They don't answer their phones. The question i have is if they refuse to answer before the kennel is booked, what happens when you need to reach them for say, an emergency. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I received a response from the business furthers the point. They said "Thank you for your feedback. Im sorry you found it difficult to contact us. We have multiple channels of communication for our clients and prospective clients. Email, text, FB msg, and you can leave a voicemail. We have successfully coordinated and communicated with hundreds of clients using this system. We do realize that it may not be as fast as you would like if you are inquiring about last minute boarding over a holiday." it's clear they want to avoid actually ANSWERING THEIR PHONES AND TALKING TO A PERSON... notice in their response they even admit as such. They want to use digital methods of communication only. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. You aren't an online warehouse shipping rugs. You are caring for pets. Learn some business etiquette. There was a recent event involving a family member of mine who brought their black lab named Suzie Q in to Blaine Kennels. A (now) former employee was fired, and stole this dog that was clearly not hers. This could have been avoided if the ownership of this business had escorted her off the premises, however they instead left her in a position to take this dog with her after being terminated, and those in charge have washed their hands of the situation and have shown no accountability for their handling of the situation. They are now deleting related posts on social media in an effort to avoid scrutiny. This is a horrendously run operation, and the BBB is going to now be involved as the local police department is not currently interested in helping due to the legal system being on somewhat of a hiatus with the pandemic currently in effect. Ownership is denying any knowledge of this event, and there is validation from the dogs owner who can verify that these claims are true, (dog is chipped). If you are considering bringing your dog to this kennel, I highly recommend you look elsewhere. Ownership has recently changed the cover photo with this black lab in the picture, and is doing everything they can to make the situation go away. Those in charge clearly have no conscience. Moving back to the area and needed a safe comfortable place for our Boston mix and French Bulldog as we moved into our home. First time experience and I was very happy with the personal care for our babies from the owner Thomas. OMG, I can't believe the bad reviews. My dog was so happy and I left her for training on a one month program. When I went to pick her up she cried to see me but also some of the staff did too knowing that I was taking Reba home. She was great and I , because of Leukemia had a hard time walking her. She listens to me all the time but when visitors come she still jumps. I forgot to tell you she is still a puppy. I am taking her back for a free tune up. They were great and Reba loved them. Kennel employee stole my boyfriends dog March 2020 while he was undergoing brain cancer treatment, after surviving a brain aneurysm. Court has ruled four months (July 2020) later the dog is in fact stolen. This place has been zero help, and you can actually find their post regarding this entire situation with nothing but it's on their Facebook. DO NOT TRUST YOUR ANIMAL WITH THIS PLACE. The employee also used the business credentials to try to rechip the stolen dog in her name, again proven to joy be substantial evidence and dismissed in court. I love brining my dog to training class here! I have a German Shepherd who is an independent thinker to say the least! Moriah has been amazing with helping me understand her more, and what will help work with her the most. I personally use a prong collar (it's one of the only tools that she'll listen to) and I love that she accepted it being used. I've had other trainers try and Shame me out of using it. We're currently going into our last session for the beginner class but I do plan on putting Aston into the Advanced class as well as enrolling my boyfriends husky in classes as well! We brought our one year old Golden Retriever in for a month of training. We are so pleased with how well it went. She came home and has been so well behaved. More importantly, we learned how to best care for her. Thomas was very calm and attentive during and still after training. He comes to our home to work with us and our dog, brings her puzzles and has been available by text or phone if we have any questions. read more

We recently adopted a rescue and part of the deal of getting her was to sign up for obedience class. Although our dog was pretty good prior to class, she still jumped up on people when excited, didn't know us enough to follow, etc. Mariah was an amazing trainer. I was a little nervous at first (only because she is so young) but after meeting with her and seeing the confidence she has when training, my fears went away. We just recently completed our 6 week training course... our dog passed with flying colors! Our Golden Lab/German Shepard mix is so much more well mannered, she excelled at the basic commands (sit, stand, stay, heel, down, recall, etc). We are so excited to get her into advanced training here as well. Everyone is very friendly at Blaine kennel, and I could tell Mariah truly loves the dogs she works with. Our dog took an immediate liking to her, and really seemed to enjoy the classes. I would highly recommend Blaine Kennels and Mariah's training course! read more

BE CAREFUL. I couldn't agree more with some of the negative reviews, especially Kevin S regarding lack of responsiveness. I sent the company three emails regarding my package (I had purchased ten half day boarding sessions and had eight left that I wanted to use, but didn't see that I could book half day sessions). I never received a response back. When I called, their answering machine stated that the date was June 28, 2021 and that they were full for 4th of July weekend. Hello?! June 28 was over a month ago! You would think the owner would update the voicemail on the answering machine. I sent yet another email requesting a response. I finally received a response back saying that they are no longer doing 1/2 day daycare and that the all day daycare was being phased out. I was informed that my package would convert to an overnight stay. First I don't board my dog anywhere (I use Rover) and second, based on the reviews on this site, I would NEVER leave my dog here overnight. It sounds like the owner doesn't even care if he retains customers! Very sad. I asked for a refund of my money. They did agree to refund my unused doggy day care. We will see if I get the check that they stated they would send. I will "update" my review in a few weeks to let folks know if I received my refund. read more

Took our dogs to Blaine kennels for boarding. The first night at home one of them started coughing and not doing well. The next day our veterinarian diagnosed him with kennel cough and said his recent vaccine must not have had time to take affect to keep him from getting it while at the kennel. When I called the kennel to tell them he had gotten kennel cough during his visit they were quick to dismiss it as the vaccine gave him kennel cough not their kennel, I said I thought they should help with the cost we have incurred and they said the would not do anything and denied that they had any thing to do with it. There was no concern for the fact our dog had gotten sick or willing to accept any responsibility. read more

Arrived for appt with a trainer to "evaluate" my dog for a tranning class, the parking lot looked empty except for what looked like employee cars which should have been my first red flag, however I was trying to have an open mind about the whole deal so I proceed to get my dog out of the car and walk through these huge metal doors. Side note; The sign out front reads were not fancy were family or something to that extent. (Random kinda odd none the less) Once I walk in I see four or five woman behind the front counter, not one of them greets me... Not even a hi let alone a welcome to Blaine kennels aka welcome to doggie hell camp. After the youngest of the group pushes the phone she was yelling on to the lady next to her, she stumbles out the gate and shakes my hand and introduces herself... Then goes around the corner and I'm like soooo am I suppose to be following you or what's the deal.... Yes she replies as she is walking out the door I came in. Kira (I believe her name was) led my dog and I to this "training room" as I step through the door it reeks of dog heavily! I tell my self okay it's a dog Place of course it's gonna smell of dogs. As I am about to call out come to my dog who would not even enter this "training room" the trainer girl grabs his leash and yanks him over the threshold. I was appalled! Really I said this is how you train your animals? Before I could even get the words out of my mouth, she assumes I'm referring to what was in her hand (mind u I haven't even realized what she was holding.) I was referring to the way you just yanked him through the door! At that point I look to she what it was and it was a huge metal choke collar with prongs!! Seriously I'm sorry but it that's how your going to train my ten pound dog I'm good, I will go else where. Oh and when I mentioned something about positive reinforcement approach she looked at me like I had lost my mind! And continued to defend the collar, well mam it doesn't hurt him blah blah blah....once I grabbed my dog and started walking to my car she slammed the door to the "training room" and mumbled something I couldn't understand. Needless to say I won't be returning ever again! I honestly can't believe they're even in business.......unreal!! read more

I love Blaine kennels. I went through beginning and advanced dog training with my dog Mocha. The trainers were very knowledgeable and really seemed to love all the dogs. I have received so many compliments on how well behaved Mocha is when we are out for a walk etc. I also board Mocha at the kennel when we go on vacation. She always wags her tail and runs up to the people at the kennel when we drop her off. When we pick her up, she also wags her tail and always wants to have the kennel people pet her before we go back home!! Thank you Blaine Kennels for taking such good care of my Mocha!!!! read more

We've brought our golden doodles here for boarding and daycare in the past. My husband is happy with the daycare as the staff always seem excited to see our pup but their weekend boarding prices are ridiculous. First of you, their hours on Saturday are 8-12, you have to drop the dog off by noon. But they don't open on Sunday until noon so if you drop you dog at noon on Saturday and pick up at noon on Sunday they charge for 2 full days, hence 1 overnight stay (24 hours) for one dog is nearly $60. We will now start looking for other weekend boarding options. read more

We boarded our dog, who we had for 5 years since she was a pup, there multiple times. I'm just going to tell you what happened and try not to editorialize, even though that is difficult. Our dog, a pit/terrier mix that weighed about 40 lbs, was excellent and loving around people but not around smaller dogs. Blaine was well aware of this, it was in their notes. 2 hours into a weekend trip out of town we got a call that our dog had killed another dog there. We were devastated of course. They said she got under a fence or moved some cement block and got into another area of the kennel and killed a small dog. A police report was filed by the other family, understandably and we were called and questioned. When we picked our dog up Thomas the owner said he felt terrible, consoled us and then just as we were leaving gave us the other dog's vet bills ($342) and asked us to pay it. We were still in shock, knowing we were going to have to put our dog down now after our discussion with the police and this was how he left us? "Pay this bill" We had boarded our dog that weekend specifically to keep her safe and any other dogs we might be around that weekend. We feel terrible for the other family of course. They had to be in shock too and hopefully they were treated fairly by BK. But it is clear they were responsible for 2 dogs losing their lives that Friday, not me. We put our dog down that week - very traumatic. After a week or so and we were no longer in complete shock we decided to go back to see exactly what had happened. Thomas took us to the back kennels and showed us where it happened and now were told a NEW story. He said our dog had climbed a 6 foot chain link fence and got into the other area. This was a small contained area with no room to run and jump for a head start. We have a 4 ft chain link fence around our entire backyard where our dog had run free for 5 years and never once had even got up on one link - let alone up and over the fence (and we have small dogs in 2 neighboring yards). She was a relatively small dog - it is absolutely impossible for her to do what they said she did. There must have been some severe negligence on their part that forced them to come up with this story. I was willing to let it go as just an unfortunate incident (and have for the most part) but when he told me this ridiculous story and then added with asking me to pay for the other dogs vet bill and cremation, well I still haven't got over it months later. Bottom line - Blaine Kennels was directly responsible for the death of 2 great dogs AND callous enough to ask me to pay for their negligence. Needless to say I have not paid it yet. Thomas, how about Blaine Kennels pay us the $300 it cost to kill our dog for something we had nothing to do with and you were responsible for? We never asked for it but I would have gladly paid that and much more to have our dog and the other dog kept safe that weekend. read more

We are a big fan of Blaine Kennels! The staff is great--very friendly and accommodating. This is our 2nd time bringing our dog there now. During the first visit, our daughter emailed Blaine Kennels asking how our dog was doing and if they could send pictures, which they did. After we picked him up, we received an email from a staff member letting us know they forgot to give us his blanket. They said they would hang onto it for the next visit or we could stop by and pick up. Time got ahead of me and by the time I thought of picking it up, I just assumed they got rid of it. Now, boarding our dog almost a year later...they still had the blanket saved for us! I was impressed by that. I also love the fact that the dogs get play time with other dogs. We'll be back when we need to board him again! read more

We brought our dog here many times for day care and boarding. Something happened last weekend when she was there for an overnight stay. Poor dog was never let out of her kennel. We picked her up and she was filthy - covered in potty and her kennel smelled and her blanket was saturated in potty. I called and expressed my concern. I have received excellent, useful, practical advice on training my dog from the trainers at Blaine Kennels. I had tried a variety of training methods and nothing worked very well despite hours upon hours of training month after month after month and having "graduated" from beginners and intermediate level obedience classes elsewhere. For a year I resisted a prong/pinch collar because I thought my dog was to small and didn't have thick fur. I had come to realize that I needed some extra training tools to be able to get my dog to really listen to me and not just when I had a high value treat in my hand. I sought out the advice of the trainers at Blaine Kennels. They met with me and my dog for an evaluation. I also was interested in the electronic collar because when my dog saw a bunny or a squirrel or excitedly dug in the yard she could not hear me in her heightened sense of excitement. When I purchased both a prong collar and e collar, a trainer at Blaine Kennels first worked with my dog with both of these products to ensure my dog had a proper introduction to them. Then I was trained on their proper use with my dog. The staff spent as much time as needed to make sure I was handling my dog properly. Within one week I had a much better behaved dog and our walks are no longer a struggle but enjoyable. She hardly ever needs corrections. Even when she's not wearing the pinch collar (only used on walks) or the e collar she pays attention to me and is much better behaved. I have also seen the training staff make exceptional progress with a young, large strong dog that had been abused by his former people and had no previous training. I have great admiration for their dedication to the dogs and their efforts to help every dog be a successful, good dog. I am very thankful for the time the staff at Blaine Kennels has spent with me and my dog. Petey, is an 18-32 month Great Pyr/Shepard mix, who was acquired from a bad situation by the NorthStar Great Pyrenees Club. He was rescued and placed in Blaine Kennels for evaluation and training. I took him home about a month ago. I cannot speak positively enough of the training Moriah gave him. He has all the basic and so very important skills a good dog-citizen has to have. He has both respect for and love of human interaction. Mind you, Petey is a 73 lb. animal who had no training prior to going to Blaine Kennels. Moriah's skill and techniques likely saved Petey from being euthanized, because an uncontrollable, large, young and spirited dog can do great harm unintentionally. I highly recommend Blaine Kennels for training with a dog and dog owner of any size or breed. It is sad to see an out-of-control dog that pays no attention to its owner. read more

( TRAUMATIZED ) I brought my dog in for grooming told them to skip nail clipping because I use a Dremel at home. They proceeded to tell me that they too use dremels. So I said ok go ahead with the trimming using a Dremel. When I got home with my dog I noticed he was lying on the floor and shaking like he was afraid. I checked his nails and noticed that they were trimmed with clippers and a very horrible job at that. Somewhere cut way too short some didn't look clipped at all. And I could tell my dog was in pain. He didn't even want me to touch his feet. He has never had his nails cut with a clipper. Always a Dremel and always did a great job. Now he doesn't even trust a Dremel tool. They traumatized my dog severely. The girl told me I should have notified them that he was not good with clippers. I told her this is why I said no to the clipping if they didn't use a Dremel go figure. Now I know why the parking lot is always empty. Now I have a 5 month old terrified German Shepherd I guess you could say they broke my dog. read more

I just picked up our dog from Blaine Kennels and we will never go there again. Dirty kennels, unorganized business, incompetent employees. They messed up the pick up time so even though we were in town ready to get our dog, they wouldn't release him to us until the following day (and we had to pay an extra day.) They promised the dogs would get personalized and individual attention but they couldn't locate our dog at first because they called him by the wrong name all weekend and had the wrong info on his kennel card. When we showed up to pay, there was a small sign (no one told us before hand) that they only accept cash or checks. It also mentioned that people have no idea how expensive it is for small businesses to run cards. How many ways are you going to nickel and dime your customers? Seriously, people. Pull it together. When we finally got home with the dog, he couldn't get to his water or food bowl fast enough. He emptied both bowls like he'd been starving all weekend. Ridiculous. Never going back. read more
