This office is friendly, competent, and less expensive than many other veterinarians in the area.

I've never seen such compassion in a veterinarian. She is such a lovely person and a wonderful vet! Thank you Dr. Carolyn!

They worked hard to squeeze me in which I appreciated. The six was kind and careful of my pet and gave me good advice for feed.

A Caring Vet - Gorgeous bouquet from A Caring Vet's Office after they found out that my dog, Leo had passed away.

I'm on the fence about this place because of a few different reasons…read more My pet got a foxtail stuck in her ear for the second time within a week period. The first time it happened we did an emergency visit to Blue Pearl up North where we had the most awful experience. This appointment with A Caring Vet was scheduled for a next day appointment to where it wasn't considered emergent, it was just like any other appointment. Before I go on let me add that the facilities were well decorated so they didn't feel like some sort of insane asylum or prison like we had felt at Blue Pearl. Although, they did feel very unsanitary. Like the floors hadn't been mopped in quite some time and could use a good deep clean. And the staff was super nice! The appointment came out to $267 after sedation and the removal of the foxtail. Since it wasn't an emergency visit I figured it wouldn't be outrageously expensive compared to our first visit to Blue Pearl, but there was only about a $50 difference. They also said "We get pets in here all the time with the same problem." And I'm wondering to myself, why in the heck the appointment was this appointment so expensive if you they get these kinds of visits so frequently? Lastly, I wasn't a big fan of how they did the sedation on my pet. They kept here there in a kennel until it was her turn for her surgery it was 11am and they said she should be done anywhere in between 2pm-6pm. I asked if it were possible for me to take her and then if they gave me a 10 minutes heads up I could get her back to the facility for her surgery. They said "With the way surgeries are set up she could possibly not be seen today if the surgical team needs to wait for her to get here." I was not a huge fan of being parted with my pet for hours while she was sitting in a kennel when she could have been comfortable at home. If they could implement some other kind of system that would definitely change my 3/5 stars. Pet owners are already paying the facility enough the least they could do is schedule surgeries rather than keep them away from home all day.

Left this same review on Google, but thought I should share it here too for the Yelp users…read more We had our pet bunny spayed here and were send home with some pain medication and a cone for her to wear that would prevent picking at the incision. We were told that if she was not eating normally by the morning, to bring her back in. That was the case so we returned the next morning. They gave us some critical care to force feed her and directed us to feed her 7 ml a day. Come the next morning her conditions were worsening. It was Sunday, so A Caring Vet was closed. We were forced to find an emergency vet elsewhere. After the emergency vet evaluated our bunny's current condition, we were informed that A Caring Vet had not prescribed her strong enough pain medication to ease our bunny's pain and our bunny needed to be feed closers to 80 ml of critical care a day to receive all the nutrients she needs. We were also informed that a cone should almost never be used on a bunny as it will cause stress levels to rise doing more harm than good. We were told that a bunny with the correct pain medication dosage will usually not pick at the incision. If you have a bunny, I strongly recommend you take him/her elsewhere, While A Caring Vet will attend to bunnies, they do not seem knowledgeable in the proper post operative care that a bunny requires.

Edited again to say the vet that showed up, was meh, but not only that he put our information on…read morethe dog he put down the same day so we also got this, leading to us worrying about actually getting what we ordered for our pet, or if we would actually receive him at all. Yikes. The crematorium blamed Dr. Lane for this. What a bad mix up! They assured us we would receive what we ordered. We received stuff from them 1.5 months ago and they were beautiful, so I am hopeful. Edited to say in response, exactly, you charge a very premium price and do not deliver on that, it's not handled seamlessly as it once was and it costs much more, there's no invoice, and you have to call the crematorium separately and pay them? Just call a mobile vet. Check on Reddit for similar reviews, etc. Last time we called lap of love through a family recommendation it was perfect. This time, not so much. We called to see what their schedule was like etc. when we scheduled it was $860! Last time, for way better care, concern, and service it was $485. Okay okay, we did ask for paw prints etc. we did just let a pet go down the street, we didn't want to put the cat in the car, cats hate cars. So it was a weird surprise when we were told we had to contact the cremators for that and it was an additional $150. So over $ 1000 to put a cat to sleep. We really should have just drove him down the street. Last time everything was taken care of and it didn't cost anything close, including the ceramic paw prints. This is not a premium service and is charging very premium prices. But down the street, after hours at midnight on a Sunday, that was $730, +$80 for ER services, and ceramic paw prints, and they gave us nose and paw prints, and fur clippings. Group cremation for both and they both used the same crematory for ceramic prints, etc. I have recommended for years and I will no longer do so. So misleading. Find a mobile vet directly.

Incredibly grateful for Dr. Layne 's compassionate assistance with our best ever cat friend…read morereaching the end of 20 years together. He was understanding and patient with us going through the grieving process with the end of our beloved pet's life in sight. He showed kindness and respect toward our little cat and toward us, her friends and guardians. He explained the choices very clearly and without pressuring us. I recommend him highly to anyone facing those difficult transitions.
