This was my first time at Rudy's! I will say it was a great atmosphere and ambiance for what it was. Walking in and having direct access immediately and heading to the front register to order. Customer service was great! From the entering in to the front counter and in between. They do serve beer!! I got the baked potato which was great, the sauce is what saved the taste for me as far as the brisket. Initially, it felt dry to me, but it was still enjoyable. I didn't know this place was so close to WBAMC, AND they give the military discount AND 20% on Mondays, whoah. We came to this location on the suggestion of some work colleagues. I never miss a chance to be my best carnivore, and Rudy's allows it. I kept it small, just a sandwich, a small side and a drink was under $15. I picked a moist brisket sandwich, and delicious side of cream of corn, and a small sweet tea. The portions of brisket was plenty, it was maybe a 1/4 lb. It was a lot, the corn was served fresh, from the pot, and it was bottomless sweeeert tea. This location has plenty of bench seating space in three different areas. The folks serving were very friendly and the acting store manager came to check on us. I felt appreciated as I was appreciating my sandwich. I recommend this Rudy's. read more

Bruh... I've had many a briskets in my day! We got there right at 10 thinking we got early enough to get some fresh meat. Well, not so much. They sliced us some brisket from their pit and damn near choked on it. So they pulled a fresh brisket out and sliced it up and served it and the lean would not even pull apart. It broke apart. Dried out and close to Jerky. Ribs... even worse! Have to think it was yesterday's meat that was reheated. However, Sweet Tea was great! Bread was great! Pickles were great! Everything cooked... I like this place. It was my first time there. The brisket sandwich I got was really good. I like how they give you samples of the food that you're ordering. They have a big condiments bar where you can get peppers , pickles and jalapeños from. They have big bottles of their signature bbq sauces at the tables with plenty of napkins as well. All Rudy's are not the same. I've been to Rudy's in Phoenix several times, and I absolutely love it. I was super stoked when I saw Rudy's within walking distance of my hotel here in El Paso. I got babyback ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and a regular sausage. The pulled pork was pretty good, but the rest of the food was sub-par and luke warm at best, and the sausage was actually cold. We went here for breakfast and they conveniently had a drive thru if you are in a morning rush like we were. We ordered the 3 different breakfast tacos. The first being a potato, egg, and cheese taco, a brisket taco, and the last one a bean and cheese taco. We also ordered a brisket sandwich and ice teas. The potato, egg, and cheese taco was good but lacked flavor. The chop brisket taco was good had a good smoky flavor that I liked. It would be a lot better if I added BBQ sauce as it was a little dry. The last taco was bean and cheese which was my favorite one I got. The bean has some meat in it just an FYI if you are vegetarian. I felt the same about the brisket sandwich as I did about the brisket tacos - flavor was great but would be better with BBQ sauce. They also have amazing sweet ice teas! PLEASE NOTE: I didn't add any salsa or BBQ to these tacos. Because we went through the drive thru, I forgot to ask for these on the side. Bought baby back ribs. Thank god i only bought a 1/2 pound. It was so salty. I dont' know what happened but they had too much salt or whatever seasoning they put. The rest was ok. I did notice they have started putting less brisket in their sandwiches. They use to be overflowing. read more

Absolutely love Rudy's! It's one of my go-to spots here in El Paso. There are 3 Rudy's here in fact. Each one just as good as the other. Rudy's is both a gas station and a BBQ joint. So you can fill up the tank, and fill up your gut. They offer brisket, smoked turkey, sausage, breakfast burritos, sandwiches, loaded baked potatoes... and much more. They charge by weight. So you approach the counter, tell em what ya want, and they gather it and weigh it and that's that. They also offer a military discount for the Soldiers out there. Their moist brisket is my absolute favorite. I can eat that stuffed in a potato, use it to make a sandwich, eat it with eggs and cheese in a breakfast burrito, or even just knife and fork eat it by itself. It's so juicy and fatty and cooked perfectly. So much flavor. And they have some good, house made sauces to go with it. I normally get a pound of moist brisket. Take it home, and use it to make brisket sandwiches using Chibata rolls and cheddar. It'll feed me two dinners or two lunches for about two days. The one pound can get ya about 4 sandwiches. Happy days! My sister is having a baby! It was with great honor that I came all the way down from New Mexico to celebrate her gender reveal hosted by good ol Rudy's! They provided a very spacious space to host her reveal event. They also provided the eats which were finger licking good! The meats were juicy, tender and oh so succulent. Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my face. Eh ehm where were we again? Right, the food was superb amd definitely made the afternoon very memorable. We learned my sister is having a baby boy and that I'm gonna be an uncle! Wow time flies! I love this place and I keep coming back. The meat is always a generous portion and moist........whether it's chicken, brisket or prime rib (prime rib only served on weekends). What I like as much as anything is that you can get a HUGE loaded baked potato. Many places only serve mashed potatoes or fries. The three bean salad is also very good, so is the coleslaw, not too much sugar. Bring your cup from your fountain drink next time and they will refill it for 99 cents! read more

However today I was very disappointed at this customer and her actions towards the employees here. The young lady I guess had messed up on her order, and this grown woman started complaining about EVERYTHING just to get free stuff I guess, the manager fixed it and she's muttering under her breath how " she didnt come here for stupidity".... Yes a grown woman who couldn't even take care of her screaming child who is too young to be stuck on a phone and acting like that, is complaining about the intelligence of the staff. Even though I see these places everywhere in El Paso, I honestly don't know why everyone loves them so much. So naturally, I had to pop my head in here and sample a couple of breakfast tacos. I mean, they advertise these things in big yellow letters on the front of their window. So, today I tried both the bacon, egg and cheese taco and the potato, egg and cheese taco to see which one I'd like better (I do this sort of thing a lot more often than I'd like to admit in public). The first thing I noticed which also caught me off guard was the packaging. Looked like one of those burritos you'd find at a gas station convenience store, nutrition label and all. As if that wasn't weird enough, the bacon taco tasted like said bacon was once dipped in BBQ sauce. Or perhaps it was just way too salty for my "old man" taste buds. Whatever the case, I'd give it a 5 out of 10. Now, when I first started tasting the potato taco, I thought it was a bit bland. Then I continued eating....and the taste somehow grew on me. How is this possible?? What IS this sorcery? I dunno....but I kinda dig the subtly here. Perhaps it was just a nice refresher from the over salted bacon taco. That's not to say the potato taco couldn't use a pinch of salt and pepper. It's like they steamed the potatoes and then wrapped them in a burrito with egg beaters and cheese. Yet strangely, I prefer these over the bacon taco (yeah, I said it. fight me!). I'm giving the potato taco 6 out of 10. Not great....but not bad either, if you're drunk. Rudy's menu is simple and very fairly priced. I also like the interior setup and how their pay system is setup for chip cards. There's even an option to get paperless receipts sent to your email. The decorum is extremely roomy and inviting, if you're into BBQ places. As for me, this is pretty much the only thing I'd order here. I'm not much of a brisket fan, but theirs is decent enough, from what I've read. All in all, I'd give Rudy's 3 salty bacon tacos with a hint of BBQ sauce in the back of your throat out of 5. read more

The food was nicely packed served hot and they hooked up all the sides options in baggies. I must say the coleslaw and potato salad were delicious. Moist brisket did not disappoint. I was a big fan of Rudy's back home in Arizona but we were short on time and needed something close. My husband actually really likes it so I thought let's give it a try in Texas and I'm happy I did. The staff were great and attentive. We had lean and moist brisket, a brisket sandwich, beans and a baked potato. It looked good and smelled even better. Two things set this restaurant apart: 1. Excellent service: The staff was helpful in explaining different meat options well, what differentiates them, and the provided small samples to help making final decisions. 2. Flexibility: This is #1 reason that sets this chain restaurant apart in my view -- you can purchase meat by portion. For example, you can order 2 ribs, 3 slices of briskets, etc. They are flexible. Most other BBQ restaurants would sell you a set with a pre-determined weight with larger and bigger portion than needed, which limits your options to try more variety unless you are willing to pay more. There are plenty of seating. Busy hours can be noisy, and the staff may not be able to get to clean the tables right away. If you let them know, they would come. There is a convenient washing station for hand washing without needing to use the restrooms. Personally, I would recommend their regular pork ribs over baby back ribs; Moise briskets over standard briskets. 4.5 out of 5.0 if some tables and full trash bins can be cleaned more quickly read more
