I'm disappointed. I like the like people always friendly and greeted with a smile. I got my nails done with a fill a gel top coat less than a week the gel started peeling off. I work in the medical field so I can't have this. I went back to the salon exactly a week later and showed them my nails and they said pick out a different color. I had 3 nails where the color had peeled off. One of the nails the corner had broke off which I had not noticed. The tech said he would fix no problem his words. Upon examining he put more filling on two more finger nails that had not broke. Um okay. The manager took over and proceeded to put the new color on. I was charged $30 when it was their product that had peeled off less than a week. I've never been to a salon that would charge for a failed product in all the years I've had my nails done. We went to Ruby's as a group of four ladies. We made appointments for our pedicures and arrived on time. Our attendants were ready to go and all were seated together to visit. My attendant was wonderful but, obviously new and took longer. My daughter and niece had great attendants that were chatty and friendly. My poor sister had an attendant that was constantly on her Apple Watch /iPhone throughout her whole pedicure. I watched as she would get a notification on her watch, then she would stop her pedicure and respond quickly with texts. It happened throughout her whole pedicure. My sister at one point- pointed out a flaw on the paint and the girl barked at her that she wasn't finished yet. I felt badly since it was my idea to come for pedicures while I was in town visiting- so I paid for everyone's pedicures. I'm sorry to give a lower score than I would like to give- my service and two others were good- but, the poor service and attitude of the attendant my sister had kinda ruined the whole experience for all of us. I have been coming here off and on for the last couple years. I have had several different staff over that time and I have always had a great experience. They are detailed, professional, and take the time to make sure everything looks perfect. Today was my first time having Anna do my nails. It is one of the best manicures I have ever had! They look great and she was so meticulous with each nail. I have also had Tony several times and he does a great job as well. I wish I could remember more names but as I said, they have all been wonderful. In response to the review about using the dremmel tool to remove shellac, I actually prefer that to the chiseling process most salons use. They are very skillful at removing the old polish and gently smoothing the nail with it. I hate when I go to a place and they chip away at the polish and file the nail surface like crazy. It usually ends up with the nail peeling and looking lumpy. Not here. Every time I go to a different salon, I always end up comparing it to here. I have always heard great things and decided to take my daughter for a walk in. I paid 35$ for one of the worst basic 'Deluxe ' manicures i have ever had. I never opt for color. Only buffed nails. The amount of time spent on the massage was less then 5 mins on both hands...and that's being generous on the time. No oil was used. Just a small amount of lotion. No scrub. Nothing that would have explained the 35$ price tag. Hands down, the worse one. Daughter opted for French tip. Her deluxe gel manicure had oil. Lotion. And a much better massage. But...she has nail polish on her hands. Her gel started bubbling. And, my 16yo said the woman was rushing and kept nipping her skin. She now has little sores around her nail bed. She was very disappointed in the final look of her nails. 50$ for her. Do yourself a favor, and don't waste your money. read more

Had the best mani pedi of my life today! Lee gave me the most incredible pedicure, she was very thorough and took her time, I have never felt more pampered in my life! Everything was perfect, and I highly recommend the calf massages with the hot stones! I will be coming back to her again soon! My receipt said one amount while my bank statement said a complete different amount (about a 20 dollar discrepancy which was NOT the tip) When attempted to resolve the issue, I was ignored, hung up on and met with very rude customer service. After 6 phone calls with the salon that went nowhere, I went straight to my bank to resolve this issue. I'm really disappointed by the service I received. This was my first time in this nail salon; I went in on Sunday 12/23 for a gel manicure and at first I was very impressed by the cleanliness and overall look of the salon - it honestly is a beautiful salon. Firstly, the nail tech who worked on my nails cut my cuticle pretty bad. I've experienced being nicked a little or pinched, but this guy really took a good piece of skin off and it HURT. When I mentioned to him that he had hurt me no apology was offered, all he told me was, "Don't worry" as he doused my throbbing finger with a green liquid and then sprayed it with alcohol (ouch). Second, I don't think I received a full manicure at all. I already have pretty short nails, but they were not cut not filed at all. He also did a pretty sloppy job of painting my nails and missed a lot of the sides. Lastly, it's only been 2 days since I had my nails done and they're already chipping and lifting. This was a gel manicure, which I've had done in other salons many times, and typically they last me 2+ weeks before they even start chipping. I'm vacationing, so you know I'm not doing anything laborious like digging or construction work that would damage my nails. Honestly, I'm just very disappointed and upset over this experience. Ugh. I really really wanted this to be a good experience. I hate leaving negative reviews. I went in for a pedicure, upgraded to their deluxe pedi which was $35. It included a leg scrub, hot wax, hot stone massage, hot towel, etc. The "normal" things you'd expect with a deluxe pedi. The lady who did my pedicure was very nice. We chatted a bit. Aside form the verbal pleasantries, it was just bad. She cut two nails that I said not to because they grow weird and it hurts. She scrubbed all the leg scrub on just my shins, which burned. The towels nearly burned my feet because they were so hot, and made my shins sting from where the scrub scratched me up. She hardly cut my nails and they're all uneven, which were long because I was overdue getting them done. My cuticles weren't trimmed. She bounced back and forth from one nail to another random one. Nothing was done in order or with a purpose. She would just touch a nail with a a tool then move on to another. The absolute worst thing about all of it, was that she cut the corners of my nails at angles and "attempted" to pull up bits along the sides, but didn't. So she just cut triangles off the corner and left sharp slivers down the sides, which will inevitably give me ingrown toenails. My nails are thing and grow more curved than flat, so "rounding" the corners is a really really bad idea. And the paint job was mediocre at best. She got a lot on my skin but went back with a brush and polish remover to fix, but it still was very messy looking. I really wanted to have a great experience, the salon is beautiful and clean. But it really really missed the mark. I won't be going back read more

I hesitated to write this as I know negative reviews are really hard on businesses especially right now. However, I wanted to pass along my feedback about my one and only visit to this nail salon as a note of concern for anyone considering visiting. I live local and my go-to salon had to close unexpectedly due to a Covid-19 scare so I thought I'd give Ruby Nails a try. I made an appointment on a Wednesday afternoon. It was very quiet when I arrived, just one customer, and I was taken immediately. They have a nice selection of polish and gel options by relatively good brands. The salon appeared to be clean and while my temperature wasn't taken and I didn't sign any sort of waiver (as I have done at other salons) it did seem clean and safe. The largest reason for my rating was the manner in which the gel on my nails and toes was removed and the end result when polish/gel was applied was not good. I've had gel for years and know that beyond a light sanding the gel should be soaked off - period. This gal basically used her Dremel sanding tool to remove it all and did a poor job at that. On my toes I let it slide as I figured it may not have mattered much, but she did the same on my fingers. She did stop and put a piece of acetone soaked cotton on for a minute, but then proceeded to just sand it all off. The salon did have a couple people arrive by this time so my assumption is she was rushing on my fingers? This doesn't explain why she did it on my toes as the shop was still very quiet. The sanding left my nails feeling thin and fragile and obviously the polish application was not good as a result. I did a standard polish on my toes as the weather was good enough to allow me to wear flip-flops to the car. When I looked carefully you can tell that she didn't get all the former color off and basically just applied the polish on top. It's clearly shown on the sides of nearly all my toes. I had on a charcoal grey polish when I arrived and selected a true red so you can really see the old polish left behind. My hands, I had gel applied, again, it was sanded off and not done well. The gel, while applied neatly needed another coat as it looked pretty patchy. Beyond that, probably half of my fingers have some sort of bubble or bumps, resulting from the remaining gel left behind. I am a week in and nothing has chipped, but I wear mine very, very short so I'm not too surprised by that. The staff was extremely nice and I did think about returning to ask to have it fixed. However, knowing this isn't my regular salon and reading how many were treated when voicing complaints I opted to just let it go. I definitely won't return and am sad about this as it's such a convenient location. They do have you purchase a personal nail kit for $3, which other than the file, the tech didn't use. Sort of seems wasteful, particularly now, during COVID when they really shouldn't be re-using anything let alone using something a client has brought in to the shop. In any event, a disappointing experience here at Ruby Nails. I would caution anyone with gel that this may not be the salon for you if you're hoping to maintain the health of your nails. read more

Your first appointment you get a nail kit (only $3) then just bring it in every time. I've never made an appointment and normally go in at opening so I don't have to wait.
