It's too difficult to discuss at the moment but at the very least I want to give thanks to Tali for helping with my dog Johan and making sure he was in the best care! Thank you so very much!!!! read more

We had a sickly kitty, and he took a turn for the worse over the weekend. We are new to Minneapolis, and in the few months we were in town, we weren't organized enough to take the fuzzy guy to a new veterinarian. Plus, not surprisingly, he hated being put in the cat carrier and going to a veterinary office. I'd had friends who'd had their pet euthanized at home, and it seemed like the most peaceful way, (for both us and our pet), to go through this very sad experience. I looked online and found that MNpets specializes in this kind of service. I called them in the morning and was pleased to find that I could make an afternoon appointment. The operator on the phone was sympathetic and was happy to answer any of our questions. At 4pm Dr. Melinda arrived and she met Mr. Pants. She quietly walked us through the steps of the procedure and was patient while we decided when to start the process. Once we began, the whole thing took less than 15 minutes, and Mr. Pants was able calmly fall asleep next to me while I scratched his head. Although sad, it was a very peaceful experience. We then filled out the paperwork, and Dr. Melinda wrapped up Mr. Pants in a blanket and took him to be cremated. It was without a doubt the most stress-free way I could have imagined this experience being. The procedure is a bit expensive; but all the costs are clearly detailed on the website, so I knew what to expect. And after Dr. Melinda left, my husband and I agreed it was money well spent. If you are thinking of this kind of service, I cannot recommend MNpets more highly. read more

Excellent service. Handled our kitten with kindness. and care. Great caaring people. Really helped us through this difficult time.

Our cat had been battling cancer for over 2 years but we could see she was nearing the end of her fight. We knew what we had to do but did not want to take her in to a vet and have her last minutes filled with that type of additional trauma. We heard about MNPets and called and made the appointment. Dr. Sue came and she was amazing. She helped uplift family through a very difficult decision and made sure that Loki's last moments were pain-free and peaceful. I cannot day enough for the kindness and compassion Dr. Sue should during the whole time she was with us. She was amazing. Thank you Dr. Sue!!!! read more

I scheduled an appointment with MN Pets and needed to change it to a same-day appointment when my cat took an unexpected turn for the worse. They were very accommodating and were able to get a vet out to me that day. My cat ended up dying a couple hours before Dr. Melinda arrived, but she was very compassionate and comforting as she checked his vital signs and made a paw print memento for us. I would encourage anybody who is losing a pet to use a home euthanasia service, and I very highly recommend MN Pets. read more

We've used MN Pets three times now since 2012 to send 3 of our Labs to Heaven. I can't say enough how pleased we've been with their services.  I couldn't imagine saying goodbye to my precious babies in the cold sterility of a Vet clinic. We had the best Vets come to our house, on time, professional, compassionate and allow us to participate in saying goodbye to our beloved dogs. Each time, they were patient with our other dogs who were curious and confused as to what was going on. They allowed us to do prayers and blessings that were important to us and carry our dogs out to the car "with honor " after they passed. They sent condolence and support services afterwards which left us feeling supported. And the cremation boxes they use are absolutely beautiful. I can't recommend their services enough when you're in a heartbreaking position. A value for price, but emotionally, they are priceless! read more

We had to say goodbye to our 18 year old cat, Leo, today after he finally succumbed to kidney failure. I submitted a form online early in the morning and within an hour and a half, I received an an email back saying they could come that afternoon. I was so impressed by how compassionate and supportive the correspondence was. Our experience only got better because Dr Jessica was phenomenal. She brought a peaceful and comforting presence to our home. She thoroughly explained the whole process and made us feel completely at ease. We were able to do the whole process outside where Leo could breathe his last breaths of fresh air. Dr Jessica made one of our toughest days just a little bit easier. Last night we put our 15-17 year old border collie down. Your gal (wish I could remember her name), came to our house, all three of my dogs instantly bonded to her as well as myself, and my son. We had been putting this off for such a long time, but knew this needed to happen before the 4th of July, as he really had a hard time with fire works. Jack was so calm in her presence, your vet had such a calming affect with him (and us). She made us feel peaceful, Jack was relaxed from the moment she came onto our deck. All three of my dogs loved her instantly. She made something that I was so afraid of, beautiful. Jack looked into my eyes, (something he didn't do very often), I believe he was telling me, that is was ok to let go, while licking peanut butter off of my fingers. My daughter didn't want to be there as she didn't want her last memory of him to be a bad one. My memory of him, is how peaceful he looked. I picture him falling asleep with love in his eyes. She carefully put him in the carrier on top of a blanket, then covered him up, with another blanket, and left his head out so we could still see him. My son and I carried him to her vehicle, it was serene. She allowed my other dogs to come along, my lab, jumped in her car and wanted to go with. I would like to also mention, that the Vet made a claw paw print and asked my son, if he would like her to make another one, just for him, and he said, "no, I might break it", she then pulled out a colored rock with Jack's name on it and it handed it to him, and said, "then this is just for you". He told me he will always carry it. Jack would have been terrified if we had put him into our car and drove to a clinic. It would have been horrible. You do such wonderful, humane work. If only people could pass so peacefully. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. read more

Can't express enough how grateful we are for the compassion demonstrated yesterday as our beloved Buffy was euthanized. Dr. Sue listened to our stories thru our tears, didn't rush us, sympathized and gently informed us of the process. I have high expectations and the total experience of making the appointment, laying our Buffy to rest and the follow up emails have more than exceeded my expectations during a VERY difficult time. Highly recommend MN Pets. read more

I have used the service three times in the past, and I called about euthanizing one of my cats after she has become more and more aggressive since getting kittens. She left on my head and left claw marks on my scalp. It is a very painful time. What I got back from the service is a veterinarian telling me I should bring her to the Humane Society and actually having the insensitivity to lecture me about how they can find her another home, and why haven't I considered, and so on. Further, she says she is calling on behalf of her supervisor. She did not listen. This is already an amazingly traumatic time for me, and to be subjected to a woman with such a little basic sensitivity and understanding you're stunning to me. Do not use this service!. There are other services that are better. read more

I recently had to put my 14YO dog Pearl down and as anyone knows, it is the worst day in the world! I had called MN Pets on a referral and honestly the anticipation of seeing them arrive was so tough, but I knew I was doing the right thing. The minute Dr. Jessica came she helped make things as good as humanly possible. Her calm and respectful demeanor, and the steps they take to explain things along the way helped ease the pain. (And my friends and the bottle of Rose we also helpful!) Every detail is thought of--even taking her body away in a beautiful basket with a blanket. After putting down two other dogs I would never go to the vet again but use MN Pets. read more

My niece's fur-baby had been diagnosed with a terminal illness. As I was searching for a place that helps animals transition over to the rainbow bridge...I happened to stumble upon the website for MNPets. I submit an online request for a conversation around 9pm. Around 7am the following morning; I received a call from Hillary in regards to my request. Hillary was so sweet and compassionate to help with our questions and inquiries during this difficult time. She was informative, patient, and sympathetic towards our needs. We had an appointment set for the same day and that's when I met Chelsea. She is such a godsend to us. I am so grateful and so blessed that she was the doctor who will be guiding and assisting my family through the process from A-Z. She was the sweetest, most loving, and such a beautiful person inside out. She helped make this transition as smooth and pain free as possible. I would recommend this company to anybody due to my personal experience with them. I cannot thank Hillary and Chelsea enough for all that they do. It's folks like them that helps make this world a better place. read more

I've used MN Pets for two of my beloved senior cats, and both experiences were extraordinary. I had two different doctors, both of whom were amazing, and the customer service was always incredible. Prompt, compassionate and professional. Our visiting vet was sweet to our little guy and kind to us, explaining everything along the way.

I've been meaning to write this review for some time. The staff from MN pets came to my house in April, 2019 to assist in sending our girl Leia home. Dr. Susan was very patient with me and only went at the pace I was comfortable with. Strange thing is, Leia hadn't been able to get up off of her bed after a fall a week earlier without whining in pain. But, when the doorbell rang and Dr. Susan came in, Leia was at the door to greet her. Then she went back to her bed and laid down, as if she knew it was time. After the medication was administered, Leia slowly went to sleep. Dr. Susan waited patiently and quietly as I lay with Leia, and cried. Then, an assistant came in and she and Dr. Susan took Leia to their vehicle. Dr. Susan then gave me a painted stone with Leia's name on it and I cried again. Such a sad day but made more tolerable by the care and concern of the staff of MN Pets. I would highly recommend them and plan on using them in the future for when we need their services again. read more

Woohoo! Certanly isn't the way I would describe any euthanasia, but my experience with Dr. Rebecca of Minnesota Pets Gentle Euthanasia at Home was certainly something I want to share for anyone who has to go though this - Doing it at home was such an amazing experience that I highly recommend it. I had to make the hard decision last Tuesday after 2 months of a quick battle of lymphoma cancer. My 5 year old dog told me it was time. Knowing how much she hated going to the vet I didn't want to make this even more stressful for her so the Dr. came to our house and talked us through the whole process. She engaged our other dogs and was even very patient with our puppy who seemed to be a little nervous. Gave us time with the dog we had put to "sleep". I will be telling everyone I know about this service cause the old ways of taking the dog away and the kids or the other dogs not having a chance to see it are over. This totally made this decision a very peaceful one. Knowing she did not suffer in the end was so wonderful. read more

Gracie the special cat. Running up and down stairs, staring out windows and sitting by her favorite blanket is what I most remember. When the bad news came that Gracie had mammary cancer MN pets was immediately referred to as the best in the business for in-home euthanasia. Dr. Helen came in and performed the procedure -- she was patient, understanding, gentle and very professional. Most of all, she was empathic and compassionate. Thank you Dr. Helen for making a sad day a little lighter. read more

Our elderly cat was tired of being dragged into the vet just to be poked and prodded when nothing could be done for her anymore. Kidney failure had taken everything from her and her existence was nothing but pain. Thanks to these compassionate people beyond anything words can express. They came to our home and took her pain away, and eased ours a bit. I will never forget what they did for her and our family. read more

My cat had just been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and the vet said he had days or weeks left. Of course, his time came on the Saturday before Labor Day. I couldn't let him suffer for 2 days for the vet to open nor did I want to make a traumatic visit to the ER so I found MNPets online and they came out that same day. Dr. Crowe was the most compassionate vet I could have found. My kitty was not the easiest or cooperative to work with so I'm very grateful for her help. The process itself went smoothly. As she left with my cat, she said "I'll take care of him as if he were my own." That's the one thing I remember her saying from that traumatic day. I received his ashes ahead of schedule and also the most beautiful condolence note from her. I have great respect for vets who perform euthanasia; it must be so difficult. Dr. Crowe has to be one of the best. read more

I cannot thank MNpets enough for the care they took with our Golden, Anna. Sadly, she passed before they were able to get there, but we couldn't bear the thought of having to transport her ourselves. They came and made a lovely paw print and asked us about our favorite memories with her. They carefully laid out fleece blankets, tucked one under her head and snuggled her in on a stretcher when they left. It was so sweet and respectful. We had options of how we wanted her cremated and they said they would deliver her ashes in a wooden urn back to our vet. I figured I would have to get something nicer after we got her back. The box they delivered her in was absolutely beautiful and had very intricate wood carvings of little daisies on the top. It was absolutely perfect and given the choice something I would have picked myself. Everything was so wonderful and we cannot recommend their service enough. Thank you so much for the care you took with our beloved pet. It made the day so much easier. read more

They exceeded my expectations in every way possible. The vet came into our home and treated our sweet girl as if she was her own pet. The vet was professional, compassionate and communicated each step clearly with us. She ensured we were ready before moving on with each step. I feel it is so important for me to review MN Pets and the outstanding care, compassion and service they recently provided for me in the last moments of my cat, Buddy's, life. I had never used this service before but found them online while searching for home euthanasia. Buddy's primary vet also recommended them. I didn't want to put Buddy through more stress in a car ride to the vet. MN Pets' website was clear and detailed. It was very informative so I could pick and choose the services I wanted and knew clearly what the cost would be. The website also had resources so you knew when the time was right. I received a call same day after scheduling a visit but I know you can also schedule future visits. I was given a 3:30-5:15PM window and Dr. Krahmer was at my home at 3:30PM. She came so prepared. So patient. So warm and kind. So caring and understanding. She instantly was like one of the family as she came in to meet my family and Buddy. She was thorough in her explanations and told us exactly what we could expect. She gave us all the time we needed with Buddy. She was gentle with him. She made sure he was comfortable the entire time. He was on his favorite blankie surrounded by loved ones and an amazing vet, we could not have asked for a better way to say goodbye to our sweet boy. He went home so peacefully. We were still given as much time as we needed with him. Dr. Krahmer came prepared with a soft basket to take our sweet boy with her to prepare for his individual cremation. She gave us all hugs before she left. She truly felt like a family member. She was an angel, a blessing to us. MN Pets can bring the ashes to your primary vet which is what I chose to do. I picked up Buddy's ashes today in a beautiful wooden urn. MN Pets also has provided further care and support through my grieving process. Saying goodbye to our furry loved ones and knowing when the time is right is SO, SO hard but I can't imagine doing this without MN Pets going forward. I am so grateful for Dr. Krahmer, for this organization and for the love, care and compassion they have shown me, my family and most importantly, Buddy. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. read more

Our dog, Dexter, had always been scared at the vet. We didn't want his last moments to be when he was frightened. When we knew his time was here, our vet recommended Mn Pets, because we could put him down in our home. For us, we didn't want a memory of him passing in our home. We were able to put Dexter down on a hill, on a friend's farm, after he had just chased a squirrel (in pain, but he was so darn happy). He passed away on a blanket peacefully, outside on my lap, not scared at all. Dr. Rebecca was the most wonderful thing in explaining what would happen and helping with logistics. Many thanks to Dr Wise and the MN Pets team for helping my family through the passing of our much loved cat Simba. We felt fortunate when it was time to help Simba move on, MN Pets were able to send Dr Wise within hours of our call despite yesterday's snow storm. It's taken me nearly 2 weeks to write this as the loss of my little guy rocked me pretty hard. I had to make a call to MN Pets on a Monday morning knowing I'd have to say goodbye to Brody that afternoon. From the initial call to MN Pets through the process to a surprise sympathy card received yesterday- MN Pets surpassed my expectations. Dr. Amber was absolutely amazing. She had more compassion and showed Brody nothing but love from the moment she arrived until the minute she left with him. She was gentle with both of us the entire time and she actually had me smiling and laughing at points. She related to me on so many levels and made a horrible day so much less painful. I received a card in the mail yesterday- Dr. Amber wrote about all of the things I told her about Brody and I was amazed that she remembered all of it--showing how much she truly cares. I honestly cannot say enough about Dr. Amber and MN Pets! They are truly amazing in every way. read more

I have to say my experience with MN Pets was heartbreaking. After coming to the realization that I needed to let my 16 year old dog go yesterday, I called and made an appointment with MN Pets and was assured of a 3:30 pm appt. My family and I had been hoping for a while longer with our dog, but yesterday morning, we knew it wasn't to be. So we began preparing, and saying our good byes. At 2pm, we got a voice mail from MN Pets saying that our appointment was the last appointment of the day, and that the vet was out on an emergency call and that my appointment would have to be rescheduled for Saturday or Monday. Excuse me!? You just don't do that to a family at a time like this. My daughter and her husband had both taken the afternoon off work to be with us. My situation was an emergency as well. My dog would likely not have lived another day, and I did not want to risk her death being traumatic for her. I could understand the vet having an emergency call, but why, then, couldn't she have come to my house a little bit later the same day. That's what should have been offered when you are dealing with the emotions and the grieving process of a family who is losing their pet. But to tell me that I would have to wait another day, or wait until Monday!? I was devastated! By the time they called me, I couldn't find another vet to come to my home, so I had to take my sweet girl to the vet. It was totally devastating to my family and I that we couldn't surround her at home as we had planned. If you are going to run a business like this, you should not ever cancel an appointment on a family. I could have totally understood the vet coming a little later, and that should have been offered to us. If you run this type of business, then the vets need to be willing to complete all scheduled appointments the day they are scheduled even if it means working a little later. I will not ever recommend this company to anyone who is facing putting their pet to sleep. The entire time that we were at the vet, I was wishing that we were at home with our sweet girl where she could have gone to sleep in our bed. read more

Dr. Mary with MN Pets was wonderfully kind, compassionate, and respectful when our adored family dog Lucy developed lymphoma at age 12+. Her decline from the time of the diagnosis was very rapid, which made things difficult for all of us, especially our children who had know Lucy their entire lives of 10 and 12 years. Dr. Mary arrived in the expected time frame, she clearly explained how things would happen so that we could arrange for our children to leave when they wanted to, and she listened to our stories about Lucy. It's amazing what these vets are willing to do for families to make something that is so difficult just a little bit easier - I couldn't imagine going through all of that, especially with our children, at our regular vet clinic. I'm so grateful that this company exists. read more

Can't recommend Minnesota Pets enough. I had to put my first dog to sleep and it was a heart and gut wrenching process. However, I can't imagine how much more difficult the process would have been if I didn't have it done at home with Minnesota Pets. Dr. Helen was calm, knowledgeable, and interacted with my two cats. She was so compassionate and tender with my dog, and always knew the perfect thing to say. In the end, my dog got to pass away peacefully in his own bed, with my other pets near. He didn't have to endure a car ride or passing away in a clinical space. I was able to spend quality time with my dog, hug him, and carry him out to the car. I also received a clay paw print and was able to choose from several cremation options. I could go on and on. Don't even hesitate to go with this service. You won't regret it. read more

I made an appointment online for a home euthanasia service but selected a date 5 days away. Unfortunately MN Pets lacks professionalism and care for their clients and furry friends. Our sweet dog Penelope's health declined rapidly over 24 hours and we were in need of hospice care. We did not want to take her to the vet as she is anxious and deserved a peaceful end of life. We called MN Pets and they graciously agreed to come to our home later that afternoon. In the meantime we canceled our appointment with the vet and made Penelope comfortable. Thirty minutes after MN Pets was scheduled to arrive we received a phone call saying they were unable to come due to car trouble. Naturally we were upset as it was the weekend and our only other option was the emergency vet (ie not an option). When we pushed back and expressed our concern asking about a backup option, the owner responded with an email (no phone call) saying the backup vet couldn't come due to "road conditions". Yes, it was MN during the winter but it was completely clear and safe to drive. We were able to find another company that was at our house within two hours and had no problem with the roads. The other company (Lap of Love) was incredibly professional, sweet, respectful and cared not only for Penelope's well being but ours as well. I am beyond disappointed with MN Pets and will never use them, nor can I recommend them to anyone. We are life long pet owners and will be using Lap of Love for all our hospice needs in the future. I recommend you do as well. MN Pets lacks professionalism and care for their clients and furry friends. read more

After researching online the best home euthanasia options for our dog, I decided on MN Pets after watching a video on their website of MN Pets founder Dr Rebecca McComas speaking about her company and their process. I felt that she genuinely cared and wanted to help people and their pets during this very difficult time. I checked the interactive map of service area first and saw that we are out of their service area by a little bit. We are literally 2 miles away from the edge of their service area according to their map but I figured it wouldn't be a problem and I was willing to pay a little more than the $50 travel fee. After discussing things with my husband we decided on a date and I filled out the online form and sent it. As promised on their website a representative from their company called within 10 minutes of my submitting the form. She began by apologizing and letting me know that we are out of their service area. I explained to her how close we were according to their map and that I am willing to pay more than the $50 travel fee. She again I apologized and said they can't do it because they go by ZIP Code. She offered to give me numbers for other options which I gratefully excepted. She emailed me 4 options: one is 2 1/2 hours away in Duluth and doesn't travel this far south. Next was a mobile vet who I contacted and hasn't gotten back to me. Another is a regular vet clinic in St. Cloud (nearly an hour away) which we aren't currently clients of and has zero information about home euthanasia on their website. I haven't contacted the fourth option yet because, quite frankly, I am beyond emotionally exhausted trying to figure this out. It's already an emotional and devastating decision we are making for our dog and it's being made worse by the fact that MN Pets won't budge on an extra 2 miles because of our ZIP Code. I guess I feel that in the business of home pet euthanasia, going just a little further for a potential client to help them during a really difficult time is good business. Perhaps they need to change their interactive map to a list of ZIP Codes and let people know that if your ZIP Code isn't on the list don't bother. read more

Last night we had to put our Lab to sleep, and I just had to post a review about MN Pets. We knew we just couldn't take our girl to the vet to be put to sleep -- we wanted her to be comfortable and in our home. Dr. Amy came to our house on last-minute notice and she was SO wonderful. Caring, compassionate, gentle, patient -- those are just a few words I'd use to describe her. From the moment she arrived, she took the time to get to know our girl, answer our questions, and let us grieve as much as we needed to. She didn't rush us, explained every step of the procedure to us, and was so patient as we cried. All of this made it a bearable experience. I can't recommend Dr. Amy and MN Pets more highly - I'd give 10 stars if I could. read more

I've never actually done an online review before but I was so impressed with MN Pets (even under such sad circumstances) that I felt compelled to do so this time. We had to put to sleep our sweet, patient, and loyal yellow labrador after we learned that he had end-stage liver failure. My husband and I were devastated. We don't have human children so our dog was our baby. Dr. Melinda came to our house and was kind, patient, and truly understanding. She explained every step of the process and waited to go through each one until we were ready. She made sure to reassure us that we were making the right decision. When she left, I felt comforted in knowing that she actually cared about our dog and would make sure he was taken care of properly. A few days later, we received a handwritten card from Dr. Melinda that was so sweet it brought both my husband and I to tears. I will use MN Pets for my family anytime it is needed in the future and highly recommend it to anyone making the difficult decision to euthanize your pet. read more
