It's a cute place. I personally wouldn't recommend for groups. It a bit quaint. I also would recommend reservations. My friend enjoyed her loaded taters. I had the chicken and French toast bites. The fried chicken was fried perfectly. Many of the bites were overcooked but the ones that were edible had potential. Service from everyone was perfect. Even the manger came around and checked on us.

This restaurant is a quaint little restaurant that has a great neighborhood atmosphere and is casual and comfortable. My brother recommended this place for breakfast and I can see why. My wife and I were seated right away upon arrival and our server Judit was very friendly and attentive to our needs but I could tell she was handling a lot of customers. I ordered the Bananas Foster French Toast and my wife ordered the Cinnamon Swirl Pancakes and we both got bacon and coffees. The coffee is sooo good too. Make sure you get a cup to go also. I highly recommend this restaurant and I will go back again and again

First stop in New Orleans and will always be a breakfast/brunch spot when visiting! The food was on point and the flight was fun (and tasty). The staff was friendly and gave good advice about navigating town.

It was decent - not amazing. It was very cold and noisy in the restaurant. Our server, Walter was kind and attentive. Two of us shared the following for breakfast: - Gulf Shrimp Omelet w/ Grits and Buttermilk Biscuit - Side of Tater Tots - Side of Buttermilk Biscuit The coffee was a bit weak but it was hot. The cream was fresh. The omelet was really good. The tots were cooked crispy - just how we prefer. The buttermilk biscuit was disappointing. It looked great but was tough and chewy. I would return to the Ruby Slipper but I'd eat outside. Maybe have another omelet and the pancakes. The pancakes looked real good. -

Reserve or get on the waitlist early. The place definitely gets busy. We ended up ordering online and the food still wasn't ready by the time we arrived for pickup. Got the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit and a spicy chicken biscuit. The biscuits are great and pricing is reasonable.

This is the spot you want to be for a great brunch session. They have various restaurants all over. We ordered the Trifecta, Sweet Heat Chicken and French Toast Bites, and some Irish Coffee. The Trifecta is great since it lets you taste the 3 different specialties of benedicts. The Chicken St. Charles was my favorite of the 3. The Sweet Heat Chicken was great too! It had a nice kick to the sweetness but it was not overpowering. To wash it all down, an order of Irish Coffee, which was quite strong and pretty good as well. This is a nice spot although it can get packed during peak hours. The servers were quick in getting orders and cleaning off the tables. I would recommend this place for anyone that was a good brunch experience.

Nice little spot! Glad we had a reservation because it was packed with people waiting outside. The French toast bites were the highlight of the meal! Highly recommend

Had a great meal at The Ruby Slipper Café on Decatur Street. It was very busy when we went, but the service was still excellent -- our waiter was super attentive and walked us through the menu with helpful suggestions. The food itself was delicious and absolutely worth the wait. You can make reservations, which I'd recommend, but if you end up on the walk-in list there are plenty of cute shops nearby to browse. There's also another Ruby Slipper location just a short walk away if that one has a long queue.

Shannon W.

The food here makes my taste buds sing! Ruby Slipper was SO good that my group went twice. My first order was the peacemaker Benedict with the bayou shrimp and chicken. I wished I got just the shrimp as everything was perfect from the shrimp, flavor, and on top of the the BUTTERIEST biscuits ever The second time I ordered the shrimp and grits which was also delicious! It gets busy here especially in the weekends so making a reservation is recommended!

Melissa B.

A hearty brunch sets me up for the day and this place didn't disappoint! Enjoyed the eggs couchon and a mimosa inside the quaint brunch place. Friendly and attentive staff only made everything better!

Brandon M.

I know it's a chain restaurant, but the location was near the Aquarium, and the reviews made it a must for breakfast. We were seated immediately upon arrival and were delighted with the French toast bites for an appetizer. I had the trifecta, which is one of each of their signature egg Benedicts. My son had the Gulf shrimp omelette and grits. Both entrees were delicious. The trifecta is large and dense enough to be shared. Bar, booth, low-top casual dinner setting. Moderate noise. Clean with excellent southern service. Competitive prices. I would return.

Kyle and Misty my Waitress were both AMAZING! The food was absolutely phenomenal! Everything I ordered was a 10/10! Those pancakes were the best in the City in my opinion! I can't wait to go back! Thank you Kyle and Misty for your top tier hospitality! Do not leave New Orleans, LA, without trying Ruby Slipper on Decatur Street!

The food is really good but service was just ok. We waited almost an hour and a half to get in when online said the wait was 30min. Then once we got in our food took forever. Breakfast food is supposed to be fast. Once the food came we had a few orders that were ice cold and my food was missing the side I asked for and I never got my biscuit. The greeter outside is the highlight of the restaurant. She is friendly, funny and very good with people. The location on Magazine St. is much better even though there is usually a longer wait. read more

This was my first time here, but it will definitely not be my last. I had the mimosa flight, which was a generous portion & tasty. I had difficulty deciding what I wanted for my entree & Roni, our server, made an excellent recommendation. Roni was wonderful. People underestimate the skill it takes to be a good server, but it was immediately clear that Roni was not new to this. I cannot overstate what great service she provided. If I'm ever back at this particular location, I will be asking for Roni again. read more

Oh boy, here I go. I gotta tell y'all something kinda quick. And I gotta say it about a certain bartender by the name of Aerial. So I'll start off with, the eggs I got on the side (sunny) bright and sunny like her eyes. Friendly, warm and welcoming as was Aerials demeanor. Happiness is breakfast and she reminded me. Happiness is also a scientifically proven emotion evoked from breakfast. SHINE BRIGHT LIKE MY BREAKFAST. And she did. Aerial not the mermaid, but the lesser known impeccable bartender and some might say heroin. (Female hero, dum dums) her gorgeous face, is it the bold commitment and relentless hard work just to accommodate and relate to customers. I mean, just the way she rests a drink or plate against the table or bar so to speak, it's careful, it's mindful it's respect. All I know, leaving this place with a full belly completely satisfied and a fupa I can join a dr circle with I was over joyed. Aerial provided the experience I looked for in this city. Like if I was to enter another dimension I'd wish that Aerial was either my mom of best friend forever. Thank you Aerial, ya goddamned queen. I look forward to coming back on another Friday morning. Love, The Stoney stumbler. read more

French toast bites 2.5/5 Definitely good for someone who likes croutons because they were very crispy. I prefer my french toast to be fluffy and kind of soggy? so a matter of personal preference for sure. British was phenomenal and super friendly, but our waiter was not. Bald dude who definitely "needs a hug" as another user put it. Migas was good if you're a fan of egg heavy dishes, would recommend. 4/5 Pork on the eggs benedict (cochon) was the best of the trifecta. 4/5 The others were just okay. 2/5 Ambiance is great, wait wasn't bad and the waitlist texts came through with no issue. It's a bit noisy but it adds to the flair! Sad about our waiter because everyone else seemed really nice. Kind of disappointing because of the reviews, and because the menu looks so good. Wouldn't return for any reason other than the LOVELY British. 11/10 for her! read more

"Thank God the food is great" This is what the chaperone at the entrance told us after a long 45-minute wait We were not allocated a table afterwards because the waitress failed to grasp the concept of what a line is and informed us there was just a huddle of people She then proceeded to state the line was the other way where we stood in what one could say is at least rude and borderline offensive to post on Yelp As a result our long wait was disregarded and were back at the end of the line. We did not respond to the same token and headed to another of Ruby Slipper's amazing locations in New Orleans for a much more reasonable waiting time and lovely meal Long story short, Ruby Slipper at Decatur provides the single worst customer service that I have ever experienced for a breakfast / brunch in my life A must avoid. Would strongly recommend to head out to the location in Common Street - just 0.2 miles away - where food is delicious and staff is kind and courteous read more

Rude and impersonable hostess (brunette, with blonde highlights). Following a wonderful meal, in a torrential downpour - hostess would not allow our family to wait patiently for our rideshare inside the restaurant near the bar (with open seats), nor sit at our table. Hostess was cold, rude and ultimately was pulled aside by a more senior server to address the situation. Hostess failed to offer apology for her manner. read more

I checked in on the Yelp app and was seated with no issue after checking in again in person. Please get the filled French toast and know that you can customize things on the menu to your liking. I had the basic French toast and it was the best French toast I've ever had. Cooked to perfection with brioche bread and sprinkled with powdered sugar-served with 2 slices of bacon just because. Also had a peach bellini....delicious! And not skimpy on the serving either. This location was kind of small, but fun nonetheless. I liked the service which was super friendly-- our server chatted us up because he used to live in Cali where we were from. It was hot outside and this place has indoor/outdoor seating. We chose indoor to cool off from walking around outside. We chose to visit after our Natchez Jazz cruise which docked a short 5min walk away. I would say the beignets get really messy bc of the powdered sugar getting EVERYWHERE so I suggest having a napkin or two close by. I think beignets are best eaten right away while they're warm because I took some home on a plane after buying it at the airport and they were hard as a rock. I don't recommend. So if I'm ever back in NOLA, I need to come back!

The beignets were also sub par. I was disappointed in the lack of flavor. It really was just a piece of fried down with a mountain of powdered sugar on top. I was expecting their to be dipping sauces but there was not.

When it comes to breakfast and brunch spots in New Orleans, The Ruby Slipper on 204 Decatur is a true standout. As someone who has had their fair share of eggs benedicts, I can confidently say that this charming establishment delivers a dining experience that is nothing short of extraordinary. One of the highlights at The Ruby Slipper is their exceptional eggs benedicts. In particular, the Trifecta featuring three different variations of this classic dish left me in awe. Each benedict surpassed the last in terms of flavor and execution. The pièce de résistance was undoubtedly the perfect hollandaise sauce that graced each of the eggs. Its velvety texture and rich flavor elevated every bite to new heights of indulgence. But let's talk about the seafood. The Gulf shrimp benedict showcased the freshest, most succulent shrimp I have ever tasted. Their natural sweetness shone through, perfectly complementing the other components of the dish. And the fried chicken benedict? Well, the crispy chicken atop the benedict was a revelation. Its golden exterior gave way to juicy and tender meat, adding a delightful twist to this breakfast classic. What truly sets The Ruby Slipper apart is their unparalleled execution and ability to weave a captivating culinary tale through their dishes. The attention to detail is evident in every bite. The sauce accompanying the benedicts was flawlessly emulsified, striking the perfect balance of richness and tanginess. And let's not forget about the poached eggs--the yolks were a work of art, boasting an impeccable "jammy" consistency that added an extra layer of decadence. During my visit, my wife had the fried chicken and French toast dish. This creation showcased the restaurant's creativity and culinary prowess. The execution was flawless, and the French toast had a unique twist reminiscent of panzanella or French toast croutons. It was a delightful departure from the ordinary, leaving a lasting impression on our palates. The Ruby Slipper not only excels in culinary innovation but also provides impeccable service. The staff's attention to detail and genuine passion for their craft is evident from the moment you step through the door. The servers are knowledgeable, friendly, and go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. If you find yourself in the vibrant city of New Orleans, a visit to The Ruby Slipper is an absolute must. This gem of a restaurant seamlessly combines creativity, flawless execution, and exceptional service. Whether you're a local or a visitor, The Ruby Slipper is sure to leave an indelible mark on your culinary journey. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. read more

Title: A Culinary Gem with a Dash of Quirk: Ruby Slipper Cafe Review Nestled in the heart of New Orleans , Louisiana the Ruby Slipper Cafe offers a tantalizing fusion of flavors and a memorable dining experience that captures the essence of Southern cuisine. During a recent visit, I had the pleasure of indulging in their renowned biscuits and gravy, a dish that left an indelible mark on my taste buds. The biscuits and gravy at Ruby Slipper Cafe are a triumph of culinary artistry. The biscuits, baked to perfection, boasted a delicate balance of flakiness and tenderness. Paired with a rich and flavorful gravy that was a symphony of savory notes, this dish provided a hearty and comforting culinary encounter. The marriage of textures and taste was a true testament to the kitchen's dedication to quality and creativity. While the cuisine was undeniably a highlight, the service left something to be desired. Our waiter, regrettably, fell short of delivering the kind of attentive and polished service one might expect from an establishment of this caliber. However, amidst this minor setback, a shining star emerged in the form of Brian, a dishwasher with an infectious sense of humor. His presence injected a delightful touch of levity into the dining experience, turning what could have been a lackluster encounter into an unforgettable one. Brian's wit and charm resonated with patrons and provided a refreshing and unexpected layer of entertainment. In summary, the Ruby Slipper Cafe exudes an undeniable charm with its delectable dishes and quirky personalities. While the waiter's service left room for improvement, the true gem of the visit was the culinary artistry that graced our table. Furthermore, the unexpected joy brought forth by dishwasher Brian added an unexpected and memorable twist to our dining adventure. For those seeking a blend of Southern comfort food and a touch of lighthearted amusement, the Ruby Slipper Cafe is a destination well worth exploring. read more

As a devoted fan of the Ruby family, my expectations were sky-high when I stepped into the Ruby Slipper Cafe in New Orleans after my delightful experiences at their sister restaurant, Ruby Sunrise in Charleston, SC. I'm thrilled to report that the Ruby Slipper not only met but exceeded those expectations, firmly establishing itself as a #ThatBrunchLife essential. From the moment I walked in, the warmth of Southern hospitality enveloped me. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and an eagerness to make my dining experience memorable. The atmosphere was a cozy embrace, with a vibrant yet comforting decor that paid homage to the soul of New Orleans. The menu was a love letter to Southern cuisine with an innovative twist. Each dish I tried was a masterpiece, but the standout was their signature Eggs Cochon - a decadent masterpiece of slow-cooked apple-braised pork debris over a biscuit, topped with perfectly poached eggs and hollandaise. It was a symphony of flavors that danced harmoniously on the palate. Comparing it to Ruby Sunrise in Charleston, where the shrimp and grits reign supreme, the Ruby Slipper holds its own with distinctive flair and an unmistakable New Orleans charm. It's clear that both establishments share a commitment to quality, flavor, and an unforgettable dining experience. In every aspect, from the attentive service to the mouthwatering cuisine, the Ruby Slipper Cafe is a beacon of #ThatBrunchLife and Southern hospitality. Whether you're a local or just passing through, missing out on this gem would be a culinary crime. The Ruby Slipper isn't just a restaurant; it's a celebration of the spirit of the South, and I can't wait to return. read more

While visiting the Big Easy during Mardi Gras, I was in the mood for brunch. After visiting the Ruby Slipper a couple of times, knew it was time to go back. The Decatur location was closest to me & glad I went. There was a line & I was greeted at the host stand by Stanley. Stanley gladly took my name but I asked if there happen to be a spot at the bar for just one. He turned around & told me to wait a couple of minutes as he cleared me a spot. Sat me down quick with a smile. Was immediately acknowledged by one of the bartenders saying they would be right with me. Kelli & Jaylynn were working that day. Started my day with an Irish coffee & it truly hit the spot. It did take a moment for me to decide, but didn't feel rushed. Yes, Kelli & Jaylynn checked on me, but only to see if I was ready & encouraged me to take my time. After a couple of moment, I chose the southern breakfast. It was the fried green tomato that sold me. Yes, it was simple, but extremely satisfying. And, that fried green tomato, was better than expected. The service at The Ruby Slipper was outstanding. Our waiter, a terrific young gentleman, was attentive, professional, and stayed on his toes to make sure we had everything we needed. The decor was true to the restaurant's name--fun, vibrant, and welcoming. Other patrons were also very friendly, adding to the warm atmosphere. As for the food, I really enjoyed the Chicken Benedict--it was flavorful and satisfying. However, the Shrimp Benedict was a bit of a letdown, as it only came with three small shrimp, which felt underwhelming. My friend ordered the Salmon Omelette with grits and a biscuit, and they said it was absolutely delicious. Here's how we rated the dishes: Chicken Biscuit: 9/10 Shrimp Biscuit: 6/10 Salmon Omelette Plate: 9/10 Overall, while the service and ambiance were great, the menu didn't quite match my personal preferences--mainly because I don't eat pork, and I found the non-pork options somewhat limited. That said, I believe The Ruby Slipper has a lot of potential for those who enjoy its Southern-style offerings. read more

I recently dined at Ruby Slipper and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience. Although the food preparation took a while, the wait was well worth it as the food was absolutely delicious. From the appetizers to the entrees, every dish was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. I would highly recommend the food here. While the drinks were average, they were advertised as award-winning and amazing, which was a bit disappointing. However, this was a minor setback in an otherwise great dining experience. I was impressed with how easy it was to make a reservation and while the waitlist said it would be an hour, I only had to wait 30 minutes before being seated. The staff was nice and attentive, making sure my dining experience was enjoyable. The ambiance of the restaurant was also great - it had a comfortable and inviting atmosphere that was perfect for a relaxing meal. Ruby Slipper on Decatur Street is a fantastic spot for a hearty, Southern-inspired breakfast or brunch. The warm, lively atmosphere immediately sets the tone for a great dining experience, and the menu is full of indulgent options that showcase New Orleans flair. I came to New Orleans for a quick trip and was craving a good breakfast. After seeing glowing reviews on Yelp, TikTok, and hearing personal recommendations, I thought Ruby Slipper would be a great choice. However, I have to say, I was left a bit underwhelmed. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the diverse dining scene in Houston, but Ruby Slipper felt extremely basic and average. We ordered several things off the menu, and honestly, nothing really stood out. There was nothing particularly unique or memorable about any of the dishes we tried. It was all fine, but not impressive by any means. If you're in the mood for a quick, no-frills breakfast, Ruby Slipper could work, but there are definitely better and more unique breakfast spots around New Orleans that I'd recommend exploring. The food here just didn't offer anything special to make it stand out in a city known for its incredible food scene. read more

Ruby Slipper is a cute and cozy brunch spot with a Creole fusion twist, and overall, it was a great experience! I started with a creamy vanilla latte topped with nutmeg and whipped cream, which was delicious--just a bit sweeter than I usually prefer, but still really well made. For my main dish, I had the French toast with fried chicken, strawberries, and maple syrup. The flavors worked beautifully together, but it was definitely a heavy dish, and I wish there had been something like whipped cream or a light topping to balance it out. We also tried the catfish with grits, which was another solid choice. Overall, Ruby Slipper is a great spot for brunch, but just know that the dishes lean toward the rich and indulgent side. The Ruby Slipper Cafe is a breakfast and lunch spot in the heart of downtown. They have amazing food and fast service, so you can't go wrong with this place! They serve everything from omelets to waffles, and they're all made fresh right in front of you. The coffee is great as well--they use beans from local roasters, which makes it even more special. The food is very filling, so I recommend ordering one of their sandwiches or salads if you're looking for something lighter. But if you want something that will fill up your entire stomach, then this is definitely the place for you! The only downside? It didn't have no pork on it! you follow me & my reveiws ya'll know i don't do anybody's pig anything. *chef kiss* The outta line for giving this portion size. I'm tryna eat a little here & there- they filled butt up. Lol i see how it is!! Service, service, service. Jen was my server. She took really good care of me. For a tiny hole in the wall- I can't say I've had better. (It gave chickfila vibes.) Super pleasant, energetic vibes, the place legit caters to families, familes with small children, large groups. All of thoose where in there when I was in there. I had no complaints. A++++

Only ate my way through one beignet as it also comes with fried chicken, an egg, and a crawfish sauce that blew me away. Lemon blueberry pancakes were so dreamy. Up&Adam, NOLA! Somebody Come Roll Me Back to the Hotel!…read more Let's talk about it! At this point, I have officially lost count of how many times I've been to Up&Adam in New Orleans. And clearly, there's a reason I keep coming back! This time, it was me, my sister, and my two daughters, and baby, when I tell you I'm sitting here wondering who is going to roll me back to the hotel, I am NOT exaggerating! First, let's talk about the seating. We decided to sit outside, and I was pleasantly surprised to see they now have umbrellas! The last time I visited, they didn't have any, and although it was comfortable, that New Orleans heat was still doing its thing. This time, those umbrellas were definitely a must! Between the shade and that beautiful breeze, it was just perfect. Such a nice, quaint little atmosphere. Now, let's get into these MIMOSAS! The last time I was here, I couldn't decide which flavor I wanted, so of course I had to try more than one. This time, we decided to order a carafe for the table so everyone could enjoy. Delicious, as always! Now the FOOD! The food, the food, THE FOOD! I don't care how many times I come here or what I order, they just don't disappoint! One thing about me, I HAVE to get that Tchoupitoulas sauce! If it doesn't come with my meal, I'm ordering it on the side. That's how serious I am about it! This time, I decided to go with the French toast and scrambled eggs. Let me tell you, that French toast was AMAZING! Absolutely delicious! But apparently, that wasn't enough for my greedy self because I also decided I needed some cheesy grits. And let me tell you something, when you can eat grits with cheese and don't have to add a single bit of seasoning, YOU KNOW those grits are good! And these were freaking delicious! Now, as for everyone else, one of my daughters ordered the French Market Sandwich, and my sister went with the Uptown Adam Breakfast. My other daughter ordered the same thing I did, except she went with turkey sausage. Me? Oh no, I needed ALL my bacon! We all had something we enjoyed, and trust me, nobody was complaining! Listen, if you're ever in New Orleans, please do yourself a favor and stop by Up&Adam. It's a nice, quaint spot with a welcoming atmosphere and some seriously delicious food. And what I appreciate most is the consistency. I've been here more times than I can count, and the food never disappoints. Now, if somebody could just come get me and roll me back to my hotel, I'd greatly appreciate it because clearly, I have eaten enough for the rest of the day! Up&Adam, you already know I'll be back!
