This place looks the part, but looks can be deceiving. First off how does an establishment run out of lemonade and mac n cheese? At 2:30 in the afternoon on a Sunday! And it was busy as f**k. My son was bummed but there where other choices anyways he ordered a grilled cheese. By the way, they did have that. I ordered the Cobb burger which sounded good. A Cobb salad in a burger, cool. It's also upgraded my fries to chili fries. So I get get my burger and fries. Looks good. The fries have the Ruby's chili on them. I notice the cheese on it doesn't look melted. I try it and sure enough the chili isn't hot it's Luke warm a big bust if you ask me. the burger was good but again it tasted like it was sitting for a while. The best thing was my sons milks shake. He let me try it, it was that good he didn't want to give it up. Not sure what the deal was with Ruby's that day but I probably won't come back. read more

Chain diner located in the citadel shopping center. Parking is practically unlimited as this is a sizable shopping mall. Having said that, you may be trekking across said unlimited parking a bit as the parking close by this restaurant tends to fill very quickly. This is a large restaurant, thus it can seat groups if you happen to need that. The decor is late 1950's-lots of red and white with matching vinyl seating. There are the lots of the expected diner booths along with the usual table chair combos. There is also a large counter seating area which typically offers the fastest service. Perfect for when you are in a hurry, not so perfect for a family of five. The staff uniforms are based on theoretical 1950's styling. The men have to wear hats, and women must wear skirts. As you might expect the breakfast menu is especially strong. The full menu is served until 11:30 am after which a limited selection of breakfast stuff is offered. Not quite what you want when you are craving biscuits and gravy at 2 in the afternoon, but most likely that won't be you. The lunch and dinner menu's are heavy on burgers, salads and sandwiches, which isn't a bad thing, but is more limited then what you'd expect from a diner. Both beer and wine are available and the while the taps are limited to mass market brands-such as modelo-that's makes for a decent pint. especially paired with a burger. In my opinion the desserts are a standout. Some of the shake varieties are pretty awesome an they do a great malt as well. I didn't have any issues with the service, but then I stuck with the counter seating. Not all waitstaff are created equal and this can be a very busy location. I could see where the system could break down a bit. Pricing is a little on the high side. A burger and drink will run you around 20 bucks or so, and it's very easy to get into the 30 range. Not too shabby a diner option, if overpriced, yet it does feel a little over wrought especially with the crew uniforms. Regardless it's one of the better options for the area. read more

Came for breakfast. Servers are great and attentive, the food however... eggs Benedict dish had overcooked, basically hard boiled eggs. The waffle was also overcooked. Felt like a piece of cardboard. Consider sticking to good ol burgers and fries. read more

It's very rare I give a 2 star rating, but this place was very disappointing. We were seated immediately, and our server immediately took our beverage and food order. Then it went downhill from there. We had to hunt someone down for our drinks, our food arrived cold, my garlic fries were greasy. My husband noticed that the food is quickly prepared by the cooks, but it sits atop the counter for over 5 minutes waiting to be picked up by the server. This place definitely needs to work on food delivery. read more

I never been here before, just stepped in when I felt tired in my high heel and felt like to eat sandwich(especially when i passes by the glass window , watching people eating , so yummy). We ordered three sandwiches, two beef sandwiches and one turkey sandwich, it has melt cheese and avocado ( best partner with sandwiches), and it has soft turkey and beef and crispy bacon . The French fries tastes also good . As sandwiches,For the price , 3 pieces of sandwiches I spent 38.20 dollars (tips not included ), not good price. :))))) read more

Got a Cobb salad, very disappointed. This is the second time getting the salad like this, do it's a hit or miss. The customer service sucked, maybe because they were busy. The burgers did look good. read more

Terrible service. I was promptly seated, but I sat there for 15 minutes and no server came by. At least two servers were working the tables around me but nobody came to my table. As I was leaving I told the hostess. To my surprise, no attempt was made to resolve the issue -- just said sorry and let a customer walk out the door. read more

Great service, one of the friendliest I've seen at a Ruby's! Located in the outlets, it's hard to find decent food besides fast food joints like Panda Express, Hot Dog on a Stick, etc. This Ruby's is not the healthiest, but provides a restaurant that is sit-down and full-serviced. I love Ruby's burgers here, especially the classic one. Their potato-like bun is always superb here! I made a new discovery, however, and this is the strawberry lemonade. Not just lemonade with syrup, but it's doused with actual strawberries. What really made this Ruby's stand out compared to other chains was the service here. The waiters were very friendly and outgoing, providing us with fast and quick service. I forgot the name of our waiter, but the kind grandfatherly man was great! If you have time and crave slightly healthier food with some service, Ruby's is the spot. 5/100 read more

Another reason why Americans are overweight..... Bacon Cheeseburger. 3.5 Inches thick, 4.5 inches in diameter, hot juicy beef patty, smothered with special sauce and melted swiss. Topped off with perfectly fried crispy smoked bacon...this baby is ready to do some major damage. Damage to your arteries, your heart, and out of your butt. Oh yes, this retro diner with friendly servers are ready to please. Burgers, shakes, and unlimited fries. Yes, UNLIMITED crispy hot FRIES. I thought the prices were pretty reasonable for this type of themed restaurant. So once you're done pigging out and rolling your lardo butt out of Ruby's, you can take a nice stroll through the citidel. Oh yeah, Ruby's has a section of the parking lot to themselves, 60 minutes only! read more

The burgers were okay, but definitely not worth the price. In-n-out makes better burgers. One of the waitresses we had was absolutely lovely, so I don't fault her for the following. Our waitress brought our check over to the table and said "No rush." About 3 minutes after that, another dark haired waitress comes to our and asks whether we'd like to pay with credit or debit and waits for us to pull out our card! I was in shock. I handed her my card for her to process the payment. She comes back with the receipts and tells me to sign the top, but to "Take my time." I signed the receipt and proceeded to write a note on the customer copy receipt to explain the uncustomary event that just happened to us. About 2 minutes after giving us the receipt, she comes back over and tells us we only have to sign the top copy and then tries the read the note I made RIGHT IN FRONT OF US, then she walks away. At this point I felt incredibly uncomfortable and called the previous kind waitress over and told her everything that happened. She was so kind and apologized on behalf of her behavior. Although I had a kind waitress, the other waitress was one of the rudest waitresses I've ever had in my entire life and the food wasn't that great. I won't be going here again. read more

Stopped by to eat on 4/19 with my girl. Got seated and had our order taken pretty fast. We where getting lost in a pretty good conversation when the manager or supervisor Jade informed us that our order was accidentally bumped and thats why it was taking so long, she gave us one of our burgers, the upgraded fries for free and a shake on the house; for what seemed like a normal wait on a friday lunch. The food came out fast after that except for they ran out of calamari so they offered us any other free appetizer. Our waitress Jasmine was polite and fast. 5 stars for gracefulness and thoughtfulness! read more

I got the Garden Scramble - 3 jumbo eggs scarbled w/ mushrooms, spinach, onions, bell peppers, house made salsa, shredded cheddar and monterey jack cheese ($8.49). This plate was good, but sort of on the greasy side, which isn't my cup of tea. My friend, on the other hand, got the cobb salad. It didn't sound appealing, but it looked really good when her dish came out. I ate off her plate also lol. Of the 2, the cobb was much better. The customer service was great. The food here was typical of a dive - diner; our expectations were not set high, as we went here as more of a convenience since we are staying in the area. The service was horrible! It took about 30 minutes to get our order of "garden scramble" and "shrimp tacos". The waitress was terribly forgetful - she couldn't remember to bring us water, then she forgot to bring us the bill, then I had to track her down for to-go boxes. The whole experience was awful. I would recommend trying another place. read more

I've always had a great meal when coming here. I usually like eating at mom and pop places but this place makes a pretty good veggie burger and unlimited fries so I win! The deal gets sweeter if you have AAA and get the outlet discount card free at customer service. You can get BOGO breakfast mon-fri and free mini sundae after 4pm. My parents are also part of Ruby's jitterbug club for 55+ so the check gets 10% off. Anyway, the food is great. Love the vegwich and the veg burgers. Breakfast is yummy too but I'm usually here for lunch or dinner. I've fallen in love with the new portobello burger. Grilled onions, slices of portobello, cheese, lettuce, garlic mayo, burger.... Oh deliciousness. Penny gum ball machine at the front counter is a good way to toss those pennies out of your wallet too. read more

I had seen this place a few times so decided to try it with a friend yesterday. We were seated pretty quickly, but then decided we wanted to sit at the counter. We waited for almost 10 minutes before anyone decided to take our drink order. The waiters/waitresses were just walking around and talking to each other. Finally a waiter came and took our order. He was very attentive to us and was a great waiter. We noticed he had the most tables and yet was working the most and taking care of the customers while the other people didn't care. The food was pretty good. Another thing, there was a waitress who was wearing her uniform so short you could see her butt. Honestly, I don't want to see her nasty butt while I am eating. It was disturbing. Never going to eat at this one again... read more

This was the worst customer service I've ever had at a restaurant!!! Everyone on the staff was so rude including the manager. This Ruby's Diner needs a major reboot of staffing. Our waiter was the nicest one in the building. First of all I checked in and waited outside because there was no seating inside which is fine. I asked how do you let us know when our table is ready? She said we'll come outside and holler your name. We waited for about 20min and went inside because there was seating and were asked if we could be helped. I said I'm Michelle party of 6 she says we called you already and I said no you didn't. She rolled her eyes and said loudly oh yes we did 3 times louder and louder every time. Just absolutely rude. We should of left but we're hungry and had kids that were hungry so we stayed. We ordered our food it came and everything was freezing cold. I mean everything!! Burgers, fries, everything!! I was pissed but held my tongue because of the kids. We asked for new fries and they were brought out cold as well. We told them to take the fries off the bill and they did but I feel like our whole bill should've been washed!! We will never go back here again. To the owners and management team please fix this for future customers. You should be ashamed for letting this go on like it has!! Get your stuff together!!! This place needs to be closed down!! read more

My first time at a Ruby's Diner! This particular Ruby's is located in Citadel. Really clean, friendly, and cute! Love the decor. Makes me feel like I'm at a diner in the 50s. Also love how almost all tables are cute booths! But if you're stuck outside, not to worry - it's really nice on their patio with the space heaters. I also want to emphasize how CLEAN this place is (especially when compared to a vast majority of Johnny Rockets). I was amazed at how good the service was, even with a packed to the brim restaurant (one hour wait). Alright, things I didn't like: almost all of their food. I feel like their individual ingredients may be good, but the assembly is rushed. Presentation and toppings are both lacking! Unlimited fries are included with every entree. Upgrade to garlic or Cajun for $1. Upgrade to chili fries for $3 (not refillable). Sriracha Burger (~$12): Burger was very dry. Patty was not juicy. All around, it felt like something I could throw together at home with minimal cooking skills. Turkey Burger with Guac (~$12): Guac was pretty good. Patty was pretty good. But there was waaaaay too little Guac and almost no sauce. This made the burger really dry. Especially with the super thin patty and super thick (dry) buns. Irish Nachos (~$9): Little thin potato spuds (similar to a chip but thicker) with sour cream, cheese, and bacon. I really regretted getting this dish. Potato spuds were soggy. There was only a DRIZZLE of sour cream and a pinch of cheese. We had to ask for more sour cream. But overall, it just tasted like eating plain potatoes. It also looked like they just threw it on the plate randomly. Garlic Fries ($1 upgrade for entrees): No complaints. Your average shoestring fries covered with garlic butter. I liked how they used fresh garlic. But if you aren't a garlic lover like I am, it may be too strong for you. Chili Fries ($2.50 upgrade with entree): Their chili isn't a hearty bean/beef chili. It had no beans and seems like it is more tomato based. Really good though. I do like their chili. However, they literally give you one TABLESPOON of chili over your (already included) fries. If I'm paying $2.50 for just a chili topping, I at least expect my fries to be covered in it! Especially when a whole bowl of it is only $3.99 (I think). Butterfinger Milkshake ($6): So delishhhh. Best thing on the menu. Would recommend. You get a lot of yummy little bits of Butterfinger, and the shake isn't overwhemingly sweet! Conclusion: try the shakes. Dont get anything else. read more

Mediocre food. Ordered the guac burger with fries, it wasn't even guac... More like mashed avocado. Its not that bad at all. Its kind of like a glorified Johnny Rockets. Its a great place to bring the kids since they give the kids these things to keep them busy while we order. We tried their breakfasts. And lunches. When this Ruby's was first opened, the service was bright and crisp. Waitstaff is attentive, but dismissive, probably beaten down from all the complaining. I hate to admit it. But even before I walked into this place, I was all set to give it a mediocre review. Why? Well, I figured if a place spends that much time, effort, and money to suspend an automobile in the middle of a restaurant...then how much attention can they give their food? But I was wrong... After Christmas shopping for myself, I was hungry. But I didn't want the regular food court fare. So I decided to try this place out. The parmesan fries were awesome. Yep, awesome. I had the BLT. The sandwich was on Texas toast with just the right amount of bacon and mayo. Yummers. Their carnitas were good too. Apparently they can do Mexican food, but I don't think I would venture beyond the carnitas. Why press your luck? Right? Our server wasn't attentive, but he was there during the important moments: take order, serve food, and give check. So it was all good. The bill for two people was under $20 with tip. Nice. read more

After visiting a diner in Hollywood I wasn't too sure about going to another until OH MY!!! Have you TRIED the milkshakes???? I ordered an Oreo milkshake being a big Oreo cookie monster and it was delish! As it was a chain I didn't expect much but my mind was soon when I looked down at the huge plate of burrito goodness :) brimming fillings in the burritos and extra dip from the waitress made this one girl very happy! Flavours consumed my mouth and when the waitress returned to check on us, the only word (or mumbling) i could fathom was "mmmmhhmmmm". Nommy would describe the meal brilliantly. Ugh. The burgers here make McDonald's Big Mac look like a five-star gourmet burger... It didn't take us long to get seated on a Friday afternoon. Service was prompt in getting our order in. I ordered their Mushroom Swiss Burger. It has a crown next to it so I figured it was one of their specialties or famous selection. On the side, I got chili cheese fries with a strawberry lemonade. Thank goodness the fries were good and the strawberry lemonade had free refills or I would've starved. The burger meat was gross. It was dry, over-cooked, and it felt rubbery. I never chewed on something for so long that I had to spit it back out. Just because the burger is big, doesn't mean it's good. Disgusting. I rather take my money to a better burger joint like Johnny Rockets or Red Robin. read more

Went during pre-Black Friday, around 11PM on the Thursday. Service was not good, and not bad. It was A-OK. I asked them for a spoon, it took about 15 minutes, but then after that they redeemed themselves. Got the Double Cheeseburger with Unlimited Fries, The Ruby Waffles and a Hot Chocolate. The Double Cheeseburger was pretty mediocre, slightly better than Carl's Jr. In regards to the Unlimited Fries, first got the cheddar fries. Those were pretty good. Then got the Garlic Fries, which had too much garlic. The Ruby Waffles were fluffy, slightly crispy, and pretty good in general. The Hot Chocolate was not too sweet, but pretty creamy. Spent a total of about $20 for all of this. read more

Alright - Me and the wifey stopped by here on our little shopping spree at the Citadel. This place was pretty busy - but seeing about 7 empty tables (bus boy had not been to yet) - it looked like the wait would not be long. Put in my name and was told 5 - 10 minutes. Well, "5 to 10 minutes" is more like 25 minutes. That is not the end of the world - just a little inconvenient. So, we are shown an outside table - and its dirty - The hostess uses her bare hand to wipe crumbs & leaves off the table, and says someone will come to clean it. AGAIN - NOT the end of the world - but for such a large chain.... not very professional. A server comes by - Joanna - about 5 minutes later and asks if we are ready to order. So, we put in our order - and ask if the table could be cleaned (as no one has come by yet) - Again, we hear someone will come by...... She comes back quickly with our drinks - but no cleaning cloth, or anyone else to clean the table. After about 15 minutes sitting there - Here comes the food. (On our dirty table) - the guy who brought it out was nice, and pleasant - but I asked if our table could get cleaned!!!! - He looked around - and said he would get someone to clean it (How many times have I heard that??) Our waitress is now missing - and we do not have any silverware, napkins or Condiments. I asked another waiter who is working his section - He brings a napkin dispenser to our table, and ketchup... quickly hand wipes our table working around our plates - and says he will get our server to bring out some silverware She is still missing - but I grab the hostess who originally sat us down - she promptly brought us some silverware (yeah, we can eat now) Why at this point we didn't just leave - I don't know - but lets move on to the food The burger was good enough - nothing to rave about - but what I would call "common fast food" - you could get anywhere. And the fries - here is a BIG problem - they taste like FISH .. yes, they have the distinct taste of breaded fish sticks - yuk - If I wanted something to taste like fish - I would have ordered fish. These things were pretty rank - and not edible. Still have not seen our waitress - but enough is enough - I asked the first worker I could see to bring our check - and tell him how lousy the food is - and the fishy fries. (He was not a server, and was pretty indifferent about the whole thing) - but he said he would get our waitress to bring the check to us. Needless to say - this is the most SUB-par Ruby's I have ever been to. You missed every mark - and I will not every patronize another one. Shame on you - and I recommend Avoiding this eatery like the plague. read more
