E X P E R I E N C E we came as a group of 5 on a sunday at 8am. you can book a reservation ahead of time but it really wasnt necessary as it wasnt busy. the other location would probably be more busy tbh. the restaurant only had 3 tables taken. we were immediately sat and brought waters/menus. F O O D breakfast sandwich, scrambled egg, brioche, bacon, no cheese: choice of meat, egg, cheese, biscuit or brioche bun and a side french toast bites: brioche french toast bites, fried and tossed in cinnamon sugar and served with cream cheese icing and praline sauce trivecta: taste of ruby featuring the signature benedicts: egg cochin, chicken st charles, bayou shrimp white choc bread pudding pancakes, sauce on side: white chocolate brat putting in cinnamon Sugar, topped with white chocolate whisky sauce. salmon avocado toast: multigrain toast points, haas avocado, pico de gallo, hot smoked salmon, poached egg, herb creme fraiche, pickled red onions, flash fried capers and chives everything was phenomenal. theres nothing you can go wrong with here. the sandwich, french toast bites, and avocado toast were good one person sizes for the average person to be full about 75% but if you're really hungry, i'd definitely go for the trivecta or that could be a shared item between a couple. the amount of food on that was monstrous. the white choc pudding pancakes were so tasty flavorwise but the pancakes were a little too doughy and it was extremely sweet (and this is coming from someone who eats like 800g of sugar a day lol). A T M O S P H E R E so trendy and fun. beautiful wall art. its a lot prettier than the other locations. inside seating is good for couples to small groups. bar seating as well. outside seating is also available with a tent cover so you wont be blinded by the sun. great for couples to large groups. theres a life size connect 4 outside. family friendly. couples and adult friendly as well. the area is very well kept and clean. Our waiter, Chef, was helpful with menu suggestions and he did an amazing job bouncing between being helpful in the kitchen and being attentive to us as a group. This was our first time visiting Ruby Slipper, it was an easy process getting on the waitlist and being seated as soon as we got there. It was pretty busy as it was deep Mardi Gras season but it took our server a long time to even acknowledge us. When she finally came and took our order, we had the trio Benedict and candied bacon. Bacon came out and it was ok...strips were really small but flavor was good. The tripping Benedict's were good too. I've was shrimp creole which I thought was the best one, only it was lukewarm...I think it would've been better if it was hot. The other 2 had pork and chicken on it. We made reservations for a party of 9 ahead of time. They said they would have to split us 4-5 which was fine but once we got there they put us all together!!! They have a neat back area with seating and yard games so we actually played cornhole while we waited! It was swiftie weekend so it was quite busy. Our waitress definitely seemed stressed out. She said it would be easier if we did one check. Get it, but it made life annoying for our group later. She skipped a person for the drink order and then another one didn't even get her drink for almost an hour.... The food came out pretty quick tho and wasn't bad. Nothing amazing though. I LOVE me some Ruby Slipper Cafe! Especially this location because it's so big and there is usually a limited wait. My go-to is the Peacemaker. Eggs Cochon is AMAZING! My second one I switch up each time to try something new. This time I got the bayou shrimp. It was okay, but I like the Chicken St. Charles the best. I have been to one of the Ruby Slipper locations in the French Quarter ( around the corner from the Sheraton on Canal) before and it was delicious. During my last visit on 10/20/24 me and some family members were recommended to go to the location on Broad Street. It is a stand alone restaurant with a nice patio and area out front to play cornhole. It also has its own parking lot (major plus). We were seated quickly and our server, Keshon, was great. She was both friendly and efficient. I had the shrimp omelet which came with grits and a buttermilk biscuit. Those grits were cooked to perfection and that biscuit was one of the best I've had in a very long time, as a lot of places make biscuits, but don't necessarily make GOOD biscuits. You also gotta try the candied bacon. They played good music, we enjoyed our meals and had great service. read more

The service was in a great atmosphere, and the food was even better. It was made more convenient cause we were right across the street from our hotel, and we love their omelettes. This last trip we realized there are more than one location so I had to search my previous Yelp check ins because we really liked this spot. After eating for several days and waking up late, we made it a point to stop by on our way out of NO. I ate so much this last trip that so couldn't eat any more at all. But it's Ruby Slipper and we were anticipating going here. My first trip, I ordered something I can't remember because it had one fried green tomato and that is all I can remember. It was that good. I never had one before and I felt like I had been missing out all my life. It is one of my favorite movies after all. This trip, I ordered the red and green fried green tomatoes with poached eggs and biscuit. I couldn't eat it all but I made my best effort and it did not disappoint. So delicious. My first time here was about a year ago. It was super busy. The food was good but I was disappointed with the portions. The menu didn't seem to have changed much since that time. This time was a lot better. We were able to be seated as soon as we arrived. The staff was very accommodating. The portions were better too. We ordered beginets as a starter. They were actually very small in size. We also ordered the megas (an egg dish served over fried tortilla strips and a side of avocado slices), fried catfish and grits, shrimp and grits, a side order of chicken sausage, and a side biscuit. The biscuits are a good size but were very dry. The butter that was served with them made them better. The shrimp and grits would have been a much better presentation with several butterfly shrimp on top than the small shrimp mixed into the grits. We also had a couple of mocktails. We waited for TWO HOURS after being told our wait would be 30-45 minutes once we were officially added to the list at the hostess stand. Worst part was the hostess told us we were next and we had 5 more minutes then 15 more minutes when we asked again about 40 minutes later and we heard her tell everyone who asked for an update the exact same thing as us and that they were next. At the two hour mark, I checked back in with her and she blatantly ignored me. I know you can't always control how long people stay at a table but our place "in line" kept getting pushed back when we would check the app so I recommend making sure the software actually works properly. I wouldn't have been so upset but we had a diabetic with us so giving more accurate updates could have prevented the issues they had after we left. When we were finally notified that our table was ready 2 hours and 15 minutes after getting on the list, we were immediately "taken off the list" before we made it back to the hostess stand so that is when we decided to leave. This experience makes me sad because we really liked coming here when our family comes in town and they were very excited about it but we will never come back if we can't trust the wait times given. I know this can't always be controlled but the hostess could have been a little kinder about it or even escalated the matter when we hit the two hour mark. read more

This location is normally top tier but today my experience was subpar. 1. This dishes were dirty. I asked for side plates to share my fried green tomatoes and had to send the plates back. They were visibly still soiled. The syrup dispensar was sticky and clearly not cleaned between customers. 2. My mother asked for a spoon for her coffee. The waiter brought it and put it directly in her coffee and she had to request another one. 3. The kitchen was visible from my table and its floor was noticeably dirty. 4.
