Unfortunately, just mostly your usual Americanized Chinese food mall vendor fare here. The interesting thing is that within the Garden State Plaza mall's food court, there are actually 3 other vendors that serve almost the EXACT same food. If you would have blindfolded me and given me a taste test of the food, I would definitely not have known which one it was from. As for how we arrived here as we walked through the food court, it's really just a matter of which one you encounter first. In terms of what they serve, they have your typical mall greasy fried rice, lo mein noodles, mixed vegetables, fried plantains (your guess is as good as mine), mango chicken, roast pork, chicken and broccoli, string beans, spring rolls, beef, etc. HOWEVER, what did intrigue me was that they do serve some Hong Kong-style noodle bowls, which I have yet to try, so maybe my opinion of them might change if I visit them again??? The one positive thing that you will get here is your bang for your buck in terms of portion size. The employees pack in the food into your tray and use every last centimeter like they MUST give away the food, so bring your appetite. Other than that, don't expect too many surprises, but do expect a hefty container of subpar, greasy Americanized Chinese food that'll give your arm a workout as you carry it to your table. read more

Went here for a little dinner bite yesterday. I ordered the noodles with chicken and broccoli & the roasted chicken. The chicken & broccoli was good at first, the closer I got towards the bottom of the dish, it didn't have the best taste as it was completely drenched in the sauce. It has a slight curry taste to it and I think it would have been a better pair with white rice instead of noodles because of how much sauce was on it. The grilled/roasted chicken was okay, a bit more overcooked this time around but it was flavorful. It has more flavor than some of the street food in nyc. The noodles had too much sauce, everything was just soaked in sauce after a few bites which made the meal less enjoyable. The service was good, the man at the counter served us with what seemed to be a very genuine smile. I will say, between this spot and the bourbon street grill, the bourbon street grill stuffs the containers with food while they don't stuff it here. but they also give a good amount because its too much to finish haha. Prices have gone up but that is for everything right now. the "daily special" has now gone upto $12.99 for an entree and two sides. After tax it was about $14. You can get a much better and fresher meal at that price. That being said, the food was not worth it to me but it did have flavor and was enjoyable for half the time. The atmosphere is in a way nice because they're close to the children's play area which could be bad for some people but to me it just makes me smile. Just can't eat near there because it is loud as expected haha. Overall, not bad but if you're at the mall, you can drop $14 on a better meal maybe even at CPK. This restaurant is located in the food court of the Garden State Plaza. I've been here before the pandemic when I got something to eat before a movie. Since the mall has been closed for a while, I haven't been able to visit again. Today, after finding out that the mall is open, I called Ruby Thai Kitchen to see if they were open as well because I was craving their food, especially their mango chicken. To my surprise, they told me they were in fact open, but I had caught them just when they started closing. I was sad to hear that at first, but then the lady was so nice and said she will wait for me to get there (even after I told her it's about a 15 minute drive for me). I have never experienced customer service that great. I was really appreciative that she did this and was so delighted. I got an order of their mango chicken, orange chicken, grilled chicken with a side of fried rice. Honestly, the other reviews are right. Their mango chicken is to die for, and I can't stop thinking about it. I had gotten this the last time I went and thought it was amazing so I'm glad to see that the other reviewers here agree with that. The chicken has the perfect amount of crisp and the sauce is like sweet and creamy. If you only are going to get one thing, I highly recommend the mango chicken. The grilled chicken is the one that they pass samples to frequently if you are walking around, and that one is also delicious. Although this restaurant has the word Thai in its name, I do feel the hot table is more (American) Chinese-oriented, which is fine and works in my favor, because I love mall Americanized Chinese food. I believe they do have several Thai dishes that can be ordered. I prefer Ruby Thai Kitchen's food to any Chinese takeout place. There's just something about the quality and taste of the food that you don't get with takeout Chinese. The portion sizes are very generous here. I got enough food for almost 2 meals. For 2 meats and 2 sides, it costs $8.99. If you pick 3 meats and a side, it costs $9.99. The price is pretty good in my opinion as it is super filling. I can't recommend this place any higher. If you are in the food court at the Garden State Plaza and love Chinese food, definitely go here. It is worth the extra drive for me to go here instead of settling for a takeout Chinese place that is closer. This is the best mall food I've ever had! And I grew up 10 min from a mall. The mango chicken and the honey chicken are perfectly fried and crunchy. Full of flavor. The pad Thai was delicious too! 3.5 stars, I rounded up. Pretty decent food for a mall food court stand. The people here are pretty friendly. They are always offering free samples, when they see you walk by. I guess it could be annoying for some people, but I don't mind it. I've tried their combo platters with mango chicken, chicken with broccoli, lo mein, and fried rice. I've also tried their noodle soups. The combo platters are okay. They give you alot of food, but its basic mall food court quality. It's filling, but nothing fantastic. Their soups, however are pretty good. It's relatively authentic Chinese/Taiwanese style noodle soups. The beef noodle soup with egg noodles is my favorite. The food as you'd expect, at a semi upscale mall, is a bit pricey, but at this mall you kind of have to deal with a little of price gouging anywhere you go. read more

Probably one of the better mall foods that I've had during my lifetime. Now let's get one thing out of the way - this is not Thai food. This is a Chinese food joint with "pad thai". But it's pretty darn good and definitely better than most out there. Their mango chicken, which I think is really honey chicken with orange flavoring, stands out, and the pad thai is not bad. I LOVE this Food Court option. $5 everyday 30 min before closing and you get 2 sides and 2 entrees. The pad thai is very solid with plenty of egg and the mango chicken is a must-try with a creamy dressing. The chicken with broccoli is also very solid with a savory sauce and the stir-fried veggies and green beans are seasoned, light, and cooked to a perfection. It's not gourmet but seriously one of the best food court Asian places I have tried. They also have ramen and noodle soups! read more

This is the worst Thai food I've ever had. I ordered beef pad see ew on Uber eats and it was horrible The noodles were all coagulated together like when you put noodles in the refrigerator. When cruising the food court, there were a variety of choices, and in looking around, the portions at this food court are noticeably smaller than the portions at other food courts although the prices did not decrease by a corresponding amount. We ordered the meal with 2 types of meats and one starch (noodles). The menu at the top listed the price as $6.49, but the menu on the counter listed it as $5.99. Fortunately, they charged us the lower price. The bbq chicken was tender and yummy (especially since they did not skimp on our request for extra sauce). The sweet and sour chicken was over-deep fried and did not have a very good texture. The noodles were oily, but good. Portions for this place were better than what the other places dished out. I might go back, especially since I wanted was to ease a few hunger pains, but I'd prefer the CPK which is right around the corner in the same mall. read more

Simply aweful. It is literally panda express with thai iced tea available. I had the Pad Thai noodles (sticky,cloying) mango chicken (sweeter than normal general tsao ) and the Bangkok shrimp ( fried with a soggy crust and a bit of chili powder for color). The servers were screaming as I ordered each item what the up charge would be, almost comically. The iced tea tasted sort of like authentic Thai iced tea,but overly sweet. The whole meal was just terrible. Everything coated in batter and covered with a nauseating sugary sauce. In a mall of this caliber the food court is a joke. The chicken dishes here are good, especially the mango chicken. There's this one guy there that always sample the mango chicken to people passing by and he said "sample! Mango chicken yummy yummy!" And he's right! It is yummy yummy! I like the lemon pepper chicken is probably my least favorite dish bc it's just a little too lemony and peppery lol.
