Definitely recommend planning on getting a brunch cocktail around the corner, or doing online check in, well before you are actually seated. The wait is worth it; the food was phenomenal, the service even better. My table of 4 shared a shrimp and grits as a starter and then between the 4 of us ordered nearly every Bennie. You can tell there was care put on every plate. But truly. Above all the most phenomenal part of our experience was our server, Judit. Funny, charming, attentive and incredibly thoughtful. We all agreed she was one of the best servers we've ever had. What's even better, looking around the restaurant, you could see other servers engaging with other tables and everyone in the place was laughing. A truly great atmosphere. read more

This is the 1st time I made it to Ruby Slipper. There is always a long wait and for good reason. The food is delicious and service friendly. So many choices on menu. I had cochone Bennie and was so full but wanted to keep eating. Get there early. read more

Great place to visit if you don't live in New Orleans. The menu is full of so many good dishes, we couldn't choose one so we ordered a few and shared them all. Drinks are great and strong and the prices are reasonable. Would definitely visit again next time I'm in New Orleans read more

This place is amazing! Fantastic food and atmosphere. Judit was our server. She was so attentive, quick, and kind! Will be requesting her as our server every time we visit. read more

Unbelievably slow!!! Waitress took forever. We sat 25 minutes outside without even being asked if we wanted a water! I don't care how good the food is........the service needs desperate help! We went across the street to Coterie and sat at the bar. Served immediately and way better atmosphere. The food was amazing at Coterie as well. read more

The wait was ridiculous, but that's what happens when the food is good. We had a drink while waiting in line (nice touch of the restaurant asking us by the way), had the eggs Benedict sampler (which was pretty good and filling), and loved the ambiance. It was a very small place so plan accordingly! read more

Food was good, so was the service. The only negative I have is after a thirty minute wait they brought us to a community table without asking if that would be ok but they did quickly rectify the problem and we were seated at a table for two. read more

The Benedict was not as good as I expected. I think the restaurant is overrated on its Benedict and omelette. The service, however, is very warming. I love the lady at the door, especially. read more

Ruby Slipper Decatur - One Tomato, Two Tomato Benedict - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - New Orleans, Louisiana

Fantastic breakfast, we liked it so much we went there three days in a row. The online menu descriptions don't do it justice. Definitely join the Yelp waitlist before you go, then be prepared to wait about 15 minutes after you check in. This is not a large restaurant--the one on Magazine St. is bigger--and the food can take a while to come out. But the service is friendly and the wait is worth it. read more

You can NEVER go wrong at Ruby Slipper. The pumpkin seasonal beignets were a hit. The noise level is always a bit high but the wait time is worth it. Breakfast cocktails and fabulous Benedicts. The service is consistently good as is the food and the vibe. A great breakfast, all the way around read more

Service by Raymond was fantastic. Food came out piping hot and delicious. Definitely will come back and I highly recommend Ruby Slipper on Decatur. read more

Love everything about this place, we have to make a trip here every time we're in New Orleans

I cannot say enough good things about this quaint cafe. We went here twice on our recent trip to New Orleans and it was amazing. Everything we tried was delicious and we got our orders quickly. The staff was friendly and the bloody Mary's were amazing. I strongly suggest using the waitlist option so you get in faster. A must if you want a fabulous eating experience. read more

this place had great food and drinks, was obvs super popular. I HATE the Fail Army nonsense on the tvs. Why? Why watch people hurt themselves? Why watch people fail? Yuck. Bennies were dope tho read more

We had all had the peacemaker where you can choose what Benedict you want. Soooo good! The Bloody Mary was the best that we have had in Nola! Norman is such a great waiter; he is super kind and always made sure we were taken care of! Very good experience overall. Get a reservation ahead of time or you'll be waiting anywhere from fifteen to fifty minutes! read more

Avoid when a much friendlier Ruby Slipper option is just down the street. Family arrived looking forward to a nice brunch. We arrived at the podium and the manager gave us to-go instructions despite the fact we were there to dine in. A few minutes passed with no seating so we assumed self seating at that point. We started moving in that direction when the manager proceeds to instruct us as to what the podium was for! Not only condescending but exceptionally rude and we decided the Magazine Street location was a better option. Avoid this location unless you appreciate rudeness read more

One of the best breakfast I've ever had. The mimosa flight followed by the pick 2 Benedict's was incredible. Get there early or be expected to wait at least an hour to 2 hours but it was completely worth the wait! read more

Love it! Have Laura make you a Bloody Mary, and make it a double--with bacon! Now that's a respectable breakfast in the Big Easy! They serve a great menu as well! Try em--you won't be sorry. read more

This place is never a disappointment! My husband and I love breakfast/brunch restaurants and are very particular. We have not ever eaten anything less than fantastic here. (Their eggs Benedict's are positively divine!) read more

I would give it a 5 but my family disagrees. I enjoyed my food and I think the fact the food was unique to NO turned my family off. Enjoy. read more

First breakfast spot in New Orleans. Get on the wait list on yelp it'll help since wait times here can be close to an hour. We went around noon during week and it was still a wait. I had the peacemaker. Mix and match 2 Benedicts I got Eggs Cochon and chicken St Charles. Both were good but I enjoyed the Eggs Cochon best. The chicken was tender but I felt it lacked some flavor. Service was not horrible. The waitress was not that personable so that lowered the overall score for review. Still recommend you visit any of the locations when in town. read more

Ruby Slipper Cafe was a highlight of my New Orleans visit. I HIGHLY recommend using Yelp to check yourself in on their guest list to cut down your wait time. It gets very crowded! It is tight quarters but with vibrant decor. We ordered an "award winning" Instagram-worthy Bloody Mary. I got the Ruby Mimosa, a RSC specialty with orange juice, pomegranate and champagne. Super refreshing after a hot walk to the Cafe. I went straight to the Benedict's section of the menu. I wanted to try two, so I got the Chicken Saint Charles and Eggs Cochon. I was most excited for the Chicken Saint Charles, but the Eggs Cochon was my favorite! This is a staple breakfast of New Orleans and definitely a trip highlight. read more

Great food and nice place. The biscuit and gravy was very good. We have eaten here before and will during future visits

Checked in on-line, showed vaccine card. We we're told to wait to the side. After she repeatedly told us to step to the side because we had a party of 7, we decided to wait across the street, literally looking at her. We waited for over an hour, checked back with host who told us she never saw us waiting and removed us from the list. No organization, no clue what she's doing. Repeatedly says, "I got you boo", only thing she got is rudeness. Was really looking forward to eating here. I'll be sure to pass on the service experience. read more

After 4 trips to NOLA, I finally had the chance to try the Ruby Slipper. I came around 8:15 on a Friday morning and there was no wait. I decided to go with The Southern Breakfast. There was nothing impressive about the meal. The grits were salty and soupy, but hot. The scrambled eggs were a generous portion. The bacon was cooked perfectly and had a good taste. The biscuit was huge and fluffy, but cold. I hate cold biscuits. The butter they serve is pretty tasty and goEs well with the biscuit, but it never melted because they the biscuit was cold. The fried green tomatoes were good and seasoned well, but again served cold. I'm assuming they cook the biscuits and fried green tomatoes ahead of time and just add them to the plate. read more

The food was a standout but it was our waiter who made the experience so memorable. He was friendly and incredibly efficient. I'm sorry I didn't get his name but it was Monday 6/13 around 8 am in the booths. With crazy times and hard to find help he was such a nice change - knowledgeable, fast and nice. Please know you have a gem! The food was fresh, tasty and plentiful. Highly recommend though you will need to wait because it's popular! read more

Are there twice during my stay. Food is excellent service good too. The biscuits are homemade and amazing.

I have been to the ruby slipper in Charleston and New Orleans. It's a great food spot for breakfast and drinks with a group of friends!

Food is delicious. We came here twice on our trip. The seasonal beignets are fabulous. And the crawfish and grits is yummy. I also liked the cochon Benedict. (Can't remember the name). There's a reason it's always busy. You won't regret coming. read more

Great food and good service. There is usually a long wait but you can join the online waiting list on its website and they'll text you usually a few minutes before your table is ready. We stayed at a hotel less than a block away and we're easily able to be at the restaurant within 2 minutes. That's a great service! Ruby Slipper is a must when visiting New Orleans. read more

The hostess was so nice and sat us right away, our waiter was so friendly and very caring! We had conversations about other things in our life, which made breakfast more enjoyable! Very very good. We were in a bit of a rush for an early flight and came early before it was too full- I get the sense it gets busy here. Coffee- good- some places have a great breakfast ruined with coffee that tastes like it was dripped through yesterdays filter of grinds. Not here. The biscuits and gravy were awesome- like go out of your way for the biscuits good. The gravy also wasnt sink to your stomach in grease/ super floury. Robust flavor. I should have gotten my breakfast sandwich with brioche vs sourdough- better fit- but it was good nonetheless .Breakfast potatoes were perfectly crispy and hot ( weirdly half the places I have been to in life they are like a cold served afterthought) Staff all smiles- they actually seem to like their job and it shows in service read more

Good food. French toast bites were the star of our breakfast. Long lines. Get on the well managed list.
