I don't have a Ruby Tuesdays in my state anymore so I enjoy finding one on my travels. This particular one is by Syracuse University and is surrounded by many hotels. I went two nights in a row and both times service was super slow. First night, my burger was overcooked and came with onions (requested no onions). Salad bar was missing hard boiled eggs both nights, not sure why they didn't put it out. The ambiance is very nostalgic for me of a classic Ruby Tuesday. There's ample parking. Bar seating, booths and table available. If the service was quicker and salad bar was up to par, they would be one of the best Ruby Tuesdays. read more

I ordered on their website for carryout. I showed up to pick up the food and the bartender was my first interaction. She wasn't pleasant at all. I told her I ordered carryout and she asked me my last name. She brings me a bag, hands it to me and says "we were out of fish so you'll have to call whoever you ordered from for a refund" I told her I ordered on Ruby Tuesday's website and there was no phone number, that this was an issue their manager should be able to resolve. I had nowhere else to order food, and wasn't going home without dinner for my wife, so I sat while they made me something else while the other food got cold. Never got a refund for the food not prepared, the rest of the food was terrible. This place is on its last leg and it's only a matter of time before karma kicks it out from under them. read more

I haven't been here in a while as I just moved back to the area. I was so excited to go even though the appetizer I used to get wasn't sold anymore ( it was a queso dip and was delicious!) But none the less I still wanted to come for the great salad bar because I love the croutons! Upon entering we were sat immediately as there was only 1 other party in the restaurant. However, host/waiter was not friendly at all. I was surprised he never said anything to us. Not welcome, not how many in your party, not even a hello! His shirt also did not hit and you could see his gut hanging out the bottom which was very unappetizing. I order a chicken sandwich plus the salad bar. The chicken sandwich came out black. My cousin was staying in a local nearby hotel, otherwise Ruby Tuesday would not be on my bucket list. It appears this location gets a lot of hotel guests, went early 6pm very quiet by the time we left filled up. Service was OK. The waiter did me a favor and substituted my side to their baked beans-ice cold. Cousin's side corn also ice cold. Sides were served in very small cups. Not worth it. French fries were large portions. The restaurant needs some internal major renovation. Very dated. The food was just ok we all got hamburgers which were good but not great. Salad bar was very good. Fresh but reduced in size from previous Ruby Tuesday visits many, many years ago at other locations. Draft beer menu limited. Would not run back! read more

Never again.. cleanliness was awful. We were seated at a table with a dirty table cloth and the waitress told us the tables get "dusty" there was old food on it. I used my napkin as a placemat as I felt so yucky... The water tasted sickly. Like pond water. Everyone at our table thought so. 20 8oz sirloin was tiny, overcooked. $30 ribeye was like a pancake flat and overcooked as well. This is about our 10th time during the past 4months eating at the Ruby Tuesday's in East Syracuse, NY. Food is always satisfying and prices are reasonable. We had a party of nine on Sunday November 3rd and I have to give a top rating to our waitress Dana, we had made this reservation with her about 2weeks ago and when we arrived the setting for our party was complete. She was friendly, punctual, always returning to ask if everything was good and if we needed anything else. Dana must be recognized by the management for her superior work ethics and efforts. We will be returning on a Thursday this month with our neighbors to enjoy the Salad bar and smash burger special, and hope to have Dana wait on our table. read more

Ruby Tuesday supposedly America's classic dining spot and boy did I want to like it! Unfortunately, too much of it was awful. The host was clearly upset and unhappy with her position, and the carpeted floors were sticky . The woman who serviced us was amazing though and you could tell she really cares about her job. The tbone steak and mac n cheese were solid choices, and the steak was cooked as I like it (rare). All that doesn't overcome the unclean state of the place and the attitude of some of the staff. An elderly couple came and were seated at a location that was poorly cleaned up, and actively decided to leave instead. Last time we went in, our server Sean S. was attentive and kind. There was a wide variety of options at the salad bar all were fresh and full, ranging from lettuces to topping to dressings. Entrees came out hot - Chicken was juicy, vegetables were cooked just right, and mashed potatoes were creamy and good. Fish was seasoned well, paired with rice and zucchini. All in all a nice dining experience out. - Recently we've ordered pick up about 3 or so times and it has been a very painful experience. Nice menu, many different choices. Food and salad bar are very fresh and tasty. Friendly atmosphere and the best part is the staff. Even if they haven't seen you for 3 months they welcome you and let you they are glad you came in and spend time talking with you. My wife and I go there whenever we can and it doesn't matter if it's Mary the Manager, Amanda, Cliff or whoever you get as a bartender or server , they remember you and are happy to see you and care about what's going on in your life. There are a lot of nice restaurants in Syracuse area but having a great dinner and interacting with nice staff makes the difference when we decide where we will go for dinner. Besides this particular Ruby Tuesday in East Syracuse being dimly lit and depressing as if it hasn't had an update in 20 years - an employee at this location got hold of my digital gift card and used it. I know this because the one and only time I exposed it's number was when I went for lunch to have a "salad bar and baked potato" lunch special they advertised only to be told they were "out of potatoes. Seriously- WHAT?? There were only 4 people in the restaurant during peak lunch hour including me, so how can you be out of potatoes? How in the world this restaurant is still in business. is beyond comprehension. Consequently, I only had salad, and I even hesitated as the salad bar looked like a herd of cows trampled through it with dressing on the sneeze-guard and salad items spilling into other containers. Later- I came to discover there were other charges made to my gift card even though I only used it that one time, so someone on staff who saw the number, used my GC. I immediately contacted thie guest relations dept yet It took me weeks to get Ruby Tuesday to address this. Their local District Manager, a guy named Peter Kohler, called me to apologize and tell me a refund was made to my credit card. I even received an email confirming the refund- but after 10 days a refund still had not shown up on my card, and now they claim they have no record of my complaint. I reached out to their DM, Peter who had given me his number and who seemed surprised no refund had been issued- and he assured me he'd see to it the refund was processed immediately and "call me back in an hour or so." That was 7 days ago and he has disappeared and not returned my voicemail. I filed a dispute with my bank showing my communications with Ruby Tuesday and their failure to follow through with the refund. Fortunately, American Express refunded the charge as they protect me from scams. Even when Guest Relations sends an email stating a refund has been issued, it's apparently not true - and their DM should be ashamed at how he failed to handle this issue. I am not sure about other locations, but how the East Syracuse property allowed an unauthorized person use my GC is tantamount to theft and I should have contacted local law enforcement. My advice to everyone out there is DO NOT purchase a digital gift card to Ruby Tuesday. They used to be a great place butthey have gone so downhill it's not funny. As soon as you walk in this restaurant it's obvious they have no pride in it. There is a reason they advertise so many specials of "Buy one entree, get one free" - because they must be starving for business. It's no wonder so many Ruby Tuesdays are closing. Was very disappointed with the meal my family had recently at Ruby Tuesday's. We hadn't eaten at Ruby's in a couple of years. And decided to stop for a meal on a trip. The staff were conscientious and helpful, however the food quality of the food in general seemed to be lacking. My reason for stopping was in the past, the salad bar was wonderful. Hidden away from the beaten path, off Carrier Circle by the hotels, always good food, service, and atmosphere. They have regular specials for lunch and dinner, all of which have been good value and appetizing. If you're looking for an overpriced chain restaurant with mediocre food and lackadasical service, this restaurant is for you. It has everything you'd expect from a two-star restaurant: sticky tablecloths. Dirty silverware. Waitresses who let an entire meal go by without ever bringing you a glass of water. Beer that takes five minutes to come, and when it gets to your table isn't cold at all. This place had less than a dozen patrons in it at 8:15 tonight, and yet it still took a good 15 minutes to get a decidedly "meh" quesadilla. The lettuce on the plate must have been intended only as decoration, because it was so brown and sad looking it must have been in the fridge all week. I always thought Ruby Tuesday's was just a TGI Friday / Outback / Applebee's knockoff, with ginormous portions of all three kinds of food (steak; burgers; and fried) priced at $15 and up. (You're not getting out of here for less than $20 - even a visit to their little salad bar is $10.99.) I was seated at 12:45 and after waiting patiently for almost 15 minutes went to the bar in hopes of ordering my burger special from the email I received from Ruby Tuesday.
