I was craving fish and chips so I gave it a shot. I have to mention I was disappointed. The fish tasted like the frozen Gordon fish filet you can get at a market. I paid 13.99 for 4 pieces of fish and fries! I could have gone to the supermarket and bought a box of them for 6.99!! The tarter sauce wasn't all that great either. Service and ambiance was successful. I got the 6 oz ribeye and half-rack ribs platter, served with a baked potato without sour cream. The potato had way too much butter, but I was able to enjoy it as I salted and peppered it periodically. The steak was well-seasoned, cooked to a perfect mid-rare and beautifully juicy. been a fan of Ruby Tuesday's for over 20 plus years but this one needs a Deep Clean. one person running the entire place. (bar & restaurant) the salad bar was scaled down to minimal and they were just little bowls of stuff there kind of odd. the burger and salad bar $8.99 can't beat it but don't expect the burger to be any more than a small McDonald's Patty. it's a shame It used to be a great place but I think it's time to shutter the doors in reopen with a new theme. the whole place is still from the '90s and just feels dirty yuck- the server has definitely been doing it for a while and does her best- you have to sit where it's convenient for her because she's the only one working. and she has a section right by the bathrooms not really where I like to sit. don't see them staying open for much longer sad to say- read more

Okay hear me out, I love Ruby Tuesday's. I love that they have a salad bar and I love their croutons. Is their food the best thing I've ever had? No but hits the spot that need scratching! I came here on a Saturday night and it was dead. Was seated immediately and went straight to the salad bar which was delicious. The inside is very clean and well maintained. My waitress was Moon Star who was the sweetest kindest soul. She was attentive and has such a great attitude. She told me that they were extremely short staffed and the managers would both cooking since the chefs called out. She apologized for the wait which was not long at all. Grubby Snowdays, this was my first time here in years...and I can't be more grateful for that. The food took forever, not as described, it was all dry, and the tater tots looked (and tasted) like they had been freezer burnt over a years long winter. It definitely reminded me of being snowed in and running low on food. You know, when you raid all the old stuff you forgot about in the freezer, tried to cook it up, and it turns out bland, dry, and crusty...yeah that familiar taste. My wife and I are regulars at this location for about ten years now. Maybe once a month or so. We are usually very happy with the meals we get. The service has been slow at times lately, since Covid, and I know that they are often short-handed. That doesn't bother us too much though, because the staff is generally friendly and caring, in spite of the fact that we've seen most of the long-term help disappear. My wife likes to get a full slab of ribs with a baked potato. She eats half of each and I have the rest for dinner later. I usually get the Bourbon Chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The last two times we were there, the ribs were not their usual "fall off the bone" tenderness. It was as if they shortened the cooking time or something. Tough and chewy. Very disappointing, especially for the price. The first time we thought "OK, maybe they're having a bad day" or something, but now this second time has us wondering if we are coming back, or looking for a new place to get ribs. BTW, my chicken dish has been pretty consistent, other than the fact that the portion size shrunk this last year. I used to be very full after finishing that, now I'm just full, so that's OK I guess. But the rib thing is a potential deal breaker for us. Is this the end of an era? Sad. I can't help but think that this is a local management issue. Please fix it. read more

I got the 8 oz steak with zucchini and mashed potatoes, as well as a salad bar visit. DELICIOUS salad. I don't mean to pat myself on the back, but wow. Issue was the food, we both ordered the fish and chips; my advice save the $30 go to your local supermarket and buy the Mrs Paul's or Gordon fillets a bag if fries and tub of slaw and have a MUCH MORE enjoyable and cheaper meal. We ate here for my daughter's birthday while traveling. 5 in our party, my husband and I and our 3 kids (2 teens and our 6 year old). Ok to the food, I ordered the T-Bone with grilled shrimp add on with a loaded baked potato and salad. The house salad was just ok nothing special. The T-Bone had a decent flavor but was chewy and had a lot of fat so only about half the steak was edible, loaded baked potato was just ok seemed a bit dry and for 1.99 extra didn't seem very loaded. I didn't receive my grilled shrimp and since our waitress was barely around just let it go thinking maybe the waitress did not hear me add it on. (It ended up being on the bill which took another 15 min of waiting to get it taken off) My husband ordered the sirloin and ribs. The sirloin he said was cooked well and had a decent flavor but the ribs were mostly gristle and fat and had a very bad after taste. I tasted a bite of the ribs and spit it out. We had wanted to get dessert because of my daughter's birthday but ended up getting it to go. The dessert was actually pretty good we ate at our hotel. It was a baked cookie (chocolate chip) with ice cream on the top. I love Ruby Tuesday and I recognize that they are struggling, like other places, since Covid hit in 2020. It would be nice if they would post a notice on the door stating that they are understaffed and it may take longer than usual to be served. And that the salad bar is not being managed. Today I just wanted a simple takeout salad. The salad bar was very skimpy, messy, cucumbers look like they were two days old, and it needed to be refilled and freshened up. I asked the waitress if they were going to replenish it and she said she didn't have time, she was the only one working, her manager was cooking, and I had take what was out. There was no "I'm sorry" but basically take it or leave it. I left it and drove out of my way to the Mills River Restaurant. At least be apologetic if you want customers to consider picking over the sickening salad bar. read more

We were in town for the apple festival and stopped in to have dinner. Most everyone knows that Ruby Tuesday has a great salad bar and I was really looking forward to a salad. However, while waiting to be seated I noticed the salad bar was a MESS. I saw an employee refilling the plates, containers, etc and thought - Oh, he must be cleaning it and refilling. That wasn't the case though. My husband and I ate our entree's - the food was average and looked as though it was thrown on the plate. Half way through our meal I visited the restroom and took a few photos of the salad bar. I saw who I assumed to be the manager stroll by a few times but nothing was ever done about the horribly dirty salad bar. Our little girl was getting antsy and not feeling well so we had to leave in a hurry so I didn't get to speak to the manager but when we left the salad bar was in the exact state as when we first came in. My family and I usually dine at this location when in town but I'm not sure we'll visit this location again. read more

Just came back from my dining experience at the Ruby. I am still asking myself why, I (or anyone) would go to a chain let alone this place, in a town like Asheville. The Ruby at this location is a lower end chain with basic food, sometimes served with a smile. I heard talk of the "Wonderful Salad bar" Let me tell you it is not that great, food mixed about in different bowls and on the floor, while fly's hover over head. We went to the Fletcher, NC location on 09/06/2022 and was thinking about doing the salad bar that I heard so much about. Got there about 7pm and was surprised that the place was empty. As we waited for someone to greet us, I looked over the salad bar and couldn't believe how bad the quality and quantity was, so I took a pass on it. We got to our table and ordered our food. The food we got was just OK, just not much flavor. I had also ordered some onion rings along with our meal....What I got was a small plate of maybe 6 small onion rings made from minced onion.
