I asked for sour cream on the side and it was all over my nachos. Had to throw away because I'm allergic. I called to try to get a refund and the man who answered was incredibly mean and dismissive.

My family has been going to Rudy's for so long that they recognize us when we go. We just got an order for pick up and my food is so cold that it seems like they put the enchiladas together then put them straight into the container. Didn't even cook it/warm it up. My grandmas taquitos didn't come with all of the side items. Then we called and there was no sorry or anything. All the employee said was "we serve warm food" and then it changed to "well we get busy sometimes and maybe the cooks forgot something. So that's their fault" Never going back... They didn't even offer to make it right. Can't even explain how disappointed we are. If I could give negative stars I would!

Food was impeccable. I've never seen such a beautiful display. They make sure it looks as good as it tastes. It is a smaller and not too fancy of a spot. We went when there was no line so service time was excellent. Not to mention the portions are huge for around $20 a person. I would recommend this place to any and everyone in Santa Barbara craving Mexican food. It's amazing all around.

Back again and still amazing! Highly recommend the California Burrito (now officially on the menu ), it is so huge and very delicious. Might be the best CA Burrito in California... And Dr Pepper on tap to boot. We make sure to visit this place every time we are in town.

Rudy's is the best! Chile rellano, taquitos with a generous heap of guacamole and sour cream, rice, beans, chips, salsa...all for $16.50! Nice clean dining area, friendly gal at the front and an awesome cook. Thank you!

We've been to two of the Rudy's locations and the food is consistently great! The location on Montecito has more seating. Food is served pretty quickly. The portions are generous and prices reasonable, especially for SB. So many good choices and have never had a bad meal at Rudy's.

I was craving for nachos. Rudy's did not disappoint me. The best nachos with carne azada. They have a salsa bar to complete your tacos. the place in nicely decorated. Portions are big and delicious. I also tried the carne azada tacos. delicious. The service was great. There is nothing to complain about. I recommend it 100%.

Food was okay, we ordered the carne asada burrito which had no flavor the asada was mainly all fat in it. I got the chicken salsa verde enchiladas which came with rice and beans, that was alright. Portions are large and the bar is stacked with salsas , the most medium salsa tasted like had no spice at all. The chips were okay with the salsa but I was too full from the enchiladas. We ordered a cheese enchilada which was super huge also and very greasy. Service was fast, there was no one eating there until we got there about three couples came in then some orders were to go. The decor and ambiance is very nicely decorated but wish the quality of food matched their indoor decor.

We wanted a quick and light dinner after a long day of travel and our hotel recommended this place. It is a fast casual place with indoor and outdoor seating. The food is relatively inexpensive and the portions are huge. We got the 2 mole chicken enchiladas which came with chips, rice, and beans. Everything was tasty. They also have a salsa bar with several different types of salsas. Our food was ready very quickly.

The way this restaurant works is that you go up to the front window, you place your order, you go and sit down, and the order is brought out to you. Pretty simple. It's important to note, however, that this is a popular café. So, particularly on peak hours, you're probably going to have to wait to put in your order. That's just an FYI. In terms of seating, they have a large outdoor patio space. There's a lot of tables there, so you should have no problem getting a seat, weather permitting. This area has tarps over it, so you do have some protection from the sun. But, depending on the weather, you may or may not like sitting there. Personally, I always like to sit outside at this restaurant. They do have some interior seating. It's fairly limited, but they do have a few tables. So, if you're lucky enough, and you want to sit inside, you may be able to grab one of these tables to sit at for your meal. In terms of their food, it's basically Americana, with a little bit of a southwestern twist. Overall, it's pretty good. They also have all of the expected drinks: your coffees, your lattes, your soft drinks, and all of that kind of stuff. Overall, this is an interesting take on a café in the Santa Barbara area. If you're into a casual environment, this is a fun place to eat.

SCORE 0 HEALTH HAZARD 10…read more This is our third time we've had issues with the staff. Today is our last time going here. There was only one person in line and 4 staff members behind the counter standing around talking to each other. Nobody greeted us or asked for our bakery order. When I said excuse me to a dirty blond girl she replied "WHAT!" and continued to joke with a co worker. When the cashier finished with their customer they walked away and even though they saw we were waiting to be helped. I looked around and saw nobody helping seated customers or us at the bakery counter. Finally, the dirty blonde ask what we need and my response was "WHAT" ?! At this point we should have left and gone to Lilac Patisserie however we proceeded to give her our order. I told another customer behind us that rudeness seems to be the norm, and she agreed. I paid for our bakery items and asked an older woman scrolling on her phone if we could have a bag for all of our boxed treats. She grabbed a handful of bags and threw them at me from across the counter. We were appalled and left. We found a place to sit on State street to eat our treats and my daughter said she didn't want her Meringue because the dirty blonde girl used the back of her ungloved hand to repeatedly wipe her nose. We threw all $50 worth of baked goods in the trash. Yes, I should have gone back and complained I'm had everything refunded but it was Mother's Day and we didn't want anything more to do with this establishment. It was also an epiphany that they don't treat everyone this way. It could be you next time. Please go somewhere else. We will never go to anywhere but Lilac Patisserie which is to the left as you exit Andersons, past the stop light. You will definitely get your money's worth and the staff is friendly, professional, and greet you immediately as you reach the counter.

The wait can be a tad long (but nothing longer than you'd expect for a brunch spot). Instead of placing your name on a waitlist, you stand in line outside along the beach while staff begin handing out menus. Once inside, it's order at the front and self seating afterwards. I highly recommend sitting outside if possible. The calm ocean winds and sunny atmosphere is just perfect for a nice brunch. My table ordered 4 dishes and enjoyed each one. The lemon poppyseed pancake was not too sweet and had paired perfect with the fresh blueberry jam. And the Norwegian benedict was lovely. I would highly recommend these two items! The second line parks you in front of tourist items for purchase and then the third line is at the counter where you order. Because the two inside lines weren't visible from the outside the wait was longer than expected which made it extra disappointing when I found out they didn't have the soup on the menu or any soup. I got the taco salad and was handed a very ordinary ice tea in a plastic disposable 10oz cup that was mostly ice, there would be no refills and I regrettably pre tipped. Pretty expensive but I don't mind if the food is good. I was given a number and told to go find a seat. Because they use every square inch for seating they had some uncovered seats that were in the hot sun, these were the only ones open so I sat in the hot sun with no shade. About a twenty minute wait for my taco salad. I wouldn't normally write a review over a taco salad but this one was so bad and so overpriced I thought it deserved one. It was basically a grocery store salad mix with a scoop of ground beef and a quarter of an avocado on top in a greasy flour tortilla bowl. I couldn't tell if the beef was good or not because it was drowned in what tasted like a sweet thousand island dressing. The setting is beautiful and the staff is friendly and competent but the taco salad is terrible and expensive.

If you're looking for a spot this summer with all the vibes, killer margaritas, and delicious food,…read morelook no further than Santo Mezcal in Santa Barbara. My bestie (and yelp elite) Imo brought me here for a girls day after raving about it for months, and now I completely understand the hype. We grabbed seats at the bar (which is honestly the place to be, especially since this spot gets busy on the weekends). Hint hint: make a reservation or get here early. But overall the bar was the perfect place to people watch and to catch up. When it comes to service, impeccable. Despite being busy everyone was attentive and the drinks/food were well placed despite it being a full house. And can we talk about the bartenders? They were so welcoming and even let us film while they worked their magic making cocktails. Watching them crank out cocktails with so much flair was half the entertainment and they couldn't have been nicer. Service was definitely a 10/10. We enjoyed a few margaritas but my favorite was definitely the Hibiscus Margarita. It wasn't overly sweet and was just refreshing. I also had the tamarind Marg which was good too. Extensive cocktail menu and mezcal if you like it. The food absolutely lived up to the drinks. Santo Mezcal takes classic Mexican flavors and gives them a slightly elevated twist while still keeping everything comforting and approachable. My friend couldn't stop talking about her Pork Belly Tacos and I fell in love with the Shrimp Enchiladas. They were loaded with fresh shrimp and covered in the most incredible creamy chipotle sauce (same as their sister restaurant Los agaves for reference). Definitely one of my favorite enchiladas around, 10/10 also. One thing I wasn't expecting is that their chips and salsa might be some of the best I've had. The tortilla chips were fresh, warm, perfectly salted, and paired with a salsa so good I probably ate two bowls before our food even arrived. Honestly, you could sit at the bar with a basket of chips, salsa, and margaritas for hours and be completely happy. Make sure you don't pass up on the chips and salsa. As noted, this is a more elevated Mexican restaurant so prices are slightly more $$$ but you get what you pay for. Just worth noting because if you equate good Mexican food being $2 tacos and a bucket of beer, this spot won't do it for you. But if you want something for more of a special occasion where the food, vibes and service are A+ then this spot is for you.
