I read the reviews and decided to take a chance on a new spot. I was able to make an appointment the same day, which was nice. The owner is very pleasant. In reviews, people mentioned that she gives a DEEP tissue massage, and it's true. I was a little nervous, because I was in pain. She was considerate of my sore spots. Did it hurt? A little, but it was tolerable. Nikki respected my requests to avoid some areas that were too sensitive. Interesting fact-as she massaged my shoulders, she asked if it hurt. This place was recommended by my jiu-jitsu gym-mates. They've been talking a big hype about Nikki, and how she heals them in the worst way (pun, but you'll get it at the end of this review). And she lives up to the hype. Just a warning about this review: I'm not trying to scare anyone, and everyone's pain tolerance differs, and I'm sure she goes as hard as you 'let' her, that being said: I endure all the (temporary) pain she brings, because I know the after effects benefits me. It's equivalent to working out hard and consistent for a while, like it really sucks to workout very hard, but the end results is what your after and it pays off. Nikki is extremely strong in her hands. And she goes in deep with her elbows. Like if she is massaging you back, it feels like she is trying to reach your chest, via going through your back. You have meaty muscles? She'll get through those, like she's trying to massaging beneath your muscles. She also does scraping on my injured shoulders. The pain is unreal, but again, the results are amazing for me, as I keep my athletic exercises (BJJ and CrossFit). It feels like she's trying to scrap your skin off with a spoon. Next comes the cupping. For me she puts a lot and it's heavy cupping on my skin. It feels like she's trying to drain the blood out through my pores. Again: these are my experiences, I only come here if I need something fixed, it's not an enjoyable massage where you sleep during, but you'll sleep great that night and all you muscle pains will be gone. I usually go there because of my shoulders. It'll go from messed up, tight, can't do full rotations, to where it feels like I have a brand new shoulder after her service. If my job allowed me, I'd take a gummie right before her service, or a shot of liquor. Nikki is the best. I usually recommend her to my jiu-jitsu or athletic friends. Nikki was a nice lady. Bestie and I both choose the one hour hot stone massage. Once I got in and Nikki started working she recommended coining and cupping. I agreed and she continued massaging. If you haven't tried coining and cupping before it is different from a traditional massage. Make sure to be ready for marks left on your body after she's done. This is not the first for me but it is the first I've had it done where I would need long sleeve clothings if I want it to be covered when going out. Nikki is pretty strong for small woman. Strong, aggressive, not afraid to dig deeeep into your muscles. These are all words to describe Nikke, the petite asian lady that runs this place. I'm so serious, she is NOT afraid to get up in there when massaging you. This is a functional massage. Do NOT expect to relax and fall asleep. Expect to feel deep deep tissue pressure with vigorous movements. She asks you where you're hurting and she gets to work! Without asking, she has stepped and walked on my back, and has thoroughly massaged all parts of my aching glutes. She effectively reaches those muscles that you can't really get to on your own (hamstrings, inner thighs, upper back, and yes glutes). When massaging you, she really puts her back into it and you can feel it. At times, it is painful, and I scream inside of my mind for her to stop! But when she is done, the area feels so much better. First off, if you only want a Swedish massage where the masseuse gently sweeps over the superficial layers of tissue while you nap, avoid this place at all costs. If you're looking for funny business with a happy ending you can go elsewhere too. I've seen the golf club this lady keeps around for self-defense lol. In this cozy massage parlor lives the tiny Nikki, who while diminutive at below five feet is nevertheless an unlikely terror with hands of steel. Do not underestimate this woman! Come here if you are a devotee of deep tissue lymphatic massage. She makes unique use of hot basalt stones, using them to work out tough knots and problem spots for a truly therapeutic experience. Get the 90 minute with hot stones - a steal at $90 because this allows her enough time to do the lymphatic drainage massage, find your problem spots and then come back for second pass to work on those spots with the hot stones. She will let you know if you need cupping or scraping (traditional Asian methods of chronic pain relief) also included in the cost. She worked for 17 years as a masseuse and even in her native Vietnam as a budding massage student she had a reputation for being tough on knots. Her classmates were a little scared of her lol. She's an expert at finding all the worst spots. If you can endure the depth of her deep tissue massage you'll leave feeling lighter, relaxed, and will sleep deeply. Be forewarned that her English is not her first language, so don't expect a Chatty Cathy. This isn't a massage at the Four Seasons. This is therapeutic massage that will be somewhat unpleasant but afterwards you'll feel great. The results last for two weeks and are additive if you have repeated sessions. Each time I've come back my pain lessened as she promised. Chronic pain relief ftw!! My sister and I came here on a whim because I had hurt my lower back the day prior at the gym. They were the only ones accepting walk ins on a busy Saturday. Tammy was super nice (she felt like she was my Vietnamese auntie) and immediately got to work and thus started the most painful hour of my life. She quickly identified my pain from the gym and even found some trouble spots leftover from a car accident I got in a year ago. She left me crying! Lol But after she worked her magic, I could stand up straight again. A lot of tension and pain that I had gotten used to started to disappate. I feel badly that I can't continue the 5 star ratings, but my review is a warning to others. I have had deep tissue massages in town, Southern California, Bay Area and Las Vegas. Some have been better than others, but NONE of them left me hurting, bruised and with less mobility in my shoulder than when I went in. I never asked for cupping, but I think she did it to mask the purple bruises that I was developing. I told her to go easier on my shoulders and neck, but she said I needed it to bring the toxins to the surface of my skin. She then took out her phone to show me pictures of others that had been "detoxified". These people looked like they had been run over by a truck. I wouldn't be so harsh, if she only listened to me. This place is really close to my house and I saw that it had a few good reviews, so I had to see what it was all about. My initial impressions is that it was nice and clean. I got a really good deep tissue massage. Which was painful but it felt good, but there were some moment where I slightly winced in pain. And I feel like i have a fairly high pain tolerance.... This isn't your Arden Hills Spa retreat, but you will leave feeling less tense and your knots beaten the shit out of. Her prices are extremely low for the work she puts in to helping your knots and aches. Don't be fooled by her petite appearance. Those are some iron arms and fingers! I have gone to many places for massage, tried different people, but Nikki by far is the best! I personally like "deep" tissue and I have had a hard time finding any experience that helped me feel relief from my aches and pains until I met Nikki. It was tough at first as she really worked through my hurting muscles... I was crying out in pain in the beginning, but I put my trust in her and her techniques have really worked for me. First time here with my husband and we had a good experience. The spa is located in the far park right side of the plaza, which was a little eerie since we had a later appt. When we first walked through the doors there was no one there to greet us. We stood in front of the door in a small narrow waiting area for a couple mins until Nikki came up to greet us. She showed us to our room where we had the couple's massage for $100 so $50 each which is a great price compared to many. The ambience of the room was serene and dim they were playing some relaxing outdoor sounds. After telling us to undress to our comfort, we get a knock on the door and two middle age asian ladies came in and started out massage. They asked what our preference of level of pressure and if we had any pain that needed to be addressed. The two ladies where very nice but I forgot their names. The massage started out very nice and mid massage the ladies started asking us questions like what's our profession and ethnicity which is fine but it got awkward when they started asking about out home life. We had the last appt of the night and felt a little rushed bcos I understood the ladies talking in vietnamese and they were having a conversation of what they had to do when they get home and that it was getting late. All in all it was a good massage and we may think about booking another session possibly earlier in the day.
