I came to this place because I had got a Groupon. When I walked in the man at the counter seemed kinda awkward then later someone else came and I showed them my voucher. I went Into the room and got the worse massage ever. They asked how I wanted the pressure and I said medium. It was all hard. I kept telling them medium not hard. I don't think she understood English well. Half way the person stopped because someone up front was asking for them. Then someone else came to continue. That right there was so awkward in itself and unprofessional. Instead of helping me this made me sore for a few days and even left bruises on my skin. Booked a couples massage through their chat text option at short notice. I asked if there were any specials for couples massage, otherwise I could book the Groupon which was on promo for about $98, included 60 mins of massage and hot stones. The person that was helping me asked that I please don't purchase the Groupon and they will give me the same deal since im also a first time customer. By doing it this way, they pocket the $ in full rather than Groupon likely taking a portion if bought through the site. Anyway, I thought it was a reasonable ask and I wanted to support the business directly by not doing the Groupon and thought the booking process through their text chat was convenient. Fast forward to today, the day of appointment. My hubby and I walk in, a guy at the front couldn't find my reservation. I showed him the text. He pretty much said I don't know who you was helping me. Then when I brought up the text about the deal, he calls the owner Tommy who then he puts on the phone with me, basically says he can do $120 but not the promo price. If it wasn't my anniversary today, I would have raised this as a huge issue but I didn't want to just walk out at this point, even though now looking back, I should have. I said fine, I'll go with that "deal" which honestly was NOT a deal, because a 60 min massage was already $60/pp to begin with per their price list. I'm already irritated but whatever, we're there. He walks us to a small ass room, there was no aromatherapy fragrance in the air, there was no ambiance... should have seriously backed out, but I already gave him the prepayment. He didn't even explain what we needed to do, just walked us in and closed the door. We've been to plenty of massage spas before and we obviously know what we should do, but it's common practice to still verbally explain to your clients what your spa does. Fast forward to the masseuses.... they seemed nice. Then my masseuse asked if she could "walk" on my back. That's never happened before but I figured ok, must be a thing they do since I saw they do thai massages as well. I also noticed there were bars from wall to wall. Really weird. This lady did not just walk on my back, she was massaging my back with her feet, like slipping and sliding on her soles. Honestly I was too shocked to say anything at that point, at the end of the whole thing I was pretty grossed out, went home and showered again. Also, hot stones were NOT even used!!! Hot smelly towels, yes, but there were no hot stones like a couples massage was supposed to have. I'm never coming back. Ever. As I was leaving the guy who checked us in was trying to small talk and saying sorry about earlier he doesn't know who I was texting with and that he will for sure give me a discount the next time we come back. There is absolutely no going back. Save your money and go elsewhere. It was 1000% not worth the $120 for a couples massage that didnt even include hot stones, but come here if you like getting massaged by their feet. This place was just weird and felt sketchy overall. The masseuse who I won't name even asked me to give her a 5 star review. Sorry it's an overall 1 for me. P.s my husband didn't get the feet masseuse and he had no clue what I was going through, but he did get the back walk, but his masseuse kept a towel on his back the whole time she did it. I was greeted upon entering by Shawn. He told me that Susan was my massage therapist and asked me if that would be okay with me. I was shown a room and got ready. When she came in, she greeted me and started to go to work! She got all the knots out of my shoulders and asked if she could walk on my back. If you don't want her to she won't. She rubbed down my hamstrings and calfs. She also worked my quads. Outstanding and most importantly, relaxing. I fell asleep about 2 times within the hour session since I was not looking for a very hard massage, so Michelle had a very good amount of pressure l. Came here for a couple's massage for my husband and myself. I am a massage veteran and my husband is a newbie. The massage therapists, a man named Sean and a woman named either Candy or Cathy treated us to a wonderful adaptive session unlike any I have had before. Despite the language barrier, Cathy was kind and gentle, doing exactly what I requested (Swedish with essential oil). I do wish she applied more oil in between because sometimes the skin would be dry too fast (I blame the winter!) and there were some times the flow would end up pinching a little bit here and there. But the technique was perfect. My husband had Sean, and this is where the magic was. Sean is a fluent English speaker and clearly high up in this spa as he proceeded to do an incredibly professional intake and session. After getting a general idea of my husband's health and activity levels, he asked him for permission to do a customized array of modalities tailored to his problem areas. This was no ordinary couple's massage! While I wish it was more of a relaxing session, my husband said Sean was able to pinpoint exactly what he needed and in this case, it turns out his body needed a lot more of a therapeutic touch! I believe my newbie hubbie was treated to Shiatsu, deep tissue, and even orthopedic-style guided stretches - Sean was working insanely hard! Again - he is a sensitive person, so whenever it got too rough, Sean respected his boundaries and adjusted so he still got the musculoskeletal benefits while being gentle enough. We left the spa feeling refreshed, relaxed (me), and healthier (him). Wow! Never had a massage session go this way but we do not regret it. Loved the professionalism and the expertise. I had a lower back pain and Shawn was able to go deep in for the massage and afterwards my back felt so great. Soon after the massage was done, Shawn gave helpful tips to keep our body in shape to avoid any future injuries and we had a nice water in the end to hydrate after. OMG!!!! Kathy was great. Not being from Sacramento I went solely on reviews and I'm glad I took a chance. I've had pain in my shoulders and neck for the last week due to stress. At first I called and no one answered. Kathy called me back and took me in the same day. I got a 1 hour full body massage for $50.00. She applied just enough pressure and even identified areas that I didn't know had knots. She applied extra pressure by standing on my back and working some of the knots out. My Husband surprised me with a 90 min massage bcz he heard a few ppl talk about this place and I just recently started working out and started a new job with Fedex. My body was all tensed up. Kathy lil self is strong and was so nice. The term "put yo foot in it" LOL!!! Is exactly what she did. It hurt but was a good hurt due to all the knots I had. I will be going back after 3 days to loosen up what she wasn't able to get too due to not wanting to apply to much all at once. This place is 1st class. Very clean, relaxing, & friendly staff. I've been over due for massage due to my back and long distance cycling I do. My muscles were so tight and had an hour massage with Tracy that did a great job. I was shocked how strong she was. Even though she was very small she was able to apply strong pressure where I needed it the most. The hour went so fast that I decided to do another hour. 2nd hour was with Kathy! OMG her hands where like magic! She was also very small but very powerful. All of my muscles where like a wet noodle by the time she was done. I can't recommend her enough, ask for Kathy if you have muscles that get tight. I honestly couldn't imagine feeling an better but she recommended a scrub. I really didn't have any plans since this was after work & I rarely treat myself so I went for a 3rd hour. This scrub was Vicky. I've never had this done before but I felt like I was in heaven! After showering I felt like a million dollars! My skin felt soft like a newborn baby. If I could I would go back every day. I'm so busy working overtime every week, but already looking at my calendar because I can't wait to go back.
