This place is absolutely amazing. It makes my mouth water just thinking about their steaks! Highly HIGHLY recommend going here for dinner.

I ordered TOGO drive 25 min to get (2) 12 oz NY strips one medium rare on medium well and shrimp..no problem right? WRONG they didn't even cook it! The other they over cooked. WTF? I call they happen to be closing I ask for a refund. They say sorry we can give you coupons in envelope in the back next time you come. OK fine. I go Order to go again same order 1 week later. I tell them I have a envelope. They try and give me a 10 dollar coupon. I am like I should have for 2 steaks..thats 40+ bucks..They are sorry since we cant find it this is all we can do? WTF? Girl comes out with part of my order..Charging me full price. I say no I should have 2 steak credited..she goes I will my manager take it off , she comes back sorry we can only give you have off.. But half off is 40 dollars??WTF again..I am no math wiz. at that point ..I am so pissed off cause my food is getting cold.. I pay it.. my 25 min supposed wait for food was a 40 to begin with.. and I am missing the second steak from my order .. she has to go find it .. I get home finally and I am missing my second side .. once again my steak is cooked wrong..this place is a skip the manger and staff have no idea whats the hell is going on and how to serve people or cook steak.. PROVO location to be exact. I am not into flaming people .. but now I am going to post a picture of the steak the was supposed to be medium rare... the picture speaks for it's self. The aesthetics of the place are very pleasing and could just expect great flavor and service upon walking in. And yes everything was great! Only if you like absolutely no salt or seasoning on everything besides the steaks. Which I had the garlic peppered ribeye which was spectacular. The sides however have no seasoning and flavor enhancements as in my opinion, asparagus, onions and mushrooms should!! Overall I'd for sure eat there again but bring my spice cabinet with me to add some flavor. read more

Best steaks in Provo! We are visiting from California and this was our best dinner. Our server Ammon was wonderful! He provided great service and made outstanding recommendations on food items. I am not a huge steak fan, so I can't comment on what they are known for. However, their grilled salmon is good, their sweet potatoes delicious and their wedge salad to die for- I get it every time! So, when I Provo, I will be back for that super cold and delicious wedge salad. read more

Great steak, loaded baked potato- try the raspberry crem brûlée ! Service was on point - our waiter, Brett was attentive and always smiling.

I had the calamari - not bad, but not the best either. The bourbon bacon burger, on the other hand, was excellent. The beef was not overcooked to a hockey puck, the bacon super crunchy as it should be! The fries were too oily, however, and tasted like the calamari (deep fried in the same oil??). The dessert, so yummy good: triple chocolate raspberry mousse! Our waitress was a real sweetheart. great service, wonderful attitude! She didn't know how to open a bottle of wine, so we did it for her, which made her even more endearing that she didn't try to pass it off as if she knew. read more

Made reservation through Open Table when I got there no reservation. They had big party coming so they couldn't give me a table. I guess a party of five isn't big enough. Told me they could only give me booth. Five guys in a booth doesn't work. I could have a table as long as I was done in less then a hour because that is when their BIG PARTY is coming in. Long tome fan of RR never had a bad meal or bad service at the SLC and Sandy location, that changed last night in Provo. The food was great but the service was terrible, took forever to get our sodas they came out with the salad. The after a long wait and not seeing our waitress I took our glasses to the bar and asked for a refill. The bar tender said he would be right over he never came they brought two of the three of us refills with the food but didn't stick around to see if we even liked the food , I again returned to the bar and spoke again to the bar tender who seemed to be flirting with our waitress that we are still waiting for refills. The waitress said she would bring it over, when she finally did we asked for the manager....... Guess who shows up as the manager the guy at the bar that was flirting with our waitress and I asked him twice for refills. How can you expect your employees to do a good job when the manager is setting such a good example He did offer to comp our drinks, I took the time to point out that I was still waiting for my steak soup, he wanted to know if I still wanted it. I had already finished my dinner and spent two hours waiting for them I said no. When they did bring the bill he did comp the entire meal which we told them they didn't need to do but thanks and the waitress could still only make excuses on why it wasn't her fault she was so slow Sorry for making it so wordy we love RR and will continue to go there but not the one in Provo read more

We had a party of 14 on a Sunday night. We had to wait a bit for a table because they were busy and there were so many of us. No big deal. We had one server, Sammy who was great! She got our drinks, Took our orders and no mistakes. She served us quickly with no problems. Gave us refills on whatever we wanted. We had 4 or 5 separate checks and she had no problems with that either. Food was really good, we were all happy. Prices were great, way more reasonable than California. Drinks were even decent price. The River Tea was very good. The state of Utah's alcohol rules are a little weird, but hey I am from CA and just about anything goes here. I would highly recommend Ruby River Steak House. And if you get Sammy as a server, you won't be sorry. read more

This turned out to be a very bad experience. Long wait to get in, outrageously loud country music obliterating any chance of conversation with your dining companions, lower grade strip steak ruined by an artificial flavoring we were unable to identify, but rendered it virtually inedible ( we both left half of the expensive meat uneaten). and mediocre sides of creamed spinach, 'garlic' mashed potatoes, and sautéed mushrooms with another unidentifiable flavoring. We drove from San Diego and are staying at Marriott Fairfield in Provo Utah. The hotel is very nice along with Front Office Manager Jacob Bowler. We asked him for his opinion of best restaurant in Provo. He suggested Ruby River Steakhouse. He was spot on. The food was high quality and well prepared. We ordered the ribeye steaks with Caesar salad and wedge salad. Both were fresh. We also had a yam and baked potato. Both were cooked properly. The steaks were cooked the way we asked and were tasty and tender. The free peanuts and bread were very good too. Our waitress Stacy was very sweet and efficient. She kept checking on us and our food was served quickly and piping hot. We are so glad we ate here and will definitely return when in the area. read more

I went there on a Thursday night didn't take long and we were seated. The staff was super friendly. The server was amazing. I ordered a steak it was overcooked I ordered it medium and it was well done. Super dry. The server offered to have the cook make a new one but i didn't say yes to that cause it would have probably been overdone again.the server did take a couple bucks off so that was nice of her. But hubbys dish was the skewers and it was done perfectly. The other food items tasted great. Maybe the cook was having an off night. Hopefully when I go back the steak turns out better. The jacketed yam is worth the stop all by itself. Then throw in the steaks and the poppers and you're in heaven! We usually go with the New York, Filet, or the Smothered Chicken. Disgusting. Our food was either cold and hard, or cooked incorrectly so when the kitchen brought back the steaks, they were so hot the grease was spitting on everyone at the table. Waitress would not leave us alone, taking our drinks away and refilling them even after a few sips. The kids menu was a joke, and the kitchen refused to make a small adjustment for my daughter. We went to Ruby River in Provo for our anniversary dinner. I had read mixed reviews, so didn't know what to expect. At first glance, it is a basic Western themed steak house, similar to Texas Roadhouse or Longhorn. The service was very good and the food was also. I had the Rib Eye and my wife the Prime Rib. We were both satisfied with our meal. I saw several items on the menu that I would try. I think we will return, although a bit inconvenient from where we live. read more

The food here is everything Texas Roadhouse wishes it were, imo. First of all, the complimentary sourdough bread was impressive and I really enjoyed the appetizers. I came with a big group and we got a couple of Ruby Samplers. The Browning Onion was perfectly made, and I loved the red jalapeno poppers. I got the house-made root beer, which wasn't very sweet and was strong on the root beer flavor, but not too much, and I really enjoyed it. Our server was very attentive and kept our drinks full. For my entree I got the ribeye with a cinnamon yam for the side. The ribeye was on par for what I expected, and the yam was fantastic. I decided to finish things off with a raspberry creme brulee and my wife got the apple cobbler, which were both very good, but they were both big enough that we should have just gotten one to share. read more

Perhaps a step above Sizzler but not a very big step. I view Ruby River as a Mid level steakhouse with an affordable price of $13.00 to $17.00 a plate for a variety of 8 oz. steaks. This place was recommended by my daughter ... We were looking for a steak house and didn't want Outback, even though it's my favorite , I wanted something different since we were in town for the weekend.. So we dinned at RR , we ordered their version of the blooming onion, I'll give it 2 stars, it was ok, it was bland, no wow factor .. Won't order it again.. For dinner I ordered the 7oz filet mignon med. rare with a side of asparagus.. Now the filet had the W O W factor I was looking for. It was so tender and juicy you could cut it with a fork, very flavorful, cooked to perfection, my son had the steak dip, it too was tender and so full of meat he couldn't finish it, and this boy can eat.. He ended up taking the other half back to his dorm, dad had the NY steak and baked potato , again the steak was super tender juicy and tons of flavor, hardly any fat as most NY steaks tend to have, his baked potato had some buttery crust on the outside , we couldn't figure it out but it took a boring potato to a whole new level.. It was awesome.. Sorry I can't remember our servers name but she was friendly and attentive , she definitely earned her 20% gratuity .. We'll be going back for more in the future .. I came here for dinner, traveling from out of state and I got the fish and chips with broccoli. The meal also came with bread. The food was pretty good but definitely could have some room to grow. The only thing I would say is that the food wasn't as flavorful as it could have been. This included the bread and butter, the broccoli and the fish. As stated on the menu, the broccoli was cooked with garlic but I couldn't really taste it and was served in a dish of water. The fish was pretty good but had a a strong greasy flavor and the tarter sauce was bland. Something that was pretty good was the fries. They were crispy and had a good taste. All together the experience was pretty good. We only waited for about 10 minutes at 4 on a Saturday. The booths were pretty clean but the lamps on the wall next to them were very dirty and I didn't really enjoy eating next to them. The waitress was really nice and tended to us a lot. All around the experience was good and I would probably come here again if I ever visit here again. read more

Came here 2 nights before my wedding with out of town family. I had read some reviews a few years ago and was sceptical, but was pleasantly surprised. I had a 12oz with blue cheese and a jacketed yam. Portions were huge (2 meals for me), service was pretty decent, a bit of a wait, but the food made up for it. Avoid. We were staying in the area, seven of us decided to try this place because it was within walking distance and they serve beer. They weren't very busy (maybe 1/3 tables full?), but it took 10 minutes to seat us, with no one else in the waiting area. Our server was nice enough but had no idea what she was doing. We ordered and it took at least 15 minutes for salads. Another 15 for dinner. The Black and Blue burger was dripping in blue cheese DRESSING. Steaks were so-so. The lighting was so bad we had to use a phone to read the menu, decor is very dated, and the country music is so loud everywhere it was hard to hear. Had to ask server three times for one thing. Tickets (only two) were wrong when they came. I've never had a great meal at any restaurant attached to a hotel, and this was no exception. Next time I'll vote no! read more

Awful, plain and simple. I ordered the parmesan crusted halibut. It was a sin what they did to that dish. The parmesan was broiled onto the halibut and was a thick rubbery coating. The halibut was dried out like shoe leather. I ordered steamed brocolli as a side, it was barely steamed and hard as a rock. Stick with the steak, husband's sirloin was decent. The waitress was extremely unpolished, she literally snorted through her nose and stomped off when I said I didn't want anything to replace the hard as a rock broccoli (my palate was ruined by then and I was seriously wanting to be gone by then). This place is pretty proud of their menu (price wise). Seriously you would be much better off going to a less expensive chain steakhouse. read more

We looked into this place which is really just a cowboy bar with dim lights and loud music. It appeared gritty and the decor was pretty grubby so we choose the Sizzler Restaurant across the street and had a wonderful steak dinner. The Sizzler was perhaps one of the best steak restaurants I have eaten in in Utah. read more

I eat here all the time because the food is usually great. The service the last several times I have been in is TERRIBLE! The waiters never check on you after your meal is served, we had to flag him down to get water refilled, and then again when someone in our party needed something. We were a party of four, paying two checks and we each had a coupon for a free appetizer. He told us the we could only use one coupon per table...whatever but that's stupid when you have two separate checks. We are usually good tippers, at least 20% or more if the service is fantastic, but this guy got 10% and my husband regretted that after. We will head up to Flemings in SLC the next time we want a good steak. That way we will have great food AND service! read more
