Lulu Before her haircut
Alex S.

I first wanted to thank my sister-in-law for recommending me to bring my baby here. My dog Lulu is a rescue and came from an abusive home. Although she was super nervous and scared, the Business owner and his staff were professional and super sweet to her. They wasted no time to show her lots of love. You can really tell when someone really loves their job and truly cares about your furry companion. I'm so grateful I have found a place that exceeded my expectations. My baby came out looking like a completely different dog . I definitely recommend them. Thank you again for your hard work and dedication it was a wonderful experience.

Little nicks from grooming

This was my first time visiting GGD and they provided very quick service! They seemed to have a lot of staff, customers, and a clean, large space. However, I was disappointed to see these little nicks on my dog when I picked her up. I'm sure things like this are very common in grooming but I don't feel comfortable paying $67 (including a 15% tip) if my dog is going to be returned to me with little cuts, especially considering my former groomer of 2 years charged less and never caused my dog any harm.

I took Rosie here for her first haircut! Goo Goo Dogs seems like they did a great job. She came back smelling better than before, softer, and could actually see out of her eyes again lol... She even got a cute little bandana to wear home. My only complaint is that I was charged $70. I have a 6 pound yorkie puppy. I'm not sure if this is normal for this area or not, but it seemed pricey to me considering all I brought her in for was a haircut. Overall, the haircut is pretty good, the people were nice, and she was happy afterwards; I'd just ask about pricing prior.

I have taken my dog here twice now. Both times I have been very satisfied! The owner is very kind and happy to answer any questions I had. My dog came out looking soooo cute!

We love Goo Goo Dogs! We have been taking our dog there for about a year, and they do such a good job! We have a Pomeranian mix who sheds pretty bad. They always cut his hair short enough that we don't notice the shedding so bad and he is still so cute! He is always a happy dog when he comes home so I know he enjoys his time there. The staff always remembers him and are so sweet to him. I would definitely recommend Goo Goo Dogs!

I just got a puppy and I was really nervous to take him anywhere but goo goo Dogs did an amazing job!!! He is as fluffy as ever and smells amazing! I'll be back for sure!!

Without question the best groomer I've been to ever. Their facilities are clean and feel like a home. The kindness and attention was sincere and so impressive. I will be going here with my little baby from now on.

I honestly never leave a bad review, but I thought this might stop someone else from having a terrible experience. The first time I took my dog here to be groomed it was the week I was induced for a high risk pregnancy. The cut was terrible and they did not follow instructions as to the length we wanted, he looked like he would look after growing out for a month after any other cut. I never wanted to go back, but we were moving and I was desperate. I should have realized after they were literally the only dog groomer in Utah county without a month long wait, that going their would be a huge waste of money. I took my dog in and very clearly explained the cut I wanted. I got a call about two hours later saying that my dog was being aggressive ( this has never happened anywhere else). They then said that they would charge me for a bath, and a $65 aggression fee, and they could continue but if my dog was aggressive they would have to charge me for the fill cut. I told them to stop and I would come pick him up. By the time I drive 5 minutes to pick my dog up they said they had finished the cut (against my instructions). They informed my that they would charge me for the full cut (and more than they quoted), and the aggression fee (again he has never had a problem), as well as another $40+ fee because they decided to use a second groomer to hurry and "finish" the cut before I got there, which was against my instructions anyway. The groom was horrendous. Hardly cut at all around the boy but cut close on his face. He is a schnauzer and they completely ruined his cut. I complained they didn't listen. I was nervous that they still were holding on to my dog. They pretty much demanded a large tip and I left lying almost two hundred dollars for the worst cut I have ever seen, because I just wanted my dog out of their hands. Now remember this is the second terrible experience I have had there. If I can I will post a picture of the cut they gave. Please please please never take your animal here.

I will never bring my dog here again. I have a labradoodle with thick, curly hair. We always keep his tail long & face a bit little longer than the body. When I dropped him off this morning I gave the groomer specific instructions & repeatedly told him about the tail and face. He mentioned that he would have to cut it a bit shorter on the body because of some tangles which I was fine with. When I picked him up his WHOLE body was shaved extremely short. Much shorter than what he had told me. Not to mention his tail and face were completely shaved and left a ridiculous looking pompom at the end of the tail. Usually this grooming takes 6 hours to do but he was done within 3. The groomer did not take any time to just brush and trim the face or tail. When I told him I was upset about the situation he said "well his face and tail was not in good condition". First off, doing exactly what I said and just trimming the tail and face would have put it back into "good condition. Wow, magic!! Second, why would you not call me before completely going against my instructions and shave his whole body. When I told him I was not happy paying $100 for this he said that it "took a long time and he can't do that. But I can offer a free bath"... LOL. Horrible customer service and freaking lazy. I would have been better off taking him to my 80 year old grandpa with one eye.

My Ziggy looking so handsome after his haircut.

I have been taking my schnoodles here for a while and I love it everytime. They come out looking exactly how I had told them to leave them.

This place is awesome! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great prices, and a place I have no worries leaving my dog for a few hours. They are quick to get your dog on the schedule, but will take their time when it comes to grooming your dog. I couldn't recommend a better place for your pup! I've attached a before and after just to show how good they are.

I'm sad to be leaving a one star review. We have brought our dog here since she was a puppy and they usually do great but I'm super disappointed in how my dog was treated this past visit and we will not be bringing our dog here again. After bringing her home from having her hair cut my dog was licking excessively on her paws and anus. We then realized the person who cut our dog gave her razor burn in multiple spots on her body including her neck, her anus, base of her tail, in between the pads of her feet and near her genitals. They shaved in between her pads instead of just trimming the hair with scissors. It is rubbed raw in between her little paws. They cut her on both of her ears and made her bleed but failed to mention any of this! My dog is family and should have never been treated this way. They asked what they could do to make it right and it's not about the money for me. I want my dog to be treated how I would treat her. For $90, I should be able to trust that my dog is well taken care of. When we called the owner to let him know of our experience he said he would talk to the person who cut her and see what happened. He also asked us to bring our dog back in or send him pictures of the wounds so he could see them acting like we needed to prove that his employee did a bad job. He later called us to tell us that our dog was in heat and that is why her genitals were irritated which is not the case. She was in heat two months ago and the wounds on her genitals are very visible. I really don't think it's very professional for a business owner to call his customers making excuses of why his employee treated my dog so poorly.

When dropping my cat off I asked her to shave his legs down as much as possible. They didn't even touch his legs. They also shaved his Maine super uneven and tried to cover it up with a large bandana. I also told them to be careful not to shave off his nipples, two were clipped. Honestly , they're lucky my fiancé picked him up because I wouldn't have paid more than $25 for this cut. Will not be returning or recommending.

I came in with my Australian Shepherd and just wanted a wash and her nails trimmed since they were scratching everyone and everything and she smelled like rotten fish. I just didn't want to wash her myself. I was asked if I wanted a cut and I told her maybe just a little trim around the butt because it was getting long and going potty was starting to be a mess. She asked if I wanted anything on the face and I said maybe a tiny bit but I liked how fluffy she was (one of the main reasons I chose an Aussie) and didn't want that to change. I was shocked when I picked her up because she was shaved very short, and horribly too. I think it's great the woman who serviced my dog is trying her best at English but even with a small language barrier, "trim" should not have been misinterpreted to "shave" for a groomer that claims to have been doing this for a long time. Trim and shave are two completely different things. I didn't say anything when I picked her up because I was in shock and was fighting back tears because my once incredibly fluffy dog was shaved and looked like a rat. I didn't have it in me to fight about what I had wanted and what I got. I paid (it was done and couldn't be reversed) and went home and cried for hours. Australian Shepherds have a double coat. If you google double coats, almost every result will highly advise that you DO NOT shave this type of fur unless it is matted beyond repair because overly matter fur causes more harm than shaving it does. She is a 5 month puppy and I brush her at least once a week, so she was not matted at all. Here are the many reasons NOT to shave double coats It changes the coat texture- my dog used to be super soft and not even a full week later her hair turned course and stiff, making it much less enjoyable to pet and cuddle with her. It will mess with their natural cooling and heating process It can irritate the skin- she has been scratching herself constantly since I picked her up. It is more likely that the hair will matt in the future It is not guaranteed that it will grow back, and if it does it will not grow back the same or evenly -since she is a puppy it is more likely it will grow back, but there is no guarantee. It could grow in patchy which makes it more likely I will have to continually shave her, or it might not grow back at all. It doesn't reduce shedding, it just changes the length of hair that is shed. Can cause hair loss and skin conditions- I don't know if it was the products used or if it is the fact that she got shaved but she has dandruff now. There also were two bald patches and they have increased in size since I brought her home. Increases the risk of sickness and skin cancer. Most groomers refuse to shave double coated dogs even upon request, and I didn't even ask them to do it. Had I known this business liked to shave, I would have gone somewhere else. All I wanted was a wash and trimmed nails, so I just went to the first place available and in my case it was a mistake. Not only was she shaved without my permission or request, but she was shaved horribly. People are politely judging me say she is still cute but when I tell them it was unwanted they immediately say that it looks like the person didn't know what they were doing and that its a hack job. I have found two bald spots which are increasing in size, it's uneven in multiple places, and there are chunks missing all over. I did go back in a few days later and they did refund my money. She told me she has been doing this for many years and worked with almost every type of breed, but I honestly have a hard time believing that in this situation. A well versed groomer wouldn't shave this type of dog without asking clearly if that's what I wanted, or just based on a trim around the butt being requested. I am grateful I got my money back, but I am far from happy with my service. I am even more upset about the customer service I have experienced. 8 hours after I went in for a refund, they sent me a condescending private message telling me they didn't see anything wrong with my dog and they were wondering why I hadn't removed my review already. 8 HOURS after I went in. I am a busy person and while I planned on adding that I had been refunded at some point, 8 hours is not a courteous time, and just because I was refunded does not change that was shaved without me asking. She also has been commenting false claims about our interactions on my Facebook review and playing the victim. Maybe they enjoy their dogs with the teddy bear cut but they should not impose what they think dogs should look like on their customers and then tell them they are wrong when it's not what they wanted, and IS a choppy cut.
