This is such a cute spot that's somewhat tucked away. The ambiance is casual but very comfortable, making it a great place to take someone for a good brunch or an afternoon bite. I had the fried chicken Benedict on a buttermilk biscuit with a cream étouffée sauce that was spectacular. The pineapple mimosa was also pretty incredible, and I really enjoyed the fried green tomatoes. The food was outstanding, but their customer service was unfortunately a bit lacking. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I would definitely return.

Such a wonderful place. I enjoyed delicious praline pancakes, drip coffee, bacon, and bayou shrimp benny. I went for something small and kept ordering because everything was so well done. Service was top notch. The bartenders, servers, hostess - I mean I'm from NOLA but this was some next level welcoming energy. I felt like I left as friends with them all. I will be back! It was also extremely clean, well organized, and peaceful.

Customer service 5 stars. I went in alone Friday morning around 8:20. Hostess greeted me immediately and sat me. Server came right over and got me started. I had an expression martini, tots starter, shrimp Bennie. Everything came out super quick, hot, and was yummy. Manager was moving around. Communicating with colleagues and guests. She complimented my cardigan and made sure I had all I needed. I was near the kitchen and everything seemed clean and in order. They also seemed to be enjoying one another and getting work done. They were quite busy and everything went smoothly. Would come back with family. Generous parking. Free. And a great outdoor option for families if the weather is right. Megan D was my server. She was very nice helpful and responsive.

I finally made it to the Ruby Slipper after driving by it for years and it didn't disappoint!! I wanted to try everything on the menu but decided on Biscuits & Gravy ( half just one egg ), loaded tots, and sangria. The sangria came to the table first and omg it definitely set the tone for chill Sunday brunch vibes. The loaded tots were seasoned well and had a slight crisp, the biscuits and gravy were flavorful just enough gravy for every bite without making the biscuits soggy. The atmosphere is casual and a mix of tourists and locals ( like myself) you have the option to sit at the bar, outside or inside. My server Timothy was friendly knowledgeable and checked on me while dining. Great experience without breaking the bank.

Eggs Cochon Benedict

This was a pleasant experience! It was a lot of people in the place but the line was not long. We were quickly greeted and seated by the host. I loved the artsy decorum throughout the restaurant. My family ordered a few things- see photos. My food choice was EGGS COCHON BENEDICT & my drink choice was RISE & GRIND COCKTAIL (Espresso Martini). Afterwards, we went to play corn hole in the nice green space. They give 15% military/first responders discount too. Overall, enjoyable experience!

This is not what I expect ! The neighbor is somewhat run down ! This place is a cornerstone restaurant in this neighborhood ! Food was great and service was even better ! Lots of live in this place ! Happy hour at 8am is the bomb ! Cornhole out side and servings were more than enough ! A very good neighborhood feel !

I've heard a lot of good things about Ruby Slipper, and after trying it out for the first time I can definitely agree with the positive comments! The restaurant decorum was very creative and nice with NOLA based artworks around. There's also a cool outdoor patio with fun games (connect 4 & bean toss) and seating available. There's a spacious parking lot right next to it. Our server, Diana, was super helpful and really funny! She was awesome to us. We got their Costa Rican Breakfast ($13.00) and Peacemaker combo, which is 2 different Egg Benedict's of your choosing ($17.00). For the Peacemaker, I chose their Chicken St. Charles & Eggs Cochon. So delicious!! Everything was very flavorful and tasty! I liked how balanced the Costa Rican breakfast was with the ingredients. I was a big fan of how tender the pork was for the Egg Cochon. For drinks, we got their Ruby Colada mocktail ($6.00). It was really good, and the unique combo of beets and coconut actually blended well with each other. Overall, Ruby Slipper is a must try brunch spot in NOLA!

The food is always great here, and I always forget they have this huge outdoor parking lot with some outdoor game space for children and adults. The temperature is comfortable and the service is fabulous. They even do separate checks and of course the food is not only delicious but affordable.

Fried Green Tomatoes Starter, Bennie Trifecta

Very friendly service, we were seated promptly and had a nice view of the giant backyard space. Food was fresh and hot and the eggs Benedict trifecta was awesome. Small gripes- the beignets were a bit too dry and tough, the peach pureé in the Bellini was too sweet, the fried green tomatoes were impossible to cut so I just ate it with my hands. Overall I do recommend Ruby Slipper!

This breakfast gem is amazing. I enjoyed it so much we went back the next day for lunch with family. The chicken strips were delicious and seasoned . I ordered a salad with fried chicken and I enjoyed it. The coffee here is also great ! I wish we had this place near us in Schertz:Cibolo Texas

Okay so I have visited several of the Ruby's locations including one of my favorites stashed away in Alabama. I have never visited this one and I'm kind of upset. It's very small not ideal for groups but definitely a girlfriend trip or a cute little couples outing. If breakfast and or brunch is your type of meal, because I'm a breakfast all day kind of girl. And bias to breakfast, and again I am upset because this place continues to exceed all my expectations for what some may consider basic meals. I mean I just can't explain the pancakes, I just can't lol. If you have a deep love for breakfast or brunch this place is flying way below the radar. Please don't put it on the map, because I want to continue eating in peace. How cheeky of that request as I'm making this review. Sometimes it's hard to share a good thing. But this place definitely checked off all the marks when it came down to quality, flavor, and service etc.

Went with a friend from Arizona, and the food was great. Our server was very professional and courteous. The place was clean and neat as usual.

Three Little Pigs Omelet

Ruby Slipper is a citywide favorite for good reason. Always busy on weekends, so diners in the know make sure to join the waitlist before they leave home. On a recent Saturday brunch date, we had the pig candy appetizer, which features applewood smoked bacon and glazed with caramelized brown sugar. It's salty, it's savory, it's sweet, it's chewy, it's crunchy. It can't be beat! My hubby always goes with the three little pigs omelette: pork three ways cloaked in Swiss cheese. This trip, my FIL got a classic biscuits and gravy. I love the Benedicts, but it's so hard to choose just one. Luckily, they have the peacemaker! I went with eggs cochon and gulf shrimp. The gulf shrimp side had a fried green tomato, shrimp and Tasso in a red sauce, and was delicious. But the favorite was the eggs Cochon side with pulled pork and a cheesy hollandaise. The vanilla iced coffee was a nice treat too! They're dog friendly on the patio, and there's lawn games to entertain yourself. Even when the waitlist is long, the staff here keeps things moving quickly. Perfect for a family outing or a friend group brunch.

Still a New Orleans Gem - Visitor since 2018!…read more I'm updating my review as of April 2026 because it's important for visitors to know that The Vintage has absolutely "still got it." My last review was in 2020, and I'm happy to report that the quality and atmosphere remain top notch. Whether you are looking for a morning pick up or an evening wind-down, this spot covers all the bases. Their beignets and coffee are a classic must have, and I can personally vouch for their Americano. It is consistently well made and delicious. They also have a great selection of beer and cocktails if you're looking for something a bit stronger. What really sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. We have always had great interactions with the staff, but a special shout out goes to Jimmy, whom we met this past week. He was incredibly kind and hospitable, truly making us feel right at home. Jimmy if you are reading this, THANK YOU!! If you want a spot that feels authentic, welcoming, and consistently excellent, put The Vintage at the top of your list!

The menu has many choices. I ordered the firecracker shrimp with side arugula salad. The shrimp was yummy the salad too but expected more on the salad maybe cucumber or tomatoes over all for just having cheese on Arugula with dressing was ok. I paired it with the shrimp and it was tasty! According to the hop on/off bus the beignets & champagne are the hit at this cafe. The bartender made a wonderful cocktail with champagne & it was delicious! The spot is dog friendly & in a cute little restaurant/bar row & shops area.

Here wheat fields bow, their gilded spines resigned, Transformed by hands into a living dough, Wild yeast and patience, earth and sky combined, A tang of hope, an oven's gentle glow; Each loaf a testament to all we sow. This bread, crackling crust and airy, sour-sweet, Is more than sustenance; it is a prayer For all who gather, breaking bread to greet The morning light, and taste the love baked there; A grace that rises softly through the air. Yet one delight eludes my hungry heart: The one for whom my eager soul is yearning. I call to the Creator, source of every part, Their absence stains the loaf, the fields, the burning Of longing that the rising sun keeps turning. Grant me solace, Creator, as seasons spin. Above, within the ancient oaks outside, Two yellow birds in sunlit rapture sing, Echoing the baker's joy, the pride Of daily blessings, simple, sanctified. While I, earthbound, savor crust and spring, Trusting the Creator will one day lift my wing. Why do they sing so bright, so unafraid? Perhaps their hope is kneaded by the Creator's hand, While I, with all this gold and bread, remain unswayed. Hillel Yisroel (Albert) Canalizo

We arrived sans reservation, but were whisked straight into the courtyard -- arguably the best seat in the house on a pleasant Louisiana evening. Between the soft night air and the glow of the courtyard, the atmosphere alone deserved applause. The cocktails arrived first and immediately set a dangerously high standard: beautifully crafted, perfectly balanced, and the kind of drinks that make you consider canceling your plans afterward. Fortunately, the food rose to the occasion. The edamame and roasted Brussels sprouts disappeared with alarming speed, and the Amelie Salad was a standout -- generously portioned, fresh, vibrant, and substantial enough to be an entrée or ideal for sharing if you're pretending to be civilized. A special nod to Liz, who elevated the entire experience with spot-on recommendations, warm hospitality, and the rare ability to be both attentive and effortlessly relaxed. In a city famous for memorable dining, this meal still managed to feel special -- equal parts elegant, welcoming, and unmistakably New Orleans.

The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.
