Left this same review on Google, but thought I should share it here too for the Yelp users. We had our pet bunny spayed here and were send home with some pain medication and a cone for her to wear that would prevent picking at the incision. We were told that if she was not eating normally by the morning, to bring her back in. That was the case so we returned the next morning. They gave us some critical care to force feed her and directed us to feed her 7 ml a day. Come the next morning her conditions were worsening. It was Sunday, so A Caring Vet was closed. We were forced to find an emergency vet elsewhere. After the emergency vet evaluated our bunny's current condition, we were informed that A Caring Vet had not prescribed her strong enough pain medication to ease our bunny's pain and our bunny needed to be feed closers to 80 ml of critical care a day to receive all the nutrients she needs. We were also informed that a cone should almost never be used on a bunny as it will cause stress levels to rise doing more harm than good. We were told that a bunny with the correct pain medication dosage will usually not pick at the incision. If you have a bunny, I strongly recommend you take him/her elsewhere, While A Caring Vet will attend to bunnies, they do not seem knowledgeable in the proper post operative care that a bunny requires. read more

Dr Hanson is the most knowledgeable, loving, patient and best veterinarian in Utah County. He was the third vet that I found, and kept since I found Dr. Hanson. I have referred him to many of my friends. However, to be perfectly honest, his prices are a bit high. I'm sure he has raised his prices because the cost of inflation although at times I could not bring either my cat or my dog to visit him because of the price of his office visit. I often thought it would be beneficial, if he allowed his old patients to be grandfathered in and allow them to pay what his office visit was five years ago. Nevertheless, he is the absolute best vet and all of Utah county. Sincerely Angi read more

They always wanna have my dog take medication before seeing them. He's just afraid they are going up in price and they always want you to see a vet. The vet wouldn't even see my dog because she was afraid he was gonna bite her a vet should know how to take care of aggressive dogs. read more

They were so great! I was helped by Katelyn and Dr Hansen, they answered all my questions, did so well with my puppy and her first shots and seemed so well experienced and cared so much for my dog! This will definitely be my go-to clinic!! read more

I think Dr Hansen is a very caring vet! He knows what he is doing my dogs loved him! I think he is a very sought after vet which makes him a very busy veterinary. His office, A Caring Vet knows I like Dr Hansen so they always scheduled me on his days of work there. He does have another office in Orem. The other veterinarians are nice and I assume very good I have just always trusted Dr Hansen. His staff at A Caring Vet could not be nicer! They work with you for scheduling appointments to refilling prescriptions to make it as convenient as possible for you. What's also very smart of A Caring Vet is they are open on Saturdays! If you asked them they would not say it's "smart" but they would sincerely say they are open on Saturdays to help their patients and clients! Recently my beautiful English Springer Spaniel passed away at age 12. A Caring Vet sent me the most beautiful bouquet of flowers and a card that everyone signed. It was so unexpected and touching. I greatly appreciate and am so thankful to this office in their kindnesses thought-out the years and for their continued Caring! read more

DO NOT go to this facility for any invasive procedures your pet might need. I need to preface that when I was there, the staff was nice and hospitable to me and my doggo (they just charge outlandish prices for surgeries). I went in for a check up as I just adopted my Dane. She was roughly 9 months old at the time when I took her in. I told them I was looking to get her fixed and get a Gastropexy surgery done for her at the same time. They seemed more than willing to perform the surgeries. Not only was it extremely difficult to get a quote sent to me for the cost of the procedures, but when I finally got the quote, they forgot to add the Gastropexy. Even without the Gastropexy, they were going to charge almost $2,000.00! For a spay!! To get my dog fixed at a spay and neuter clinic, it cost me less than $200.00. Needless to say I did not get my dog fixed with this vet. I believe the biggest reason why it took so long to get the quote from them was because they didn't typically perform Gastropexy surgeries (and maybe they weren't fully comfortable with performing the surgery?). If that was the case, then they should have been straightforward with me about that instead of making me wait weeks for my quote. And really, don't go with the first vet that gets you a price. Shop around, get a second opinion! It's absurd that 'A Caring Vet' wanted to charge so much for a SPAY. My dog wasn't even 100 pounds at the time. The price was disgusting. read more

We took our dog today to have an infected paw looked at. They were going to "clip the hair" and "clean the paw" but they didn't because the dog was "too anxious." So no attention given there. Paw was bleeding and oozing when we left the office. They charged me $200+ dollars and I left with a bleeding dog and 2 prescriptions. We will not be back. 0/10 would. not. recommend. Waited over a week to get this nothing appointment, paid a fortune for ZERO care. Recommend anywhere else. read more

I'm on the fence about this place because of a few different reasons. My pet got a foxtail stuck in her ear for the second time within a week period. The first time it happened we did an emergency visit to Blue Pearl up North where we had the most awful experience. This appointment with A Caring Vet was scheduled for a next day appointment to where it wasn't considered emergent, it was just like any other appointment. Before I go on let me add that the facilities were well decorated so they didn't feel like some sort of insane asylum or prison like we had felt at Blue Pearl. Although, they did feel very unsanitary. Like the floors hadn't been mopped in quite some time and could use a good deep clean. And the staff was super nice! The appointment came out to $267 after sedation and the removal of the foxtail. Since it wasn't an emergency visit I figured it wouldn't be outrageously expensive compared to our first visit to Blue Pearl, but there was only about a $50 difference. They also said "We get pets in here all the time with the same problem." And I'm wondering to myself, why in the heck the appointment was this appointment so expensive if you they get these kinds of visits so frequently? Lastly, I wasn't a big fan of how they did the sedation on my pet. They kept here there in a kennel until it was her turn for her surgery it was 11am and they said she should be done anywhere in between 2pm-6pm. I asked if it were possible for me to take her and then if they gave me a 10 minutes heads up I could get her back to the facility for her surgery. They said "With the way surgeries are set up she could possibly not be seen today if the surgical team needs to wait for her to get here." I was not a huge fan of being parted with my pet for hours while she was sitting in a kennel when she could have been comfortable at home. If they could implement some other kind of system that would definitely change my 3/5 stars. Pet owners are already paying the facility enough the least they could do is schedule surgeries rather than keep them away from home all day. read more

I have been to A Caring Vet more times than I can count (having 3 cats and a dog) and I have always found them to be eager to help and very thorough. They've answered my many questions, listened to me gushing about my animals and how cute they are, and they always show genuine concern. My dog had surgery to have some lumps removed and they took such good care of her and gave me the tip to use an old tshirt to keep her from licking her stitches, not a cone. Saved my life! Her scar is almost invisible now. My cats don't like the visit so much but they are always very careful and you can tell they are cat people because they are so good to them. I would trust them with my animals and after reading the other reviews am kind of perplexed about how someone could have a bad experience there. 4 stars because sometimes the wait can be long, but I wouldn't trade them! read more

Was grateful they were able to get my sick pup in on a Saturday for a first time visit. Were there 3 hours for a visit that definitely didn't need to take that long. Just very slow processes on simple things. Had to call back 4 days later to get another med. they took ALL day to call back. I could've gotten my dog those meds that day. But she had to wait til next day. In PAIN. Now 9 days later we try and get her back in because she's still having issues and they say, we're not taking new patients. Ok... but you did? Sooo umm what? We are new to the area but we won't be new to this vet. Unrelated to the service... Snapped some pics of expired licenses while in there too. read more

I've tried calling them a few times and texting them, no one ever answers. The vet we usually go to was booked months out and I needed to find an alternative. I had gone here one other time, it was ok but over priced. However, I needed to take my dog in for an ear infection so I was willing to try them again. The lack of response to phone calls and texts has lead me to not even waste my time trying to book an appointment here. read more

Absolutely love this vet clinic! Discovered A Caring Vet a few years back when our family dog needed attention and have been coming back ever since. Recently had to put our dog to sleep. The staff were compassionate and sympathetic. They made a difficult situation comforting, even sent a follow up sympathy card. Today's trip was for a follow up visit for daughter's pet guinea pig. Service was prompt and care given, excellent once again. Highly recommend A Caring Vet. They live up to their name! read more

Whenever Caring Vet worked with our Brody, they used the utmost care. I have never seen a vet that preferred to sit on the floor with our Brody to do their checks. When the time unfortunately came for Brody to be put to sleep, they were unbelievable in the way they kept us informed of each step, how Brody would feel, and demonstrated so much reverence around the whole procedure. Loosing a loved pet that is so much of the family is indescribably difficult. But A Caring Vet met and exceeded all of our expectations. read more

Dr. B and the entire staff are friendly & very helpful... always a good experience during a stressful time.

This was my first visit to A Caring Vet and I will definitely come back in the future! I needed to bring my Syrian hamster in after he experienced and allergic reaction to some Timothy hay and scratched himself bald. The clinic is location off of a semi-busy road, but the parking lot is quiet and calm. When I came into my 11:30 AM appointment, they got my in right away and had me wait in a private room for the vet. It looked very nice and was mostly clean except some fur on the seats, but let's be real dog/cat fur never really gets out of anything so I don't blame them! First the veterinary assistant came in to get his weight and receive information on what was going on with him and why I brought him in. After waiting about 5-10 more minutes the vet, Karen Peacock, came in. She checked his bald patch for scabs and sores, used a black light to see if he had ringworms, examined his stomach for any hair loss, and listened to his heart and lungs. She offered a topical mite medication just in case he has mites under his skin (because hamster skin is so fragile, if they took a skin scrape sample it would damage his skin so there wasn't a way to check if he has mites) but also said he could have just experienced a sensitivity to the Timothy hay! The exam fee was $45 and the mite medication was $20 which even though I'm pretty sure he just had a sensitivity to the hay, I was willing to get just in case! They gave me an option to purchase or not purchase the mite medication and were very reasonable with their prices. Everyone that I met in the clinic was absolutely wonderful and adored my little Hamlet! I would definitely recommend this vet clinic and I was in and out in half an hour. read more

I took my French bulldog because he was having discharge from his nose and it looked like it was getting infected . They didn't had appointments available but told me that I could go drop him off and they will see him when the doctor has a chance. They weren't here for my appointment. (Also while standing here frantically trying to find another vet, 2 other people showed up who also had scheduled appointments.) I called in and spoke to someone personally and got an appointment scheduled for the next afternoon since it was the only time I could bring in my friends cat who had been sick for a while. I confirmed the appointment. I showed up at my appointed time and no one was there. The building was locked and closed. I didn't even get a phone call from someone telling me they were closing for whatever reason. It would have at least been nice to know so I could have tried to schedule with another vet or find another solution rather than dragging a sick, screaming cat around who peed herself because she's sick and upset. read more

Great care for us and our pets. Wonderful vets and staff.

We took our cat here after it got really sick for several weeks. They took a few looks at him and said he just had an infection, and gave us some antibiotic pills to shove down his throat (this is impossible to do to cats by the way) and he'd be fine. Well, he was so sick we couldn't get him to take any, and the vet was NOT very personable about it all, so we went elsewhere. The second vet checked our cat all over thoroughly and found out his glands were all swollen (first vet didn't do this.) Turns out he had Feline Aids, which is fatal and contagious to our other cat, and he had to be put down. Not only were they totally wrong, and not very nice to us when we were in there with our cat paying $200 to get it treated for the wrong disease, they blew off my followup calls and they send me texts on my cat's birthday wishing him a happy birthday and telling us it's time to bring him in again... even though he's been put down. I recommend going elsewhere. Avoid if you can. read more

I have never been to a more caring vet! I know it sounds cheesy, but "Caring" really is the best word to describe this place. A neighbor had told me about this place a while ago. Every person in the office is so friendly and professional, they really listened to my concerns. The office itself is very beautiful and clean, it seems more like an upscale dental office than a veterinary clinic. The location is easy to find, right off of State St. I can't say enough about Dr. Hansen, he is so nice and honest. I was very impressed by how involved he was with our appointment. I have never had a vet stay through the entire appointment like he did. He made sure my dog was comfortable before doing anything and gave her cookies to keep her mind off of the shots. It is so comforting to have my pet taken care of by someone who truly loves animals. He is amazing! THE DETAILS: My dog had not been to a vet in about a year, so we needed to get pretty much everything done. I called to make an appointment and the woman who answered was super friendly and helpful. She offered me an appointment within a few days, but I scheduled a few weeks out. I had asked if she could give me a ball park range of what I should expect to pay, she said the exam would be about $40 and they would go over every charge with me before anything was done. The appointment was at 9:00am, I arrived at 8:50am. The receptionist/assistant greeted us and we filled out New Patient forms. I had mentioned that I wanted to keep the appointment under $200, she reassured me that they would go over charges before doing anything. After the paperwork, we were immediately taken to a room, I overheard the receptionist explain to the doctor what my concerns were. Dr. Hansen walked in and introduced himself and spent a lot of time introducing himself to my dog. He did his exam, went over pricing, addressed my concerns, and gave my dog everything she needed within my price range. There was hardly any wait time and no one tried to sell or offer me something unnecessary. I highly recommend this place! read more

Dr. Hansen really is A Caring Vet. He's taken care of my three dogs. The most recent time was an emergency. My chihuahua started coughing and having a hard time breathing, it was really scary. We rushed him to the vet and he was given oxygen and meds to calm him down, we found out he has a collapsed trachea. It's common in small dogs. I was really concerned and Dr. Hansen showed me the x ray of the collapsed trachea and explained exactly what was wrong and what my dog needed and that he could still live a good life. My dog is a happy, healthy boy. Great staff too! read more

A Caring Vet - This is Weezy at the vet for his check up after the emergency visit. He's doing great! - Veterinarians Near Me - Lindon, Utah

Dr Hansen really is a caring vet. My husband brought our dog here years ago when another vet in town wanted to charge him over $400 to take a fox tail out of the dogs ear. Dr. Hansen approach and prices were a lot more reasonable. We ended up returning anytime we needed veterinary care up until when the dog passed away. He was always very honest and straightforward with what could be done and reasonable options for lowering prices or numbers of procedures. He was honest about outcome and did everything possible to keep the dogs calm instead of insisting on having her in the table where she would be frightened. The staff treats the animals and their owners very well. I feel very comfortable coming here and will return whenever we have any more veterinary needs. read more

This place is a complete joke. I had my dog get a cyst removed and I've had nothing but problems since. They didn't do the surgery right after paying $3000, they removed his drains too early so now it's building up inside again, they won't drain it, and now they're telling me I have to pay for another surgery for them to fix the problem they created. I've had to come in 5 times in the past week because it's not extending his stitches which might cause it to pop and they won't do anything for him. They're money hungry terrible vets. I would never recommend anyone to go here. They won't ever answer the phones and won't call you back after they say they will. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

All I can say is..DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE if you love your pet! I've taken my dog a couple of times because it was after hours.. $75 to walk in the door or they don't let you in.. very impersonable and honestly not very knowledgable.! But, this post is about my son and his dog. His dog became sick over night..fine one day then couldn't walk the next. Just laid there so my son took him in at 4:00AM.. Terrified of losing his dog that has has saved his life for the past 10 yrs. His best friend and companion.. Needless to say, they opened the door wide enough to say if we let you in it will be $150 can you pay that to get in?.. What kind of BS is that?.Are you FN serious?.. Then they took his vitals and temperature.. turned to my son and said, "with how he's laying there not being able to stand, we can Euthanize him or you can take him home, he is dying! I am new to Utah and have a rescue dog; who, due to abuse from his former owner . has serious anxiety fueled aggression issues in new situations. To say that I was nervous about establishing with a new vet is putting it mildly. Thank goodness for Dr. Hansen! Prior to my first appointment he collected and READ all of my dog's records. He then spent the time with me to truly discuss and understand what makes my dog tick. Unfortunately the adjustment to life in Utah has been difficult and as a result my dog has displayed some pretty scary behavior. Dr. Hansen and his staff have been compassionate, sympathetic and absolutely committed to helping me get him back on track and the treatment plan we worked out is working! If you want a good knowledgeable vet, I know there are lots in the area. Fantastic Veterinarian and staff at this clinic. Pleas keep reading for full details on my visit from today. Heres my story : Our kitty cat (little Prince) has not been doing good with his health lately . We've been going to this vet clinic, trying different methods to see if it would clear up his symptoms of feline UTI, including an antibiotic shot (so he gets all his medication in) and trying out special cat food. Last night, our little Prince got sick, and so we took him to the vet today, only to find out he has a blockage/plug in his bladder and he will be needing to have surgery as soon as possible. We are financially struggling at the moment, and so we let the veterinarian (Dr. Eric Hansen) know of our situation. Dr. Eric Hansen and his staff were very kind and understanding of what we are going through. We were given an option to surrender our kitty and in return he will get the treatment/surgery he is needing, and then later on he will be able to get adopted out to another loving home and family. We are very grateful on how Dr. Eric Hansen and his caring staff have been so kind and understanding on the whole situation. We are going to miss our little Prince soooooooo much but we are just thankful he is able to get a 2nd chance at life and it is all completely thanks to this great Veterinarian and staff !!! read more

I have such mixed feelings about this vet. The staff was very nice but we have had a lot of issues. We took our very sick dog in & they ran tests to figure out what was wrong, came to the 100% conclusion that she had a blockage in her intestine & said exploratory surgery was necessary. We of course did the surgery because we were told by the vet that it was for sure the case and would fix the issue. Well after a foot long incision was made, no blockage was found & they decided it was an infection- this was $1400 later and a great deal of pain and suffering to my sweet pup. I got a second opinion later & was told an ultrasound would have showed this rather than cutting her open (also a biopsy wasn't taken while they were inside of her). Well 5 weeks later she became even more sick (vomiting blood as well as bloody diarrhea) & I took her to another vet because I wasn't going to put her through hell again. Long story short, my dog left this vet with a huge and painful incision (which didn't fix the issue clearly because it came back with a vengeance) as well as LICE, which she passed to our other dog and we are having to spend hundreds to treat this now. read more

This is hands down the best vet clinic I have ever experienced. Dr. Hansen and the rest of the staff give my pet and I fantastic care. They are gentle and loving with my nervous dog, which in turn puts me at ease when I have to leave her in their care. The facility is extremely clean and pleasant smelling. They give loads of information on care and treatment options. I especially love that they want my pup to have a good experience so that she will not fear going back. I would give them 5 stars but they are also one of the most expensive vets I have found. But you do get what you pay for. They are pricey but well worth it. Showed up to an empty office with no one else in it other than the receptionist. Just needed insulin for my dog. She asked what I was there for, I told her and asked a couple different questions. No response on the questions or anything to do with the insulin. After helping 5 other people who came in or were leaving she again asked what I was there for. After slowly remembering she went and came back saying that I would have to wait for a tech. Between then and being helped 8 other people had been helped. I typically don't give a shit when this type of thing occurs. However, dealing with a caring vet this is always the scene. Fucking nonsense under staffed, unorganized and zero customer service. I'm never coming back, too many times has this place been a complete shit show. I'd rather travel an extra hour to SLC than keep beating my head into a fucking concrete wall. Truly becoming worst Veterinary Hospital I have ever taken my pets to. After spending hundreds of dollars in blood work and vet appointments one of our pets die slowly while getting no real explanation whatsoever and little to no help. We now took another one in to get vaccinated. Something happened during the vaccination and bled abnormally. The next day we realized he has been maimed and lost all use of his back foot. I called and the person I spoke to acted like they could not care less. I was not allowed to speak to the Vet because "they are not responsible" (extract words from the lady that answered the phone)??? How can this be? On a Vet Hospital if the Veterinarian is not responsible, who is??? They said I had to talk to the office manager, but she was not available. All this while our poor pet is dragging a foot around without getting any help because this is a practice where the Veterinarians are 'NOT RESPONSIBLE'. Things can always go wrong and Veterinarians do not have a crystal ball, all that is understandable; but the complete disregard and the 'could not care less' attitude, that is appalling. read more

Please don't go to A Caring Vet in Lindon, Utah! Learn from our experience. As a responsible pet owner I am putting out our story as a warning to others. Under Dr. Hansen's care our dog Otis: -Had a Mast Cell Cancer tumor misdiagnosed as "scar tissue" even with a needle aspiration test. Mast cell tumor cells are VERY easy to diagnose under a microscope. -Had a wound sutured THE WRONG WAY twice. Our dog suffered for two weeks dealing with a wound that continued to open up. We watched him carefully and continue to call the vet office and make appointments to treat the wound, but Dr. Hansen continue suture the wound wrong and reported that there was nothing else that could be done, like stapling the wound together. Dr. Hansen also implied that we were doing something wrong when Otis's care. Our new competent vet re-sutured the wound and put in metal staples. He confirmed that the wound was sutured wrong in the first place AND WOULD HAVE CONTINUED TO OPEN UP! There's more things you can expect from A Caring Vet: -Frequent mistakes with appointment times. We finally left A Caring Vet after one too many "double booked" appointments where Dr. Hansen did not have time to meet with us due to scheduling mistake. The last time Otis was sick with an infection related to his open suture wound that was Dr. Hansen's fault. Dr. Hansen was in a bad mood, so he pushed Otis around roughly to get to his suture site as Otis is afraid of vets. Otis was sick and scared and he didn't deserve rough treatment! -Frequent medication mistakes that I caught because I am a nurse. The mistakes continued even after I pointed them out. -Several procedure appointments where we left Otis there ALL DAY to have a teeth cleaning or an x-ray and Dr. Hansen's staff didn't have time to complete the procedure. That's just bad management. -When you arrive for your "double-booked appointment, office staff claim that they tried to contact you beforehand when there is no evidence on your phone that they did since we have caller ID. Otis suffered under the care of Dr. Hansen and we were constantly inconvenienced and lied to at A Caring Vet. There are so many more things that occurred but I have a word limit ! I hope Otis forgives us for the unnecessary pain and suffering he went through under Dr. Hansen's care. My husband and I just want to get the word out. We don't want anyone else (person or animal) to go through what we did. read more
