The first thing you should know is I love Chili's, as far as semi fast food joints go - this is my favorite. Unfortunately the last couple times I've been to Chili's I've left with a bad impression...this was the second time. I sat at the bar ordered a draft and then looked at the menu. The bartender was attentive but also constantly on her earpiece/microphone giving orders to the delivery people from the kitchen. That's where it went south - the delivery person was running around delivering food all over the place and was constantly being distracted by the bartender apparently talking into his ear. I enjoyed the chips and salsa, there was more than I could eat as always....the burger I ordered was good - cooked nice and balanced with the toppings but the side show was distracting. The place wasn't very busy, the food was coming out quickly, y'all have to come up with a better way than barking on a microphone that so and so didn't get his coke yet. We were promptly greeted by one of the servers who was very attentive and friendly throughout our dinner. We both ordered triple dippers which were fantastic (if you know you know)! First off - I love Chili's as a chain. This location decided to partner with a local school and offer a coupon for a free appetizer with the purchase of an entree and I called beforehand to confirm and got there and they wouldn't take the coupon for my appetizer because what I chose was "too expensive." I wish we had the same experience at dinner that we had at lunch. We were greeted by someone who was smiling and made us feel welcome. We were seated right away and looked through the menus. And we sat. Our table had crumbs so we had to flag down someone to clean it. The person said she just came on and the person ahead of her didn't finish cleaning. No problem. We waited a bit for our server to come by to take order and finally the same person that cleaned the table came by to take care our order. We ordered the shrimp fajitas and a ribeye steak with mashed. We had a free queso and chips off the app so had that for an appetizer. The queso came fairly quickly. It had a skin on top so may have been sitting. The chips and salsa are delightfully thin and crispy. The shrimp fajitas were just ok. They had a strange flavor that I didn't care for different from other fajitas. The steak and broccoli were good but the mashed were not. Overall, food and service for dinner was not as good as it was for lunch. It could have been an off day and other dinner selections may be better. Chilis has upped the quality of their food. It's still Tex mex, but the quality of the food is much better than it previously was. You can't ever go wrong with the southwest egg rolls or the honey chipotle boneless wings, but the real surprise is their new mozzarella. It's delicious! Went tonight around 6pm, half the bar was open and more than half of the main area tables were empty yet it was a 45 minute wait. It's Monday night, restaurant is barely half full and the wait time was because of staffing. When we approached the hostess stand and said 3 people the reply was "it's at LEAST a 45 minute wait...we just had a large party come in and we are short Staffed" I live nearby and honestly try around once a month to go to this location and it's the same thing every time. The drinks were delicious AND happy hour every hour, every day Our server was Eric and he was tremendous! He checked on us just enough to where we enjoyed our food and he just knew when to ask us for anything! I don't know why I keep trying to give different chilis a try. Walk into a near empty location to watch a football game only to be told its a 20-25 minute wait, due to them only having one cook. We even said we just wanted water and were not eating and she said she could only sit us at the bar. Which didnt have two seats available next to each other.
