I have been going here for 20 years. Karen's nails is a no frills nail and pedicure salon. I don't need to drink wine while having my nails done. Kim has been my tech all these years. My nails are always beautiful and she gets them done in 30 minutes! Why would anyone want to spend an hour getting your nails done and pay $70 for it? I pay $45 with tip. Nails and toes are under $100! It's all the same process, so why pay $70 plus for nails every 2 weeks? I'd rather show off those nails at a nice dinner or a trip to the beach. The pedicures are always good. Again, no frills. No scented sugar rubs, but the chair massage is nice and again I'm not spending $70! I've tried other salons. One tech takes the polish off, another preps and yet another applies the polish. I'm not paying everyone a tip! No way!! I return to Karen's nails because of the quality and the 3 techs are just really nice gals. If you are looking for a good no frills get in and out salon try Karen's nails. I live in Battle Ground now and I still make the trip every 2 weeks. read more

Literally not even close to what I asked for even when I showed her a picture. She told me multiple times to "not watch her" and made it awkward. She made me bleed. And when we were done she said "Do you like it? I just don't know why you would like black." Does it matter? I'm paying you to do a certain style.. you would think you would keep your opinion to yourself when you are getting paid for a service... lastly, I asked for black claw style nails.. she did the weirdest round shape, nothing close to the picture I showed her. This place is EXCELLENT! The quality of their work is absolutely outstanding. I come up from Portland just to have Betty work on my nails. I don't even tell her what I want - she comes up with great designs that I constantly receive compliments on. I've had other ladies work on my nails there as well who also do a great job. I tried to find a place local to me, but no one compares to how great a job everyone did at Karen's, so now I drive up every so often to have them work on my nails. Worth every mile. read more

So it was a nice cloudy day in Vancouver and I just felt like going in to get my nails done. I've always heard great things about this nail salon so I wanted to go in for myself to check it out. The lady that did my nails was Betty (she won't disappoint you) lovedddd how she did my nails, and I really enjoyed how she really cares about her costumers. I had my natural nails painted with gel polish. She shaped my nails to the coffin shaped I really loved! She did it without an ease. She made it look so easy. I came last minute and did not have to wait at all, they got me right in and with a technician which was great. The service and final nail product was amazing but the reason for the 3 star was that I asked what their price for a regular manicure was, she responded that it was $25 and $30 for gel when in fact it was only $15 for a regular manicure after asking upon exit. I think the miscommunication was in the language barrier but was frustrated leaving because all I really wanted was a manicure and ended up paying double. read more

Wanted to update my review... The first few times were great, but the last 2 times I came, I was so disappointed. That last time just confirmed for me that I will never come here again. I get so frustrated when I come in and ask for something and she always tries to get me to do fake nails bc she thinks they look "better" longer. While that may be true, I absolutely hate fake nails and after all, I am the one paying for the service, so I should be able to get what I want without her trying to sell me on something else. I understand her offering once, but after that, I don't want to hear it again. Another thing she did the last 2 times was ask what color I want without giving me samples to choose from. So I ended up showing her a picture and she just chooses something "similar" to the color. Which always ends up being completely different then what I asked for. Just goes to show she does not really care if her clients like their nails, just wants them out asap so she can get to another person in. Please remember to give clients what THEY ask for NOT what you "think" looks better. read more

I was so extremely impressed by the time and service done on my toes for my pedicure. They absolutely do not exaggerate on 5 stars. My mom has been going here for quite a while and one day brought me in and can I just say I've never had such excellent service. The ladies were truly incredible and such great long quality work. Toes she like have a seat then she proceeded to put boath hande in a bowl of acetone I am like no it bad to do that it a chemical it long turm will cause nerve damage so (don't let them do this to you! ) i work with chemicals we wear gloves then i said get out the foils and little peaches of cotton do it right she had and attitude she rap my finger and a costumer cam in said I book and appointment with you at 11 that said no and she pointed at secudal I am right ther she said come back at 12 she said no I have doctors appointment she told me we take your polish off you come back later I pull foils off and said no and I left that only had 1 lade doing nails and one lady just standing around doing nothing I left bad place and bad customer relations. I know most people that get work done on their nails are women, but I'm a man and I came in here to have a manicure one time, and although the job they did was not completely unfortunate, they clearly wanted to get it done as quickly as possible and get me out the door. I may not be a regular customer, but the results of their work don't motivate me to become one. My cuticles were not well manicured and there was a lot of dead skin around my nail beds. These things were noticeable enough to me afterwards that I considered going somewhere else to have them clean up the mistakes as I no longer had confidence in this place. The buff polish they did on my nails was only shiny in the middle of the nails and not across the entire nail side to side or up to the cuticle. To get them to even polish them in the way I wanted them to, I had to repeat myself and felt like I had to talk them into doing it in the first place as they wanted to do something else that wouldn't produce the results I was looking for. Prior to this, they didn't buff my nails properly because I still was left with rough ridges near my cuticles. Not every aspect was absolutely terrible, but I was definitely not impressed and I won't be returning. Although I'm a man, I take pride in my appearance and I want aestheticians to take their time, have great attention to detail, and to be patient with my attention to detail and the subsequent requests I make. Yes, even as a man, I see these details, I want the workers to slow down a bit -- it's not a race, and I want to be pampered and treated well, too. I mean, this is a luxury, after all, right? It's supposed to be enjoyable, not just duty. It's easy to sense aestheticians who want to rush you out the door because they're feeling irritable, aren't taking pride in what they're doing, don't want to be there that day, or think just because the customer is male, that men won't care and so they don't have to take time to do a superb job. When I come across people like that, I just don't return. I take my business and my money elsewhere and then leave reviews like this. Perhaps they do a fantastic job with their female clientele, but apparently, they don't treat their male clients with the same level of service, respect, and attention to detail, and that's a shame. read more

This is by far the ABSOLUTE BEST NAIL SALON to come to! Betty is my normal go to, but you can't go wrong with any of these ladies! They always provide newness with what's trending and in season, while offering favorite products! I have NEVER had a bad experience here or left dissatisfied. They are quick and efficient with their work, extremely clean salon, with very reasonable prices. They create a personable atmosphere, which makes you feel right at home.
