Had a bad experience today unfortunately! It took forever for a waiter to come and take our drink order - once they finally showed up, they didn't bring out all the drinks - we waited for a lemonade for quite a while. Then we had to wait again to place the food order. The food got out very slow and the taste wasn't that great. My kid loves pasta and she didn't like hers. They did apologize at the end - but it was a bad experience overall! The restaurant was almost empty and many servers were present - so not sure why it took them so long. The salad bar was the best thing of the evening. Our party of 3 had really bad entrees. The pork in hickory smoked bourbon sauce tasted like it was boiled and had a weird texture. The same with the chicken in hickory smoked bourbon sauce and the chicken avocado sandwich. Nothing was seasoned either. This is a typical Ruby Tuesdays but the staff is very friendly and accommodating. As it is close to a hotel, there are many travelers that go there. Drink specials are only available at the bar. if i could give a place 0 stars i would do it in this situation. they had a 15 minute wait time from how backed up the kitchen was. they took over an hour to bring the meals. also the waiters don't check up on you at all during ur dining experience. we ended up ordering two more meals to go and they took another hour to bring those meals. also the waiters are clumsy and drop food when bringing out to the customers. and the price doesn't match the quality of the food. When you have family in town I think I, like most people, tend to shy away from places you've never been for the safety of knowing what you'll get. This was one of those times. We decided to eat here since it was convenient, but in all honesty we had a far better experience than we could've hoped for. Our waitress Lindsay (written Lindsa on the receipt so I'm taking a wild guess here) was fantastic! I mean seriously, she didn't forget any part of our order, never disappeared on us, and even let us try an appetizer we weren't so sure on (don't ask her to do that though seeing as how she probably isn't supposed to). I ordered the smokey mountain chicken which was really tender. The bacon was cooked well, but my only criticism would be about how much cheese they put on it. I had to scrape most of it off since it was literally a big ball of cheese that they melted and plopped on top. My wife ordered the Big Dipper appetizer. All of it was pretty good she said, but the one thing she didn't care for was the fried chicken. It just seemed to be over done while being completely dry. When you pair above average food with exceptional service it equals a solid review on Yelp. Past reviewers have been pretty harsh on this place, and it might be deserved. However, most of them were from quite a long time ago, and it looks like this place has come quite a ways. Ask for Lindsay when you visit, it'll make your lunch or dinner far more enjoyable even if the food is just solid, though not perfect. read more

Had a late lunch this afternoon. Was seated right away and they accommodated my mother's walker so it would be out of the way but in reach if needed. I ordered the hickory bourbon with bacon sirloin and chicken. When it came out the chicken had the BBQ sauce on it but not the steak. The order was taken correctly but the chef made an error. It was easily remedied. The sauce was excellent. The garden bar was fresh and well stocked. I chose the garden bar as one of my sides. My other side was the steamed broccoli-- slightly over steamed but was tasty. My mother had the crispy chicken salad which came with a ranch dressing. It was a very large portion and she brought half of it home for later. The staff was friendly and as I said accommodating. They were quick in correcting the order and in bringing out more lemon for my mother's iced tea. read more

Nice ppls however for 12+ for a 6 oz sirloin steak I was completely disappointed in the way that it was obvious they ordered the cheapest steak possible. It was very fatty and can easily be mistaken for a beef patty. The platting was almost a joke too in just a small square and I almost believe my partner had ordered another burger patty on the side. When telling the manager that is looks cheap she gave me a "what do you know look". Dirty windowsills should have been our first warning. Our waitress brought us some spinach dip that was cold in the middle but what was worse is she placed my plate down, I saw her notice it was dirty, but she decided not to do something about it and just walked away. Went today with a group of 7 and a 1 year old to celebrate my fil's 92nd bday. We had Tara as our server and I will have to say she was one of the beat servers we have ever had anywhere! Sweet, caring, attentive. She made our experience so much better! The food was delicious too. We are always surprised how good their food is! The spicy chicken sandwich was dynamite! I will be craving it! One complaint.. they changed the pasta salad on the salad bar. The new one was tasteless and no sauce. Otherwise everyone loved their meals! Thanks again Tara! read more

The food was not tasty. Table of three entrees all came out to be very disappointing. The place was not the cleanest and, truthfully, stank. We sent back one of the burrito entrees which, thankfully, was dropped from the ticket. It was expensive and gross. Went in for dinner on 3/18/20. There was nobody in the restaurant. Most of the servers were congregated in a booth by the bar. They were loud and disruptive. Food was inedible. Ordered their "fall off the bone" ribs and they were tough as can be. The chips for the nachos were burnt and the whole plate was dry. Overall not a pleasant experience. So my family and I were shopping out at the Ellenton Prime Outlet yesterday and we usually dine at Ruby Tuesdays afterward. We come to find that Ruby Tuesdays has been TRANSFORMED from just a regular American place that has decent food, to pretty menus, comfortable booths, and new meals on the menu that taste great. The only downfall to this whole thing is that prices were forced to go up for this new renovation. It's OK though! You can order two mini-burgers with fries and a salad bar for only $8.99, and not feel so bad for splurging on the greasy food when you have all that healthy and yummy salad to eat. Word of advice: Stay away from the Avocado Ranch sauce. The waitress was very nice, the only complaint I have about her was that she didn't refill my drink once I finished it (which was roughly towards when we were paying the bill), though I argue that it is the MOST crucial moment of waiting to secure your tip by putting a finishing touch on someones experience anywhere. Of course, that was her only flaw, so she still received a generous tip. read more

Buhhh.. worst Ruby's I've been to. Salad bar was empty-ish and STALE. Salad had those red edges it gets when it's a few days old. Things just didn't look fresh. Croutons were totally stale and hard. Woof. The quesadilla was okay, but not my favorite. Way too many peppers, but I'm sure it was pre-made frozen and heated up in the kitchen, so it probably wasn't the cooks fault. Service was good, so it's unfortunate the meal wasn't better. A little sprucing on the freshness scale would bring this place up a few notches pretty easily. read more

This review is to properly thank Ruby Tuesday of Ellenton for being awesome. Several weeks ago, I went in and placed a to-go order that took an inordinately long time to complete. When it was finally ready, the person who had taken my order handed it to me, and said "I totally forgot about you!," but I assumed that they were backed up in the kitchen so I smiled at the "joke" and let it go. It turned out she wasn't kidding. We ate a cold and pretty awful dinner that night--but I wasn't about to bring it back because by then, we were both starved. But right after eating, I did call and speak with the manager to let him know that after it had been prepared, our order had been (literally) forgotten and left to get cold. My intention was to alert them to be careful about orders left hanging--and that if a server was aware that an order had been sitting (in our case about 45 minutes!), that something should have been said right then and there about starting a new order from scratch. At the end of the day, being candid about what happened - - PLUS getting an edible meal is a lot better than making a joke and sending your customer home with close-to-inedible food. The manager I spoke with that night, Terrence, insisted that if we would give them another chance, our next dinner was on him, and I told him that I was certainly not going to write off a restaurant that I have gone to for years because of this one negative experience. We had dinner there tonight, and the manager on duty checked with Terrence's notes about the incident and confirmed that the check was on them. Our server was terrific, the ribs were great, the dessert was excellent (though way too much even for the both of us to finish!), and they even encouraged us to order enough to take home! So major kudos to Ruby Tuesday for handling this incident so incredibly well! read more

Went with the idea of having soup and the unlimited salad bar. Manager came by and highly recommend the broccoli and cheese soup. So the 5 of us ordered the soup and salad combo. Worst service ever! This is my third visit in 30-40 days and 2 out of 3 visits I had horrible service in the bar area. The first time I was alone ordered a drink and told the bartender I would order food after my first drink... he let me sit with an empty glass for 10 minutes while he chatted with his regulars. There were people at the bar counting me. When he finally came around I asked for the bill and he was oblivious. Tonight 12/4/17 two Colleagues and I sat at a high top, we were given menus and no one came to check on us again, so after 15 minutes we went across the street to Chili's there are too many choices in the area to put up with crummy service. We all know it takes more than one visit to get a solid interpretation of the establishment of note.
