I love family owned restaurants, and this one was no exception. The place is bigger on the inside than it looks like on the outside, and decorated in typical diner fashion. We snagged the last table on a Saturday morning, although it looked like nobody really had a long wait as the tables were constantly turning over. They have an extensive, reasonably priced menu, and although I was torn between a few items, I finally decided on a feta and spinach omelet, add tomatoes, with well done hash browns, and their house biscuit. Food didn't take long to arrive, and the portion was generous. My omelet was perfect, the hashbrowns super crispy, and the biscuit was buttery and to die for. The server was very friendly and got our coffees out quickly. My decaf was good. I ordered 2 eggs over medium with hash browns and a biscuit. Hit this small breakfast/lunch spot on a Monday morning with my father while visiting him over a long weekend. We were seated quickly, server was very friendly, and offered a few suggestions. The menu is pretty hefty, offering a lot of options for both breakfast and lunch. They've got a good variety of omelets, (2 or 3 egg), skillets, and a la carte options, as well as many hot and cold sandwiches, burgers and a huge salad selection. Being early in the morning, I went with a 3 egg sausage and cheese omelet, which I got with hash browns and a biscuit. This thing was no joke, when it came it out, it honestly seemed like a hell of a lot more than 3 eggs. They did not skimp on the sausage or cheese filling. Everything was delicious, and very filling, much more food than I could eat. One thing that stood out though, living in the south I've eaten my share of biscuits, but this is the first time it's come out sliced in half and toasted...it was a nice touch, and helped add to a delicious meal. I'd definitely recommend this spot, but again it is a small diner, so I assume it probably gets pretty busy and full on weekend...proceed with caution, but enjoy! read more

My wife Martha and I love Butterfields and have been going for years. Food: I give a solid 9 on breakfast. Have not had lunch yet. I usually get eggs Benedict, or hand beaten eggs for ham and cheese omelettes. Don't like my omelettes fluffy and full of air. They accommodated me and are good at that. Hash Browns well done and crispy. Biscuits and Gravy...yum. All good. Reasonably priced. Go Hungry!!! Service: has always been excellent. Service gets a 10. Very nice people. Willing to accommodate you to make it like you want it. Get your food pretty quick and the waitresses are always pleasant and sweet. Ambiance: It's what you would expect from a family diner. You can tell this is the friendly neighborhood breakfast spot. I came with my mom and nephew while visiting since he loves their pancakes with butter. I kept it simple with 2 fried eggs, crispy hash browns, a waffle and coffee. Everything was cooked to perfection! Even the hash browns were exactly how I wanted them. The waffle was delicious and had some whipped cream and cinnamon which was a nice touch. I love diner like restaurants so when we saw this place, we had to stop. It's very small inside, but they manage to fill up the tables and the staff is hustling. Our server was quick to get coffee while we reviewed the menu. The menu has a great variety from which to choose. I wanted to get eggs Benedict, but it's so iffy everywhere I have eaten that I settled on the ham and cheese omelet!with fruit and a biscuit. Food came out nice and hot. The omelet was a bit overdone, but inside was gooey goodness of ham and cheese. The fruit cup was fresh fruit. The biscuit was amazing! A fully loaded country breakfast - I'm getting that full feeling again just thinking about The Butterfield Skillet a week later. My NYC golf buddy ordered a similar dish - corned beef hash instead of the steak - we both talked about "not growing up with hash in our lives" I made up for that lost time, those lost big breakfast meals, he remained perplexed. All ingredients were layered, thin sliced steak with American cheese were seared to beautiful brown, potatoes possibly cooked thereafter and we're nice and crispy, not really chewy. This was not an overly greasy meal which in the back of my head - there was a hint if thoughtful concern as my eating has become quite clean. Biscuit needed gravy, so I ordered a side of sausage gravy and to jazz it up a bit, they top with two eggs - I'm totally a Sunnyside Up Guy, just not overly runny with that zygote twist.
