We started with the pork belly appetizer and then ordered a salad with smoked turkey and kind of a sampler platter of items. Everything was very good, but we still talk about the pork belly. The potato salad and mac and cheese were very bland and lacked seasoning. The beans were a little undercooked and still had a bit of a hard texture. The coleslaw was an interesting take with pineapple and walnuts, but despite the unique ingredients, it also lacked flavor. The drink selection was also surprisingly limited to canned beverages. For a Texas BBQ restaurant, I was really surprised they didn't even offer sweet or unsweet tea. That felt like a missed opportunity. The employees were friendly!

Not to many breakfast options in the area unless you go towards El Paso proper. First thing I noticed is my wife and I were the only customers in the restaurant. Who knew that a dive bar in El Paso would have honestly legit bbq? When I went to 915 Vibes they…read moretold me they had opened another bar called The Lucky Dog and it had smoked meats. I was intrigued because most bar food was fried and greasy. When my brother in law came to town, I wanted him to experience the welcoming down to earth nature of the bars here (where families go out to drink together) and I was curious about the food. Wow. The bbq and brisket is legit. They have a smoker (locked up for some reason) that they smoke meat in every day and the results are super tender bbq and meats. They have a super clean full kitchen in the back (I asked to peek and thank the cooks) and they do some legit restaurant food here. The menu is pretty simple, the prices are super fair for the amount of food you get. We were 8 adults and it fed us all easily. We got nachos, zucchini sticks, onion ring petals, the brisket sandwich, and the ribs plate with beans and fries. We also got a lot of beer and shots to celebrate my in laws moving here. Happy Hour is from 12-8pm $2 Domestics = Miller/Bud/bud light /coors $3 Well Service was very friendly and the crowd was too, it seems that everyone was friends with each other which is nice to introduce to my out of town guests. Hubby remarked that the music wasn't obnoxiously loud and eclectic, probably because they have a jukebox system. We left when the dj arrived because we're old and have kids to pickup, but the others stayed to enjoy it turn up. I really like the bars here in El Paso, especially ones like the Lucky Dog which has awesome food. The meats were a little fatty but super tender, but hubby said it's actually good for soaking up booze if you want to sober up before leaving. Check them out, they're a month new, and #supportlocal. The place had a very nice vibe and seemed very popular. Classy decor but casual feel. The enclosed glass wine cooler was amazing to see. The wine glasses.... Well everything in TX is bigger. They were goblets and so pretty. Our server was Viviana, who was very sweet and polite. The bread was so soft and hot. But so much for two people, I felt bad not eating it all. One loaf would have been enough. I ordered a cucumber drink w/o alcohol: SO good. Mango salad with chicken for me. He had steak, lobster tail and a glass of Austin Hope red wine. Food was delicious! Plenty of parking but... people can't see nor pay attention to the faded arrows on the ground showing which way to go. Craving bbq this Saturday I came early afternoon to Rib Hit East. I already knew what I wanted. I'd…read morebeen dreaming of it all day. I got a root beer, a small combo with brisket and of course some honey glazed spare ribs, green beans and corn on the cob. Though I haven been here In several months I could have swore it used to be a whole ear of corn in the past, not a cobette. I also wanted an appetizer to start of some of their fried mushrooms with gravy instead of ranch. My drink came right away, it was ice cold and the Root Beer right on point. Then I waited. And waited. And waited. Wondering after about 10 minutes now or so where my mushrooms were.... Waited a little more ... and out came my entree. With apologies, some mix up in the kitchen and mushrooms ??? So I said to cancel them, because I wanted them as an appetizer, to eat beforehand. So now that my food had arrived, I no longer needed them. So my waiter said he would. So I'm buttering my corn. Salt and peppering it, trying my green beans (so good, but needed some salt and pepper too), opening this tiny maybe 2oz thimble full of bbq sauce for all that meat on my plate, taking a bite out of my first spare rib and another gentleman shows up with a basket of mushrooms and ranch. Apologizing that mine actually got sent to another table so they had to make mine again. I chew the rib chunk in my mouth and tell him that I had cancelled them already because they were to be an appetizer. And I already had my food. He again apologized and asked could he just give them to me, after all they were already made, I told him i didn't want him to have to do that but he insisted. So I agreed. I didn't know how many I might eat now, I was already out of the notion. But it was nice of him to comp them and leave them. So my food. Ribs were amazing. As always. My brisket was either the first cut or last cut on the board. It was more like burnt ends. I had no nice slices of brisket. Everything was black tough char. Some small outer slices, some outer chunks. All crusted and black. I just kept telling myself, this must be what burnt ends are like! And used sauce to try and moisten it... but on most of it, that was impossible. It was hard, tough, hard to chew. Very flavorful for what it was and I have pretty good teeth. But I got no nice softer moist slices. I didn't complain, I just soldiered on and ate it all. My ribs were so good, this day I wish I'd just gotten them. The corn was very nice and kernels popped when you bit into them but they were cold? The cobette would not melt butter. I've never had that issue before. The mushrooms were piping hot so I could tell they were fresh made. But I only ate about 5. I was all about my plate by the time it came. So this wasn't 5 star visit this time. I will be back, they still have my favorite bbq sauce in town, it tastes like Central Texas Bbq Sauce. So the brisket and corn missed the mark this visit, normally they are both on point. And the Gentleman in the Red shirt went out of his way to correct a kitchen or other waitpersons mistake on my appetizer in a friendly quick manner and I greatly appreciate that. And I'll tell others. I think I'd say, don't serve customers all black first cuts or last cuts on brisket unless they ask for that, most of us are looking for some nice lean to moist tender slices when it comes to brisket, thank you.!
