Well, This recent trip was very dissapointing. In prior trips the food was very good and the wait staff, altho overworked, due to staff shortage, was spot on. The wait staff was attentive, courtious and friendly. All that being said, this latest trip proved to be a totally different story. First of all the resturant was clean, It was dinner time on a Friday evening. The resturant was almost empty. Hmmmm! should have taken the hint. One waitress was running around taking care of the few folks that were eating. I started by ordering some salsa and chips (very good and recommended) with that I ordered a new offer, a watermelon margarita. What I received was a margarita glass filled to the top with ice to which the margarita mixture was added. To put it in another prospective, It was 99% ice and the rest was margarita, maybe about 3 good sips worth. Are you ready. $12.99 plus ond dollar for Watermelon syrup. $13.99 for a glass of margarita ice was not acceptable. Now the food. The bonless chicken tenders were always good, but this time I received 9 dried out pieces of tenders that I called to the attention of the waitress. She did offer a redo but I refused, It was one and done for me. No, they did not remove from the bill. Bottom line, it was nowhere near as good as the prior visits to this location. The bartenders are really good, and prompt to take your drink order. Leah is their best asset behind the bar, always quick to take a food order and drinks refilled no matter how busy. I typically reserve one star rating from places that make me sick, but I'll make an exception for this Chili's location. As mentioned in my earlier review, we live super close and would order from Chili's more often if they were able to get their act together. I know people blame COVID and them not being able to find people to work, but these issues were present even before COVID. Everytime we get carry out, at least one item was missing. I'm starting to think they do it on purpose to cut costs. We checked the bag and noticed the missing item. Went in and asked for it. They gave us a different looking item and insisted it was right. I love the Skillet Queso and it was my reason for ordering Chili's. They gave us baked potato soup, which tasted powdery, and insisted it was the right item. I also ordered the Cajun chicken pasta which had little flavor and only four slices of chicken in it. Next time we will just order from one of the other choices within walking distance like Applebee's or Winghouse where we actually get what we order. read more

We (party of 4) arrived at 10pm and their close time was 11. We waited at the stand for 5 min and the host came and said the manager told her to tell us the wait time is 45 min. There were maybe 5 tables filled and a bunch of workers - we said you really are gonna say 45 min and then you close 15 min later ? Host said she told the workers to go home and is making her do overtime - obviously the manager didn't want any more business for the night telling us a 45 min wait. Stopped in to Chilis on our way back to St Pete and sat at the bar. Leah was our bartender and when you hear the phrase "going the extra step" she did it. Leah told us about the Margarita special and it was on! I really liked the margarita which had 3 tequilas including 1800 reposado tequila. Leah actually gave up the margarita recipe and on top of that exceptional service to boot. We ordered the Fajitas and Bacon Ranch Quesadilla both were hot and goods. The quesadillas actually had chicken in them and with a side of Chile ranch sauce! The restaurant was clean. Thanks Leah for a great experience we will see you again soon read more

This is new to Ellenton just over a year ago. Staple mid-level restaurant chain. Decent service and drink specials, although not a huge fan of the 2 ten-ounce beers. I'd prefer a large glass over the two small ones. There are a lot of burger and beef choices, and Chili's constantly has a seasonal special Menu in rotation, so you know you're getting added choices all the time. Close to the Ellenton outlet malls, and far enough away that you (may) avoid the crowds. read more

First and foremost I am not a fan of chains...but after showing several homes, my customers decided that we should stop for a bite at Chili's. Oddly enough I worked for Chili's in my late 20's as a side gig. Some of the offerings are the same most are not. The service is fine, the food is ok and the atmosphere is well, typical. Our server was a lovely young lady. She was helpful and attentive. It seemed as though every time I turned around another beverage was waiting! I had the chicken crispers with the loaded mashed potatoes. The chicken was tasty and coated in a honey chipotle sauce. Not over drenched but just enough. The mashed potatoes were dry and rather tasteless. We started with the nachos. I forgot that Chili's basically spreads a plate thin area of tortilla chips and puts the meat- cheese and what have you on top. The meat however was chunks of beef which was actually a nice surprise. The service was just AWFUL and the food took an hour or more for us to receive our food only for it to come out cold. The manager could of cared less. No apology...no discount...no dessert...nothing. So we asked her to bring out the white queso cheese dip with no "meat". And when she brought it out she didn't bring chips with it. Fourth, we had to ask her for more chips, appetizer plates & extra napkins twice. Fifth, the food....SMH! They need to stop and start over because I've never had a bad meal at Chili's until today. My chicken & fish tacos were flavorless. My son's "mac-n-cheese" was that boxed Kraft googley glop, so dry...my son didn't even eat it. What a joke? Out of the six of us only one of us enjoyed the food. Even the chicken strips were bad; they were over salted. Sixth, we got the bill and guess what? We were charged for both queso dips (including the bean dip crap) & the Mac-n-cheese which we informed Ditzy Danielle was horrible and my son refused to eat it (not one bite). Unfortunately this particular Chili's restaurant is going downhill fast. The Buffalo chicken salad is a favorite of mine but this chicken was flavorless, had inconsistent lettuce and lastly after pushing the food around the plate found a hair in the food. The kids Mac and cheese had a off smell to it and was not touched after a few bites. The kids chicken tenders were fried too much and crunchy. The service was excruciating slow even though there were not more than probably 15 parties in the whole place. It did appear they were grossly understaffed for a lunch run, and our server tried their best with the influx of tables. We have eaten here a few times before this, and always at lunch and have not had any issues but frankly with prices so high for what you actually get it's just not worth it. If you haven't been recently I encourage you to check it out again as management has changed and they are much more organized than when they opened. We typically love coming here, but over the last year, this restaurant has gone so far downhill. It is dirty, the staff uncaring and the food tasteless. We went in one afternoon for lunch and ordered boneless wings, a burger and chips and salsa. Our server forgot to bring us the chips and salsa- we had to remind her. The chips and salsa were the only good thing with this visit. We finally received our lunch and the boneless wings tasted like a shoe. They were very obviously old. They were also stale and the fries were cold. My husband's burger, which is usually delicious, was totally tasteless. The server never even checked on us. I went to pay our bill and did not want to touch the portable pay station- its was so disgusting with a build up of crumbs and dirty on it. Then I looked at the booth next to us and saw how dirty that was. Looks like nothing in the restaurant had been cleaned in many years.
