Don't take your dog here. Staff is incredibly beligerant and rude. Not sure what happened over the last few months, but the people I really like here quit or leave. Some really strange and irresponsible people are in charge of your dogs life. Keep that in mind. The new manager seems to have issues understanding, or even being available for questions at all. Have been going to Adogo for over 5 years. Service has progressively gone downhill. Front desk staff is inconsistent depending on the staff. Some seem more interested in their phones than in actual work. I drop my dogs off at opening time...I have had to wait for someone to get there. They gave my dogs leashes to someone else....gave me two cheap loaners and offered no apology. Finally got my originals back a week later. I purchased replacements. I asked to speak with a manager. Was told there wasn't one there. I pushed and a supervisor appeared like magic. Have tried to get grooming done there. They cancelled the first time as the groomer had quit. The next two times groomer didn't return my calls for days. I made alternative arrangements by then. I tallied up my spend....at least 20,000. I have moved my two dogs elsewhere. They need to up the talent and monitor for good service. So disappointing. read more

We brought our dog in there mushu he was walking and happy. Picked him up 6 days later and had to have emergency surgery for his spine. He no longer can walk and hold his pee or poop. I've never written a review about any single establishment in my life. Before I begin, let me make this clear that I am not blaming this business for what occurred, this is my way of seeking answers or guidance, to see if someone else has had a similar experience. I am looking for anything that may help myself and my fur baby, as I am desperate. My dog is my absolute best friend, my soul mate, he is my everything. I've never boarded him anywhere before, I went out of town last minute and I boarded him at Adogo Maple Grove. Prior to this he was in great health, he ran like a grey hound, with only some mild allergies that were ever of any concern. Suddenly, on the day I was returning home from my week long vacation, I had one of the most painful phone calls of my life. My precious dog had become paralyzed from the waist down. I spoke with the emergency vet who said if she performed emergency surgery on his spinal cord to remove fluids, etc. would give him a 50 percent chance of ever walking again. 10 days post op, we still have no feeling in his rear legs. I am trying to remain hopeful but it feels close to impossible. The vet believes it's most likely IVDD, which I don't disbelieve but I do feel like there is more to it. I've requested video footage from Adogo from the duration of his stay, they claim the footage doesn't record and is only live streamed, which very well could be true. Although, I just cannot wrap my head around any of this. I am so heart broken, I don't know where to begin as I just cannot gather any of my thoughts, naturally. Something like IVDD can be very random and sudden but usually there is an incident leading up to it and it's usually common among certain breeds that are predisposed this disease(my dog does not fall in this category). So for me I am beyond shocked, hurt, lost, confused, and here I am wondering if spending 8,000 dollars I don't have, on a surgery that may not even potentially work, is worth it. I am at my wits end. I've spoken with several members of their staff, the owner himself, and multiple vets to get their opinions. To my dismay, no solid answer prevails. Our 2 dogs absolutely love coming here! We have used Adogo for day care as well as boarding for a couple years now and just recently had them take care of one of our dog's nails! The dogs are always so excited when we pull up to Adogo-so it makes us feel comfortable that they are getting the best of care! They also use cameras in the playrooms (indoor only) so you can watch your dogs interact with the staff and the other dogs. If you have any special needs or concerns I would encourage you to talk with them about it - so far they have always been great in accommodating us and we are about as picky of dog parents as you will find! read more

I had a very good experience at the Maple Grove location registering the dogs and sending record etc. We scheduled the "evaluation" meeting for two days later. The morning of our appointment, less than an hour before we were to leave, I was contacted by a brusque person advising one of our vets records was not acceptible? The clinic was out of state and not open for business so we were not able to resolve our differences. The clinic did not have an email for the vet clinic to use, only the owner has an email address. It does not appear the Maple Grove facility is well organized, the definitely need access to email for the front desk and local staff and they could benefit from training in customer service. read more

Very poor management, like other reviewers said. We first brought our puppy to Adogo Maple Grove in October. The staff was friendly and said our pup played hard so needed naps. Our pup seemed to like the staff. After that, we brought our puppy in again for boarding in late October. Upon pickup, they said she was good and played hard. Then, we brought our dog to doggie day camp in Dec. At about 2 hours in, we received a voicemail saying that they didn't understand why we had brought our dog in since she was banned after our October visit. Upset, since this was a shock (we've never had issues at any other day camp or dog parks), I called back and spoke to the manager to get details. The manager said that an employee told me she was banned when I picked her up last time. No one said a thing to me about bad behavior. Later, the owner called to explain their position. I can appreciate their want for all pets to be safe but instead of discussing the matter, the owner lectured me. Adogo's mistake in telling us she was banned in October when I booked boarding for Christmas resulted in us scrambling to find a place for the dog last minute after most places were booked. read more

I highly recommend Adogo for boarding and doggie day care. The staff is very welcoming, pleasant and responsible. They will provide special services at no charge such as administering medications and special feeding requirements. Upon request (at an additional fee) they will bathe and groom your dog and use your own special shampoo and conditioner, if supplied. I've toured the facility and found it to be immaculate! I love both the indoor and outdoor play areas that allow for fresh air to the dogs. I especially love the doggie cams so I can peek in and see how they are all interacting; it definitely makes me more comfortable and gives me peace of mind. Charley loves this place and can't wait to meet the other dogs once we arrive. And, he is always somewhat reluctant to leave his friends behind when it's time to go home. I've been bringing my dog, Harley, here for a few months now for overnights when we go out of town. He loves it and the webcam makes me so happy. Their facility is clean, the staff very friendly and prices are reasonable. He comes home adorably exhausted from playing with the other dogs all day. My pet went to Adogo in MG quite a few times in the span of 1 year. I loved staff, they were always friendly and greeted me with a smile. They all knew my dog's name! We felt so welcome! The negative side to Adogo is that we stopped going there due to the fact that my dog came home with bleeding cheeks from other dogs' rough playing. (I know my dog is a rough player as well.) It didn't happen every time, but we did have quite a few scabs that hardened and fell off within two week of her playing at Adogo. I know they watch the dogs very closely and I don't think they meant for this to happen. It just happened too many times even after I mentioned it to them. We ended up going to Lucky Pets in St. Michael which is far closer to my house. In addition to the above, the live cameras didn't work half of the time and when I called to tell them, they didn't seem to care much. I would have liked to see better care in regards to other dogs' rough playing and I would have liked to hear a better response when I called about the cameras. However, overall, I would recommend Adogo to a friend or relative - the staff is what makes that place awesome! read more

NOT WORTH YOUR TIME! I had an overall horrible experience with the Maple Grove Adogo Pet Hotel. From beginning to end the entire process was completely disorganized and unprofessional. About a week ago, I called to schedule a tour of the facility, as well as my temperament test for my puppy since it was our first time trying Adogo. The woman on the phone scheduled both with me for 9:00am the following Saturday. I was asked to have my vet fax over my puppies records beforehand and told that I would receive a phone call from someone with Adogo if they did NOT receive this ahead of our scheduled visit. I never received a call, so I assumed we were good to go! As we entered the "pet hotel" for our appointment there were four employees standing at the front desk. Not one greeted us. Two were helping another customer, and the other two just stood there ignoring us. (Great customer service) Finally, one of them said they were taking our pup back in a separate room. They did not explain exactly what they were doing with him, but we assumed they needed to do an overall check and then we would be on our way with the tour. A different employee then called the back office to ask if we could get a tour. She hangs up the phone and proceeds to tell us that they do not offer tours in the morning, only in the afternoon- so we would have to come back in a few hours. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW during my initial phone call! (We had plans with our dog that afternoon, and were only planning to be at Adogo for 1 hour tops.) They then asked ME if my vet sent over the proper records. Can't they check this? I thought the vet sent everything because I never heard otherwise. When the employee finally gets our dog settled in the other room, she comes out and says, "Okay, we'll see you in about 4 hours." WHAT?! We are baffled at this point. I explain that, as per my conversation on the phone, we thought we were coming in for some quick pup temperament tests while my husband and I received a tour of the facilities. Instead, they apparently need to see your dog for AT LEAST 4 hours to complete this "test". This would have been nice to know ahead of time! We explained our frustrations and asked them to bring our puppy back so that we could leave. This was overall extremely irritating. We put our puppy through a situation where he was nervous and scared for no reason whatsoever. Had Adogo been more organized from the beginning, and explained the process in full for new customers, we could have avoided this altogether. We have a very well behaved dog that loves everyone and gets along with every breed. The Adogo handler was having a tough time getting him to listen to her, which was a bad sign right from the start. He was afraid. Needless to say, our puppy will never be using their services. read more

We've used Adogo three in the recent months and 2 of 3 times have had problems. The first time we used them because our regular pet-boarding facility was booked. We did have a minor issue that I considered to be a fluke, my dog was injured there (a minor cut on the paw) and required vet care, but things happen so I didn't hold it against them. The facility itself was new and decorated in a bright, modern way, and I liked it. Used them a second time for one day, it was fine. No concerns there. The third time my dog came home after our vacation and was so ill that he had to be given an IV and kept overnight by an emergency vet. He vomited while at Adogo, and they were kind enough to call us to come get him on our second to last day of vacation. Since we couldn't change flights, my mother in law drove an hour to pick him up and bring him to our vet, where he stayed for 3 days. Our vet believes the illness was caught at Adogo based on the incubation period. Our dog is not exposed to other dogs outside of Adogo. At this point, I'm absolutely never going back to Adogo. Yes, they have a beautiful, modern building and it looks cool, but I've used them three times and two times have had issues that didn't need to happen. read more

Boarded my dog here. Left a message 4 days prior to my dog's stay that didn't get returned until the day prior to my dog's boarding. They proceeded to tell me I had to bring my dog in to be evaluated or he wouldn't get to participate in doggy daycare during his stay. Explained that we had not had any issues in the past and that he had stayed in the Minnetonka location before and had great reviews. Also this was less than 24 hours before being boarded Was able to talk Stacy into allowing him to be evaluated when I dropped him off instead of forking over $19 for daycare. She also explained that typically they don't allow dogs just to be boarded if they weren't evaluated. Within 3 hours of my dog being there Stacy called to say that my dog wouldn't be allowed to participate in play sessions with the other dogs because he supposedly started a fight with another dog. Asked that I pick him up. I explained that we were already out of town and there was no one available to pick him up. Also noted that for some reason this location is more expensive then the Minnetonka location. Not sure why this is different. The staff were friendly when I dropped him off and picked him up. I would highly suggest that they provide a detailed receipt explaining all fees instead of just the charge slip with the total amount and that calls are returned in a timely fashion (1 business day). There is an air of arrogance with this location. Won't be visiting this location again. read more

Our dog came home with a bloodied eye on one occasion and kennel cough on the other. Needless to say he will be returning to adogo. It seems to me that the consists of younger females who just do not put as much time and effort into individual care for the animals as they should. I'm sure this is a fine place, however, I tried to board both of my dogs and was told they won't take my smaller dog--no evaluation, nothing. She is 7 lbs, and too small they said. They told me smaller dogs aren't usually very social!! She was one of 7 dogs and is extremely social. At least give evaluations so you can make an educated decision! I suppose you have enough business and don't need mine. Too bad, because my dogs have been to a kennel many times, without any issues. You not only lost my business, but when asked about a referral, mine will be to go elsewhere. read more

Adogo is a great place to bring my dog. She's a very active boxer and needs socialization and exercise occasionally that we can't give her all the time. They are very accomodating even when I call the same morning I want to bring her for day care. We have also had many overnites there and she loves it and is worn out after her visits. They are do good nail trims/dremels. And prices are reasonable especially when you sign up for their rewards club. GREAT JOB! read more
