6/4/21 I have been a…read morecustomer at St. Micheal vet for well over 6 years. Never really an issue with them, so I continue to see them and pay thousands for their service. Today I stopped by to pick up meds. I am told no one can come inside. Yet, staff is outside with their faces right next to customers open windows with no mask. Inside staff is either not wearing mask or wearing it covering half their face. (I don't much care if you wear a mask or not.) I asked why they are not letting people in and she says, we are behind on whats going on. So, I ask to speak to a vet to learn why no one can come in at this point. She informs me there is no vet on staff. I asked to speak to a manager to express that many people would like to come in with their pets and other vets are relaxing their covid rules. The lady again says there in no manager on staff. At this point they leave me to believe there is no licensed veterinary on staff and they're not allowing owners in because of this fact. Techs are doing the vets job and charging full fee to see a vet vs a tech.

Although I was told that dogs are not allowed near the bins where the bags of food are kept, I was told by a worker while picking up my dog that "it looks like she got to her food bag," which is made of zip-lock plastic, and now I'm concerned with how much she ingested. Overall, the Lucky Pets staff is aware they're understaffed, but continue to accept dogs into their care that they do not have the staff to properly/safely watch and take care of. Extremely disappointed after how great it was a few weeks ago.

If you want top‑tier care for serious or urgent issues, this is absolutely the place to be. I was offered one of their Canine Wellness Packages, and while the flyer was helpful, I didn't receive much detail about the terms, conditions, or exclusions beyond what was printed. I like to fully understand what I'm signing up for, especially when it comes to annual plans. I purchased the $432 Wellness Package, which includes two comprehensive wellness exams, two intestinal parasite screenings, internal organ function screening, and 5% off additional services. The flyer shows there is also a $663 Enhanced Package, but I wasn't offered that option during my visit. For reference, I spent $3,557.73 last year on my middle‑aged chiweenie, and the wellness plan saved me $1,404.59 -- which is impressive for a healthy dog with no chronic conditions. She only had a few minor issues like diarrhea from eating something she shouldn't have. I can see how this plan might be even more valuable for dogs with chronic medical needs, but for my situation, it was still a meaningful savings. Companions also accepts direct pay from Trupanion, which makes expensive emergencies far less stressful because you don't have to pay everything upfront. That said, due to financial reasons, I'll only be bringing my dog to Companions for true emergencies going forward. I came here for three reasons: 1) I have a dog that pulls on the leash and she was able to fit my corgi properly with a harness (because I was certain I was doing it wrong.) and she gave me tips and encouragement to continue training for better behaviors. 2) I am super picky about ingredients in dog food and treats and she was able to give me a ton of insight to confirm my research and suggest some things to pay attention to. 3) Lastly, my dog is a chewer and I have been scared that most options out there have the risk of tooth breakage. I went in today for an orientation and a walk through at about 10AM. IMO, there were way too many dogs in each area. The dog rooms are small and dimly lit, and all connected, so the atmosphere is very loud. I was shocked at how many large dogs were in such a small area. As we walked through with the staff, a fight broke out between two dogs. Others joined in because there was no where to go. One staff in the room for about 20-25 large dogs. No wonder. There is simply not enough room for the number and size of dogs in that space. I would never leave my dog there.

This veterinarian was so accepting and non judgmental at a very vulnerable time, that she was a gift to me and my precious cat.
