I absolutely LOVE The Ruff House! I bring my puppy there for daycare several times a month, and he gets so excited every time he goes. It's such a comfort knowing he's spending the day playing, socializing, and being well cared for instead of staying home alone. One of my favorite things is the report cards they send home. They always include the cutest pictures of my boy, and he looks genuinely happy in every one. You can tell the staff really gets to know each dog's personality. My puppy is naturally very anxious and nervous in new situations, but the team has been incredibly patient, kind, and attentive with him. Rather than treating every dog the same, they tailored his experience to meet *his* needs, and that has made such a difference. The thoughtful notes on his report cards make it clear how much they genuinely care about him. They also offer a wide variety of services at very reasonable prices, and everyone at the front desk-as well as the rest of the staff-is always friendly and welcoming. I trust them completely with my puppy and would highly recommend The Ruff House to anyone looking for a daycare where their dog will be treated with genuine care and compassion. read more

My sister dropped her dog for daycare here. When I came to pick him up I could tell they were not taking proper care of him. He smelled like pee and had way too much energy to have been playing all day. I don't feel as they are as focused as they say they are on the dogs. The receptionist with the red hair was rude as well. read more

I give 2 stars bc if I only give 1... people think it's just a rant and rave. TWICE I have gone to Ruff House & TWICE extremely repentant!! I paid $170 + $15 tip ( you have to pay before you even SEE the results!! ) Because of the FIRST time where I refused to even pick him up.. they THEN did the job that I was willing to pay for.. This time was my LAST TIME!! I refuse to give them another CENT! We take dogs to be groomed WITH HAIRCUTS for $170... hell if I knew it was WITHOUT a haircut, I could have done it. I pay for services I CANNOT DO, not for those that I can!! I saw his teeth which i also wanted & nothing. When my family took him in Ruff HOUSE KNEW WHAT I ORDERED 3 weeks ago.. and scheduled for today AND asked my family what was needed.. RUFF HOUSE HAD THE ORDER?! Why are we asking at all?? DO WHAT'S ON THE ORDER ALREADY!! If I didn't want it I wouldn't have ASKED for it!! I would have brought him myself, but we all work; there was no way around it!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE TO BE BOARDED! I went on a family vacation from Thursday to Sunday and when I got my dog back she had gotten KENNEL COUGH. And it is very bad. She still has it and we might have to go to the vet. I would consider suing if i didnt feel sorry for the people trying their best running it. We took my 7yo dog to daycare at Ruff House most weekdays for about a month. We knew the names and chatted regularly with the folks who worked there and they were very kind and clearly cared about my dog. We were new dog owners and didn't think anything of it when he would come back with a couple of scratches or little wounds. One day, someone I'd never met called and said that my dog had been in a fight and had some minor wounds. The other dog was said to be fine. I came to pick my dog up and he clearly needed a vet. He was sore and limping and had centimeter-long gashes on his face, neck, and side. The vet prescribed pain meds and antibiotics. I tried politely to get more information and was told that, for the 4 yards the dogs were playing in, the one person watching all four yards was in a different yard at the time and, because my dog did not bark, no one came to help him. I asked for them to put a claim into their insurance and pay for my dog's vet bills. They refused multiple times. I'm not going to get a lawyer, but people need to know that this is not a safe place for dogs and the owners and/or managers that I have never seen before do not care about these dogs at all. I know that the folks that work there, the people I saw everyday, DO care about my dog and I thought of this as just a mistake. Based on the facility's answers to my questions and my later run-ins with former employees, it's clear to me that leaving dogs unsupervised is a regular practice. I also know, from now having my two dogs (we got my dog a sibling!) at a different daycare that it is not normal for the pups to ever be unsupervised or to come home injured regularly. The other facility also gave us a full tour at the drop of a hat and we actually saw the yards and the kennels the dogs were in. Plus, I know and see the owner regularly. Very easy to get in contact and they have all kinds of letters after their name indicating their dog training and behavior certifications. With all the love to the people doing the actual work who are not in control of the awful facility standards, do not take your dog here! read more

DO NOT GET YOUR DOG GROOMED HERE! We took our dog here to get groomed and when we took him home, we noticed his ears had very large lacerations on the ends of them. We instantly took him to the vet where the vet informed us that what was on his ears was "blood stop glue" that is used by groomers when they accidentally cut a dog's ear. The cut was deep enough for our dog to need antibiotics and stitches. It's horrible that the the groomer didn't tell us about the cuts and still charged us full price ($120)! After reaching out to the grooming services about the concerns, they denied our claims and ignored our emails. This is a SHADY company and they will hurt your dog without care or accountability. read more

Only reason I am giving this a 1 star review is because of the grooming experience that I suffered with my dog last week! I specifically told, and showed pictures of how my dog was to be groomed! The Groomer Mary i believe was her name acted like she didn't care one bit about it. When I picked my dog up later in the afternoon she was shaved so short that I could see skin on parts of her butt area! Not to mention she shaved 1/4 of her tail also... That really pissed me off! I will NEVER bring my dog back here for grooming ever again! The groomer doesn't care one bit about what you tell her, she will just go off and do her own thing! I will NEVER EVER go back for grooming at this location. Other than that, My dog started the day in day-care and from the videos I received from the place it looked like she was having a good time playing with all the dogs, and enjoying some water time (she loves drinking from a water hose for some reason!)... There is a very good chance that I will take her back for day-care but other than that, unfortunately I will not be returning to this location for Grooming or any other services!!! read more

To be clear, the groomer was amazing and incredibly friendly. She took great care of our dog. I'm leaving this bad review because the customer service for desk workers at their location is HORRIBLE. First of all, there are 2 addresses I guess? One for the front desk and a separate address where they groom. The separate address where they groom has no sign anywhere to indicate it's the same business. When my wife pointed this out to the guy at the desk he got really defensive, saying it couldn't be more clear...more clear than NO sign on a SEPARATE building that is 2 blocks down the street? I've never been to a groomer that didn't groom them in house. And his attitude was terrible. We are pointing out that it's confusing and that maybe they should add a sign or improve their communications in their email so it's more clear in the future and he immediately lashed out. There are plenty of other groomers around for your business, don't bother here. read more

One, the packages expire after a year, which was not previously mentioned and really upsetting as I lost a lot of money because of that. Secondly, I have been to ruff house many times and never had an issue, but recently when I pick my dog up he has been weazing and drinks an absurd amount of water as if he hasn't had any for hours. I can't describe my frustrations with this company fully.. I went based on the good reviews, but I'll never go back. If I could give a negative star review, I absolutely would. I live about 30 mins away, and I had an appt at 4 for both of my pups for a grooming appt. I got them there on time and the front desk said that they would be ready to pick up at about 6.. I got a phone call around 7 that started out like, "just wanted to call and inform you of an incident with your dogs..." IMMEDIATELY my mind goes to the worst of my dogs have been hurt, lost, etc.. Turns out they explain to me they are just running way behind. The guy tells me the dogs will be ready at 10PM and I could wait or I could pick them up and bring them back in the morning if that worked better. Since I live so far away, I didn't want to make the drive more then necessary so I said I'd pick them up at 10PM. Around 9, I get another call telling me the dogs won't be ready till 11PM! So I wait. I end up driving to pick them both up at 11PM, when I get there the lobby was unlocked and lights on so I walk in, no one is there. I ring the bell 5 times, and wait 20 mins with still no answer. So I walk in the back where only authorized employees are allowed. I walk around the entire back part where all the dog kennels are and don't see a single person and don't see either of my dogs. Easily I could've taken any pet, let them out, and something crazy. The fact that the entire place was just unlocked, and so accessible was crazy to me, especially since they are boarding animals. There was ZERO chaperone for the animals in their care.. After I was walking around for 10 mins, I just start yelling "HELLO!!".. probably about 10 times. Still NOTHING, no answer, no person, no help, NOTHING. Crazy even since they told me to pick my dogs up at 11PM. By this point it was like 11:30. All of a sudden a girl comes out, asking who I was and she said "you should've rung the bell".. my respond was that I did about 5 times, and I'd been walking around, yelling for someone to answer. She finally goes to bring my dogs to the front and guess what.. THEY ARENT EVEN GROOMED!!! They had been there since 4PM, and 7 hours later they were not finished. I had to take them back the next morning.. so I drove 30 mins there and back 3 times. 3 hr travel, 7 hours waste of "grooming". The topping of the whole thing is THEY CHARGED ME FULL PRICE. Even then, the grooming was terrible and my white/black labradoodle's hair was so short his pink skin was just showing through his hair. It was painful, and terrible. I can totally understand that people get behind schedule, mistakes are made here and there.. but my dogs were not safe, not cared for, and I was not cared for as a customer, the trust in them for my dogs was not met whatsoever. A long day/night of headache all crammed in a small Yelp review. I will never go back, save yourself the misery. read more

I was very, very happy with the staff, the courtesy extended us and most satisfied that Monaco was well entertained by the other puppies. First and last time I will bring my dog here. I was shocked to see such high reviews. Zero stars! My dog went in today 4/3/20 for a bath, nail clipping and a de-shedding. They said it would be about an hour to hour and a half. 30 min later they said they were done. When I picked him up, he was soaking wet and shedding like crazy! I called the place and asked them to walk me through the service he received, specifically the de shedding process. Which they said while they blow dry them, they brush them. I told them he was soaking wet and still shedding like no one had brushed them, the girl I spoke to proceeded to tell me it was her coworker who groomed him and didn't even bother to apologize. She was awkward on the phone and didn't offer any solutions. Definitely not coming back to this place. For $70 I didn't expect much, but this was a terrible half a** job. read more

NEVER RECOMMEND!! Our dog got extremely sick going here. They do not tell you about the CONSTANT kennel cough, pink eye, pneumonia, etc that circulate this facility, and when you pick your dog up from their stay, and you confront them about your dog acting lethargic and runny nose, etc they act like it's the first they have noticed it. They won't answer phone calls no matter the time of day you call and won't answer messages if you message on their portal. Our dog ended up at the vet for overnight stays for 4 days and was so extremely sick they didn't think he would make it out alive. he's still on antibiotics and 24 hour supervision, and if he gets worse he has to go to the pet hospital. it's been two weeks now since we brought him here and I will never bring him back! read more

My husband and I were nervous at first to pick Ruff House because our dog had never been there, but we tried to book our usual place too late for the holiday. It also was going to be the longest we had been away from our dog. After reading reviews and looking at the website, I was really impressed! So professional and responsive! My dog absolutely loved staying at Ruff House, plus it is more affordable than our usual dog boarding place. They called a few times before to check in and make sure they had all the information they needed to take our dog. They sent us multiple report cards with photos of our dog during her stay. We will for sure be boarding our dog here from now on. Also, a few random pluses about the place, it's super clean, smells amazing, and they bathe your dog if they're staying more than a few days. Just as I said in my last review, it is tucked behind an automotive shop but if you've found it once, it's easy. Floki is always excited when we pull up and can't wait to get inside. We have also started doing grooming here and as someone who knows nothing about grooming, I often feel like I have nothing to offer on now my dog looks. Their groomer has done a great time each time we go! Also, they make it super convenient for vaccines. Floki needed an update on his Bordatella and for just a couple extra bucks they did it during his boarding time so it didn't add any hassle for me. We have taken our dog here of and on for the past three years. We have nothing but positive things to say about Ruff House. The staff clearly loves animals and cares a lot for the dogs that board with them. As a result, I trust that they will take the best care of my dog while she's there. Just recently I received a call from one of the staff saying that they noticed our dog just seemed to be a bit out of sorts. The fact that they would notice and take the time to let me know was very appreciated. Obviously with any free play dog environment, there is bound to be the occasional tussle or minor altercation with other dogs. On the rare occasions over the past three years when this has happened, the staff has been very professional. I was always informed promptly of what had occurred. I appreciate that they have never tried to hide anything from us. Ultimately, the strongest positive review is how happy our dog is every time we drop her off. read more

We had a great experience with Becky (manager) who took great care of our dog this past weekend and was great at listening to what we needed and expected. They have some new staff as well, so that's a huge plus. The location is tricky to find--you have to turn east off State St. on 990 North and it's behind an auto body shop. A few things we loved about boarding our dog here: The dogs are only kenneled at night, so they get plenty of play time and exercise. The yard is padded with AstroTurf so the dogs don't get filthy or burned paws from hot rocks. They let you pick up your dogs on Sunday evenings rather than make you pay another night and pick up Monday (hard to find a place that lets you do this). I love that they also offer day care for dogs for an hourly rate. I have not yet tried their grooming services for our pup but so far I'd recommend them! read more

I have so many great things to say about Ruff House! Their prices and customer service are awesome! Becki (the manager) is so nice and fun to talk to. My dog, Maverick, adores her and the other employees. Becki is very personable. She always remembers him, his personality, and his needs. I can tell they really care about the dogs. During one of Maverick's stays there he was blowing his coat pretty bad. They gave him a bath for free while he was there because they said he looked really itchy and uncomfortable. We have a rescue mini Great Dane. Raja was very timid and we've had to work with her on her fear issues. However, she loves this place! We've boarded her here a few times, and she really enjoyed running around with the other dogs during the day time. We've started taking her in once a week for doggy daycare, and she gets so excited when we arrive. She can hardly wait to start playing. We brought our dog here for an 8 day stay, the girl who took him back initially said that they would send 2 emails out every day about how he was doing, that didn't happen until day 6, so strike one, they informed us in one of the emails that he "bonked his leg" they sent us a picture and said he was fine, when we picked him up we noticed he had drainage coming out of his eyes, this further developed into extreme drainage out his eyes and his nose and an extreme cough, took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with kennel cough, strike two, also when walking him they took him out on the hot asphalt and the pads on the bottom of his feet got burned, strike 3, there is still more, we only received emails from them the last 3 days he was there, they did clip his toe nails and did give him a 2 baths, also, when we attempted to call them about these issues no contact via phone. We have attempted multiple times to get in touch with them and no response. 1 star is all they are worth, never taking our dog to them ever again. Steer clear. read more

They are so great! This was the first time we had ever had our dog groomed (he was 8 months old at the time) and they were so sweet to talk us through everything! When he came out the cut was a little different than we expected (but it was our first time so I just took him home!) then when my husband saw him he was mad at me for not saying something! So when Ruff house followed up via Facebook (how amazing are they to follow up??) I let them know my husbands concern and they let us bring him in the next morning to trim more of his face and tail! I was driving to the grocery store this morning, and saw a lady walking south with a small, medium/long haired, white dog. Every time it got a few feet in front of her, or behind her, she jerked the leash so hard that the little dog left the ground. It was screaming in pain. I turned my truck around to chew her out, but by the time I got back around, she was walking north and took the dog into the Ruff House. It was somebody else's dog that was being boarded while they were out of town. I called Orem police and was put on hold for so long that I hung up the phone and wrote a negative google review and have spent the past several hours trying to not go back there and wind up getting the police called on me. So angry! If you had a dog there on the morning of the 2nd of April 2023, I hope it wasn't your dog that was being treated so poorly. I know my dog will never see the inside of that place. If you work there, be advised that I'll record what I see and give it to the police if I ever see anything like that again. read more

We have boarded our lab here 3-4 times now and have been so pleased! The staff is helpful and friendly, the new facility is clean and our pup is always happy and well taken care of.
