5 Stars!! Ruby gave me the most thorough back and body massage I've ever had! If you are used to the reflexology massages, this is completely different because here, for a little bit more than what you pay for at the other "reflexology" massages you will get a thorough shoulder to arms to hips to backside to legs to feet systematic massage with choice of pressure. Bonus Feature is the cuppings or hot stone massages. At first the cuppings were scary but my body felt so much better afterwards. Than you get flipped over and that's where the real stretching of your bony begins.. from your head-face massage to your neck popping to the arms,fingers and stretching of the legs and back. OMG!! My body hadn't felt that good and loose in such a long time! Only downside, although it would be nice...not everyone massages the same amazing way so make an appointment. read more

Wow!!! Where to even begin?! Ruby relieved any and all tension, sinus pressure, headache and stress in 1 hour. Her awareness of the human body is astounding and I am left feeling light as a feather and beyond amazed! My advice is to completely trust in her and allow her to do her work. Let me start by saying the five stars is WELL DESERVED. I asked for Ruby and not only is she so sweet she's VERY thorough which I can't be more than happy with! I came down with a cold and haven't been feeling well and it's been making my body ache so much, she asked if there was any spots I wanted her to work on, asked if I wanted light/med/heavy hand, she made sure throughout the massage that I was okay and if anything hurt to just let her know - which it didn't. I feel so much better from head to toe. SOO MUCH BETTER. After the first few minutes, she went straight into my most tensed and knotted areas which is mostly my upper back, she took her time and checked every now and then that she wasn't putting too much pressure. What can I say from the bay to the capital of state I've Found a super Great spot to get the most professional and relaxing Massage at Ruby Massage & S.p.a. in south Sacramento. Ruby has Hands of a Goddess I've never felt so relaxed and comfortable in my life and I am 29 and I lift patients all day long at skilled Nursing Facility. I needed to find a place that does prenatal massage and I'm glad I stumbled across this place. The massages they give are phenomenal and there's no other place that can beat their prices as well. I've been coming in for the full body massage in a private room and been coming out of this place feeling more relaxed and less tense. They really focus on your knots and pressure points. If you get a full body massage for 1 hour, they advertise that it comes with a complimentary hot stone massage or cupping. You will not be disappointed if you decide to give this place a try! Last week I just happen to be going to a store across the street and saw that they had a new massage parlor in town. This place is about 15 miles away from my house but I did look at them online and I decided to give them a try and I am so happy that I did. I called and booked appointment and arrived about 15 minutes early and was taken in right away. The place itself is not in the most desirable neighborhood but once you're inside you do feel safe. I loved that they have room with the lights that change color inside. My massage therapist Linda was beyond exceptional. Her hands felt as if they were blessed by God. She really took her time and seemed like she enjoyed her job. She asked if everything was ok and was open to any suggestions that I may have . She really took her time . Excellent service at a good price . The hit stones that she used was a really nice touch. She really worked with them . I have had hot stones massages before that no way near compared to this one. I have Already booked a apt with her in a few weeks . This will replace my old massage parlor. read more

I been here since they first open, ruby is a great therapist ! She hits all the spots and know exactly what she is doing. However my review is not on ruby herself, but her worker. She was pressing on me too hard which I ask her to go softer, she ended up just seem like rubbing my body. She didn't hit any spots that felt good at all. Her massages on each side was different than the other side, one is either longer while the other side when she side is much shorter. Totally opposite techniques on each side. And finally I just feel no matter how bad a masseuse may be, they cannot mess up the head massage . I SWEAR on everything, when she turn my head to the side she put so lotion on my neck, and she was really hurting me by going so hard on a person neck, she then drag the lotion into my hair. (Making it oily and nasty) she did the same on the other side was well. So I thought that okay it can't be that bad she can massage my head with no problems. I PROMISE you, she literally was just scratching my head from the side to the front to the back with lotion for a good 5 mins! This is the worst massage I've ever had. Ended up with oily hair, which I just took a shower before going for a massage to end my night. SMH. She also ended my massage 5 mins early. This place is very unprofessional! I called and asked if they took walk ins and they said yes to "come in now" I made it in 5 minutes and waited in the waiting area for 10 minutes because since they only take cash I was waiting for someone to bring me cash. As soon as the person brought me the money they said they couldn't take me in because they had another appointment in 20 minutes and to come back tomorrow. So why would they tell me to come in? 5 stars is an understatement. Ruby's massage & spa is brand new, but Ruby has perfected her craft over many years. I have seen Ruby for the last two years. I work in a very physical profession, and have a bulged disc, L4,L5/S1. This makes for a sore lower back, leg pain from sciatica nerve, and upper back pain from compensation. Ruby helps a lot. I massage often. And I go to several therapist. Ruby is the best at deep tissue and finding the knots. I only see the other therapists because I believe the mixture of styles helps with a more overall treatment. It sounds crazy, but Ruby finds sore spots I didn't even know I had. Every time I walk away from a Ruby massage, I walk away more straight. The spa is new. So everything in it is new. Some items are still on order. The rooms could use clothes hooks and a small face mirror. I believe these items will be in real soon. But because it's new, everything there is in perfect condition, clean, and brand new. There are 4 massage rooms for full body. 1 massage room for foot massage. Ruby bought very good tables, and uses extra thick towels. Ruby, I am glad you have your own place now. And I am glad you were proud enough to name it Ruby Massage and Spa. read more

Sadly I won't be coming back here. -My husband came here twice. The first time I had a good experience Ruby (the owner) was very passionate with her work. The only thing I didn't like was when she left it seemed like forever while my husband was still getting his massage, but that didn't stop me from enjoying my massage. My husband masseuse was okay she wasn't the best. He said she didn't put pressure where it was needed. He didn't get his neck cracked while I did. Anyways our massage wasnt supper bad to the point we didnt want to tip, so we tip $40. -We usually get a massage every 2 weeks or atleast once a month as my husband work makes him sore and tight a lot. Anyways we decided to come back again instead of going to a different one. He called and made an appointment for a couple massage and she booked the appointment. Then called us back when we were almost there to say she's trying to call another person in since it was only her there. When we got there he came in to check and she told him about 15 minutes because her husband have to go pick up the lady since she doesnt know how to drive. Anyways no biggie she took us to the room we got undressed and was laying on the bed with a towel over. The room was freezing cold that my husband had to put another towel on me usually theres a blanket or the table is heated, but this place had nothing of that sort. Anyways 15 mins has pass and no one came in...honestly at this point I was getting kinda pissed off especially since im freezing cold. They finally came in 3:07 we usually get the 90mins massage so we should be done at about 4:37 anyways I got the owner again while my husband got the new person. We could hardly understand her accent which was fine. The owner she wasnt as good as she was the first time. There was pressure, but it wasn't the same as what she did before that i really enjoyed. She didn't even do half of the thing she did the first time including the back walking (which I didnt mind) but she finished at around 4:30 to go crack my husband neck which was fine to me since he needed it anyways. When we were done I asked my husband how was if he told me it was the worst massage ever she didnt go over his knots at all not even once she latter him with OIL which was the worst part everything was dripping. Seems like she was new probably wasnt even suppose to be working. When we went out to pay the owner kept on asking my husband how was it, how was she, was the first time better, and my husband told her honestly that it wasn't good. She didnt even bother saying anything about it. She charged us $100 for both he tip them $30 which we thought it was a discount for making us wait in a freezing cold room and for slacking especially with the masseuse that my husband got. About an hr later her husband called my husband demanding that we come back to pay the remainder balance which was $40 since they charge $70 per person. My husband called them back and she told him it was an undercharged not a discount and to come back and pay. We did come back and pay, but I find it really rude to demand it especially after such a horrible experience we went through. We've been to other massage places out there including asains ones and whenever they "undercharge" they would just call us to let us know for next time and they would just take the tip money to cover the difference. -All in all this was the worst experience and I won't be coming back here sadly. I know that they will comment and want us to call them back so they can "fix" the problem, but I'm sure that's just for show as she already knew the problem when we went to pay and didn't even bother fixing the problem. -Why do I need to remove my review? As a business owner why are you bribing mens to come back and get free massage. -I wasnt going down that route it's you yourself who went down that route. Dirty and cheap? I didn't say anything wrong. You deleted your old review about how sorry you guys were and now you are saying my review isn't true. Like your post said my husband came back because YOU offer to fix the problem, so my husband HIMSELF went back, we NEVER asked for a FREE massage you offered that to him on your own in return to take down a post that I wrote, NOT HIM. Like my post said I myself won't be coming back and I still haven't, so you don't need to tell me that you guys dont need customers like me. I'm sorry that my honesty is too real for you! You want to talk about cheap? I bought a gift card from you the first time that I came there and we still haven't used it yet. This is an overdue review. I went to Ruby about 2 weeks ago because it is a brand new massage place and it's right by my house with 5-star reviews, so I gotta try it out. I have to say it's one of the best messages that I have had in a long time. I go different massage places at least once a month and none of them are comparable from my experience with Ruby. Even though most of the reviews are pretty similar I still didn't know what to really expect because I've been to so many massage places just trying to find the right one. The inside was clean but kind of a weird set up cause there were 2 tables for the couples massage then a recliner against the wall with some random stuff on it - maybe a robe or jacket but only 1 and they didn't indicate that it was for us. Also only 1 pair of slippers which indicated to me they were also not for us? Also they still have that sign up that makes you think the hot stones or cupping is included but it's not:(. I gave 4 stars because I didn't love it but my husband did. Like, LOVED it so much he's wanting to go back asap. Ruby wasn't there that day but his masseuse was still amazing he says (sorry didn't catch her name). I paid for a 60 minute head, facial, neck and shoulder massage. However, it was more like 45 mins. And every time the front door opened, she left the room. Also, I received my massage with the door opened! Anyways, this was just a face rub and a head massage. I had to tell her to move on from rubbing my face after 15 mins because what I really wanted were my shoulders to be worked on. I kept waiting for her to get to my shoulders and when she finally did, literally, all she did was pull my elbows apart, which lasted less than 5 mins with both shoulders. I don't know how this place have 5 stars. I should have spent the extra $20 to go to my favorite spot in downtown but thought I'd give it a shot since it was more affordable. read more

Today was my 30th birthday and I went to get a massage it was my first time but it won't be my last Ruby was awesome I was very tight very tense and had lots of work that resulted in pain in my upper shoulders she was awesome she was perfect she was great I cannot stress enough how strong her hands were for a woman of her size it was painful but pleasurable at the same time if that makes sense. I took my father in law for a full body massage for his birthday. We picked this location since its close to his house and had great yelp reviews. My father in law liked the massage. It was the best he's had, he says. Great work. My only big negative.....At the end of the massage, he gave her a 20% tip. He said the lady asked him for more $ and kept repeating to him "more tip, tip, tip", until he walked out. That was not tasteful at all and made me think that because he's a much older man they would try to take advantage of the elderly. NOT COOL. read more

Hot stones, hot towels, warm lotion, strong thumbs, elbows, and feet.. Ruby uses it all to work out those kinks you have. Funny thing is.. I didn't really tell her where to target however, with the Full Body Massage, she was able to determine my pain points just by feeling it. (Amazing!) I work on the computer all day for my job.. I needed some relief from my poor slouching and posture. I called in for availability same day to do during my lunch hour and she was able to accomodate me right away. YELP disappoints!! i don't know how this place has 5 stars, i will give u my experience!! 1. the other reviews keep mentioning Ruby, well she was not my massuse so something worth noting. here is my run down.... 2. My regular place was not available and everywhere was booked except this place, should have been my first clue!!! note i like deep massages not foo foo fluffy soft, it's there to relieve pain not cause! not a big fan of the reflexogy massages but it's 20 bucks! 3. I underdressed & went under a small hand towel to cover me but there was nothing else in room. it was very uncomfortable. the lady came in and made some comments but i didn't understand what she said and then she tucked the towel over my undies and pulled my underwear all the way to show my but crack which was extremly exposing! and then she started massage this area which did not feel nice. like stop massage my but crack. wth! 4. Forgot in the beginning She left the room with the door open to go get the hot oil, i was pretty much naked at this point with a small towel covering my but and legs! so it was extremely unprofessional! like i could hear people walking by and they could prob see me. 5. when she first put the hot oil on me, it was so hot it burned my skin!! but she continue to pour the oil all over my back and only massaged my shoulder with my bare back wet and bearing the cold because she didn't cover my back with the small towel left. i knew then this was gonna be a nightmare because there was no technique, no pressure no working on knots, just rubbing this oil over and over my shoulders. i contemplated ending the session, but they make you pay before starting the massage so another red flag they want money upfront. 6. during the session she yelled at me a few times as she wanted my hands to stay in position hanging off the bed otherwise the oil would spill off my back, that's how much oil was on me and it was an extremely awkward position to stay in. 7. on to hot stones! forget it's complimentry, she put a stack of hot stones and lined them all down my spine, i felt like i was the witch in blair witch project. the stones were all hot as hell! the worst part was when she jerked my legs apart spread eagle, i was like damn WTF is happening to me! and then she bulldozed the hot stones which are HOT as f*** all over my legs and back. i ask her to stop but she didn't so after i could not stand the pain anymore and repeated myself 4 times that the stones are too hot she replied ..."TOO HOT, hahahahaha okay but still continued to rub the oil with the stones all over my back.. which hurts as hell with rocks going over ur shoulder blades etc ... i don't know why i subjected myself to stay in torture? 8. when i get up, my neck is aching in agony! i'm in so much more pain then i came in. I got another massage the next day from a legit place. as i was going to my appt, this place blew up my phone like crazy trying to get me to get come back for a free massage from my bad experience. but honestly this is not a 20 reflexogy massage place. there are sooo many legit massages in sac where the place is nice and calm where u will get a nice clean sanitary atmosphere and a legit massage table and towels to cover yourself and the privacy and the relaxation you are treating uself to. not worth the 80 bucks massage! read more
