Uhh... loves it!! Haven't been back in awhile but now I'm wondering why it's been so long since I've been back! While we were waiting to be seated, a server came out and gave us free delicious samples of ice cream (strawberry, chocolate, or coffee)... great start! I arrived with a total of 3 people and since they seat us in order based on who arrived first, we were seated in a huuuge booth that fits 6 people. Awesome! I saw this amazing Saturn burger picture on Yelp but it's discontinued, so we asked about it and the manager okayed the order for us!! Yesss, lots of cheese!! I asked for side options and he named fries or salad.. I asked for his recommendation and he said Caesar salad... I LOVE Caesar! How'd u know?! We ordered the crispy green beans and I asked about the sauce options... he named buffalo ranch, ranch, and honey mustard and I asked if we had to choose one.. he said we get all three!! Ahhh everything is making me happy! Last.. as a side substitution they gave us garlic fries as an option.. omg... marry me! read more

I love Ruby's. This one at the Citadel is a sight for sore eyes for an Orange County boy traveling in Los Angeles. Every Ruby's has a special touch. This one has a Metropolitan automobile mounted on the counter. Service at this one today was great. I've been going to Ruby's since they started in Newport Beach. Been to most of them in Southern California. Today, I received some of the best service ever, along with the normal great food. With the Citadel shopping next door, it may be worth the trip just to eat & shop...even for an Orange County boy. read more

Me and my family decided to go in on a weekday and got quite disappointed. The food was not terrible, just the strange behaviors throughout the whole experience coming from the servers that made me think everything was. I felt there was something abnormal about the way the workers were treating us, especially when I got the chance to observe their behaviors - one at a time, clear enough to compare - around a certain group of other guests who, and they made this quite clear by the way they were treating them, seemed to be in some sort of close relationships or were important to the people in charge of the place, more or less. The people with whom they especially attended to were always the ones the waitresses instantly popped the tending questions first whenever they, well, just happened to be in a hurry to pass by despite us being the ones who arrived and got sat long before they arrived. The waitresses appeared to be unmotivated when serving us, no matter how polite, patient and tolerant we all were with their seemingly-always busy-serving-somebody-else attitude. If it's about lacking staff, it was clearly not as there were more than 3 different waitresses who came by the other tables within our area, asking about the customers' needs the whole time we were dining. There were only two tables, us and the "special guests". I was always the one raising my hand, tried hard to have eye contact or ended up calling out loud for them several times or else they would not even bother come to our table. I just hope it was not a race thing. I so hope it was not. We were Asians, the other "special guests" were White. Just, please. I am extremely hopeful that I am wrong about this. Overall, to be completely honest, I could easily find other places near my house with better fries and burgers. We just wanted to enjoy our time in Citadel and experience something different while we're at it. Their behaviors made me so uncomfortable that I don't think it's even a matter of them ruining my day with their meals or not, it just comes down to being unaware of them like we never ate at the place and not have any kind of reaction when their name appears again elsewhere. read more

I haven't been to a Ruby's diner in LA. This was a great find. Had an early lunch here with co-workers. The food was great and service was fast. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger/added avocado with garlic fries and a vanilla coffee roaster. The burger was really good! The garlic fries are to die for, garlicky-parmesan yumminess! read more

Food was okay, what really made the place worth it was our waitress Melissa excellent service from a nicely decorated establishment.

The hamburger is not so fresh. Not worth the moneyI only like the strawberry limonade.

Food was great. Only thing I didn't appreciate was the server upping her tip by $7. Our total with tip was $60, 2 days later I was charged $67. Wonder how many others are doing this... just be aware read more

Horribe. Stay away. Placed our order, got up to wash my hands, and our burgers were waiting for us. They were cold. No way they are made to order. When they did not ask me how I wanted my meat cooked I knew there was something wrong. Meat was burnt, fries were cold and hard, but customer service was ok. Stay away. Go to Carl's Jr down the street and get yourself a decent burger for cheaper. read more

Avoid this Ruby's at all costs, especially if you have any kind of allergies. They tried to kill me because they were too lazy to make my food properly. Also when you try to explain the severity of the situation to the manager he couldn't care less. I've tried several times to gives this Ruby's a chance. They have the worst service here. Last time it took half an hour for a server to come take my order. Bad management, bad cooks, bad service. read more

We got seated right away. Food came fast. Good server, Jen.. attentive. But went on break. Jaclyn reliever: not attentive at all !!! No attention nor help from anyone else. However, when they gave the bill.. so fast... I don't even have to call their attention to get my card and charge it without saying anything before getting my card on the table. What a service!!! read more

Pretty busy spot but perhaps it is because it is a Saturday morning. The place looked a bit under staffed so after waiting 10 mins to be sat in one of the 9 open booths we choose to seat our selves at the bar area. Another couple followed suit about 15 mins after. Food was average but this is a good spot to get a bite before the shops open read more

Waiter seemed like he was having an awful day ,because he took away the sugar packet from my table because my two year old was playing with them. My two old was literally just taking them out of the container and putting them back in, it's not like she was opening the sugar packets or chewing on them. Luckily my daughter got distracted with something else normally she would've been making a scene . AND he wouldn't speak any Spanish until towards then end he started speaking perfect Spanish. The waiter is tall with curly black hair and a lot of acne scars on his face. Hopefully he has a better day and doesn't pick on a two year old. read more

I'm not much for chains but this one beats out most for absolute suckiness. We got seated in the enclosed patio and things started well as they provided menus and waters along with the cardboard cars for the kids right away. Then, poof..no server to be found. When we asked another waitress if we can order, her response was "Let me find your waitress and let her know you're ready." 5 minutes later, still no service. It was probably a good 20 minutes from seating until the original person we asked showed up and said, "l'll go ahead and take your order." We ordered mac & cheese for the kids, a bowl of clam chowder, an Asian Chicken Salad and Fish and Chips and 2 shakes. 5 minutes later, they come back and say, "sorry- no mac & cheese." So we order kids burgers. The food comes out in waves 15minutes later. The fries were lukewarm. The clam chowder was cold, thick and coagulated. The salad was a soggy mess. It's almost like the food was prepped and forgotten under the heat lamps that weren't working well. As someone said in an earlier review, this place makes McDonalds look good. Sorry Ruby's but you royally suck. read more

This review is based on to- go food that was brought to me. Ordered the Ruby's breakfast burrito with the veggie sausage and a side of breakfast potatoes. What i got was a burned mess. Ruby's Diner - Probably the worst breakfast burrito I've ever had. - Diners Near Me - Commerce, California

There use to be a Ruby's in Pasadena. My wife loved their super-burger (Parmesan grilled bread and avocado), and I liked the fact that it wasn't Italian or Japanese food. Not that I don't like Italian or Japanese, but in Old Town Pasadena that's about all there is. The Ruby's in Pasadena is now gone, so when we're out and spot one we eat there out of nostalgia. This Ruby's has a restored classic automobile from the 50s parked above the cashier. Based on that, you can imagine the menu: burgers, fries, fish-n-chips, shakes, and a pot roast blue plate special. When we walked in for an early lunch at 11am. I was surprised to see a half-dozen tables with dirty dishes on them and patrons long gone. Not a good sign. We were quickly seated, and that's when the fine service stopped. Our waiter was attentive with drink refills, but 30-40 minutes waiting for a couple burgers and kids meals isn't pleasant. The kids get restless and someone always ends up crying--usually one of the kids. My food was ok. I had a Santa Fe burger with a side of Jalapenos and a lot of Tabasco. That made it interesting. If I didn't spice it up, it would've been boring. I do like the food, though; sometimes I'm just in the mood for 50s fare including a burger served warm in a red vinyl booth. read more

I've recently been exploring my vegetarian options & I was elated to find that they carry the "Beyond Meat" burger that I prefer & it was amazing!!! After a few hours of shopping, we wanted some food and fast Jeje. We decided to eat here and luckily there was no wait. We were sat at our booth and unfortunately had to wait at least 10 minutes before someone approached us to take our drink order. The waitress was friendly though and later checked up on us several times. We both ordered strawberry lemonades but noticed that it tasted "off" compared to a second serving later. The food was pretty good. Not great, but not bad. It was enough to satisfy our hunger. I feel like I would give this place another shot and could possibly go up to at least a 4. Next time, I would also like to try a dessert. Possibly a shake or a sundae. When we were there, we saw a server bring a sundae to another booth and it looked delicious. So, although there are some things they could work on, it is still a good option for a quick bite. read more

Table for two ... Stopped in for dinner after shopping for our last minute Christmas presents. During the holiday season I expect to have a longer wait time than usual at any store or restaurant. We waited approximately 15 minutes to get seat ( not too bad ) It took about 7 minutes before we were acknowledge and offered drinks. We decided to order right away and were told a 15 minute delay was in place due to them being busy ( which it didn't look any busier than usual ) 25+ minutes later still no food...Looked around and other tables that came after us were already eating, our waiter kept walking past us never excusing himself for the wait or never bothered saying he would check on our food. Our food eventually came out and it was mediocre. Cold fries, cheese not melted on burgers, brown avocado and cold hard buns. You can tell that our food had been under the heat lamp for a while. I didn't even bother to complain because I was not about to wait an additional 25+ for my order to be redone. The icing on the cake was when they brought out the check. 15 % tip already included on the check - hahaha what kind of joke is this? When I questioned the waiter all he said was " it automatically includes it but I can have my manager take it off if you want " - Yes please! Long wait time on the food and cold food, be glad if you get a $1 tip from me. I don't understand the hype, but I can probably catch a better meal at the food court instead of paying almost $20/person for a burger. First and last time that Ruby's is getting any of my money and service. read more

Decent food with decent prices. Bad service and rude manager. Waited 30 minutes to be served at our table and 15 min to get our check.

Came here during the week. We got seated pretty quick for a group of 4. They have outdoor seating which is the only way to eat out now days. Tables were fairly apart from one another. Service was pretty quick. It wasn't very busy either. The server was nice and brought out drinks out pretty quick. I ordered the turkey sandwich. Portions are super huge. We all took half of our sandwich/burgers to go. Definitely recommend after a long day shopping. read more

They were busy but were still able to get us in. We sat outside and I thought I was going to be hot, but the area was nice and cool. My sister had the super burger because she is a Avocado fiend and she said she was super happy with her burger. My Rubymelt was on point. The bread was nice and cripy and the sandwich was so cheesy. The fries were so nicely done that I didnt need any ketchup. Shakes were also good. These guys were way better than Las Vegas. Will definitely come back read more
