scenario is a lot more complex than what she was making it out to be. I left a review on Google as well and the owner replied excused it as part of their process.... LOL. Unprofessional. Go elsewhere. read more

Dr. Kelly is a very professional, respectful, and compassionate veterinarian. She explained to us every step and what to expect. She asked if we had any questions. She gave us time to process and say our goodbyes. We did not feel rushed. Teddy crossed the rainbow bridge in a loving atmosphere at home with family members present. We loved him dearly and will be sorely missed. read more

From the first moment of listening to the wonderful and kind woman on the other side of the phone I knew this was the right place for our family. MN Pets were patient and understanding answering all of my questions. They had great communication and follow up. Dr. Mike came to our house and was kind and compassionate and we didn't feel rushed. He talked us through the process and made sure we didn't have any questions. Our girl Bella meant the world to us and I'm glad she got to cross the rainbow bridge while in our home surrounded by love and family. I would recommend MN Pets again and again. THANK YOU! Dr. Mike was incredibly empathetic and a fantastic listener. He came exactly on time, and helped our cat out of pain and eased us into life without our beloved pet. I can't say enough about the service provided by "MNPets". They came to our home this morning, and our lab Maggie experienced a beautiful, peaceful, painfree, and dignified passing. I will forever be grateful to them for helping us all through this heart wrenching experience. read more

We are so grateful to the team that came to our home today. They were kind, compassionate, and professional every step of the way. We lost our girl Rosie in February due to cancer. She was only two. It was the one, if not the worst days of our lives, but Dr. Karen came to our house and gave Rosie the peace she needed. Rosie had such a beautiful soul, and we miss her so very much. Dr. Karen was very professional and kind. Deciding to put your loved fur baby down is beyond heart wenching, but I would highly recommend MN pets for the final care of your pet. The pain is still there, but for someone who is needing to make this hard choice, I just want to say, hang in there, it does get easier with time. Thank you Dr. Karen for what you do, it can't be an easy job, and thank you for your kindness and patience. - Christina Shawn, Ethan, and Jackie. read more

5 stars! Unfortunately, I had to say "goodbye" to my big girl," Xena" the Presa Canario. Since she had advanced cancer, I had the option of scheduling her passing with an at home euthanasia service. They were referred to me by my vet at Andover Animal Hospital. So I called MN Pets for the first time. The whole experience was smooth, compassionate, and painless. MN Pets came to my house. I was able to say "goodbye" to Xena in her home, on her favorite Tempur-Pedic mattress and surrounded by her toys & her stinky blankets. (She never liked the blankets after I washed them!) I was so out-of-sorts, I don't remember the names of the doctor and her tech. (To add insult to injury, my father died the day before my dog died.) But they were wonderful. I really can't say enough good things about them. They also made clay foot impressions, they took my big 160 pound girl away, and they mailed me a card with a well-written note. The timing of a pet's passing is hard and for obvious reasons, it isn't always smooth. Many times you aren't able to plan it. But if the stars line up in such a way that you can schedule MN Pets, I highly recommend them. -Maxx read more

We can't thank MN Pets enough for the peaceful experience we had yesterday with Dr. Rebecca in helping out sweet dog Katie to pass gently and painlessly. It is a day we will always remember with love despite the heartbreak we were feeling. I can't say enough about how skillfully Dr. Rebecca guided us through Katie's passing--in a way that honored and remembered our wonderful pup. It has really helped our sadness to know we treated her in such a humane, loving and respectful way. If you find yourself in this situation with any treasured pet, MN Pets is worth the cost. Scheduling was very compassionate and easy (I cried during the entire call...) and they really delivered more than what I expected for our family. As hard as it was to euthanize our 13 year old dog, Katie, I am left with a feeling that we did right by her (versus an office visit) and a sense of peace. Highly, highly recommend if you find yourself in this unfortunate situation with your pet. read more

I am so grateful for MN Pets and their amazing support and compassion during the very sad process of saying good bye. From my first contact by phone I couldn't believe the fantastic response. Even the outgoing voice mail message and continuing understanding and comforting messages while I chose to hold and then leave a voice mail. Their immediate response to both my message and the online form I filled out while waiting at 4am on a Sunday was unbelievably supportive and understanding. The entire process was so kind and comforting from start to finish. I've had at home services before. But these folks go above and beyond in every detail. I can't begin to express my appreciation and thanks to Drs Mike and Misha for their patience, warm understanding support and compassion. Animals have such a strong ability to assess humans quickly. My 10 yr German Shepherd likes all people. Despite being very sick not wanting to stand up and sensing something unhappy was about to happen, he got up and walked across the yard to greet Dr. Mike with his tail wagging. That speaks volumes for these folks. They were so kind and respectful of my boy and so patient in checking my comfort level at every step in the process lightened the burden of the always difficult decision. On top that this was not only a weekend but a holiday weekend. I know this is a difficult process for everyone in the veterinary profession as well. They were so gracious, understanding and giving of their time, I can't say thank you enough to the Doctors and the entire team at MN Pets. read more

I've been struck lately by the number of people I encounter with pets who are in end-of-life stages. While it's always heartbreaking to lose a beloved pet I have noticed another layer of grief after 2020. These animals helped us get through one of the hardest years of our lives and because of that, the bond is even stronger. Which is all the more reason to give them every ounce of comfort and love and kindness when their time has come to cross over. I would never recommend a business such as at-home euthanasia unless I 100% stood behind it. And I DO 100% stand behind MN Pets. I was asked to be present while a dear friend said her final farewell to her sweet Oslo. I heard the initial phone call that she made to inquire about services, pricing, and scheduling. I was impressed by how kind the person's voice was and how there was no pressure whatsoever to make a decision in that moment. Day-of the euthanasia a veterinarian and a vet tech arrived at the house. They were both so compassionate and sweet and gave us plenty of time throughout the different steps to have private moments while they waited outside or nearby. They explained every step, took care of every bit of the whole process so that all we had to do was be present with our sweet guy. And at the end, they made a paw impression in clay and also made a memory stone with Oslo's name on it as a keepsake. A couple weeks later the same Vet and tech sent a hand written thoughtful and personalized card in the mail. The whole experience took something that was dreaded and awful and turned it into something beautiful and peaceful and meaningful. read more

Incredibly grateful for Dr Rebecca and the in-home services she and her team provide. At our most difficult time, they were kind, thoughtful, patient, respectful. These folks deserve an extra star, at least. Sadly, we knew we had to put our beloved Stella down on Christmas Eve. Dr. McNeil was able to come to our house in under 4 hours of making the initial call. She was so kind and gentle. It was a quick and peaceful process. Stella never seemed scared or agitated. MN Pets followed up with an email offering condolences and grief resources. A week letter we received a hand written card from Dr. McNeil with very kind words and details that indicated that she was listening to us. They are literal earth angels. Everyone I interacted with -- whether by phone, email, or in person -- was exquisitely sensitive and kind. It was such a sad, awful day in so many ways, but having done this with other pets before at vets' offices, saying goodbye at home with MN Pets is a MUCH better experience. All my baby knew was that he met two new friends (Dr. Erica had a lovely DVM student with her), he got some amazing treats, and then all the pain went away. Right there under his favorite tree, on a beautiful day, with his mama kissing his sweet head and telling him how much I love him. They took his body away on a stretcher, all cuddled up in blankets. We got his ashes back about 10 days later. We also received a hand written condolence note from Dr. Erica, which was so personal, so detailed, and so very empathetic. I'm crying my eyes out writing this, but some of the tears come from gratitude and the utmost admiration I have for Dr. Erica and the entire team at MN Pets. Angels. They are angels. read more

Our dog of 12 years, my best friend in this whole world, suddenly started to decline about a week after we noticed he wasn't wanting to eat as much as he normally did. He was also acting like he no longer knew how to control his back right leg. It kept sliding out from underneath him. We had a normal vet appt scheduled but the day before said appt we noticed blood coming out of his ear and saw that blood entered his left eye, so we took him to the 24hr ER vet. $1,200 overnight visit later all we could figure out is that his red blood cell count was a little low and the overnight vet confirmed had no longer had a connection between his brain and his back right leg. To get more info we would've had to do an MRI or CT scan (I forget which) which would've been thousands more. But with him now being blind in his left eye due to blood entering it, blood coming out of his ear, and him not having control over his back right leg, we knew there was clearly something very wrong that he wouldn't be able to recover from and to spend thousands more just to get a name on the issue would've been pointless. I loved my dog too much to let his quality of life be poor just because I can't imagine this world without him. He had been terrified of the vet his entire life. Ever since adopting him at 9 months old he was a very sensitive boy. He was the most cat-like dog I'd ever met. I do think he had trauma from being in a shelter environment where dogs were barking 24/7. So being in the vet and hearing dogs barking freaked him out and made him pace like crazy. Knowing this the entire 12 years we had him, I couldn't let his last moments on this earth be in the place he hated the most. The day he was discharged we called MN pets and they were incredible. We scheduled an appointment for the next day. I was gutted and couldn't fully fathom what was happening and that I was losing my dog. He and I shared our entire day together doing various things and eating plenty of filet mignon before the vet came at 4:30. Our vet was incredibly kind and respectful of our home and the situation. She was thorough in explaining the process and what to expect. She stepped out and gave us time we needed to love on him before he got the first injection of meds to make him super sleepy and essentially non-responsive. After that first injection we got his paw print impression done. She then stepped out to let us say our final goodbyes to our sweet angel boy. After we did just that, we called her back in and she administered the final injection to stop his heart. She retrieved the bed/carrier she uses to carry pets out to her car. He was tucked in under a nicely folded plaid blanket with his head resting on a matching plaid pillow and she carried him out to her car. We chose private cremation so his ashes would be returned to us, which were ready for pickup about a week-ish after he was put to sleep. I'll use MN pets for all my future animals. The peace of mind in letting them pass in the comfort of their own home is well worth the extra cost. I will miss you for forever, my sweet Cheddar. read more

We had a vet named Dr. Michael come today to put down our pet cat. He was kind and caring. He was very good with our two daughters and allowed us all to take time with our beautiful boy. We will use them again for other pets but I hope that will not be anytime soon. Would highly recommend to others! read more

MN Pets is amazing! We lost our precious dog (He was 12 years old) overnight on Feb. 18th, We were clueless as what we were going to do because he weighed at least 125 lbs. and there was no way we could lift him nor did we want to even if we could have. So we called MN Pets and they took care of everything! I am sorry I don't remember their names but I don't even know how to describe them. They exceeded my expectations by far! They were so compassionate and caring! They made sure my husband, my granddaughter (only 9 years old) and myself were ok and made sure to answer any questions we had. I have told all my family and friends about this service. And we will use this service again if ever needed! read more

Don't let them send you Dr Kelly L for cat euthanasia. She will needlessly restrain your perfectly calm cat for the sedation shot, causing your cat's last conscious moments to be unnecessarily confusing fearful and panicked. My previous four experiences with MNPets we're perfect so I regret having to leave a one-star review but I want this to be seen so other people and their pets can avoid this happening. I deeply and sadly regret not speaking up for my poor cat and stopping what was happening but I was so vulnerable and grieving and shocked. read more

I can't recall any other business conducted with such excellent service by people who are so caring. Not even churches or funeral homes come up to their level of responsiveness, helpfulness, and care. The in-home euthanasia option is less stressful for all, and they gently lead you through it all. Nothing is rushed-you proceed at a pace all are ready for. And they give you a paw print and a hand-painted little stone, both with your pets name on them, as remembrance. I have nothing but praise and thanks to add. read more

She was kind, helpful, and validating. She gave us Luxe's paw prints, and we are going to be able to get her ashes soon in carved wooden urn. I am so glad we opted for at home euthanasia. The end of your pet's life, this isn't something you want to talk about or even consider and yet it is a reality of pet ownership. This service provides kind, gentle care to help you get through a really difficult time. We used them last year when we learned that our beloved Great Dane Daisy had bone cancer. She had suffered a shoulder fracture and it was time to say goodbye. We needed for her to be comfortable and peaceful. We did not want to say goodbye and yet our companion was suffering and was not going to get better. This service allowed us to have the euthanasia done in our home around our schedule. Over the phone they explained what to expect and gave some ideas about how we might want to prepare. The vet who came out was so gentle and compassionate. She encouraged our kids to speak to and hold our girl through the process. Afterwards, she was willing to allow us to act as the pallbearers carrying our baby to her car, because that was our wish. She prepared a soft space for her and tucked her in gently. Afterwards they delivered Daisy's ashes back to us via our own vet in a beautifully carved box and they sent us a lovely condolence card. This is one of the hardest things you have to do as a dog owner and MN Pets made it so much easier. read more

Dr. Tali was amazing. This was such a hard day for us. She came to the house and was so sensitive to our needs and very patient. On August 29th at 3:37 pm, I lost my best friend, Bindi Sophia Her body ached with pain from 14 long and beautiful years of age, she was tired and telling us it was time to let her go. I spent her last 48 hours feeding her, giving treats, playing with toys, napping on the ground, cuddling in the yard and sleeping on the floor with her at night. On her last day, we spent the whole day in the comfort of our backyard playing, eating and resting in the sunshine. We had a wonderful service (@MNPets) come to our home to help Bindi with her final journey. She was surrounded by her loving family in her own backyard, peaceful and stress free. I laid with her as she drifted into a deep sleep and I held with her as she took her last breaths until her heart stopped beating. I kept telling her how good of a girl she is, how she is so loved and that we would meet. This was the first time I lost someone that was part of my everyday life and my first time being there while someone died. Dr. K did a wonderful job reassuring us about our hard decision and making this a peaceful experience. I will never forget this moment. At first we didn't like the idea of it happening in our house, but when they said they could do it in the backyard I changed my mind. This turned out to be the best decision we could make. Today we made the decision to put our beloved 16 year old Oliver down. Over the past several months, Ollie had lost his hearing, his sight and had developed K9 dementia. Although his health wasn't what it had been, he was still able to enjoy many aspects of life - walks in the neighborhood, visiting the grandkids, traveling to the cabin and, of course, table scraps and treats. Three weeks ago he was able to enjoy one last trip to the cabin and seemed as carefree as he had been as a pup. The trip to the cabin this past weekend was not as enjoyable for him. He had stopped eating, wanted to sleep with intermittent cries of anxiety or pain. Last night we had realized that it had come to be his time. After reading articles and tests online to determine his level of quality of life, we researched veterinarians that provided in home euthanasia. He suffered an uncomfortable night and in the morning we contacted MN Pets. The reception staff were courteous, kind and helpful. We were able to get an appointment with Dr. Erica at 12pm - Ollie wouldn't have to continue to suffer. Dr. Erica was wonderful. She was kind and compassionate and patient. She took time to clearly explain the procedure, how Ollie might respond and handled the necessary paperwork with care. She asked about Ollie and stories about our life with him. She made us feel comfortable with her and immediately became a trusted person during this very emotional and intimate time. After giving Ollie medication to sedate him, she took a clay print of his paw and allowed us time to spend with him when he wasn't in pain or having anxiety. Spending such close time with him before he passed was important. You cannot rush the process of letting a loved fir child pass on. Dr. Erica was calm, soothing and comforting throughout the process. When it was time, she administered the medication and monitored his heart until he had passed. Dr. Erica left us with a paw print, a remembrance rock and a feeling of peace in caring so compassionately for us and our Oliver. After this positive and peaceful process, we would never take a pet to cold, sterile environment of the veterinarian office when we can be in the comfort of our own home with the support of a caring veterinarian like Dr. Erica. Anyone who has ever lost a pet, knows the void that experience leaves in your heart. With my last dog, when it came time to make that decision of choosing between quality of life over treatment that probably wouldn't help, our vet came to our home, helping us move forward. MnPet does the same thing and Ronni, who came to help with our cat Andy move on, was caring, understanding, and being a licensed vet, was also able to affirm our difficult decision as being the right decision. Our cat hates his carrier for vet appointments. He was not a fan of the vet. Using MnPet allowed my ex and I the chance to spoil him, hold him, and have him end his time with us in a place he felt truly comfortable. It was the right choice, and I would use them again when I need to make the decision with any other animal I have. read more

I wish I could give more than just 5 stars. Dr. Marissa came to our home today to help our old boy to go home. We just had to put down his litter mate last year and went the vet route. I will always use MN Pets going forward and can't recommend them enough. It's been a rough year with ups and downs so I reached out several times when we thought it may be time. They are so incredibly kind and genuine in their emails, calls and in person. Dr. Marissa called to let us know she'd be heading over about 20 minutes before which I didn't realize would ease my anxiety so much. She arrived and was SO respectful of Covid procedures (last thing on our minds when you're saying goodbye). She came and sat in the sun room with us and first just talked about our boy, what he's been going through and listened to my tear-filled rambling, never making us feel like we couldn't be ourselves with our emotions. She explained the process and made sure that we all felt comfortable. She moved as slow or fast as we wanted, leaving the room to give us some alone time to say goodbye. Her words and actions were 100% genuine and put us at ease in a way I never thought would be possible. When it was time, she carefully and SO gently placed him in a bed, covering him and tucking him in as if he were sleeping. Every single step was in our control and we felt as though she truly cared for our boy AND us. I don't think the service is much more (if any more) expensive than going to a vet. While our vet is incredible and we love them, nothing could compare to this experience. I can't say enough great things about MN Pets and how wonderful of an experience it was, considering the circumstances. They are truly angels helping families with one of the hardest decisions they'll ever make. Dr. Rebecca ended up fitting us into her schedule the day off given the nature of his rapid condition. We elected to do in-home euthanasia as our dog was blind and quite elderly, so I was worried that a trip in the car to a noisy vet office would cause additional stress. It was an incredibly peaceful experience. Dr. Rebecca made a hard day easier.
